so, i tried to get the grocery shopping done early today as i wanted to see the baseball hall of fame ceremonies. as you can imagine, that meant everything that could possibly go sideways today would. especially today at Kroger. only 4 checkout lanes open and i was lucky enough to get a trainee cashier. oh fuck me. i had to put my credit card in 3 different times. good times. thankfully, i did get back home in time to see Derek Jeter's speech. as usual, the Captain didn't disappoint.
the Yankees lost last night to Toronto again, 5-1. more importantly, Gerrit Cole left his start early with a hamstring injury. if he misses any time, they are truly fucked. i hope they win tonight, but the worm has to turn for that to happen.
NXT was really good last night.
Deadliest Catch was a little crazy last night. two episodes remain for this season.
the season finale of Hard Knocks was excellent last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, AEW, Big Brother and American Horror Story: Double Feature.
the USMNT plays tonight in Honduras. they really need a victory tonight. i'll be shocked if they actually get it.
happy birthday to my sister. she'll be down here this weekend.
happy birthday to my friend in Colorado. i hope you have a wonderful day.
the dumb fucks around here put their trash out last night. they seem to have forgotten Labor Day was on Monday and trash won't be picked up until tomorrow. and today was windy. so there is fucking trash all over here. just lovely.
i have to pick ours up now and put it out.
i have no fucking clue when i will be on here tomorrow.
today is my sister's birthday. she turned __ today.
the funnier thing to me is that it finally hit me that the woman i am madly in love with also has a birthday today. small fucking world.
and speaking of women i was madly in love with, the former muse contacted me today for the first time in years. honestly, it feels like a lifetime ago now. she wanted to know if i was still alive. i had the feeling she was hoping there wouldn't be a response.
the Yankees were winning last night against the Blue Jays, 6-2. i was feeling pretty good. and then the 6th inning happened. the Blue Jays scored 10 runs to take the lead and eventually win, 12-7. remember when the bullpen was the strongest part of this team? me neither. that feels like a decade ago now. i'm tempted to not even watch them tonight. fuck me.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.
here are your highlights from the NBA last night:
here are your highlights from the NHL last night:
we had a big ass storm roll through here last night. thankfully, it didn't do too much damage to anything.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be the season finale of Hard Knocks, Axios, Deadliest Catch and NXT.
i'm sure i'll probably watch some of the NBA and NHL playoffs tonight as well.
the drive over to Indiana went pretty smoothly. the 19 miles or so from where i live to the Indiana border are under construction. honestly, they should just rip up the whole fucking thing and do it over. bumpy as fuck. thankfully, we left early enough as the directions weren't the best, but we did find the place with plenty of time before her appointment. i guess she broke her tooth off below the gum line. so, they had to dig out the rest of it. i wrote 15 poems while she was having this done. i'll type those up sometime tonight. i would have done it this afternoon, but i was busy running around trying to get prescriptions filled and someone wanted a frozen coke. it took the pharmacy a little over a hour to get the pills ready. and of course, the frozen coke machine at Burger King wasn't working. so, i got some frozen blue something or other. thankfully, she's been sleeping for most of the afternoon. as long as she doesn't swallow the fucking gauze...
my tomorrow is as fucking busy as today was. i'm hoping to get the blog done in the morning as i have a doctor's appointment in the afternoon. after i get done with that, i need to do the grocery shopping and then get the trash all picked up. joy.
until tomorrow kids...

Tina Turner - Proud Mary
Fleetwood Mac - Don't Stop
Tom Waits - The Piano Has Been Drinking (Not Me)
"Dad was convinced always that I was going to be a road sweeper." - Peter Sellers
and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:
today is my sister's birthday. i think she liked what mom and i got her. she left back for home this morning after breakfast. well, i had breakfast, my sister and mother don't exactly believe in it being the most important meal of the day.
i also found out this morning that today is the birthday of the woman i am madly in love with. what a coincidence.
i hope they both have wonderful days.
the New York Yankees defeated Boston yesterday 5-1. they play again tonight. the magic number to clinch the division is down to 11.
Ohio State whipped Cincinnati yesterday, 42-0. they play their first road game next week at Indiana.
i did watch a good number of college football games yesterday. i also watched Serena Williams choke away another final.
NJPW was excellent last night.
