happy it must be nice if you found the right one day

i started thinking about this today and i realized i have been single for 41 straight Valentine's Days. i'm sure a good number of them have been by choice but, especially for poetic purposes, a good number have also been the process of elimination. i have often wrote about being on the wrong side of that process. it's not fun. so, part of me would love to break this streak. but, part of me also understands i'd have a better chance of winning the lottery or brokering peace in the Middle East.

mom felt well enough today that she didn't take her walker with her when we went out and about. she also didn't use a cane. i made sure to be close enough to her that she wouldn't fall. hopefully this means her back is much better and now it's just about getting the hip better.

the New York Rangers won last night in Columbus, 3-2. that's 6 wins in a row. they next play on Thursday at the Islanders.

Monday Night Raw was spectacular last night. Bayley winning the Women's Championship was great. but, the best part of the show to me was Kevin Owens. i think him turning on Jericho now caught everyone off guard. that's why it was so fucking perfect. now, the badass that takes no shit, fuck the world, Kevin Owens is back.

Hate Thy Neighbor was very interesting last night. watching a gay pride parade in Jerusalem and seeing both sides of it was both good and bad. i love the number of people that are against hate. i hate the fact that some old man is taking poor boys and making them soldiers for their version of a religion. i thought the host made the best statement though. both sides love to talk, but neither of them listen. now everyone can understand why nothing gets done for peace in the Middle East.

Eagles of Death Metal: Nos Amis was brilliant last night. i'm not a huge fan of the band, but i am definitely a bigger fan after watching the documentary. the footage from Paris and the terrorist attack was amazing to watch. i'm not going to lie, i had a few tears during the documentary. i highly recommend checking this out.

the finale of The Young Pope was great last night. i didn't think i was going to enjoy the series but in the end, it was much better than i thought it was going to be.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, WWE Smackdown and Taboo. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the Dayton Flyers play at Saint Louis tonight. this is a game they MUST win and in doing so, the senior class will set the program record for most wins by one class in their 4 years. i'm really hoping to drink to that tonight.

a quick heads up, look for some of my poetry in the morning...

i'm not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. i still have the trash to pick up here and next door, so that's all for now.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

you'd think i'd be tired...

i think i got to bed around 4 in the morning or so. i was up 2 hours later as i'm still fighting this damn cold. staying hydrated means i go to the bathroom like a guy in his damn 70's. thankfully, i got a few more hours of sleep after that. i haven't taken anything for my cold for about 18 hours or so. a few coughing fits, sort of like back in my smoking days. it's up to the white blood cells now.

The Grammy Awards were pretty good last night, even though i was furious with the technical fuck ups during Lady Gaga's performance with Metallica. the tribute to Prince was awesome. i loved that Adele put so much into her tribute to George Michael. and Adele basically saying that Beyonce should have won all the big awards was truly a highlight.
and of course, a couple of shits from Ohio did this:
all in all, a pretty good night.

WWE Elimination Chamber last night was great. even though i was tired as fuck when i watched it, i really enjoyed all the matches. i love that Naomi is now the Women's Champion and i am fucking thrilled that Bray Wyatt is the new Heavyweight Champion. it's about damn time.

The Young Pope was excellent last night. the season finale tonight should be really good.

the return of Girls last night was ok. there was a few funny lines but... thank god it's the final season.

Homeland was great last night. i love a holy shit ending.

Last Week Tonight was absolutely fucking brilliant last night, as usual.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Young Pope, Hate Thy Neighbor and Eagles of Death Metal: Nos Amis (Our Friends).

i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

the New York Rangers will look to continue their winning streak tonight in Columbus. hopefully i'll be enjoying a victory drink later tonight.

i'm not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. i believe i have to drive mom around for a few things and i need to go to the bank.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

long live The King

the New York Rangers came from behind last night and defeated Colorado 4-2. it was the 400th win of Henrik Lundqvist's amazing career. he is the fastest EVER to 400 wins in NHL history. i really, REALLY hope that he is part of a Stanley Cup team with the Rangers before his career is over. and i really wouldn't mind if it happened this season. congrats to The King.

