Friday the 13th and a full moon, what could go wrong?...

i wish i had two tickets to paradise right now. rest in peace Eddie Money.

the grocery store was a bit of a zoo today. mom had scroll of things for me to get. i forgot to get the vinegar she wanted. of course i didn't realize that until i got home. she said don't worry about it. i figure she'll make me go get it in a couple days. i only spent $10 at the liquor store. of course, between my pills and the food, that was around $180. asshole's tariffs are hitting us now. good times.
(quick update... mom actually moved some things in the cabinet and found some vinegar. that made me laugh, given all the times i was scolded as a child for not looking hard enough for whatever my mother or father sent me off to find, usually in the fucking junk drawer. good times)

the New York Yankees won both games of the doubleheader yesterday in Detroit, 10-4 and 6-4. they start a series tonight in Toronto. the magic number is down to 5.

i did watch a little of Tampa's win over Carolina last night. to be honest, they both suck.

Big Brother was crazy last night. i guess Michie pulled off an elaborate lie and got Cliff and Nicole to change their minds and vote out Tommy. Nicole won HOH, so she's guaranteed to be in the final 3. Michie will need to win the VETO to have any damn chance to make the final 3.

Mr InBetween was very good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Murder in the Bayou, Real Time with Bill Maher and Room 104.

tonight is the start of my 25th class reunion. hard to believe i graduated high school that long ago. thankfully, i have no money, so i won't be going to any of the events. not that people will miss me or anything. i figured long ago my popularity in high school was due to drugs and alcohol.

i will be on here tomorrow before Ohio State plays at noon. i know Manchester United plays before Ohio State does, but it isn't on television, so i'll have to follow that online i suppose. here's a preview of that game, which i'm sure they'll fucking lose again.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

let's play two...

the New York Yankees got rained out last night in Detroit. so that means they play a doubleheader today. the Yankees magic number is down to 8 thanks to Tampa's loss last night. hopefully, the Yankees will win both games today.

NXT was really good last night. next week starts the live shows.

Big Brother was good last night. evil Nicole has finally appeared. it looks as though Holly might get evicted tonight. hopefully, that brings out a pissed off Michie.

the season finale of Songland was excellent last night.

the season finale of Snowfall last night was a fucking masterpiece. i absolutely can't wait for season 4.

In the Shadows of the Towers: Stuyvesant High on 9/11 was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother and Mr InBetween.

i did listen to episode 255 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:
https://soundcloud.com/notsamwrestling/matt-tremont-notsam

i will probably watch a little of the NFL game tonight, Carolina vs. Tampa Bay, hoping that both teams lose.

i'll be on here tomorrow after a trip to the grocery store.

i have a line for a poem stuck in my head. i was hoping the sadness of last night was going to flush that out, but that didn't happen. i imagine at some point this weekend, i'm going to have to force it out of my head.

i have an ice pack and a massage chair with my name on it calling me. i figure that is where i will be for most of the afternoon.

that's all for me kids. until tomorrow...

never forget...

i had a blog planned in my head... and then i just got the news that Daniel Johnston has died. one of my songwriting heroes. way too soon at just 58. thank you for the smiles my friend. rest easy.

i just got my laundry done before i started writing this. my back is killing me and i'm wiping tears. so, i have no clue how long this one will be.

the New York Yankees lost a crazy game to Detroit last night, 12-11. hopefully, they will win tonight, weather permitting.

Smackdown and 205 Live were both pretty good last night.

the season finale of Deadliest Catch was excellent last night.

Mayans M.C. was really good last night.

Mr. Mercedes was fucking awesome last night.

the USMNT and Uruguay finished 1-1 last night. i didn't watch much of the match.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, In the Shadow of the Towers: Stuyvesant High on 9/11, the season finale of Snowfall and the season finale of Songland. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network. i already watched NXT UK this afternoon. it was excellent.

that's all for me kids. i'll be on here tomorrow in the morning.

go tell someone you love them. i have some sadness i need to write out.

until tomorrow...

one of those games that takes a few years off your life...

the New Orleans Saints played like shit in the first half last night. i wasn't happy. thankfully, they made some adjustments and played much better in the second half. that is until they gave up the lead in the final minute of the 4th quarter in just 2 plays. but, the Texans left Drew Brees too much time and he did what future hall of fame quarterbacks do, win. he got the Saints in field goal position and Wil Lutz got off the kick of his life and drilled a 58 yard field goal as the Saints won 30-28. hopefully, this will be the start of a special season. the Saints have to go out west in week 2 and play at the Los Angeles Rams. that should be a good, hard early test for them.
oh yeah, the NFL admitted they fucked up another call last night against the Saints. and those assholes wonder why we think there's a fucking conspiracy against the team by the league.

