so, i have done my best as i have aged to be more optimistic. yesterday was an example why there will always be a part of me that knows such bullshit is a farce. Ohio State lost yesterday at home to Michigan, 13-10. Ryan Day has now lost 4 straight games to that team. that hasn't happened since the late 80's to early 90's. as i told my mother last night, he'd be lucky if his house wasn't burnt to the ground by this morning. while i do believe Ohio State will make the playoffs, i won't be shocked when they lose in the first round and everyone is fucking fired.
a delightful trip into the dark mind of an evil genius or simply the musings of an asshole

here we go...
so the contractor and project manager and the designer came out today to go over the plans for the kitchen. everything looks like it is good to go. they will be out here at 7:30 Monday morning to get started. now, how the fuck i'm going to be up at 7:30 on a Monday morning is a whole new ball of wax. considering i really don't get to bed until 4 AM most nights, oh boy. i was really relieved when he said we didn't need to move the kitchen table. and they seem like they should be able to get it done in under 2 weeks. i will be thrilled if they get it done that fast. i know the new countertops should be in by Thursday. and the contractor Joe seems like the kind of guy that wants to get shit done as fast as he can. that should definitely help with mom's anxiety. i'm just waiting for when the dishwasher goes in. fuck, i might cry.
i did watch plenty of that NFL game last night. Dallas came from behind to beat Seattle, 41-35.

welcome to December...
i always love waking up with a bad back and then nearly falling while trying to sit on the fucking toilet. in my 20's, that was due to way too much alcohol. in my 40's, it is the joy of arthritis and pain. one of these days, i'm bound to find something that will actually kill the pain before it kills me. or at least i fucking hope.
i did make it to the bank today. thankfully, there was no line in the drive-thru, so it was a pretty easy trip.
today at the World Cup, Morocco defeated Canada, 2-1. Croatia and Belgium finished 0-0. Germany defeated Costa Rica, 4-2. Japan beat Spain, 2-1. those results mean that Japan won Group E, with Spain finishing second. Germany failed to get out of the group stage for the second straight World Cup. Morocco won Group F and Croatia finished second. Belgium finished a disappointing third. Japan will play Croatia in the knockout round. Morocco will play Spain.

start the month off with pain...
so, i had to sit in on mom's physical therapy session yesterday. i didn't get the chance to write any poems. i guess mom's sciatic nerve is pinched. plus, her left shoulder has some problems as does her right hip. at least she has the same physical therapist as she did two years ago. so, he knows what he's gotten himself into.
it is raining today, so this truly is the house of misery.
The Voice was good last night. i was a little surprised at one of the eliminations last night. but, the 3 i picked for the finals are still in it...

welcome to December...
i think we ended up with around 2 inches of snow, maybe. it warmed up enough today that most of it that wasn't on the grass has melted. but, it did get cold enough that my arthritis was having fun last night. good times.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.