ROH was excellent last night.

Saturday Night Live was fucking hilarious last night. i can just imagine how furious Trump got when he saw a black woman pretending to be him. fucking classic. one of the best episodes in a long time.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Young Pope, Girls, Last Week Tonight and Homeland.

i will probably spend most of the night watching The Grammy Awards.

after that is over is when i have the tough decision. do i start to watch the Sunday night shows on the DVR or do i go over to WWE Network and watch the Elimination Chamber ppv that will most likely be over by then? i'll probably do both knowing my stubborn ass. my good friend Sam Roberts will be on the pre-show for Elimination Chamber, so i definitely know i will check that out.

all in all, just a fucking clusterfuck waiting to happen.

i went to the grocery store after a nap yesterday. i wanted to get there before the pharmacy closed as i had a ton of prescriptions to pick up. i didn't have one damn coughing fit until i was getting the last items on the list. thankfully, it didn't last forever. as i was taking the full grocery cart out to the car, this beautiful young woman smiled at me and said hi. i said hello. i then quickly reminded myself that she looked around 17. i don't want to go to jail with a cough.

another tip for what not to wear while really sick... white shorts.

i have no damn clue when i'll be on here tomorrow.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday will be even better.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

a great way to start the weekend

i'm a pretty intense guy when it comes to the things i love. i'm one of those assholes who wears his passions on his sleeves and has no problem being "that" guy. while watching Dayton play at Rhode Island last night, i thought of the number of times that shit state school had destroyed a Dayton could have been great season and wondered if Dayton had it in them to return the favor. it was a miracle Dayton was only down by 6 at halftime. they couldn't put the damn ball in the ocean if they tried. and then they played the second half 5 on 8 as Rhode Island was shooting free throws for the last 13 minutes of the game. amazingly, Dayton is full of guys this year that don't give two shits about all the obstacles in front of them. Xeyrius Williams hit two gigantic 3's in the last 30 seconds to give Dayton the win, 75-74. oh, i enjoyed the fuck out of that victory.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

NJPW was excellent last night. i don't think i could ever get tired of watching Will Ospreay wrestle.

Real Time with Bill Maher last night was great. it also showed why Piers Morgan is still a cunt.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live and ROH.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Colorado. with a win they will complete a sweep of the 4 game homestand.

Manchester United played one of their best first halves i have seen them play this season today against Watford. chance after chance and finally a goal from Juan Mata. they sat back more in the second half but were able to get a goal from Anthony Martial on a wonderful counterattack. job done, 2-0 win. all 3 points. exactly what they needed.

i will be on here probably tomorrow morning. Sunday is going to be a giant clusterfuck between the Sunday night shows, the Grammy Awards and the Elimination Chamber ppv. a good night to have insomnia i guess.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

sometimes that light is a train

just when i thought i was getting better... i've coughed so damn much my throat now tastes like blood. i haven't bothered to even try to call the doctor as i know they are probably booked solid. but, on the bright side, my blood sugar was below 100 this morning. if i only didn't have to be sick as fuck for that to happen.

The Big Bang Theory was really funny last night. go ahead and give Jim Parsons another Emmy Award.

Life in Pieces was hilarious last night.

Fuck, That's Delicious was an extended cut from the Chicago episode.

Baskets was fucking great last night.

Lip Sync Battle was pretty good last night as well.

the New York Rangers won last night 4-3. they are finally winning at home again. they can sweep the homestand on Saturday night against Colorado.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, NJPW and Real Time with Bill Maher.

the Dayton Flyers play a massive game tonight at Rhode Island. if Dayton wins, the seniors will tie the all-time win record for a class at Dayton and they will also have the sweep of Rhode Island this season. if Dayton loses, they no longer control their own destiny in the A10. it should be a really good game. it's on ESPN2 tonight at 7.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays in the morning.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. i hope this is the weekend i start to get better and actually feel good enough to write. what a concept.

light at the end of the tunnel

well, i think (or hope) the worse part of my coughing is over with. i think i hit bottom last night with a coughing fit that had me sweating like i was in a Turkish prison. today has been much better. i felt good enough to actually do my laundry and go out of the house. hopefully i'll feel even better by this time tomorrow.

