response from Mad Swirl

i heard back from the good folks at Mad Swirl on my poetry submission from back in October. my poem "i think i love her" has been accepted for publication. it will be posted on January 19th.

busier than 9 cats covering up shit in a windstorm part whatever

so when the grocery store called this afternoon to tell us our prescriptions were ready, mom warned me. one of her pills has a comma in the price, so be prepared. ok, great. i got to the store and gave the woman the info. i had 5 things coming, mom had 6. oh joy. the woman looked at the prices for the drugs for my mom and was like sir, do you know how much these cost? i laughed and said yes, i came prepared. i broke out my credit card with the highest limit and when it was all said and done, the total was just under $2,000. nothing like walking out of a pharmacy with 2 grocery bags of drugs. so, tomorrow morning i get to wake up, piss and then go check my blood sugar. good times.

i completely forgot that Gotham was coming back on last night. thankfully, i was able to watch it this morning online. it was excellent as usual.

i'm all in on The Young Pope. the second episode last night was great. i love the subtle humor and just how bizarre or surreal all of it can be at times. plus, the storyline of a vicious pope who is pissed because he was an orphan and now wants to take it out on the people is excellent.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. i'm thrilled that Kurt Angle is going in the Hall of Fame. plus, this year's Royal Rumble looks like it could be an instant classic.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown and Taboo. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Dallas. hopefully they can get a damn win tonight.

i've been doing my laundry today on top of everything else. i still haven't even read the damn paper or picked up the trash here yet. now you know why the title of this post is what it is.

i did listen to the latest Jim Norton and Sam Roberts Podcast today. it was hilarious. you can find it by going here: https://soundcloud.com/jimandsamshow/ep-009-jims-weekend-d-bags-sexy-voice

i think tomorrow might be the day i decide to torture myself and go get my driver's license renewed. who knows, i might have something interesting to talk about after that. or at least write about.

that's all for me kids. i have shit to do, clothes to fold, trash to collect...

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

response from Your One Phone Call

i heard back from Dai at Your One Phone Call on my poetry submission from two weeks ago. my poems "all the magic is gone" and "that taste" have been accepted for publication. they are scheduled to appear on March 15th and April 25th. also, my poems "father time never loses", "the center of your soul" and "from any nightmare" have been accepted for publication at In Between Hangovers.

yet another dreary day

i thought i was doing everything pretty much correctly. i've cut way down on the amount sugar i put in my body. of course, being a writer, exercise really isn't part of the lifestyle. so when the doctor told me this morning my A1C was the same as last time, i wasn't very happy. so now i get to take another drug with the drug i'm currently taking and i get to stick myself every morning and check my numbers. oh goody. good thing my birthday is coming up. increases the chances of me just drinking myself to death.

i did watch some of both football games yesterday. that Dallas vs. Green Bay game was definitely an instant classic. the conference championship games coming up on Sunday should be good.

Manchester United got a draw with Liverpool yesterday, 1-1. Paul Pogba had a regrettable game, as did much of the United team. thankfully, Zlatan came through once again. i tried to be happy after the game, but honestly, it felt like 2 points lost.

The Young Pope was crazy last night. i'm not sure yet if i'm really going to like the show or not.

Homeland was good last night. it looks like they thought Hillary was going to win as well.

The Affair was excellent last night. i can't wait to see what happens in the next 2 episodes.

day 2 of the WWE UK Championship tournament was fucking great. each match was better than the last one. i was absolutely thrilled with the storytelling and the commentary. the final match between Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate was a classic. and to think that Tyler Bate is only 19 years old. he is definitely the future of the business. hopefully they shoot him to the moon now that they have him as champion.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Young Pope. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening. i might sneak in a little college basketball as well.

so i go back to the doctor in 3 months. hopefully the pill he puts me on works. i know the next time i have to give some more blood samples. fun fun fun. thanks again to my mother for the gift of Type 2 diabetes.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. i know mine could have been so much better.

a night to forget

i wrote yesterday in this blog how Montreal is a house of horrors for the New York Rangers. last night was the perfect fucking example. the Rangers were up 3-2 in the 3rd period and Montreal scored 3 goals in 62 seconds to eventually win the game 5-4. it usually takes the Rangers a few years to score 4 goals on Carey Price, so it's incredibly disheartening to see them score 4 on him and still find a fucking way to lose. that building could burn to the fucking ground and i wouldn't shed one damn tear.

