on top of the fact, i'm out of bread, so i will be hitting the local grocery store sometime this afternoon. it would have been nice if i would have remembered that yesterday when i was shopping. oh well.
i turned off the Manchester United game yesterday when they were losing 2-0. they eventually lost to Brentford, 4-0. even worse, they are now at the bottom of the league for the first time in 30 years. now, i know it has been just 2 games, etc. etc. they play Liverpool next, so i can just imagine how bad it is going to get before it even starts to get fucking better.
thankfully, the day got better from there...
team USA defeated Austria yesterday at the World Juniors, 7-0. they play Sweden tonight for first place in the group.
shopping went pretty well yesterday. i didn't find everything, but i didn't break the bank to get what i got either.
the Yankees won last night in Boston, 3-2. IKF hit his first HR of the year and drove in the winning run with a safety squeeze. hopefully, the Yankees will win the series tonight.
the New Orleans Saints lost last night at Houston, 17-13. i put no stock into preseason football, so the loss doesn't bother me. none of the starters really played, so...
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, VICE, The Chi, City on a Hill, Flatbush Misdemeanors, Power Book III: Raising Kanan, Last Week Tonight and the season finale of Westworld.
i do plan on doing my laundry today. given that the Yankees don't play until tonight, i'll have all afternoon to get it done.
thanks to everyone for checking out my latest published poems:
it has been incredibly muggy today. my old bones are screaming, so i know some shit is coming this way. now, i'm hoping it won't be a tornado or any damaging winds, but i know damn well, there is rain on the way.
i got mom to her appointment this morning on time. she was getting the injection into her back at the south office. that is 40 minutes away. i did get 5 poems written out in the Highlander. i typed those up this afternoon. i had to go out and get her pills at Kroger. so, i decided to stop by Big Lots to see if they had any baseball cards. i ended up buying $45 worth of baseball, basketball and football cards. add in the $5 football box i got at Rite Aid before i went to Kroger, and those $50 of cards ended up being worth close to $75. i have one more order coming from Topps.com and that will be the end of my buying for 2021.
between the pills and the injections, i'm really hoping mom gets some relief from her pain.
the season finale of Cake last night was fucking weird as usual.
Young Sheldon was pretty funny last night.
United States of Al was good last night.
B Positive was hilarious last night.
i did watch some of the NFL game last night.
here are your NBA highlights from last night:
i did catch the end of Purdue vs. Rutgers last night...

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and AEW Rampage. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on Peacock.
the New York Rangers play tonight at Buffalo. hopefully, they get back to winning tonight.
i'm going to try to be on here in the morning before Manchester United plays tomorrow.

so, i figured i better get my laundry done today instead of trying to do it when my sister is down here this weekend. so i started that when i got home from mom's doctor's appointment. she got her injection in her back and will hopefully feel much better tomorrow. i wrote 10 poems in the parking lot while she was in the appointment. i typed those up when we got back home. i really like a few of them. i will probably do my first submissions of the month this weekend.
the Yankees had their asses handed to them yesterday, losing to Toronto, 8-0. hopefully, they do much better tonight.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, NXT, Deadliest Catch and the season finale of Hard Knocks.
so the death of Michael K. Williams really got to me yesterday. i have enjoyed his acting for so long and seen him in so many things, it fucking felt like a family member had died.
i should be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done.
tomorrow is also my sister's birthday. as well as my friend in Colorado's birthday. small fucking world.
i can feel the sunburn creeping up on my arm. good times.

today was one of those days where i could have stayed in bed the entire day and i don't think i would have missed a fucking thing. the dog days of summer are here and my usual depression is setting up camp, getting ready for a show. joy.
Monday Night Raw was good, bad, uneven, pretty cool, what the fuck and everything else possible last night. it's what happens when you schedule a ppv a week after SummerSlam. just way too busy for its own good last night.
the season finale of I May Destroy You was excellent last night.
here are your highlights from the NBA last night:
enjoy some music:

i'm sure i'll probably watch some of the NBA and NHL playoffs tonight.
the Yankees start a 2 game series tonight in Atlanta. hopefully they will win, i need a drink.