NXT was pretty good last night. i'm sort of interested to see where it goes now with Bobby Roode as champion.

i did listen to the latest Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast today. you can find that by going here:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Big Bang Theory, Life in Pieces, Baskets, Fuck, That's Delicious and Lip Sync Battle.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Nashville. hopefully they can keep the winning going.

i talked to a close friend for the first time in months today. she's going through some rough shit right now. hopefully she takes my advice and gets the fuck out and never looks back. it really enrages me when a woman sticks by a man that treats her like shit. mental and physical abuse is not love. and it never will be love.

i just finished folding my last load of clothes, so now it's time for a nap.

you ever cough so hard...

that you end up shitting your pants? welcome to my Wednesday.

i'm definitely not getting enough sleep, so this might be a short one.

between the arthritis and the coughing, death is a beautiful option.

there's a chance for snow this evening. hopefully i'm drugged into a coma and miss it.

Smackdown was excellent last night. i think they set up their Elimination Chamber ppv this Sunday rather nicely.

205 Live was great as well. i think i'm certainly going to enjoy Jack Gallagher vs. Neville in a few weeks.

Taboo was fucking dark as hell again last night. i think i had just enough NyQuil and rum in me that it started to make sense.

The Dayton Flyers did exactly what i thought they would do last night. Saint Joseph's was shorthanded with 3 starters missing. so, of course, Dayton thought the game was going to be easy and played down to its competition. thankfully, they changed things around in the second half and avoided that landmine. Dayton won 77-70.

the New York Rangers won last night 4-1. The King stopped 43 of 44 shots. i still have a victory beer coming to me.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

that's all for me kids. i'm off to the bed. i found it funny that this cold started right after i got that email from Moran Press that i was going to have a mini chapbook published and actually get a little money from it. my theory truly is the powers that be don't want me to be happy. i just love being sick

i had to email my sister and tell her there was no way i was going to the basketball game tonight. i have been coughing for the last 2 days. i'm not running a fever but i definitely feel like shit. i went to the drugstore today and got some shit for my cough and to help me sleep. while i was at the store, life reminded me why i'm a loser. i'm standing in line waiting for this guy to get done with this beautiful cashier that i was really hoping to get a chance to flirt with. of course, an older lesbian opens up the next register and says, i can help you here sir. FUCK. there's another poem. i did laugh when i had to give the cashier the date of my birth so i could buy NyQuil though.

hopefully all the shit i got helps me get rid of this cough. if not, hopefully straight liquor will do the trick.

Monday Night Raw was very good last night. i would have loved to see Samoa Joe beat the shit out of Roman Reigns, but i understand. and i have no doubt that Goldberg taking on Kevin Owens at Fastlane means Owens is going to lose his title. that would make Goldberg vs. Lesnar at WrestleMania for the Universal title. that smells like what Vince thinks we want to see. as long as that means Owens vs. Jericho at Mania, i guess i can live with it.

Hate Thy Neighbor was about the budding racists in Ukraine. i have no problem when someone loves their country. when they are doing it with Neo-Nazi views, there's a big fucking problem.

