that was better, i guess...

i was interested to see how Manchester United was going to play today, given all the changes after the debacle on the weekend. i suppose it was better, seeing that they defeated Bournemouth 2-0. goals from Smalling and Lukaku and a nice blind eye from the official were the difference in the game. United plays this weekend in the FA Cup semifinal, against Tottenham. i'm hoping United comes out to win and not just park the bus and hope to get a late goal to win.

here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:

the New York Yankees played like shit last night and lost to the Marlins 9-1. thank fucking god i didn't watch much of that one. the Yankees are off today and start a series tomorrow at home against Toronto.

The Voice was really good last night. it was all team Blake and Alicia. of course, that means tonight won't be as good. but, they will reveal the rest of the final 12 tonight.

Smackdown was excellent last night. i really love all the people that went to Smackdown in the Superstar Shakeup. that should make both shows more interesting for months to come.

205 Live was really good last night.

Deadliest Catch was good last night.

The Chris Gethard Show was crazy last night.

The Jim Jefferies Show was fucking hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The Voice. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i did watch a good amount of playoff hockey last night.

i wrote 14 poems yesterday in the waiting room while mom was doing her physical therapy. i typed them up last night and i think a few of them are really good.

after mom and i had lunch, we ran into one of my sister's friends as we were leaving the restaurant. i think this was the first time i had seen this woman in almost 20 years. she recognized me immediately, which i haven't figured out if that is a good thing or not yet.

i was saddened to hear that Bruno Sammartino died today. as i saw one article put it, he's the guy that influenced everyone in professional wrestling to this day. he will be missed.
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/18/sports/bruno-sammartino-pro-wrestlings-champ-for-a-decade-dies-at-82.html

i'm not sure when i will be on here tomorrow. i think i may spend a little time getting some poems ready to go out. i really should get another book together, at least a chapbook. of course, i need to find a publisher as well. (hint, hint)

that's all for me kids.

like a punch to the gut...

sometimes you watch something that hits so damn close to home that it's simply unsettling to the point that you are rendered helpless. i watched I Am Evidence last night. it is an incredibly difficult documentary to watch, especially if you are a victim of sexual abuse, or know victims of it. to see all those damn rape kits that went untested for years and years was disheartening. and i know i have friends that have been raped who had the same shit happen to them. as a man, as a human and as an American, this is a fucking disgusting indictment on this society. i urge everyone to watch this and tell someone else about it and make them watch it.

here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:

The Voice last night was really good. from first listen, it's going to be a battle between team Blake and team Alicia. those teams have way more talent than the other two.

Fuck, That's Delicious was hilarious last night.

the New York Yankees scored early and often last night to beat the Marlins 12-1. they play again this evening.

Monday Night Raw was really good last night. i really like the way they are going with the Superstar Shakeup. it should be interesting to see who goes to Smackdown tonight.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, The Voice, The Chris Gethard Show, Deadliest Catch and The Jim Jefferies Show. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i am bringing my little notebook with me today for mom's physical therapy appointment. i'd love to bang out a good number of poems today.

i guess it's supposed to start warming up for the next few days. of course, i won't be surprised if there's more cold weather by the end of the week. this is a miserable fucking cycle.

sure, when i think mid-April, i was always think of snow...

when it started snowing this afternoon, i basically threw hands up in the air and just said fuck it. i knew i was going to have to go drive in it to pick up some prescriptions. oh fucking joy.

we're under a damn freeze watch or warning or some shit until tomorrow night. i figure at this rate, summer will start sometime in August. who am i kidding, it's Ohio. it will probably be back to 70 by next week. this state is really fucking good at keeping everyone sick.

here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:

i did write 7 poems yesterday. i typed them up and really like them. i think i might send out a few poems next week.

the New York Yankees had both games of their doubleheader rained out yesterday. those games will be made up in June (hopefully). the Yankees start a series at home tonight against the Marlins.

Drop the Mic was pretty fucking funny last night.

the season finale of Here and Now was pretty crazy last night. the way the episode ended, i do hope there is a season 2.

Silicon Valley was funny last night.

Barry was really good last night.

Last Week Tonight was fucking hilarious.

Homeland was excellent last night.