Monday Night Raw was really good last night.

the New York Yankees defeated Boston last night, 5-0. they went 14-5 against the Red Sox this season. that's the best the team has done against Boston since the 1960's. and they eliminated Boston from having any chance to win the division. magic number is down to 9. they start a series tonight at Detroit.

The Deuce was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, the season finale of Deadliest Catch, Mayans M.C. and Mr. Mercedes. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the USMNT takes on Uruguay tonight. given how they played against Mexico, i doubt i will watch much of the friendly tonight.

it is hotter than shit today here. muggy as fuck as well. i got the trash already done. i had to go to the grocery store to pick up pills for mom and for me.

i think tomorrow is going to be laundry day for me. i'll probably be on here in the afternoon, hopefully after i'm done folding clothes.

that's all for me kids. i have an ice pack and a massage chair waiting for me.

may tonight be the start of a championship season...

before i start waxing poetic on how i want this to be the year the New Orleans Saints win another Super Bowl, a little poetry news to get to first.

i sent out 15 poems today; 4 to The Rye Whiskey Review; 5 to Synchronized Chaos (already accepted for publication) and 6 to Record Magazine. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.

the New Orleans Saints start their season tonight at home against the Texans. the Saints haven't won their opening game of the season in a long time. i want them to break that streak tonight. and i honestly feel like they have a team that could win the Super Bowl this season. i'd love to see them win again before i'm fucking dead.

the New York Yankees won last night over Boston, 10-5. they go for the series win tonight. magic number to clinch the division is down to 10.

Big Brother was good last night.

Succession was excellent last night.

The Righteous Gemstones was good last night.

Ballers was very good last night.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual.

Power was great last night.

The Affair was very good last night.

On Becoming A God in Central Florida took a little dark twist last night. very interesting.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Deuce. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the night.

i didn't sleep worth a fuck last night. for some reason, my body clock is still set on 7 in the morning. at least i did get a few hours napping in my massage chair.

i guess it's supposed to get back into the 90's here starting tomorrow. joy.

i'll be on here tomorrow after i get mom's pills from the store. she thought she got them on Saturday when my sister took her. instead, they only gave her 5 of them. i guess the other 175 will be ready by tomorrow. what a shit show.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

happy birthday to my sister...

today is my sister's birthday. i think she liked what mom and i got her. she left back for home this morning after breakfast. well, i had breakfast, my sister and mother don't exactly believe in it being the most important meal of the day.

i also found out this morning that today is the birthday of the woman i am madly in love with. what a coincidence.

i hope they both have wonderful days.

the New York Yankees defeated Boston yesterday 5-1. they play again tonight. the magic number to clinch the division is down to 11.

Ohio State whipped Cincinnati yesterday, 42-0. they play their first road game next week at Indiana.

i did watch a good number of college football games yesterday. i also watched Serena Williams choke away another final.

NJPW was excellent last night.

ROH was very good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Power, Succession, The Righteous Gemstones, Ballers, Last Week Tonight, The Affair and On Becoming A God in Central Florida.

after i take a shower, i will probably watch some of the NFL games today. i know my mother will be watching her New York Jets take on Buffalo. my sister's team is the Steelers. they take on the Patriots tonight. my team, the New Orleans Saints, play the Texans tomorrow night.

i think the poems will be going out tomorrow morning. so, i'll be on here after i get that done.

i hope everyone had a good Saturday. i hope your Sunday is even better.

not exactly how i wanted to start my weekend...

so, i got the preliminary report from my abdominal scan from yesterday. looks like my liver is slightly enlarged. no damage to my pancreas or my gall bladder. so, i'm interested to see what the scan of my liver showed. i'm guessing it will all lead to me being diagnosed with fatty liver disease. i should know by next month for sure. joy.

the New York Yankees lost last night to Boston, 6-1. i really wish the Yankees would give two shits about beating Boston. i know they are going to win the division, but for the fans, every fucking loss to Boston is like a punch to the dick. hopefully, the Yankees will win this afternoon.

the USMNT lost to Mexico last night, 3-0. to be honest, after Mexico scored the first goal, i stopped watching.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows. it looks like last night was the last broadcast on HBO. i believe the show is going to be picked up on Viceland, but i have no clue when that is going to happen. it's a shame that it was cancelled by HBO. easily, the best news program out there.

