too young to know better

the New York Yankees won Game 4 last night against Cleveland 7-3. that forces a Game 5 back in Cleveland on Wednesday. i didn't watch any of the game, although i did follow from time to time on the internet. Cleveland has lost their last 5 games when trying to close out a series. i really hope the Yankees make it 6. i'm trying to not think about the Yankees were just one fuck up away from their manager from winning the series last night.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. i love having The Shield back together. plus, i was so happy to see Kalisto win the Cruiserweight championship from Enzo last night.

The Big Bang Theory was very funny last night.

The Voice was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, The Jim Jefferies Show, American Horror Story and The Voice. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the US Men's National Team can lock up their place in the World Cup tonight. with a win or a draw against Trinidad & Tobago, they will be in the field for Russia in 2018. i'm just hoping the field tonight isn't under water like it was yesterday.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against St. Louis. i'd love to see the boys make it 2 wins in a row.

that's all for me today kids. the Guided by Voices CD/DVD i ordered arrived today, so i'll have plenty to listen to and watch this week.

i have trash to go pickup and dinner to help make.

why bother teaching what really happened...

as you might imagine, i was one of those kids that questioned everything every textbook was saying. sadly, in most instances, i was correct. i was being taught what 'the powers that be' wanted me to know, not what actually happened in history. Columbus Day is a perfect example of that. i highly suggest everyone read this article: https://www.thenation.com/article/the-invention-of-christopher-columbus-american-hero/

the New York Rangers defeated Montreal last night 2-0. i only saw highlights from the game. it looked like The King had a nice bounce back game from the debacle up in Toronto. they play again tomorrow at home against St. Louis.

the New York Yankees won last night, 1-0. i didn't watch any of that game either. not sure how my ego takes both of my teams winning while i'm not watching, but oh well. the Yankees will look to even the series tonight. just imagine if they would have won Game 2 like they should have. and since i am a superstitious motherfucker, i won't be watching tonight either.

The Deuce was excellent last night.

Vice Principals was very good last night.

Curb Your Enthusiasm was great last night.

Last Week Tonight was fucking hilarious.

Ray Donovan was very good last night.

the series finale of Episodes was pretty good last night.

WWE Hell in a Cell last night was really good. the two matches in the cell were crazy good. only a couple of the matches weren't excellent. my favorite part of the show was the ending. i never in a million years thought they would have Sami Zayn come out and help Kevin Owens. i am so damn happy that Sami will now get a push in the main event scene finally. and if Kevin and Sami can recreate some of the magic they had earlier in their careers, they will set the damn world on fire once again.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and The Big Bang Theory. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i wrote 3 poems today. after typing them up, i really, really like them. they will definitely be included in my next round of submissions.

the Red Sox just got eliminated by Houston. at least i know they didn't go further than the Yankees this season.

i'll be on here probably in the afternoon tomorrow.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

and here come the remnants of yet another hurricane...

i doubt i am going to have much fun today trying to do my laundry while the remnants of hurricane Nate are passing through here. i think alcohol and adrenaline are the only things that truly help my arthritis anymore.

Ohio State absolutely crushed Maryland yesterday 62-14. Ohio State almost had as many points as Maryland had yards on offense. the only thing that troubled me yesterday was just how atrocious Ohio State's special teams were. the sad thing is the head coach is the one that coaches the special teams. hopefully they clean that up before they play at Nebraska next Saturday night.

the New York Rangers got blitzed at the start last night at Toronto. i stopped watching after it got to 5-1. i started watching again when the Rangers got back to 5-3. they got all the way back to 5-5 before the 3rd period started. i should have just turned the damn thing off there. Toronto went on to win the game 8-5. my dire prediction of the Rangers giving up double digit goals in the game wasn't that far off. they play again tonight at home against Montreal. i'm really hoping they don't start the season 0-3.

ROH was excellent last night.

Saturday Night Live was very good last night.

Ed Sheeran was the guest last night on Austin City Limits. i liked it more than i thought i would.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Last Week Tonight, Ray Donovan, the series finale of Episodes, The Deuce, Vice Principals and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

i'll be watching WWE Hell in a Cell for most of the evening. ii'll be watching that instead of the Rangers and the New York Yankees.

the Yankees play Game 3 tonight at home against Cleveland. i laughed when Joe Girardi finally accepted responsibility for his fuck up in Game 2 yesterday. the joy of hindsight. hopefully they still let him go. i have no confidence that the Yankees will extend the series tonight. none.

tomorrow is Columbus Day here. i always get a good laugh at this holiday, mostly from what our shitty schools taught us about this nation. if they dared to actually teach the truth, tomorrow would just be Monday.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday is even better. i'm off to go clean dirty underwear. enjoy the visual.

pure ecstasy and a lingering pain

last night could have been one of those nights where you look back with such joy as a sports fan, that you remember it forever fondly. instead, Joe Girardi fucked any chance of that happening with one of the more baffling managerial decisions i have seen in a long time.