Billions was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, I Am Evidence, Monday Night Raw, The Voice and Fuck, That's Delicious.

i think i waited longer in line to get the prescriptions today than it took me to drive to the grocery store and back. that gives way too much time to think and people watch and come up with some pretty weird shit in my head. but, that should shed a little light how the poems get made. you're welcome.

hopefully it will be warmer when i have to drive mom to physical therapy tomorrow.

i'm going to try to get the blog done early tomorrow. i know mom will probably want to go out to eat after her appointment.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

hello anger, i remember you...

i certainly wasn't expecting Manchester United to come out and destroy West Brom today and win like 5-0 or something. i was expecting United to find a way to fucking win though. silly me. to watch United lose 1-0 to the team at the bottom of the league, a team that had won 1 of their last 31 fucking games, and in the process give Manchester City the Premier League title was... i don't know if i have the fucking words for how fucking angry i am right now. it's raining cats and dogs here, my arthritis is raging and all i want to do is drive fists through walls or come up with enough money to give United a fucking heart that exists each fucking week. i'm not even going to bother with any of the post game shit. it's all excuses anymore. not exactly how i wanted to start off this fucking day.

here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:

the New York Yankees have already had game 1 of their doubleheader today at Detroit postponed by the rain. game 2 is supposed to be tonight. i doubt that happens either.

Elvis Presley: The Searcher was really good last night. i think i know more about Elvis than i ever wanted to.

Saturday Night Live was hilarious last night.

ROH was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be the season finale of Here and Now, Silicon Valley, Barry, Last Week Tonight, Homeland, Billions and Drop the Mic.

i will probably do some writing today and maybe flip between the NHL and NBA playoffs.

i'm really hoping the rain tonight doesn't change over to snow. i'm sick of this fucking shit.

i did listen last night to a special Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast about the upcoming superstar shakeup. you can find that by going here: https://soundcloud.com/srwrestling/2018-superstar-shake-up-bonus

and here comes the rainy weekend...

when i woke up this morning, i could feel it in my bones. i just knew it was raining. and this rain is supposed to continue more or less for the whole fucking weekend. and i'm not drinking. oh fucking joy.

here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:

the New York Yankees won last night 8-6. the bullpen still isn't good enough as of right now. that must get better soon, or the team is going to really have to tinker with it all season. the game today has already been rained out. they are going to try to play a doubleheader tomorrow. i highly doubt that happens given the weather.

VICE was really good last night. it also reminded me why i am not a fan of technology.

NJPW was awesome last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was excellent last night.

Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas was fucking great last night. i highly recommend this series to everyone. and you don't need HBO to see it. i believe they are putting each episode on YouTube.

i did watch some playoff hockey last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live, ROH and Elvis Presley: The Searcher.

i'm sure i will probably watch some hockey and soccer along the way today.

i did watch a little bit of Ohio State's spring game today. it's going to be weird to watch someone other than J.T. Barrett be the quarterback of that team.

i'm about halfway done with my laundry.

my sister left this morning after the first storm moved through.

the new coffeemaker worked fine this morning. crisis averted.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday.

sunshine and warmth, where the hell have you been?

i was in public in some shorts today for the first time in months. if the wind wouldn't have been fucking horrific today, this day would have been damn near perfect. hell, i even put on some fucking sunscreen today. of course, Sunday night is supposed to be thunderstorms and then maybe some snow. fuck me.

here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:

the New York Yankees lost to Boston last night 6-3. they really didn't do much until the 9th inning. oh well. they start a series in Detroit tonight. i have no clue how any of these games are going to be played this weekend with the weather.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

The Big Bang Theory was pretty funny last night.

Young Sheldon was really good last night.

Life in Pieces was hilarious last night.

Gotham was fucking crazy last night.

Atlanta was really fucking good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be VICE, NJPW, Real Time with Bill Maher and Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas.

the trip to the grocery store went pretty well today. we got plenty of fruit and fish, that's for sure. the bill would have been under $100 if the damn coffeemaker wouldn't have died this morning. the store had a good basic one on sale. i suppose i'll find out how good it is tomorrow morning.

my sister is down here for the evening. her and mom are going to a birthday party of one of my sister's friends mother. i figure my sister will be asleep by 11 and 10 hours later be up and on the road. so the 15 minutes i've talked to her since she's been here is just about all i'll get.

i will be on here tomorrow sometime between loads of laundry. i'm at that stage of underwear where i know i need to do my damn laundry. i suppose there's the next poem.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. call if you need bail money.

of course it's in the 70's today... there's a chance of snow on the weekend

the weather here is truly on my fucking nerves. today was really nice, if you don't mind the wind being around 30 mph all the fucking time. and as i found out as a child, the wind always brings something with it. apparently we're going to be warm until Sunday, and then winter will try to come back in. i could feel that shit today with my arthritis. what a fucking joy.

here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:

the meeting with the dietitian wasn't that bad today. she did a pretty good job explaining to mom what she needs to do to get her cholesterol down, while keeping an eye on the budget. and now that Kroger has entered the 21st century with this shit, i guess the next appointment will be a shopping trip. that should give mom a more hands on experience and hopefully help her remember some things so she can make better decisions regarding food.

the New York Yankees won last night at Boston 10-7. i watched a good portion of the game, including both bench clearing incidents. did i think it was a dirty slide? not really, but i could understand why Boston was upset. of course, if the shortstop wasn't lazy, his leg wouldn't be there for the spikes to hit it. i did enjoy the fight, though i don't understand why 3 Yankees got ejected and only 1 Red Sox did. tonight's game should be interesting.