Real Time with Bill Maher was excellent last night.

the season finale of A Black Lady Sketch Show was hilarious last night. i can't wait for season 2.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW and ROH.

Ohio State plays today at noon. i'm hoping they do beat Cincinnati.

i will probably watch a good amount of college football games today and tonight. that should give me some time to catch up on some sleep and ice my bad back a few times.

my sister did make it down here last night. i think she's taking mom out today as mom forgot to call in some pills before i went to the grocery store yesterday.

since the New Orleans Saints play on Monday night, i probably won't be on here tomorrow until closer to the 1 PM games.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

the asshole gene...

my father blessed me with the asshole gene. and on these days, where my patience is thin, my arthritis is raging, i had 3 shits before 10:30 this morning and the incompetence of the world is driving me up a fucking wall... the asshole gene will eventually come out. the part of me that wants to see the world burn. the part of me that wants to run every fucking driver on their phone off a bridge. the part of me that wants to play with matches and gasoline. i'm not sure if any of you understand how difficult it is to control that fucker for 43 years. i'm not saying i deserve an award, but i'm not saying not to give me one either.

the grocery store was a fucking zoo today. how i managed to keep everything under $150 is beyond me.

i was up at 5:20 this morning. i made it to the hospital on time. the tech doing the ultrasound was this little blonde i would have broken in two. the whole process took twenty minutes. she was pressing hard enough that i knew as soon as i got home, i was going to have to shit. good times.

the New York Yankees start a series up in Boston tonight (weather permitting). i'd love to see them sweep all 4 games.

Big Brother went exactly how i wanted it to last night. Jessica got evicted. Nicole won HOH. Cliff won the VETO. and thank god, they finally evicted Christie from the house.

i did watch most of the NFL game last night. Green Bay defeated Chicago 10-3. at least the game made me feel like going to sleep was going to be pretty damn easy.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Real Time with Bill Maher and the season finale of A Black Lady Sketch Show.

the USMNT takes on Mexico tonight in a soccer friendly. i'd love to see the USA win, but i'm not holding my breath.

my sister is supposed to come down here tonight for her birthday weekend. that should be interesting.

i'm going to try to be on here tomorrow before Ohio State plays at noon.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

it's started to rain here now. nothing quite like having the bones of an old man. i knew it was going to rain when i walking into the hospital at 7 this morning. joy.

a trip to the store is now an event...

mom wanted to go out shopping today, mostly to get my sister some stuff for her birthday. i told her no problem, just let me know where she wanted to go. first, we went to the drugstore. after that, she wanted to go to Waffle House for lunch. and then, she wanted to go to the grocery store to get the stuff for my sister. my only complaint is my mother is so slow anymore. the 21st century certainly isn't for anyone that wants to take it easy. and by the time we got everything, she had no energy left. we might have been out for around 90 minutes or so. this is where i have to walk that fine line of being the good son and the asshole that gets on her to get out more. good times.

the New York Yankees won last night over the Texas Rangers, 4-1. they are off tonight and start a series tomorrow night in Boston. there's a pretty good chance the Yankees will clinch the division on this upcoming road trip.

NXT and NXT UK were both really good last night.

Songland was excellent last night. the season finale is next week.

Big Brother was good last night. it's double eviction time tonight. i'm pretty sure Jessica will be the first one to go tonight. after that, i would love to see Christie get evicted.

Snowfall had another HOLY FUCKING SHIT ending last night. i can't wait for the season finale next week.

the NFL starts back up tonight. the Bears are playing the Packers. i will probably watch some of the game.

i have to be up at the crack of dawn tomorrow. i have to be at the hospital by 7:15. they said the scan lasts for 30 minutes. so, with any luck, i might actually be able to get back home and eat breakfast at a decent time tomorrow.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow after a trip to the grocery store. i would have loved to do the grocery shopping today but the sales don't start until Friday. fuckers.

that's all for me kids. until tomorrow.

i remember why i don't like driving again...

i was up early this morning. i got a shower in and made it to my appointment early. i do this to mostly get this shit over with. by the time i was done, it was about the time my appointment was originally scheduled for.

the scan today was sort of like an ultrasound. but, the kicker is there's like a little punch to the wand they use because they want to see how the liver reacts to the wave the punch creates. so, imagine a toddler punching your ribs for about 15 minutes. they have to get 10 consecutive photos to have a successful scan. and when that set gets interrupted, you start back at 1. joy. even better, since i am a hairy guy, my hair was fucking up the gel they use, so i had to arch my back and basically try to enjoy the pain. so my next scan is Friday morning. that will be of my abdomen. i think i have to be at the hospital at 7:15 in the morning. joy.

the drive to this place wasn't bad, other than the fucking construction. i decided to take a different route home because i saw the construction on the other side of the highway. of course, i missed my turn on my way home, mostly because i wasn't paying much attention to anything, other than the slow ass drivers in front of me. i eventually made it back home and had breakfast this morning around 11:30.

i went to the bank this afternoon to make a deposit. i had to remind mom last night that she owed me a check. she completely forgot. i wish the credit card companies would forget to send the bill sometimes.

the New York Yankees won last night over Texas, 10-1. hopefully, they will win the series tonight.