The Young Pope was very interesting last night. there's only two episodes left. i have no damn clue where the show is going to go.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, WWE Smackdown and Taboo. i'll watch 205 Live on WWE Network sometime tonight.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Anaheim. hopefully they can get another victory and keep pace in the division.

one of the greatest chokes i have ever seen

the only way i was going to enjoy the Super Bowl last night was if someone did something truly stupid and if that someone was with Atlanta. thank god i got to be happy for a little bit. when the Falcons were up 28-3 i was not happy. now, my mother was thrilled since she's a Jets fan and hates New England. she was in one of her passive aggressive moods yesterday and i finally put my foot down. i forgot to take some things off of a chair so she made a stink about it and sat on the couch and then wanted to complain about it not being good for her back. i took the things off of the chair and i told her i'm only going to say this once. if you think you're going to take your passive aggressive shit out on me, you're asking for a murder suicide. that pretty much set the mood for most of the evening.

halftime reminded me just how many damn Lady Gaga songs i know.

when the Patriots started coming back, i was hoping they would come all the way. the Falcons made sure it was possible with some horrific play calling and a couple mistakes. as soon as the Patriots won the coin toss in OT, i knew the game was over. i will not remember this game as Tom Brady ending the debate on the best QB in history, etc. i will remember this game for the Falcons blowing a huge ass lead and choking away a Super Bowl. that's a cherry on top for any New Orleans Saints fan.

the New York Rangers won yesterday 4-3 over Calgary. hopefully they will now start to get on a roll.

The Young Pope was really good last night. tonight's show should certainly be very interesting.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Hate Thy Neighbor and The Young Pope. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

the Dayton Flyers got a verbal commitment last night from a 6-7 forward from Czech Republic. music to my ears.

Manchester United beat Leicester yesterday 3-0. this was exactly what United needed.

today is a day of remembrance for all Manchester United fans.

i had to take mom to a doctor's appointment today. her hip replacement is scheduled for early April. at least it should happen after WrestleMania and the NCAA basketball championship.

it just started raining here and i think i'm coming down with a cold. just in time for the basketball game tomorrow night. joy.

i'm watching for the commercials

since the Super Bowl this year is between two teams i absolutely detest, i really don't give a shit who wins. much like most years being a New Orleans Saints fan, i'm hoping the commercials are really good.

Austin City Limits was excellent last night, mostly because of one of my favorite bands, St. Paul & The Broken Bones.

ROH was really good last night.

Saturday Night Live was hilarious (sometimes), sloppy (most of the time) and pretty good last night. you could tell Kristen Stewart was nervous as hell, which probably explains saying the word fucking on network tv. but, Melissa McCarthy's version of Sean Spicer saved the whole damn show, it was fucking fantastic.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Young Pope.

the New York Rangers play at home today against Calgary. hopefully they can finally figure out how to play good at home again. and win.

Manchester United plays at Leicester today. United really needs to win this game.

nothing like a good ass whipping

i was really hoping the Dayton Flyers would take a team out behind the woodshed today and kill them. thankfully, i got exactly what i wanted. Dayton had an unbelievable 30 assists today, 3rd most in program history. they absolutely destroyed Duquesne, 90-53. honestly, it didn't feel like the game was that close.

my sister and i had to go to the grocery store after the game to pick up a few things. she wanted to get this beer that is named after the town we grew up in. it's actually really good. i think she's giving it to some friends that now live out of state. i had to pick up a few things for mom. i ran into a girl from high school that i probably haven't seen since i was in my early 20's. we started talking and i immediately thought back to a drunken kiss in a parking lot of a local club. ah, the good old days of drinking and driving and trying to fuck anything that moved... hopefully she looks up my most recent books and buys something.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

Treehouse Masters was really good last night. it was a contest episode where two winners got $20,000 makeovers of their treehouses. every time i watch that show i think about what i should have done at the farm. if only i had some fuck you money.

NJPW was great last night. it was the last episode of footage from Wrestle Kingdom 11.

