Inside the NFL was good last night.

welcome to the weekend...

so, today has been a bit crazy for me. we had some rain overnight, so my arthritis was crazy. even a weed gummy didn't help last night. when the rain finally ended this morning, i went to the bank to make a deposit. after the bank, i had to go to Kroger to get a prescription. apparently, my old Glimepiride prescription never got taken off, so they filled both 1mg and 4 mg. (i take the 4 mg now, have been for months) that lets me know that Rite Aid was basically doing nothing when i was getting my pills there. i got back home and had a little lunch before the Manchester United game was going to start.

now, i have really liked the changes that Manchester United has made to the team and coaching staff so far. they still need to be more clinical in the final third, but i can at least hope that gets better as the season goes along. Joshua Zirkzee came in the second half and scored his first United goal and won the game, 1-0. if they can keep some clean sheets this season and win games, i will be happy. plus, i put a little money on Zirkzee when he came in the game. so, him scoring that goal was a welcome little surprise.

Big Brother was really good last night. Cedric got evicted. Tucker is the new HOH.

NJPW was pretty good last night.

i've had it with humans...

so, here is a little slice of my day today at the grocery store. i was standing in line and noticed there was this young family behind me. i'm guessing the parents were in their late 20's and they had 2 little kids with them. the checkout lane next to me opened up and i mentioned it to them, since i could tell, especially on the father's face, he was ready to get the fuck out of there. so, they went in that lane and i stayed in mine. both of them thanked me. i then got up to the cashier in my lane and of course, here comes the fun. there was a shift change and that also meant, the bagger that was working that lane left as well. so, you can imagine the fun i had bagging my groceries as both of my arms were raging from the pinched nerves. the lady behind me had already put her credit card and coupons on the little spot next to the card reader, thinking i was done. i just looked at her with the most evil fucking look i can muster with a fucking mask on. the cashier told the lady i still had to pay. she moved back. i put my card in and the cashier told me thanks. i told her i need the receipt. oh, that's right. she gave me the receipt and the needless coupons that came with it. mind you, the winds today were blowing around 45 MPH all the fucking time. i got my groceries in the Highlander and just mumbled to myself, i'm done with fucking humans. maybe i'll become Howard Hughes after all.

Manchester United won 2-0 yesterday against Brighton. CR7 finally scored again. Bruno added another goal late. our damn internet went out right as the defender from Brighton was getting a red card. the win puts United back into 4th place.

the USA men's hockey team pissed away chance after chance last night and gave up the game tying goal with 44 seconds left against Slovakia. the game had no scoring in OT, so it was decided in a shootout. i'm still wondering why the fuck David Quinn didn't use the best USA players in the shootout. Slovakia won that, 1-0. they won the game 3-2. Slovakia advances to the medal round in easily the biggest win in their Olympic history. all of this reminded me of how Quinn coached the New York Rangers. when it didn't matter, the team was great. as soon as it did matter, he couldn't coach the team out of a wet paper bag. and considering Canada lost to Sweden, the USA pissed away a glorious chance to win a medal. oh well.

the New York Rangers won last night against Boston, 2-1 in a shootout.

NXT was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Celebrity Big Brother, I Can See Your Voice and AEW.

the USA women's hockey team takes on Canada tonight for the gold medal. hopefully they will do better than the men's team.

we are under a flood watch at the moment. since it got into the 50's today, i imagine some rain and some melting snow and we will have a nice little shit show here.

i did get some baseball cards today at Rite Aid. it was a $5 box that had just about $10 worth of cards in it. that made me happy.

i should be on here tomorrow after mom's physical therapy session in the afternoon. i'm hoping i will get some poems written while i am there.

i need to go figure out what i'm making for dinner tonight.

that's all for me kids.

and now the second shot is done...

so, they called this morning to see if my mother and i could come earlier to get our second vaccine shots. so, a little after noon, we went to Rite Aid to get the second shot. like the first one, i didn't feel anything. i've been drinking plenty of fluids since i got the second shot. i have heard plenty of horror stories from people about the second one. i'm betting i wake up tomorrow and feel fine. i did find some baseball cards at Rite Aid today. i got 2 Fairfield boxes. i think they had around $20 worth of cards in them. i also went through the Leaf cards i got a few months ago to see what the prices are on them. imagine my surprise when i had a few worth over $20 now. that made me happy.

and just like that, pen hit the paper again...

i haven't even felt like writing anything the past 2 weeks. last night, i ended up writing 7 poems. i'm guessing it was the second earthquake in California that got the poetic juices flowing again. i typed those poems up last night. this all happened between the hours of 2 and 5 this morning. i like most of the poems. i do plan on getting another round of submissions ready, probably sometime over this weekend.

the NBA basically broke the internet last night.

the New York Yankees came from behind last night to defeat Tampa, 8-4 in 11 innings. Aaron Judge hit 2 home runs in the game. Aaron Hicks hit a massive pinch hit home run that sent the game into extra innings. hopefully, the Yankees can win again later this afternoon.