Smackdown and 205 Live were both really good last night.

Deadliest Catch was excellent last night. the season finale is next week.

the season finale of Hard Knocks was good last night. i was a little surprised at some of the Raiders cuts.

The Shop was fucking great last night.

Mayans M.C. was really good last night. i can't wait to see what happens this season.

i wouldn't say fear, but trepidation is now upon us...

i am not exactly dreading my liver scan tomorrow morning. but i'm pretty sure having my first drink of alcohol at age 6 and still drinking at 43 hasn't done me any fucking favors. but, it is what it is.

i did write 4 poems last night. i typed those up and really, really like them. i then decided fuck it, it's only 2:30 in the morning, let's do some poetry work. so, i figured out where my next 15 poems are going. i will get those out sometime this week (hopefully).

for the first time in 220 games, the New York Yankees got shutout yesterday, losing to the Rangers, 7-0. that was the second longest streak in MLB history. hopefully, the Yankees will get a win tonight.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. i loved what Bray Wyatt did and i absolutely loved Bayley turning heel.

i only got 3 1/2 hours of sleep last night. i think i got a good 3 hour nap in this afternoon. i think the only time i got really good sleep was when i was doing drugs in high school. go figure.

enjoy some music:

happy labor day

i haven't held a job where i got a steady paycheck since i was 26. so when labor day rolls around each year, i always wonder to ever give a shit about it or not. my grandmother was a member of the teamsters and my father worked for the post office for almost 40 years. i'll stick to my way i suppose.

the New York Yankees were trailing yesterday going into the 8th inning 4-0. and then, the comeback began. and this is why i think this team has the chance to be special. the Yankees scored 3 in the 8th and then hit back to back home runs in the 9th to defeat Oakland, 5-4. it's the first time they have hit back to back home runs to win a game since 2009, the last time they won the World Series. i'd love to see history repeat itself this year. the Yankees start a series with the Texas Rangers this afternoon. hopefully, they will keep on winning.

Big Brother was pretty good last night.

Power was fucking great last night.

Succession was excellent last night.

The Righteous Gemstones was very funny last night.

Ballers was good last night.

The Affair was great last night.

On Becoming A God in Central Florida was good last night.

a cold look in the mirror each morning

my poem "a cold look in the mirror each morning" has been published at The Rye Whiskey Review. you can find the poem by going here: https://ryethewhiskeyreview.blogspot.com/2019/09/a-cold-look-in-mirror-each-morning-by.html

i could use more than just a nap these days...

it's always fun to wake up on a Sunday morning and realize you forgot to check your email before you went to bed. and the first email you happen to open is a rejection email from Hobo Camp Review on the poems you sent back in June. that usually gives me the right amount of piss and vinegar in my mouth for the rest of the day. joy.

Ohio State played an amazing first quarter yesterday against Florida Atlantic. my guess is they didn't want too much on film of all their new parts, so that's the reason they played like shit for the rest of the game. Ohio State won, 45-21. they play Cincinnati next week. they will have to play better to win that game.

the New York Yankees got 4 solo home runs yesterday. thankfully, that was enough to defeat Oakland 4-3 in 11 innings. they will go for the series win this afternoon.

NXT UK Takeover:Cardiff was great yesterday. it honestly felt like it was on par with the regular NXT Takeovers. and that match between Tyler Bate and Walter was off the charts fucking great.

i did watch a good amount of college football last night, including Aurburn's amazing win over Oregon.

ROH was very good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Power, Succession, Ballers, The Righteous Gemstones, The Affar and On Becoming A God in Central Florida.

i saw snippets from AEW's event last night. i can't wait for the Wednesday wrestling wars to begin.

i get the feeling i'm going to spend most of today trying to catch up on some sleep.

i have no clue when i will be on here for Labor Day tomorrow. if my recent pattern of shitty sleep persists, i'll probably get the blog done in the morning.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

donde las flores vienen a morir

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