ROH was very good last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Power, Succession, The Righteous Gemstones, Ballers, Last Week Tonight, The Affair and On Becoming A God in Central Florida.
after i take a shower, i will probably watch some of the NFL games today. i know my mother will be watching her New York Jets take on Buffalo. my sister's team is the Steelers. they take on the Patriots tonight. my team, the New Orleans Saints, play the Texans tomorrow night.
i think the poems will be going out tomorrow morning. so, i'll be on here after i get that done.
i hope everyone had a good Saturday. i hope your Sunday is even better.
so i finally got my ankle to crack last night (think of like cracking a knuckle on your hand), only to have the pressure build right back up. not fun. it was supposed to rain today. so far, nothing. great.
the New York Yankees did something they haven't done all season last night, actually sweep a 3 game series. a 2-0 victory over the Blue Jays was exactly what they needed. they are now just 2.5 out of the wild card and amazingly, just 4 out of the division. they start a 4 game series with Tampa tonight at home. they need to keep winning.
NXT was pretty good last night. i'll never get tired of watching Nakamura wrestle. and oh, what my mind imagines when Ember Moon wrestles.
the CWC last night was excellent. the final 4 is now set for the live finale next week. Gran Metalik vs. Zack Sabre Jr. and TJ Perkins vs. Kota Ibushi. should be amazing.
Lucha Underground was great last night. i love how the show mixes in the vignettes with the wrestling. season 3 should be as good as the first 2 seasons were.
the season finale of Tyrant last night had a little bit of everything. i knew the son was going to get shot, but i didn't expect the cliffhanger. and, i suppose, there has to be a season 4 given that the war never actually started in the finale. but, i also expected another season of The Bridge and that never happened, so i don't know.
Big Brother was pretty funny last night. i was stunned that Corey won the POV so quickly. my best guess is that Natalie gets evicted tonight, much to the heartbreak of the producers and most of America.
Any Given Wednesday last night was basically the primer for the NFL season starting tonight.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Better Things and Impact Wrestling. i guess they are doing another crazy Hardy Boys match, so i'm only recording it for that.
the NFL season does start tonight with Denver hosting Carolina, a rematch of the last Super Bowl. i don't have any players from those teams on my fantasy teams, so i probably won't watch much of the game.
i did write 4 poems today to go with the 1 i wrote yesterday. i typed all 5 up this afternoon and really liked them. i should be doing another round of submissions in about a week or so.
first off, let me wish a happy birthday to my sister. she turns... like i'm going to say how old a woman is. one of those lessons you learn with time. i hope the wine goes down easy tonight.
another day in September where it feels like it is damn near 100 with all the fucking humidity. this is how hell feels i imagine. just when you should be getting ready to watch the leaves turn and enjoy apple cider, you need extra sunblock and the drinks never stay cold. but, you know, global warming is just some fucking myth.
the New York Yankees fell behind early yesterday, came back, lost the lead and then Greg Bird once again hit a HUGE home run to put the Yankees in the lead for good. a sloppy 8-6 win on a day where the Blue Jays got the shit beat out of them by the Red Sox. the difference is back to down a 1/2 game again. hopefully the Yankees can win again tonight.
Ohio State got off to a great start last night. and then, some mistakes, some db's falling asleep, and sure enough, they are trailing at halftime 17-14. thankfully, the Braxton Miller show started in the second half. he absolutely dominated catching and running the ball. and he had a spin move for the fucking ages last night. i did get a good laugh at halftime when they showed the Virginia Tech QB saying he was alright and it was going to take a hell of a lot more to knock him out. 2 plays later he broke his collarbone. there's a good lesson in karma kids. Ohio State gets their revenge from last season, winning 42-24. they won't really have another challenging game until November.
Monday Night Raw was ok last night. i sort of fast forwarded through all the shit i really didn't care about. this part though did have me laughing my ass off, remembering the Attitude era:
the Stone Cold Podcast after the show was excellent. i laughed for nearly the entire hour:
i got some FREE music on NoiseTrade today. i'll put those links down in the music section. now listen to some other music kids:
and now some of this and that:
tonight on the DVR will be Total Divas, the season finale of Hard Knocks, plus some other shit. i'll most likely be watching the USA take on Brazil tonight in a soccer friendly.
i am going to record the Late Show with Stephen Colbert and somehow work out a schedule to watch both him and Jimmy Fallon. i figure YouTube will play a role in that.
i've got the trash picked up. now i just have to decide when the fuck i'm going to take it down to the curb in this damn heat. i suppose midnight might work best.
got some words rumbling in my mind that will need to hit the paper soon. nothing concrete yet, but i've got a line that if i find the right one to go after it, look the fuck out.
that's all for me today. i hope everyone has recovered from the holiday weekend. if not, i'm sure there is a pill or app for that.
be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