of course it would be raining...
so, the muse and i talked last night and yesterday some. she wouldn't tell me anything other than she had to turn herself in this morning at 11 AM. i'm assuming she has done that. this morning she asked me if i could get a Uhaul and come see her. mind you, i have no fucking clue where she is. you would have thought my response to her was to go fuck herself because that was her reply to me. i told her that given my mother's condition, i didn't think it was possible. she told me to fuck off, i am full of nothing but empty words and she will never forget or forgive. so, in roughly 6 months or so, i've seen friendships of over 20 and 15 years respectively fizzle out over the unfortunate circumstances the friend finds themselves in and my inability to just snap my fucking fingers and fix it. how the fuck is this my life? now, i'm not fully convinced the muse will never speak to me again, like she has done with countless other "friends" in her life, but i wouldn't be surprised if it was either. as much as i love the muse, you can truly tell she is an only child and has no clue about the words compromise, understanding or friendship. so yeah, my life is fucking full of bad mojo at the moment. joy.
the grocery store yesterday was fucking crazy. mom went with me since she had to fix the pharmacy's fuck up with her Medicare part B. i guess the names didn't match exactly on her prescription and her Medicare account. one had her middle initial and the other had her middle name. this took nearly a fucking hour to fix. good lord. the rest of the shopping took another hour as mom moves incredibly slow anymore. while we were standing in line, she told me she understands why i hate the grocery store. i laughed and said, sure, you don't have to deal with it as much as i have to now.
the Dayton Flyers lost last night at home against Mississippi State, 65-58. you would never know that Dayton was up by 3 at halftime and had a 7 point lead with something like 6 minutes left in the game. and with the stupid mistakes the team made in the final minutes, i really am starting to believe i have forgotten more basketball than Dayton's coach has ever learned. that's 3 losses in a row now. my fear that started last year has surfaced again, especially with the number of fans i heard talking about how good the game was and how Dayton will get them next time, etc... i absolutely hate that it seems to be that everyone has settled with being okay with mediocrity. makes no fucking sense to me.
we went to Waffle House after the game. i could still taste the onions this morning.
but i somehow lost weight from yesterday to today. makes no damn sense to me.
VICE was very good last night.
NJPW was good last night.
Mike Judge Presents: Tales From the Tour Bus last night was part 1 of the James Brown story. it was great.
both episodes of Room 104 were brilliant last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live and ROH.
the New York Rangers play tonight in Montreal. hopefully, they will play good enough to win tonight.
Ohio State plays Northwestern tonight for the Big Ten title. i'm expecting total chaos today in college football. best scenario for Ohio State is Alabama wins, Texas wins and Ohio State blows out Northwestern. that "should" put Ohio State in the top 4 and in the playoffs. a not as great scenario is Alabama wins, Oklahoma and Ohio State wins. that would put Oklahoma in the playoff and Ohio State in the Rose Bowl, screwing that school up north out of that. if Georgia defeats Alabama today, then i think the top 4 will stay the same as i don't think they have the guts to drop Alabama to 5 with a loss. all in all, i just really want Ohio State to win tonight. the rest will take care of itself.
Manchester United plays in a little bit at Southampton. i'd love to see United win, but i'm not holding my breath.
we were up to 1.2 inches of rain when i went out to get the paper this morning. i wouldn't be shocked if we are on our way to 3 inches of rain by now.
i'm running on not much sleep at the moment. my body is running on coffee, hatred and depression at the moment. and the more i get sick of this fucking life, the better the poems get. it's that fine line where i will eventually slip and hopefully die.
i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money, especially if you happened to be booked into jail this morning...

where the hell did November go?
Gotham was fucking great last night. i can't wait for the Winter finale next week.
The Big Bang Theory was very funny last night.
Young Sheldon was good last night.
Life in Pieces was hilarious last night.
The season finale of The Chris Gethard Show was pure fucking chaos. i loved it. i can't wait for the show to come back in March.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and NJPW.
the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Carolina. i believe their Captain will be back tonight. of course, their number 1 center is out with a concussion. i'm hoping the last game was just a blip on the radar and not a sign of things to come.
all of the rest of what i ordered for Christmas arrived today. of course, the genius fucking mailman set everything right in front of the door. there's plenty of fucking room off to the side where i wouldn't have to push them out of the way to open the door. so i guess i can get started on the Christmas cards now.
i will probably be on here tomorrow in the morning, long before (hopefully) Manchester United plays Arsenal.
i hope everyone has a great weekend.

ah, the dull skies of December
i didn't sleep well at all last night. i woke up at 3 in the morning and couldn't fall back asleep. it took a combination of soccer and porn to finally do the trick. of course, that only lasted for 2 hours. i figure one of these days exhaustion will catch up with me and either kill me or make me Rip Van Winkle. i'd prefer death if those are my only options.
Lucha Underground was excellent last night.
NXT was pretty good last night.
Total Divas had me laughing my ass off last night. at least i know The Miz is paying the price for marrying over his head.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Big Bang Theory and Life in Pieces.
i'll probably watch some of the football game tonight between Dallas and Minnesota.
the New York Rangers play tonight in Buffalo. hopefully they can get another win tonight.
i did listen to the latest Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast today. great interviews with Finn Balor and Daniel Bryan. you can find the podcast on iTunes and Stitcher and many other places.
i've got dishes to do kids, so that's all for me today.

let's start the month off with an adventure
i left out the morning adventure of taking mom to this outpatient place to bring them a stool sample. mom has no sense of smell anymore. i'm not that lucky.
after Best Buy we went to lunch. our waitress might have been 4 feet tall. but she had a crazy body, expect some poems about that before too long. on the way home from lunch, my stomach decided to rumble and make life interesting. driving home while trying to not think about shitting your pants isn't a new experience for me. just my luck, the new toilet we got didn't come with a seat for some fucking reason. and the one on there isn't a good fit for my fat ass, so i'm still shitting in my mother's bathroom. thankfully, no shit ended up on the carpet. good times.
welcome to the life of a poet people.
the New York Rangers ended their losing streak last night but are still playing shit hockey. and now the injuries are starting to pile up. still, i'll gladly take the 2 points from a 4-3 win over Carolina.
i thought The Voice last night was really good. i have no fucking clue who is going home tonight.
Monday Night Raw was more of the same old shit. some really good stuff (The New Day and a flashback to ECW 20 years ago) and a whole bunch of throw some shit against the wall and hope something sticks.
thankfully, Gotham last night was as close to perfect as a show can come. every second of it was awesome. the ending had me right on the edge of my seat. i can't wait for the show to come back in February.
enjoy some music kids:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, The Muppets, Scream Queens and the special on AIDS by VICE tonight on HBO.
i think whatever little cold mom had she has now given it to me. fucking great.
that's all for me today. i need to get the trash picked up and get next door and get their trash as well. good times.
i hope everyone is doing better than i am. if not, i suppose that's why they invented alcohol.
be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