Los Espookys was really good last night.

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW, ROH and Bohemian Rhapsody.

i am really looking forward to night 1 of the G1 Climax tonight. it will be the first time the annual NJPW event will be live on AXS TV and coming from the USA.

i did catch a little of Sweden defeating England 2-1 in the third place game of the Women's World Cup today.

as of right now, the plan for tomorrow is for me to get this blog done before the USWNT takes on the Netherlands in the Women's World Cup final. if that doesn't happen, i'll try to get the blog done after the match over, while the Yankees are finishing up their series in Tampa.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. it's getting ready to rain here, oh joy.

happy birthday Alex Morgan...

i wanted to make sure i got everything done today so i could be home and watch the USA vs. England in the Women's World Cup semi-finals. i took a shower, made a deposit at the bank and took mom out shopping at the drug store. she wanted McDonald's for lunch for some reason. thankfully, we got back home in time for the game.

the USA defeated England 2-1 today to advance to the Women's World Cup finals. this game had a little bit of everything. goals, injuries, red card, plenty of yellow cards, a bullshit penalty call, a brilliant save on that penalty and then a masterclass on wasting time by the USA. and Alex Morgan became the first woman to score a goal on her birthday in the World Cup. and then, she did a brilliant, savage bit of trolling with her celebration.

Monday Night Raw was so much better last night and i know exactly why... Paul Heyman. i'm really hoping they simply hand him the keys and allow his creativity to fucking flow. you could tell last night how his vision is slowly creeping into the picture, finally.

the season premiere of Divorce last night was pretty good.

the New York Yankees start a quick 2 game series tonight at the Mets. hopefully, they don't have a letdown from the games over in London.

we've had some storms in the area today. my back certainly feels like more is on the way. perfect, i still have the trash to pick up.

i do plan on watching some of the Gold Cup semi-final tonight between Haiti and Mexico.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow after the Sweden vs. Netherlands game at the Women's World Cup.

i'm off to go pick up the trash.

sometimes the pain starts at the base of the neck...

i usually can know right when i wake up in the morning, how the day is going to be for me physically. i don't think i have had a good night of sleep in over 30 years. i know if i wake up in pain, it's going to be a long day. today was one of those days. but, like most of my Fridays anymore, there was shit to get done. and i know one thing, the older i get, the harder it is for me to still find pleasure in the pain.

i did get the 9 poems i wrote yesterday at mom's physical therapy typed up this morning. i really liked most of them. that puts me at 54 poems through Feb. 15th. that's a pretty insane pace.

the grocery store today wasn't too bad. my neck was killing me for most of the time in there. and i'm sure there were some beautiful women in there, but my pain wasn't exactly allowing me to browse. i kept everything under $100, at least for the food. my prescription was $30 and a bottle of gin and Jack Daniels Honey ran me over $40. but, i need to keep the bar stocked.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

Lip Sync Battle was pretty good last night.

Will & Grace was hilarious last night.

Gotham was fucking great last night, especially the ending.

the weather has shifted back to winter today after being almost 50 degrees yesterday. i guess the water problem here has been solved for now. of course, people were still buying bottled water at the store like a fucking hurricane was coming or something.

part of me really wants to go to the Dayton Flyers game tomorrow against VCU. part of me also knows that with this weather change, there's a decent chance i'm going to feel like shit tomorrow and just watch the game on television. hopefully, i wake up tomorrow and feel better. (stop laughing)

plenty of sunshine in the freezing cold today...

before i get to the zoo that was the grocery store and that crazy shit, some poetry news to get to first.

i sent out 22 poems today, 5 each to Horror Sleaze Trash and Synchronized Chaos; 6 each to Record Magazine and The Loch Raven Review. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.

mom wasn't feeling good enough to go to the grocery store with me today. i know it's hard for her to do anything 2 days in a row anymore. the store was beyond packed. i guess since the sun was out, people must have thought it was time to go outside. i must have stood in line at the pharmacy for nearly 30 minutes before i got up to the counter. and of course, the woman had no fucking clue how to do a refund. thankfully, someone there did. and then it was off into the store to get all the shit on the list. i knew it was going to be pricey because mom wanted me to buy gift cards for Christmas. so that was a good $125 right there. add in the pills and all the food i got, the total for the day was right around $300. thank fucking god my credit is good.

i did figure out who i am sending Christmas cards and gifts to this year last night. hopefully, i will get those done this weekend and get them out on Monday.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

The Big Bang Theory was very funny last night.

Young Sheldon was very good last night.