yesterday was one of those Saturdays where i would love to just fucking forget it ever fucking happened.
i think i fucked up my left calf again. i had a horrible cramp in it the other day and i'm pretty sure i'm limping now because of the damage that caused. joy.
Manchester United lost to Crystal Palace yesterday, 2-1. i hated the officiating in the game, but with that being said, United didn't play nearly good enough to win. and to give up the game winner in the 93rd minute, just 3 minutes after you tied the game, is fucking inexcusable. let alone, another fucking missed penalty shot. and then the stat that really got me down yesterday... since their dramatic comeback at PSG last season, United has only won 3 of their last 15 games. that's like a punch to the dick.
the New York Yankees lost to the Dodgers yesterday, 2-1. the 9th inning was fucking crazy. and once again, piss poor umpires blew a few calls... but nothing is new there. hopefully the Yankees win the series tonight.
and of course, the game i didn't get to see, the New Orleans Saints defeated the New York Jets, 28-13.
ROH was pretty good last night.
the final two episodes of Holey Moley were good. of course, only one of them were on television. our local ABC had the wrong description for one of the episodes, so the same episode recorded twice. i found the one i didn't see online. good times.
NJPW was excellent last night.
Hitsville: The Making of Motown was really good last night.
i did watch some of the Miami vs. Florida game last night.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Power, Succession, The Righteous Gemstones, Ballers, The Affair and On Becoming a God in Central Florida.
i had a good amount of Wild Turkey last night, so i actually got close to 4 hours of solid sleep. joy.
i think mom wants me to do some cleaning today. and i know i have that paperwork to fill out for my doctor's appointment on Tuesday.
so, that's all for me today kids. i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.

just as i was getting ready to start writing this, it started fucking pouring. and by pouring, i mean raining so fucking hard that currently, the water is over the sewers and coming up the driveway. good times.
i got mom to her appointment this morning on time. i had to do some quick thinking as i was going to go the highway but it was standing still when i was going to get on it. thankfully, i know all these roads around here like the back of my hand. i'm hoping the shot really helps her back. lord knows, she needs it.
i wrote 6 poems today, 5 of them in the waiting room. i typed those up this afternoon. i think they are pretty good. i will probably get another round of submissions ready soon. i'll probably send those out sometime before the end of the month.
the New York Yankees got a complete game shutout last night from Tanaka to defeat Tampa Bay 3-0. i'm hoping they get another victory tonight.
Monday Night Raw was much better last night than the last couple of weeks. of course, it should have been with a ppv coming up this Sunday.
Desus & Mero was very good last night.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, Deadliest Catch and Songland. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.
the USMNT starts their group play in the Gold Cup tonight against Guyana. i really want the guys to make a statement tonight with a great game. but, given how they have played recently, i'd love to just see a win.
i did watch some of the Gold Cup last night. here are your scores:
El Salvador won 1-0. Jamaica defeated Honduras 3-2.
tonight Panama plays Trinidad & Tobago before the USMNT plays.
in the Women's World Cup today, Brazil defeated Italy 1-0 and Australia defeated Jamaica 4-1.
i will probably be on here tomorrow after i get back from mom's appointment down south of town and probably lunch down there as well.
i have trash to go pick up. joy. at least the rain has become a little lighter at the moment.