the Dayton Flyers started off great yesterday and did pretty much what i wanted them to do. of course, since they won, someone had to get injured in the process. hopefully Kyle Davis didn't sprain his ankle too bad. Dayton won yesterday over Duquesne 76-57. their next game is at home against league leading Richmond. since Dayton hasn't posted any video from the game, here's Duquense's coach talking about how his team got emasculated.

the WWE UK tournament yesterday was fantastic. i really enjoyed the matches and i thought Nigel McGuinness did a great job on commentary. i can't wait to see who wins the tournament later today. the obvious choice would be Pete Dunne, but i wouldn't be surprised if the WWE did a little swerve either.

Saturday Night Live was really good last night. i might have enjoyed Sturgill Simpson a little more than the comedy though.

ROH was excellent last night. it was good to see Cody Rhodes wrestle again.

Austin City Limits was much better than i thought it was going to be last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Young Pope, Homeland and The Affair.

i will probably also watch some of the NFL playoffs today as well.

of course, all of that depends on how Manchester United vs. Liverpool turns out. i really hope United drops the hammer on them today.

i'm not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. i have a doctor's appointment in the morning and at some damn point this week i have to get my driver's license renewed. oh goody.

i hope everyone had a good Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

you ever get rejected in your dreams

i had a pretty restless night. i'm pretty sure i did nothing but toss and turn all fucking night. my television is set to turn off after 4 hours. i always love waking up before it turns off. beyond fucking frustrating. we didn't have any ice this morning. when i went out to get the paper, it was more of a freezing mist in the air that wasn't touching the ground. so maybe we won't get much of anything today.

the New York Rangers lost last night to Toronto 4-2. once again, they fell behind early and couldn't dig themselves out of the hole. they play tonight in Montreal. that building is a house of horrors for them, so i'm not expecting much.

Vice News Tonight had another excellent week of shows.

NJPW was great last night. they showed the main event from Wrestle Kingdom 11, Okada vs. Kenny Omega. i now understand what all the talk was about. it was an incredible match. it easily ranks in the top 10 of all time of pro wrestling matches i have seen.

i nearly forgot Treehouse Masters was on last night. i recorded the late showing of it and watched it this morning. it was pretty cool to see the treehouse they built, even though i didn't care much for the episode.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live, Austin City Limits and ROH.

the Dayton Flyers play at noon today at Duquesne. this is a game they really need to win. they are a better team and really need to show it today.

i'm really interested in watching the WWE UK Tournament today. it will be on the WWE Network today and tomorrow. 16 of the best wrestlers in the UK vying to be the first WWE UK Champion. there definitely should be some amazing matches.

the NFL playoffs are back on today as well. i'm sure i will watch some of those the next two days as well.

i'm going to try to be on here tomorrow before Manchester United takes on Liverpool. i figure i better do the blog before the game because who the fuck knows what i'll be like after the game.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

you'd think the world was ending

i think last night might have been my breaking point. between the pain, loneliness, depression, who the fuck knows what else... i cried myself to sleep last night. lately, solitude has been my therapist. and instead of the usual talking myself to sleep, last night was tears. i woke up this morning wondering when the poems would be coming. none yet.

i guess mom had been up since 4 in the morning. she told me that the coffee was ready, as was the cinnamon rolls. i was still sleepy, taking a piss. i went out to the kitchen and the first thing i saw was the grocery list. i had 4 things listed on it. mom had added 30. fuck me. now, i thought, i get to be like all the other assholes that will be shopping because an ice storm is coming and we could lose power and then the world will end, etc. etc. needless to say, i was not happy. more on the grocery store in a bit.

Life in Pieces was fucking hilarious last night.

Fuck, That's Delicious was great last night. they were in Oakland and San Francisco, two cities i'll probably never get to go to.

Lip Sync Battle was pretty good last night.