Will & Grace was fucking hilarious last night.

more snow on the way, great...

i saw the weather forecast last night and figured the grocery store this afternoon was going to be a fucking zoo. i was pretty close to being correct. more on that later.

i wrote 11 poems yesterday while in the waiting room of my mom's physical therapy. i typed those up last night and really like a few of them.

our lunch was pretty good yesterday. it was definitely better than the trip to Toys R Us. right when we got to the store, i saw a sign that said contrary to what you might have seen, we do not know when the liquidation sales will begin. we apologize for any inconvenience. i looked at mom and laughed. the old bait and switch. there were certain items that were on clearance. of course, most of those were already gone. i found a couple Funko Pops that were a good price and a little Batman toy that was a decent price. but the rest of the "good shit" was way too expensive. we found out as we were checking out that the vendors came in last week and got all the baseball cards. that pissed me off as i was really hoping to find some of those at a good price. oh well. that was my first time in a Toys R Us in probably 20 years. sadly, it looked about the same. no wonder they are going out of business.

i did watch a little of the basketball games last night. let's just say the entire left side of my bracket is now over with. i figure tonight will most likely take care of my right side. joy.

Atlanta was excellent last night.

Lip Sync Battle was crazy last night.

Gotham was fucking great last night.

the New York Rangers lost last night to Philadelphia 4-3. the refs blew the call on what would have been the tying goal in the game. so, a big thank you to them for that fuck up.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, 2 episodes of NJPW, Real Time with Bill Maher and the season finale of High Maintenance.

the grocery store was definitely picked through by the time i got there today. anytime the weather forecast is doom and gloom, i know the store is going to be a fucking zoo the following day. thankfully, i didn't have a scroll of things to get today. sadly, the toy selection at the grocery store was better than that at Toys R Us. and yes, i got them at a discount. all in all, my 2 prescriptions cost almost half as much as the fucking groceries. but, i got out of there with only spending a little over $100. now watch, it won't fucking snow.

mom had the closing of the sale of the other home she owned today. i can tell that's a whole ton of stress lifted off of her now. i'm hoping my cousin will do a good job of taking care of it. she owns it now.

i didn't watch much of the New York Yankees game today. i saw they were losing to Boston and just moved along, scanning the channels. i can't wait for the season to start. 6 days away.

i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. kind of depends on how shitty the weather actually gets tonight.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

best of luck to Trotwood in the Division 2 state championship tomorrow.

thankfully, i'm full of patience

the Dayton Flyers lost last night to Auburn 73-60. that stops Dayton's 16 game home winning streak. first off, Dayton simply wasn't good enough in this game. defense was atrocious at times and they settled for way too many jump shots. secondly, the officiating was horrific. Dayton has the younger brother of the Greek Freak that plays in the NBA. for the second time that i can remember this season, Kostas got a foul called on him simply because of who he was. i am so fucking tired of refs that call shit because they think something is going to happen. how the fuck do you get a charge called on you when you don't touch the fucking player on your drive to the hoop? this has been my bitch for years now. since refs can't keep up with better and faster athletes, they try to anticipate shit. instead of the novel fucking approach of simply calling what you see. thirdly, Dayton's offense is a fucking joke. they will get zoned to death by any coach that can actually coach. Dayton's unwillingness to work the ball inside and out possession after possession slowly put the damn crowd to sleep. i don't think Dayton got closer than 8 in the second half. Dayton's next game will be on Sunday night at Mississippi State. oh joy.

mom got dizzy way too many times last night at the game. i don't think she's ready yet for all the noise and flashing lights, etc.

Total Divas was pretty good last night.

NXT was pretty good as well last night.

the Bruno Mars: 24K Magic Live at the Apollo certainly lifted my mood some last night. as mom put it, no man on earth should have that much energy.

it was rainy this morning here, so my bones have been achy all damn day. that's always fun. i wanted to get some poems ready for next week but i haven't felt like it at all. hell, i don't really feel like doing this blog but i know there's plenty of Russians looking at it each day.

Waffle House was rather interesting last night. the cook was a young black man. i was immediately interested to see how the employees would interact. the one thing i have noticed about this town is most people have no clue how to act around a black person. i picked up on that when our waitress changed her attitude once he was no longer in the kitchen. it's fucking amazing how often people around here have no damn clue what being racist actually is. i really hope this town gets more integrated over time. i'd love to see all the fucking racists flee.

took a trip back into the past last night

for some damn reason, Menards has my mother's shipping address as our old farm, but the bills all come to the house. mom alerted them to this when she ordered some things from there, but of course Menards did nothing. so, mom saw last night that it was delivered to the farm. i told her we might as well drive out there, it's probably still on the fucking porch.

i can't believe the number of trees that have been cut down. they have cleared so much and wonder why it floods down at the end of the lane. the family living there now have done a pretty nice job with the house. they are running a little business there as well. the upgrades they made to the porch and summer kitchen was stuff we always wanted to do but never had the money for it. and yes, the package was right where i thought it would be. after that trip, mom wanted Taco Bell. that pretty much summed up a night in a small town.