the calm before the storm
the New York Rangers played a great game last night, defeating Chicago 2-1. Cam Talbot was great in goal, and should have got the shutout. he had 2 amazing saves in the final seconds to keep the game from going to overtime. they next play in Philly on Saturday.
here's some funny shit from Jimmy Fallon:
i did watch the new episode of The Big Bang Theory last night. always funny. that show is so well written.
as for tonight, i'm sure i'll be bouncing around some basketball and hockey games, all while watching the tree house show most likely and whatever is on the Food Network as well. and probably a healthy dose of Weather Nation as well.
i do know a storm is coming. i can feel it in my bones. i'm amazed i haven't taken another pain pill today. my left arm has been killing me. but, i did have a little fun watching the cats enjoy the sunshine today. we must not have any coyotes on the property anymore as the cats were all over the fucking place today. up in trees, down by the creek, and then they of course shit in unison in the backyard. i imagine there will be some poems from that.
i'll be on here tomorrow in the afternoon most likely. the Dayton Flyers play a MUST WIN game at 11 in the morning. at this rate, with how i feel, there is no chance in hell i'll be going to that game. i believe it is on ESPNU. so, hopefully i'll be enjoying a victory beer while on here tomorrow.
hard to believe it is the end of the month already. hopefully everyone has enjoyed my subtle black history month tributes.
i hope this finds everyone well. hope everyone has a great weekend and hopefully mother nature doesn't fuck any of us in the ass this weekend.
peace and chicken grease...

way too busy for a Sunday
Manchester United played Tottenham to a 2-2 draw this morning. i wasn't thrilled with the first goal United gave up. but, the second was a absolute beauty. just tip your hat there. i was very pleased that Wayne Rooney was able to equalize both times United fell behind. take the point and move on. especially when you are on the road facing a good club.
Ohio State beat Michigan yesterday 42-41. the defense stunk but the running game of the offense absolutely emasculated Michigan's defense. i completely understand why the Michigan coach went for 2 instead of going to overtime. he didn't want to see his sorry ass defense embarrassed anymore. and given that later in the day Auburn upset Alabama on one of the craziest fucking endings i have ever seen in college football, Ohio State should be in position to play for a national championship this season. just need to beat Michigan State in the Big 10 title game.of course, the national media doesn't want it to play out like that... but if you ever want to see the NCAA go away forever, keep an undefeated Ohio State team out of playing for a national championship. heads will roll.
the New York Rangers played a surprisingly strong game and beat Vancouver 5-2 yesterday. i was so damn happy for Chris Kreider to get his first career hat trick against the coach that was too fucking stubborn to play him last season. highlights below:
ROH was excellent last night. Steve Corino had me laughing all throughout the broadcast with his commentary. and the match between Cole and Jacobs was top notch. as was the match between Richards and Strong.
here in a bit i will be sitting my ass in front of the big screen and watching football for the rest of the day. i have so many guys playing tomorrow night that i'm not too stressed about what happens today in fantasy football. now, mind you, i'll still bitch up a storm if my players aren't doing anything, but nothing will be decided until the Monday night game is over.
if i am somehow still awake this evening, i will be watching Homeland, Masters of Sex, and Total Divas. and probably a bit of the Sunday night game as well. my opponents this week have players in that game. fun.
no sight of my cat Irvine Welsh this morning, so i am now placing her on the dead list. i haven't seen her in a month. she was the cat who last had kittens, so i'm guessing she died either by the claws of another animal or simply ran away to get away from those kittens. only one kitten survived, so i hope that one does good as a loner.
on a positive note, it has warmed up a bit here. might even hit the 40's all day long. holy shit after a week in the 20's.
hope this finds everyone well. i do hope you survived the huge shopping weekend and don't fall for the cyber Monday scams. and always know that if you'd like to buy anything off of my Amazon.com wish list, you are more than welcome to do so. i am not too proud to beg.
if you didn't see, please check out the new poem that was published today in the previous post. it is one that i am pretty proud of. not sure where it came from or who i was thinking of when i wrote it, but it did come out a winner.
enough of my rambling. i have sports to watch.