Caraoke Showdown is just stupid enough that i will probably like it. think Cash Cab but instead of trivia, you're singing.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Treehouse Masters and NJPW.

so when the grocery store finally called to say my pills were ready, i went. i fully expected a shit show and that's exactly what i got. parking was all the way out to the gas station. fuck me. the last time it was like this, it was New Year's Eve. thankfully, as i was looking for a spot, i saw a guy taking carts inside, so i knew i wasn't going to have look for one of those as well. i circled back and found a spot nearly on the damn road. i suppose my fat ass could use the exercise. i got a cart and went to get my pills. i noticed the woman i have written about before was working. please let me get her. please let me get her. please... fuck. no, instead i got the gay guy. welcome to my life. i got everything on the list and kept the total to under $70. i didn't hit the liquor store up. i figure next week will be my birthday and i will bring a basket along.

the ice is supposed to hit tonight into tomorrow morning. i have no clue how bad it is going to be. they usually make these things sound so horrific on the news and then it's nothing.

the order mom placed with Omaha Steaks came today, so at least i won't have to run out and get any fast food for awhile.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Toronto. hopefully the rest did them some good and they get a win tonight. i need a fucking drink.

i will try to be on here tomorrow in the morning. if the ice is bad, i'll try to get some pictures. the Dayton Flyers play at noon tomorrow, so i'd like to be on here before that. plus the WWE's UK Tournament starts tomorrow afternoon, and i'm definitely watching that.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. remember, only fuck the ones that cough.

driving in the rain

it's been some time since i was caught driving in one of these classic Midwestern holy shit storms. but, i was trying to get some shit done today and got caught in a storm that made me laugh. i could barely see anything it was raining so bad. of course, i kept driving. i figured i was on roads i knew like the back of my hand, so i'm good; just slow down. plus, i figured the rain would get all the salt and dirt off of the vehicle. of course, i wasn't planning on another downpour hitting as i was at the takeout window placing an order. that was fun.

i sent out 15 poems today. 6 each to ZYX and Beautiful Losers and 3 to Yellow Mama. when i hear back from these places i will pass on the verdicts.

after i left the post office, i was on a mission to find some cheap picture frames. i only found 2 of the 5 i needed, so i guess a trip to a craft store is coming up soon. mom wanted me to get some cash out of her account. thankfully her bank has an ATM in the next town over. that's way better than driving 20 miles out into the sticks to get the money.

the arthritis in these rain storms is almost a dull ache anymore. what that tells me is my pain tolerance is still top notch. of course, it's not fun when the arthritis is bad enough that typing and writing is a fucking chore.

i was really looking forward to the Dayton Flyers game last night. they were getting back their best player and was playing at a place they haven't won in the regular season since 2004; the perfect time for revenge. instead, Dayton went out and played like absolute shit. foul trouble, turnovers, stupid fucking decisions, more turnovers, did i mention turnovers? (Dayton had 19 turnovers in the game). that all lead to a 67-55 loss to UMass that never really felt that close. Dayton plays again on Saturday at Duquesne, so hopefully they get this bad taste out of their mouth quickly. the A10 is full of landmines this season, and Dayton just hit one last night.

the mid-season finale of Lucha Underground had a few holy shit moments last night. the show comes back in the summer.

NXT was excellent last night. i could watch The Revival wrestle #D.I.Y. all day long and never get bored.

Total Divas was fucking ridiculous as usual.

enjoy some music:

i guess my sister's job interview went well this morning. she's supposed to hear back by next week if she's got the job or not. i think she wants it as i don't think she wants to be unemployed too long. i believe her financial planner is thinking the same thing.

i know i have to go to the grocery store tomorrow as i have my own pills to pick up. plus, since there's a damn ice storm coming Friday night, it should be a shit show of panicky motherfuckers buying groceries like the world is coming to an end. i'll be in the liquor store, that's for sure.

testing my patience

so i ended up going to the funeral today. i was a little surprised that mom lasted as long as she did. we didn't go to the cemetery but we were at the funeral home for almost 2 hours. i saw most of my cousins and whatnot. i didn't talk much as i certainly wasn't in the mood. when the service started, the cousin that molested me sat right in front of me. all i could think was pure fucking evil. i used to laugh when god would shove this shit in my face. now, it's just infuriating. i found it quite interesting that my mother never got mentioned at all in the service. i suppose that answers my question from the other day. purely selfish. these are the days i like to slink away with a book and a bottle of something strong. one day i'll make Dylan Thomas look like an amateur.

but, i survived it all. mom is certainly feeling the effects of being out for that long. she'll spend the rest of the day on her back with an ice pack. my sister is already back on the road home. she leaves for a cruise this weekend i believe. i think she gets back on my birthday.

so that's enough family for me for quite some time.

we had thunderstorms roll through here last night. the satellite was fucked up for about 20 minutes or so. it happened right as the President was starting to give his farewell address. i guess mother nature is a Trump supporter.