NXT was really good last night. i guess the name War Raiders will grow on me, although i will always think of Hanson and Rowe as War Machine.

i'm not really sure who i'm going to root for in this year's NHL playoffs. i suppose it would be easy to root for all the former New York Rangers. but, part of me really hopes Las Vegas does great in the playoffs. them or Winnipeg, since two of my favorite wrestlers are from there (Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega). i did watch a little bit of the games last night. i might watch some tonight as well.

i'm a third shift dude at heart...

it feels like anymore i'm usually falling asleep right about the time the fucking sun is coming up. not that i would know that as i have fallen into my little depression hole of staying in my room for most hours of the day anymore. but, the words keep on finding me, so i'm not about to panic or some shit like that.

i wrote 13 poems yesterday while mom was at her physical therapy appointment. those are my first poems of April. i typed them up last night and really like most of them. i might do another round of submissions in another week or so.

here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:

the New York Yankees lost to Boston last night 14-1. thank fucking god i didn't watch that game. they play again tonight.

Smackdown was really good last night. i love that Paige is the new GM. if they are planning on doing a program between AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura and Daniel Bryan, please just take my money now. and i am so damn happy that Peyton Royce and Billie Kay were finally called up from NXT.

205 Live was excellent last night.

Deadliest Catch was really good last night. this looks like it is going to be another crazy season.

The Voice was basically just a recap show of the season so far last night. the live shows start next week.

The Jim Jefferies Show last night was excellent.

The Chris Gethard Show last night was fucking crazy.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after i take mom to an appointment she made with a dietitian. it's supposed to be a hour long appointment. mom's back has been killing her lately, so i know there's no fucking chance she can sit there for 60 minutes and not be in dire fucking pain. so, tomorrow should be interesting.

eventually exhaustion wins...

i think it was around 2 in the morning that i eventually just tapped out and went to sleep. i had just got done watching The Voice and my choices were either sleep or porn. and for one of the few times in my life, sleep won. of course, i did look at the clock around 5:30 this morning and uttered fuck you and went back to sleep. i got out of bed around 8:30, so i figured i got somewhere around 6 hours of sleep. that's like me being in a coma anymore. hopefully, with the aid of some coffee, i'll have plenty of energy for today.

here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:

Monday Night Raw was really good last night. i enjoyed the returns and the call-ups from NXT. it will be interesting to see what happens next week when they have the superstar shakeup once again.

sometimes you can have too much birthday cake...

that metaphor is my drained brain speaking about the 7 hours of wrestling i watched last night at WrestleMania. more on that in a bit. but first,

here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:

WrestleMania was great in spots, really good at times, really bad at times and just a touch too long. perhaps if the match order was different, my feelings would be different. perhaps if the crowd wouldn't have been dead by the end, it would have had a completely different feel. my highlights were Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt teaming up to win the Andre the Giant battle royal. the triple threat match between The Miz, Seth Rollins and Finn Balor was excellent. Ronda Rousey was amazing last night, especially for her first match on that big of a stage. The Undertaker beating John Cena in under 5 minutes was great. Daniel Bryan wrestling again and looking great doing it was awesome. and Braun Strowman picking a child out of the crowd to be his partner and then going on to win the Raw tag team championship was hilarious. the triple threat tag team match was a complete waste of time. the New Day and Uso's have put on some classics, but WWE wasted them last night. i was shocked that Asuka lost to Charlotte, but if the streak was going to end, it should have ended at WrestleMania. the company now has to set up Ronda vs. Charlotte for the next WrestleMania. the AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura match just seemed off for some reason. the crowd felt pretty dead by this point. this was the match i was most looking forward to. what saved it from being a stinker was Shinsuke turning heel after the match. the last match was Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns. this was awful. the only thing that saved it for me was Roman bleeding at the end of the match. he was certainly wearing the crimson mask at one point. i could hear Gordon Solie's voice in my head as that was the wrestling i grew up on. it will be interesting to see what surprises are on Monday Night Raw tonight. if Vince feels like Mania was not what he was hoping for, tonight will be filled with a ton of shocks and surprises. the first one has already happened, as Brock Lesnar has re-signed with the company.

the New York Yankees scored 5 runs in the first inning yesterday. they pissed that away and lost 8-7 to Baltimore in 12 innings. the offense isn't getting any clutch hits these days. they are off today and start a series at Boston tomorrow night.

the season finale of Our Cartoon President was hilarious last night. new episodes will be back in the Summer.