i think i finished the 8th poem i wrote last night around 3 in the morning. i definitely hopped on a wave last night and rode the fucker to death. i typed those 8 poems up this morning. a few are really fucking good. the total brings me to more than 30 poems this month. so, that goal has been met. i think i will do some poetry submissions in early December and call it a year then. i'd like to actually trick myself into thinking i'm looking forward to Christmas this year.

my plan mostly worked yesterday. i figured if i did the grocery shopping while Manchester United was playing, they would do well. sure enough, when i got home from the store they were up 3-0. they eventually won the game over Watford 4-2. that cuts the deficit in the league back down to 5 points. hopefully City will fuck up today and leave it there.

the grocery store wasn't nearly as crowded as i thought it was going to be yesterday. i was able to find everything on the list. i had to restock the freezer, but i was able to keep the bill under $140.

the New York Rangers lost last night to Florida 5-4. they were in a 3-0 hole after the first period. i guess when you grind your goalie into the ground with so many damn starts in a row, it's bound to happen. but, the Rangers also have had a shitty tendency this season to start games sometime around the second period. it's not a way to have a successful season, i know that much. the Rangers got back into the game, eventually tying the game at 4-4. they should have had the lead by then, but the replay officials in Toronto have no damn clue what goalie interference actually is. Florida scored late in the 3rd to win the game 5-4. i would have loved for the Rangers to at least get a point out of that game. the division is going to be fucking crazy this season and every single fucking point will matter.

Smackdown was pretty good last night. i do love where they are going with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.

205 Live was pretty good last night as well.

Drop the Mic was really fucking good last night.

The Voice was its usual travesty last night. what happens nearly every fucking season on this show is some lousy fucking country singer will stay and some black soul singer will be voted off. it never fails.

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Total Divas and Bruno Mars: 24K Magic Live at the Apollo. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

mom and i are going to the Dayton Flyers vs. Auburn game tonight. i think she's feeling up to it. it's supposed to be close to a sellout tonight. Dayton has never lost to Auburn, although i think that might change tonight. the game is on nationally on CBS Sports Network.

that's all for me today kids. hopefully i will be on here tomorrow with good news.

trying to survive a rainy day

i had a hard time falling asleep last night. it used to be that the sound of rain would put me to sleep. now, it's nothing but pain for me. so when i heard it raining at three in the morning, i knew i was going to be in for a long day. that's pretty much exactly what it has been.

i did make it to the bank to make a deposit. there wasn't much going on at the bank. i still go to the one in the town i grew up in. and honestly, that fucking town is more or less on its last legs. hopefully the last business out remembers to turn off the lights.

a big thank you to my buddy Sam Roberts for what he sent me today. i finally got the stickers i ordered back in May with a big surprise... an autographed Hulk Hogan picture. that's what i call a fucking cool early Christmas present.

i advanced to the finals in my fantasy football playoff game last night. i ended up winning by 10. of course, the winning points didn't come until the end of the game. needless to say, i was a bit pissy all night. but, the Saints did win the game (31-15) so that victory beer helped calm me down.

The Voice was really good last night. when i saw the original performance from Matt on team Adam, i knew after it was over that he was going to win it this year. the song and performance blew me away. if he doesn't win tonight, i will be totally fucking shocked.

Monday Night Raw was just as good as it was bad. i did like the ending though. Brock Lesnar beating the piss out of John Cena and then the handshake between Paul Heyman and Seth Rollins. hopefully that means some great things in the future. i heard the rumor that they are thinking about cutting the show back to 2 hours. that would be a very smart move as the writers obviously can't fill 3 hours at all.

i caught most of Men in Blazers. fucking hilarious as always. i did love their take on the Manchester United game.

tonight is yet another clusterfuck on television for me. Smackdown is live tonight, so i'll try to watch some of that. but, of course it will be on at the same time as The Voice finale and the New York Rangers game in Calgary. i tell ya, i'm going to get that damn Elvis wall of televisions sometime before i fucking die.

since mom wanted a few of the songs from The Voice last night, i had a little fun on iTunes today. i figure i hadn't bought anything from there for a few months, so it was ok. all the songs you'll see below came from there.

i think i'm going to start wrapping gifts tomorrow. i just use newspaper to do it. i try to avoid the obituaries... try.

if all that goes well for me, i may try to do a little writing and maybe get one last submission out there before the end of the year. i've got a few poems swimming in my head. at least the words are up there. i guess i need to turn them into something.

that's all for me today. it's supposed to start getting colder here again. almost like mother nature remembers it's supposed to be winter or something here. hopefully the heat in the great room keeps on working.

thanks again to all three of you for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