Smackdown was pretty good, for what i actually got to see. i wish they would have done the Cena match differently, but he likes to bury young talent as well.

205 Live was really good. i think they are really starting to find a groove on the show.

Taboo was interesting last night. it is certainly a very dark show. i did like that it looked like 1814 London and was pretty accurate for the period. Tom Hardy's character is beyond tortured. it was a bit of a mind fuck at times, but i enjoy that. i certainly will be back for the next episode.

nothing like listening to the wind roar

in typical Ohio winter, it got warmer today and melted all the snow. that was. of course, after we had an ice storm. now the wind is whipping around 40 mph or so. sure enough, i have to put the trash out later. can't wait to see where it ends up.

i have no clue if i'm going to the funeral tomorrow or not. mom isn't feeling well and if she ends up going, i doubt she stays long. and i'm her ride, so... my sister is coming down in the morning. she was able to get a job interview changed so she could be at the funeral.

i did write another poem late last night. i typed up all 8 poems this morning. i really like a few of them. i need to get another round of submissions out, but i may wait until i get a little closer to my birthday.

if any of you feel inclined to get me something for my birthday, you can always check my Amazon.com Wish List. it's on the right hand side of the blog. cash works as well.

i was looking forward to Monday Night Raw last night. needless to say, when i fell asleep during it, i was disappointed. now, i was awake to see Chris Jericho with the US Title last night. that made me happy, although it probably means Roman Reigns is going to win the Universal Title from Kevin Owens at the Royal Rumble. boo.

i did watch the last quarter of the Alabama vs. Clemson game last night. at least Ohio State lost to the team that won the championship.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown and Taboo. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

Manchester United won 2-0 today at home against Hull City. it was the first leg of the EFL Cup semi-finals. United probably could have had half a dozen goals today if they would have gotten a little luck and if they were more clinical. Juan Mata and Marouane Fellaini scored in the second half. the second leg will be played in 16 days. United next plays Liverpool on Sunday.

that's all for me today kids. i have trash i need to get picked up. i don't think i need to go next door as they have had way too many people over there already today.

i guess i'm too bitter to be naive

i really have no clue why it took my uncle's family so god damn long to get him into hospice. was it that they were too fucking naive about cancer and death? were they so fucking selfish that they had to have him at home? it never made any damn sense to me, but it was never my place to say anything. so my uncle went to hospice yesterday. they cleaned him up and 10 minutes later he was dead. i figured his goal was to make it to Christmas and since he achieved that, it shouldn't be too long... the service is on Wednesday. i'm not looking forward to it. my uncle died without ever knowing what one his daughters did to me. now, i put that on my mother since she chose to not tell anyone about it. so, there's an ocean of feelings for me going into this one. i respected my mother's wishes of not telling him myself, but now i get to spend a funeral where the cousin that molested me will be just a few feet away. the stages of grief, they are all fucked up for me. i went a quarter century not being around my uncle, always thinking that my mother and father had told him why. and then to think that we moved next door to him so he could live out his final days around his sister. i have no fucking clue if we are staying here or not now. i was thinking in the car today that there's probably only 5% of me that's left that doesn't want to die. i have no fucking clue how much longer i can live for that 5%. and i know damn well Wednesday is going to be a shit show where i'm supposed to have a brave face on and not embarrass anyone or make a scene. it's not easy for me to swallow everything that has happened to me and pretend it never fucking existed in the first place. it's even harder when you know the people that are supposed to love you simply don't give a shit. and to think all i ever really wanted was for someone to say i'm sorry. nearly 35 years later, i doubt sorry fucking cuts it now. and when i've exhausted the poems about it, where the fuck do i go from there? so yeah, the funeral will be on Wednesday. i'll be highly medicated.

i thought The Golden Globes was pretty good last night. being a very liberal person, i enjoyed all the shots at the incoming king. i would say president, but i know better. i was really happy for Donald Glover. i thought Atlanta was a really amazing show. the two awards last night proved it.