the New York Yankees were winning 8-3 last night and for some fucking reason, Joe decided to take CC out of the game in the 6th. if he would have been bringing in a reliever that wasn't used in the Twins game, i could understand it. instead, he brought in Chad Green. no biggie there. but, when there was guy from the Indians that the umpire said was hit by a pitch when he clearly wasn't, Joe didn't bother to have the play reviewed. his catcher, Gary Sanchez, was screaming that it didn't hit him. nope, Joe's dumb ass was waiting for a visual clue from his staff to tell him to review it. it never dawned on him that you might want to go ahead and review the damn thing anyway since the bases would be loaded and the Indians best hitter would be coming up. and, oh by the way, it would have been the third out of the inning as the ball actually hit the bat and Sanchez caught it for the third strike. so, as you might imagine, the next batter hit a fucking grand slam and the Indians comeback was on. 8-7 soon turned to 8-8 and then came extra innings. the Yankees lost 9-8 in 13 innings to go down 2-0 in the best of 5 series. what pissed me off more than anything was Joe Girardi not taking any fucking responsibility for the review mishap. fucking excuses rather than yeah, i fucked that up. it's time for the Yankees to move on from him now. as is RIGHT NOW. let fucking Tony Pena manage Game 3 and get it over with. it's not like they have a fucking chance anyway. the Yankees final game of the season will be on Sunday night (probably). i'll be watching wrestling, so thankfully i'll miss most of it.

thank god the US Men's National Team didn't shit on my heart last night like the Yankees did. they certainly came out prepared and on a fucking mission. Panama had only given up 5 goals for the entire HEX. the USA scored 4 on them last night in a beautiful and much needed 4-0 victory. this means all the USA needs to advance to the World Cup will be a win or draw at Trinidad & Tobago on Tuesday.

VICE was very interesting last night.

NJPW was very good last night.

Room 104 was excellent last night. the season finale is next week.

Mike Judge Presents: Tales from the Tour Bus was great last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was fucking hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH, Saturday Night Live and Austin City Limits.

Ohio State takes on Maryland this afternoon at home. hopefully they will get another victory today.

the New York Rangers play at Toronto this evening. i'm really dreading this game tonight. the Rangers defense will have to be much better as i know the forwards on the Maple Leafs are legit. and hopefully The King is much better tonight as well.

other than that, i know i have dishes to do, i probably should at least think of doing my laundry and given my imagination, i'll probably have a few poems to write as well.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

response from Pink Litter

i heard back from Misty at Pink Litter on my poetry submission from back in July. my poems "fighting the urge", "slowly teases" and "for the sake of this fantasy" have been accepted for publication.

one of those nights i'd love to forget

we had over 2 1/2 inches of rain yesterday. even more is coming today. great.

the New York Yankees lost last night 4-0. it's hard to win a game when you only have 3 hits. and today they face the guy who will probably win the Cy Young Award in the American League in Game 2. my only hope is that the trend that CC had working for him this year continues. he was wonderful in every start after a Yankees defeat. the Yankees have to find a way to win this game unless they think they have a 3 game winning streak in their bones against the best team in the league this season.

the New York Rangers lost 4-2 last night to what was the worst team in the league last year, Colorado. the Rangers were fucking awful in their own zone last night. i'm hoping it's all because they did all their preseason games early instead of playing them right up until the season started. they next play tomorrow night in Toronto. if they play the same defense they did against Colorado, the Maple Leafs might score 10 or more on them.

my mother could tell i wasn't happy last night as i started watching the shows i was recording instead of the games. thankfully, the shows were excellent.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

The Chris Gethard Show was fucking hilarious last night.

Better Things was really good last night.

Gotham was fucking great last night.

Will & Grace was so fucking funny last night. it was like the show was never off the air.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be VICE, NJPW, Real Time with Bill Maher, Room 104 and Mike Judge Presents: Tales from the Tour Bus.

the US Men's National team faces a MUST win game tonight at home against Panama if they want to qualify for the World Cup in 2018. they are at least saying all the right things about the urgency of the situation, etc. i'll have to see it to believe it though.

i'm hoping i'll be in a much better mood this evening than last evening. at the very least, i'm hoping i can drink any blues away.

i'll be on here sometime before Ohio State plays tomorrow afternoon.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

a morning full of rain

while we certainly needed the rain, my fucking morning was miserable as hell because of it. i believe sometime before i die i will live in the middle of a fucking desert.

Mr. Mercedes was fucking great last night. i can't wait for the season finale next week.

You're the Worst was excellent last night.

Total Bellas was pretty good last night.

NXT was really good last night.