Real Time with Bill Maher was excellent once again.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live, Austin City Limits and ROH.

team USA looked really good again last night against Jamaica. they finally got rewarded for their effort as well. two clean sheets in a row is something i could get used to. hopefully Bruce Arena can turn them around in time to still qualify for the next World Cup. USA won 1-0.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday night. call if you need bail money.

response from Synchronized Chaos

i heard back from Cristina at Synchronized Chaos on my poetry submission from earlier today. my poems "on an old radio", "the part of the contract", "lost over time", "upon my desperation" and "the key to life" have been accepted for publication in the March issue.

sunshine, where have you been

we actually had more than a few minutes of sunshine today, so i decided to feed the birds. a couple of the feeders were still frozen, so i only filled the ones i could open easily. i definitely can see me getting rid of some feeders as my arthritis gets worse, that's for sure.

i sent out 28 poems today; 3 to Winedrunk Sidewalk and 5 each to Nerve Cowboy, Moran Press, Bop Dead City, Synchronized Chaos and Otoliths. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.

Fuck, That's Delicious was an extended look at their trip to Japan.

Lip Sync Battle was pretty fucking good last night.

The Big Bang Theory was really funny last night.

Life in Pieces was good as well.

Baskets was brilliant last night. season 2 is just as good as season 1.

the New York Rangers won last night 2-1 in OT over Buffalo. i'm not exactly sure why the Rangers play so much better on the road this season. they now have 18 wins away from home. that leads the entire league.

enjoy some music:

the USA men's national team has a soccer friendly tonight against Jamaica. hopefully they can build from their last game and actually score tonight. i know the coach is changing the formation, so that should trigger some good things.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after the Dayton Flyers play at home against Duquesne. the game is a sell out and will be seen on NBCSN.

one day i'll go grocery shopping in slippers

i saw this woman at the grocery store today in black sweatpants and some fuzzy slippers. i was tempted to say something, but i was in one of those moods where i was just as likely to fucking lose my shit as saying hello. between my insurance, my doctor and the fucking pharmacy, today was one of those days i'm tempted to go load a gun and thin the herd.

i used my last test strip this morning. my insurance company will only allow a certain number of strips. so, 2 calls later to my doctor, he changed it to me testing twice a day, so i could get more strips. so, 2 more calls to the pharmacy and finally they filled the prescription. of course, they first got the info 3 days ago. the joy of being crazy is knowing that one day, i will thin the herd.

i did a little poetry work today. i think i'm planning on sending to 6 or 7 places tomorrow. if not tomorrow, probably early next week. but, i would like to get some poems out before the weekend. think long, think wrong.

NXT was pretty good last night. Tyler Bate made his NXT debut. 19 years old and the future of the business.

anger, my old friend

nearly all the teams ahead of Manchester United dropped points yesterday, so today was the day United could actually gain some ground with a big win. so, instead of playing with urgency right from the start, the boys took their sweet ass time to get going. i don't believe they had a shot on goal until 35 minutes into the game. now, the second half was a different story. United got robbed a few times with really good saves, got a little unlucky with the whistle, and honestly... anytime you play down to a team like Hull City, last in the fucking league, you probably get exactly what you deserve. instead of burying their damn chances, United is always more focused on doing something spectacular. too bad spectacular doesn't fucking win you games.

the New York Rangers missed some wide open chances last nights and before you knew it, Columbus was up 6-0. the Rangers scored 4 straight goals in the 3rd period to make the score look good, but it's not a good sign when they constantly dig themselves into these fucking holes.

thankfully, the Dayton Flyers had a pretty good second half last night and used their experience to win at Fordham 75-66. congrats to Kendall Pollard on making the 1,000 points club. Dayton next plays on Saturday at home against Duquesne.

i thought Smackdown was pretty good last night. i guess the plan is for Cena to lose the title in 2 weeks. as long as he never wins it again, i'm good with that.

205 Live was really good last night. i love that Akira Tozawa finally was on the show.

Taboo was great last night. really dark, really bloody, fucking insane... i loved it.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i think i might have to make a trip to the grocery store tomorrow. i'm not sure what kind of weather we're going to have the next few days. plus, i'm getting low on the test strips for my blood sugar. i have lost about 10 lbs., so i'm happy about that.

i also need to get the first batch of poems ready for the first submission of the month soon. i think i know the first 3 places on the list i'm going to send to.

that's all for me kids.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...