The Affair was a bit of a holy fuck episode last night.

the football games went how i expected them to last night. next week's games should be better.

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

sure, i know Alabama is playing Clemson tonight for the national championship. if Ohio State was playing, i'd be watching. i suppose the football game will be on during commercials.

i did write 7 poems today, shocker. i certainly wasn't in the mood to type them up. maybe i'll do that later tonight.

i got the artwork i ordered from Etsy today. it's fucking awesome. here's a link to the shop:
https://www.etsy.com/shop/JamesLinckeCreations

i went to the grocery store this afternoon, mostly just to get out of the damn house. for most of the time i was in the store, i was sort of like a zombie. but then i happened to turn up an aisle and be behind this beautiful black woman wearing tight sweatpants. something about watching as ass shake that snaps you right out of being a zombie. yes, the poem is already written.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays. and i will probably have some more poems written and all of them typed up (hopefully).

my mom is depressed, which i completely understand. as i wrote today, sometimes when we grow old we enter a perpetual state of grief. i'm only 40, so i don't know if there's any fucking way out of it yet.

well, that came out of nowhere

i started to watch the New York Rangers game last night and within a blink of the eye, they were down 2-0. i started thinking, well, at least i have other things i can watch. and so i did. now, i would check on the score every few minutes, but that stopped when Columbus was up 4-1. for shits and giggles, i decided to check back twenty minutes later and the score was 4-2. then i could hear mom say from the next room, as she gets the score updates on her phone, it was now 4-3. i resisted the temptation to flip to the game as the documentary i was watching was nearly over. and then i heard 4-4. i started to chuckle. the documentary ended and i flipped to the game and holy shit, the Rangers now had the lead 5-4. and there was just a few seconds left. i laughed. Columbus was so proud of their winning streak and now has lost 2 in a row. they had a record crowd there last night, which i guarantee included a few thousands of Rangers fans. that kind of victory is the perfect way to go into their bye week. hopefully in the time off they get some guys healthy and come back on fire.

the documentary i was watching was Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds. it was hilarious as much as it was somewhat sad. but, after watching it, it almost seems fitting that they died only 24 hours apart. they were kindred spirits. i highly recommend checking the documentary out.

the MTV Live Setlist performance from St. Paul & The Broken Bones was phenomenal. i hope the whole world one day understands how fucking great this band truly is.

ROH was excellent last night.

i couldn't sleep for shit last night. the scar tissue in my left foot was fucking with me the entire night. and then my mother told me this morning that my uncle is now in hospice. so, i figure that had something to do with it as well. at least i know he's going to die in a very humane way. i have no clue if my mom wants to go see him there or not. hopefully he's not in the same room my stepfather died in.

i went into the kitchen this morning and nearly screamed it was so fucking cold. luckily, i didn't as my sister was still sleeping in the next room. the insulation we put in has helped, but our kitchen has like 9 fucking windows. i bet all of them are allowing heat to leak out. good times.

the Dayton Flyers were without Charles Cooke again last night. so when Rhode Island got out to an early 10 point lead, it was what i expected. thankfully, Dayton decided they weren't about to get punk'd at home. they battled and battled and eventually took the lead for good in the second half. Dayton made just enough free throws down the stretch to win the game 67-64. i loved the victory mostly because i can't fucking stand Rhode Island's coach, such a whiny piece of shit. Dayton is now 3-0 in conference play. hopefully they can keep it going. they next play at UMass on Wednesday.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of reporting.

i got up early this morning to watch Manchester United take on Reading in the 3rd round of the FA Cup. United got off to a great start, with Wayne Rooney scoring his 249th goal for the club. he draws level with Sir Bobby Charlton's record. Anthony Martial scored a few minutes later. Marcus Rashford scored two in the second half for a 4-0 victory.

the New York Rangers play tonight at Columbus. i'd love to see the Rangers win this important divisional game.

i'll spend most of the day watching some college basketball and the NFL playoffs as well.

i guess i should venture out into the cold and get the morning paper.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

apparently hell has frozen over

i haven't even been outside yet. i'm kind of waiting for when i think the mail might actually be out there so i can get that and the newspaper at the same time. we didn't get much snow, but i'm not a big fan of the single digits when i don't have to be in it.