Homeland was crazy last night.

Billions was excellent last night.

Here and Now was really good last night. the season finale next week should be amazing.

Barry was really good last night.

Silicon Valley was excellent last night.

Last Week Tonight was fucking great as usual.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and The Voice. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i'm going to try to be on here in the morning tomorrow. mom has a physical therapy appointment in the afternoon.

this was the second Monday in a row that i have woke up to see snow on the fucking ground. the people that live two doors down from us just came back from Florida. i bet they are fucking thrilled.

i had to take mom to the grocery store this afternoon to get her prescriptions. we also had to get a few things that we were low on; ketchup, sweetener, etc.

i didn't make any coffee this morning since we were out of sweetener. if i make it through the shows tonight without falling asleep i'll be shocked.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

probably my favorite Sunday of the year...

this is the day where the child in me gets to really have some fun. i have been a wrestling fan since i was a little kid. and by little, i mean like from the age of 2. so today is WrestleMania 34. i have seen every single one of these. if all the matches go the way i think they could tonight, this might be one of the best ones ever.

and before i get into just how fucking brilliant NXT Takeover New Orleans was last night...

here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:

NXT blew my damn mind last night. every single match told an incredible story and the wrestling was fucking insane. from one of the best ladder matches i have ever seen to the end of the incredible feud between Gargano and Ciampa.

Saturday Night Live was really good last night.

ROH was excellent last night.

the New York Rangers talked before the game yesterday like they had something to play for. and then they went out and had one of their most listless performances of this listless season. they lost to Philadelphia 5-0. i hoped that the coach would have been fired right after the game. 5 hours later, the GM finally did what had to be done. thank god this nightmare of a season is over.

the New York Yankees won 8-3 yesterday over Baltimore. they will go for the series split this afternoon.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be the season finale of Our Cartoon President, Homeland, Billions, Here and Now, Silicon Valley, Barry and Last Week Tonight.

i will be watching WrestleMania for just about the whole damn day. the pre-show starts at 5 and the main show starts at 7 and i wouldn't be surprised if the whole thing isn't over until midnight.

i suppose before that comes on i'll watch a little of the Yankees game and maybe some golf as well.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday is even better.

will wonders ever cease...

i woke up this morning to a nice coating of snow on the ground. jesus fucking christ, when the fuck will spring decide to stay around for more than a day or so? i told my mother what really has happened because of climate change, we only have two seasons now. hot and cold. that's it. at least i am old enough to remember when there was four seasons.

here is your poetry for this day of National Poetry Month:

i'll be honest, when Manchester City got up 2-0 in the first half over Manchester United today, i wasn't pleased. and i turned the game off. i started watching the baseball game. about 30 minutes later i checked the score. i expected to see City up 4 or 5-0. the score was 2-2. Paul Pogba scored 2 goals 97 seconds apart. i fought off every urge to turn back to the game, as it was obvious United had come back because i wasn't watching. i did turn back just as Chris Smalling was scoring the eventual game winner for United, 3-2. holy fucking shit. to see the look at the end of the game on City's players and fans was priceless. and i loved what Smalling said was the message at halftime from the special one... you guys don't want to be the clowns standing around watching them raise a trophy. man, if only United could play entire games like they play second halves...

the New York Yankees lost last night 7-3 in 14 innings. they had more players get injured than runs scored. great. thankfully, they were able to get the victory this afternoon 8-3. they will go for the split in the series with Baltimore tomorrow afternoon.

the New York Rangers are currently losing at Philadelphia 2-0 in the second period. if the Rangers would win today, it would probably knock the Flyers out of the playoffs. that certainly doesn't look like it's going to happen. oh well. another loss would help the Rangers draft position.

Vice was excellent last night. it's stupid how many children are in jail in this country.

NJPW was really good last night.

the WWE Hall of Fame ceremonies went on forever last night. but, it was a good kickoff to WrestleMania weekend.

Real Time with Bill Maher was pretty funny last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live and ROH. i will be watching NXT Takeover: New Orleans for most of the evening on WWE Network.

last night, i didn't get to sleep until 5 in the morning. i'm not sure if it was the snow or no alcohol or just having a fucking brain that never shuts off. when i got up around 10 this morning, it felt like i didn't sleep at all. i figure one of these days all of this is going to catch up to me and i will either sleep like my sister does (10 or so hours at a time) or i will sleep and never wake up. and honestly, there are plenty of days where i wouldn't mind either.

that's all for me kids. i hope your Saturday is awesome.

bebe uno para mí, por favor
