one of the downsides of being a sports fanatic is when all of your teams get on a bad streak at the same time, it takes every ounce of your existence not to be a complete asshole to the world. and after this past weekend, all my ounces are used up it seems. thankfully, i'm going to spend most of today out mowing grass.
of course, we're having water problems out here on the farm as well right now. i'm concerned that the well is maybe starting to dry up. or maybe the well pump has gone bad. or maybe the hot water heater is getting ready to blow. or maybe i'm going to be in a hotel tonight to be able to shit and shower. good times. the place we called wasn't sure if they could make it out here today. lovely.
the Derek Jeter day ceremonies were great yesterday. plenty of names came out. seeing Michael Jordan was a bit of a surprise. Jeter of course was spot on the money with his comments. fittingly, the Yankees lost the game 2-0, which is basically the last nail in the coffin of their season. hard to lose a series with not giving up an earned run in the two losses. but this Yankees team manages to do the unthinkable. hopefully 2 seasons in a row without the playoffs will start to change some things.
the Saints lost in overtime yesterday. i was really disappointed with the defense. just plain awful.
as for my fantasy teams, they followed suit. under performed at nearly every position. i'm trailing in both matches by a large enough margin that i really won't give a shit about the two games tonight. thankfully, my picks went pretty good.
the shows on Sunday night were excellent. Big Brother had the engagement of Jeff and Jordan. hard to believe they are still together after 5 years. Boardwalk Empire was great. i think they did an excellent job of setting up the final season. The Strain was awesome. that show just keeps getting better and better. Last Week Tonight had me laughing. Total Divas was good. i mostly watched for the behind the scenes shit and Rosa Mendes. she's one of my favorites, if you know what i mean. Ray Donovan was good once again. Masters of Sex was good as well, although i did fall asleep after 20 minutes. amazingly, i woke up at the end of it and was awake long enough to see what i missed before i fell asleep again. the ending of the show was excellent.
tonight i'll be watching Monday Night Raw. i'm really looking forward to the steel cage match between Y2J and Bray Wyatt tonight. that should steal the show.
i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade this morning. if you haven't heard of Justin Townes Earle, please crawl out from under that rock and enjoy. i'll provide the link below.
i need to go get the mail and the trash cans picked up so i can start mowing grass this afternoon. most of the grass won't take me long. sadly, there are parts of the backyard that are well over a foot high. at least it's not supposed to be hot and humid this afternoon. the backyard is probably going to take up most of my time out there.
that's all for me today. i hope everyone had a great weekend. thanks for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.
be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
take it easy and then take it again...

a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my sister. i'll try to give you a call before i get my usual sunburn from mowing the grass. i would say how old she is but i learned a long time ago that some women don't like that. so, let's just say she looks younger than she is. enjoy your wine.