when team USA got down 2-0 last night to Canada, i wasn't pleased. thankfully, the game was tied 2-2 after the second period. so you can imagine my anger when Canada was up 4-2 in the 3rd period. thankfully, this USA team has the resolve of champions as they clawed back quickly to make the game 4-4. they played a 20 minute overtime that was beyond exciting, but no one scored. so, off to the shootout once again. the same hero from the Russia game for the USA came through once again, as Troy Terry scored for the USA. Tyler Parsons stood on his head for the USA in goal, stopping all 5 shootout attempts by Canada as the USA won gold for the 4th time. this is the 3rd time the USA has beaten Canada for gold. another instant classic and oh, how i fucking enjoy having a victory beer while watching a bunch of teenagers that think it is their god given right to win this tournament every fucking year cry their damn eyes out. while watching that flag go up above the Canadian and Russian flags, it's one of the few times anymore that i can actually be proud to be an American.

The Big Bang Theory was pretty funny last night.

Life in Pieces was fucking hilarious last night.

Fuck, That's Delicious last night was great.

The Pizza Show was excellent as well last night.

i'm very pleased that the review i put out yesterday of Maiden has been well received. i used to do reviews all the time in a previous life. i wasn't sure if i still had the ability to do that or not.

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight at home against Rhode Island. this a true test for Dayton as Rhode Island is a mirror image of them. a hard team that plays defense, rebounds, causes turnovers, shoots the 3, dunks as much as possible, etc, etc. hopefully, my sister and i will see a great game and a Dayton victory. the game is on ESPN2 tonight.

i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade today. i'll put the links below in the music section.

i'll be on here sometime after Manchester United plays in the FA Cup tomorrow morning.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. hopefully the weather cooperates and you can actually enjoy something other than being inside and warm.

Book Review: Maiden by Karina Bush (48th Street Press)

have you ever picked up a book, read a few pages, and then suddenly realized you can't put it down until you are finished? it's those rare moments, at least for me, that keep me from killing myself. so, in a way, if any of you are disappointed, send your complaints to Karina Bush.

Maiden is an incredible quick read that will make your panties wet as quickly as you will blush. the poems flow of sex and love and desire and romance. at first glance, you may simply think they are crude. but do yourself a favor and dig into the language and see the beauty of the mix of lust and love.

the poems that really stuck out to me were:
The Wettest Love
Into Your Air
War (which honestly is one of the best poems i have ever read)
Takes
Tender Night

43 pages of poems that will saunter into your dreams and... well, use your imagination.

i urge all of you to find this book and devour it. and remember the name Karina Bush, a raw talent that is unstoppable.

just enough snow to...

i was up before dawn today to take mom to her doctor's appointment this morning. it was the third round of shots in her back. i went out to get the paper and it was already snowing. great. it wasn't much if you actually know how to fucking drive in this weather. so of course that means there was accidents all over the place this morning. but, we got there without any problems and were back home before 9 AM.

after breakfast i took a fucking nap. i needed it. 4 hours of sleep doesn't get me that far any longer. after my nap, i went to the bank and had to get my new glasses. the roads weren't bad at all. my prescription changed just enough to give me a fucking headache. joy. i got back home right before the next round of snow started.

team USA vs. Russia yesterday was an instant classic. the Russians had never lost to the USA in the semifinals of the World Juniors. thankfully, that streak is fucking dead. the USA defeated Russia 4-3 in a shootout to advance to the gold medal game tonight vs. Canada. hopefully the boys aren't flat for tonight. the Russia game was emotional and i worry about the USA being able to keep the emotion in check and flowing 2 nights in a row against bitter rivals. hopefully i will be enjoying a sweet victory beer tonight.

the New York Rangers looked like themselves last night, defeating Philadelphia 5-2.

Total Divas was hilarious last night. i remembered why i love Paige so much... she's fucking crazy.

NXT was really good last night. i can't wait to see Samoa Joe on the main roster.

Lucha Underground was great last night. sprinkling Vampiro in the storyline with Prince Puma and Mil Muertes should certainly make things interesting.

and if i get the chance, i will be posting my review of Maiden by Karina Bush soon.

hope the weather is better where you are. if not, i suppose you could always turn on the television and watch something about a beach.