Lucha Underground was great last night. night 2 of Ultima Lucha Tres certainly lived up to the hype night 1 created.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Chris Gethard Show, Better Things, Gotham and Will & Grace.

tonight is game 1 of the New York Yankees divisional series with the Cleveland Indians. i would love for the Yankees to steal the game tonight as they have had no fucking luck against the pitcher they are going to face tomorrow. plus, they are going to have to win at least one game in Cleveland if they want to move on in the playoffs.

the New York Rangers start their season tonight at home against Colorado. hopefully i will be enjoying some alcohol tonight.

the joy of being young

before i get into the crazy fucking Yankees game last night, a little poetry news...

i sent out 11 poems today, 6 to In Between Hangovers and 5 to Synchronized Chaos. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.

when the Yankees were down 3-0 four batters into the game last night, it was like i was in a fucking nightmare. thankfully, the Yankees got those runs right back in the bottom half of the first and decided to just keep scoring. the bullpen pitched 8 2/3 innings last night and only gave up 1 run while striking out 13. the Yankees won the wild card game over the Twins 8-4. they will now face Cleveland on Thursday in the ALDS.

Smackdown was good last night. they did a decent job pumping up the 2 big matches at Hell in a Cell this Sunday, but you wouldn't know there are any other matches on the show.

205 Live was pretty good last night. Kalisto should work well on the show.

The Voice was good last night.

The Jim Jefferies Show was great last night.

American Horror Story was excellent last night.

there was just enough rain today to make me ache like a motherfucker. and of course, that rain came while i was grocery shopping. i'm not sure if the people in the store could tell i was in pain, but i was fucking miserable. and of course, the cashier wanted to have a damn conversation. lovely.

the NHL season starts tonight. the New York Rangers play tomorrow night, at the same time as the Yankees vs. Indians game. great.

that's all for me today kids. i need to get started on dinner.

time for playoff baseball

i am really looking forward to seeing how the New York Yankees do in the wild card game tonight. they have so many young guys who haven't played in the playoffs before, i'm wondering if they take advantage of the opportunity or does the moment swallow them whole? hopefully the Yankees beat the Twins tonight as i would love to see them throw a damn wrench in the plans of the Cleveland Indians.

i wrote 3 poems this afternoon. i haven't typed them up yet, mostly because i'm hoping there are more to come. i did figure out where my next 11 poems are going to. i'll most likely send those out tomorrow morning.

Monday Night Raw was ok last night. it's hard to say a show was good when the best part of it was right when it was going off of the air. i can't wait to see The Shield back together next week.

The Big Bang Theory was really funny last night.

The Voice was very good last night.

enjoy some music:

one of those days where being a human sucks...

it's really fucking sad when i wake up to the news of a mass shooting in this country and i'm not shocked at all. i did get 3 poems out of it. i typed those up right after i wrote them so i wouldn't be thinking about it all day long. and then, right as i was getting ready to start this blog, i got the news that Tom Petty had died. that brought a rush of emotions, not that he was one of my favorites. but, i did have my first lap dance to a Tom Petty song. that's one of those memories that will never be forgotten.

the asshole in me laughed about a mass shooting at a country music concert. the majority of "them" don't believe in gun control of any kind. the majority of "them" voted for Trump. so, for the asshole in me, there's always a silver lining. now, for the bleeding heart in me, these senseless acts of violence have to stop at some point in my lifetime. but, sadly, if the politicians weren't going to do any sensible gun control after the kids got slaughtered at Sandy Hook, it's never going to happen. so, at the heart of it all, we are our own enemies. and like any animal, we will be extinct at some point. and given the advances with robots, that time is coming way sooner than i ever thought.

the New York Yankees lost yesterday 2-1 to Toronto. the Yankees finished the season with a record of 91-71. not bad for a team going through a rebuilding year. they play the Twins tomorrow night in the wild card game. if they win, they will go on to play Cleveland.

The Deuce was excellent last night.

Curb Your Enthusiasm was fucking hilarious last night.

Vice Principals was very funny last night.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as always.

Ray Donovan was great last night but tough for me to watch. it brought back so many memories of when my stepfather was fighting cancer.

Episodes was pretty good last night. i believe next week is the series finale.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Voice and The Big Bang Theory. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

a decent night of sleep and then...

i was hoping the New Orleans Saints were going to play well in London today. the first half against the Dolphins was fucking awful. so many fucking penalties that it was unwatchable at times. the Saints were up at the half 3-0. thankfully, the Saints completely dominated the second half and won the game 20-0. that's the first shutout for the Saints in 5 years. they are also just the third team since 1933 to have no turnovers in their first 4 games. the Saints are on a bye week next week, so hopefully they can get healthier and keep the winning going.

the New York Yankees won 2-1 yesterday. sadly, Boston won as well, so the division race is over. the Yankees will face the Twins in the wild card game on Tuesday. the meaningless game to finish the season is this afternoon. it would be nice to see the Yankees finish the season with a sweep of Toronto.

Ohio State whipped Rutgers last night 56-0. that's the second straight year they have shut them out. Ohio State returns home next week to take on an improved Maryland team.

ROH was very good last night.

Saturday Night Live was fucking hilarious last night.

Felipe Esparza: Translate This was fucking great last night. i am so happy i took a chance on a comic i hadn't heard of before.