hello 2018. you look just like nearly every other year since i became a teenager. a stiff drink at midnight and let's see if i can find something dirty on the movie channels. amazingly, it wasn't that bad of an evening.
the New Orleans Saints lost yesterday at Tampa Bay 31-24. thankfully, Atlanta defeated Carolina, so the Saints won the division anyway. the Saints will play Carolina at home on Sunday in the playoffs. hopefully they can beat Carolina for the 3rd time this season.
team USA defeated Finland yesterday at the World Juniors, 5-4. that got them second place in the group. their reward for that will be a game against Russia on Tuesday night. i figured that would happen.
Shameless was excellent last night.
the season finale of SMILF was fucking hilarious last night. i was pretty impressed how they took a subject like child abuse and managed to find humor that didn't seem forced or out of place. i can't wait for this show to come back.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
nothing on the DVR tonight. i will be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.
Manchester United plays at Everton today. given all the injuries and suspensions, i have no clue what team is going to be out there. i wouldn't be shocked if somehow Wayne Rooney scores the winner for Everton today. that would sum up the festive fixtures for United perfectly.
the New York Rangers play outside this afternoon against Buffalo. it would be nice to see them win today.
the final 4 for college football is today. Georgia vs. Oklahoma and Alabama vs. Clemson. i might watch some of that. i suppose it depends if the games are close or not.
i haven't been outside to get the paper yet. i figured i wanted to allow it to warm up to numbers above zero before i went out there.
i hope everyone had a good night. hello to 2018. Happy New Year. i hope you have a wonderful day.

i woke up this morning, got on the computer and nearly shit myself. i saw the news that the New York Yankees are in the process of acquiring Giancarlo Stanton from the Marlins. i never saw this coming. and i love that social media is on full Derek Jeter collusion talk. of course, it's not final yet, but the thought of him, Judge, Sanchez and Bird in the same batting order is fucking crazy.
the New York Rangers lost to Washington last night, 4-2. it's really fucking hard to win games when you keep getting scored on in the first 30 seconds of every damn game. it's past fucking ridiculous now. the Rangers play tonight at home against the Devils. they really could use a victory as they can't afford to drop hardly any points in this crazy division.
NJPW was excellent last night. i really can't wait to see Chris Jericho take on Kenny Omega. that should be amazing.
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.
i wrote 8 poems last night. i wasn't expecting to but i guess the Rangers loss put me into a rage. i typed the poems up late last night and really like them. they probably won't get sent out until 2018, although things could always change.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live and ROH.
the Dayton Flyers play this afternoon at home against Penn. hopefully this will be the first time this season Dayton wins back to back games.
i have no clue where mom will want to go eat after the game. of course, she might not be doing well either, so who knows if we actually go out to eat after the game. i'm really hoping her Meniere's Disease isn't fucking with her today.
i'll be on here tomorrow morning before Manchester United plays its most important game of the season.
i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

i don't think Game 3 could have gone much better for the New York Yankees even if they were dreaming. they got 6 shutout innings from CC, 3 run homers from Todd Frazier and Aaron Judge, and two spectacular catches from Judge as well. the only negative last night was Betances has fucking lost all his confidence in the bullpen. thankfully, only 1 run came out of that fucking mess in the 9th. the Yankees won last night 8-1. they will have a chance to even the series at 2 games apiece this afternoon.
Monday Night Raw was very good at times last night and really boring in others. it's obvious The Shield reunion is in the forefront right now. but at times, it certainly overshadowed the rest of the show. i truly didn't expect Kane coming up from the ring near the end of the cage match between Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman. that 3 on 5 TLC match this Sunday should be rather interesting.
The Big Bang Theory was very funny last night.
i thought The Voice was very good last night. when the battle rounds start, the show really gets good.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown, The Jim Jefferies Show, The Voice and American Horror Story. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.
the New York Rangers play at home tonight against Pittsburgh. i'm probably going to avoid watching the game as much as possible as i really can't stand how the Rangers are playing these days.
i did get a copy of my friend and (hopefully) future ex-wife Karina Bush's new book, 50 EURO, in the mail today. i will try to get a review posted for that in the next few days.
my blood results all came back good. my A1C seems to be under control, so i'm pretty damn happy about that. i still haven't heard about my x-rays though.
that's all for me today kids. i'm going to try to be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays in the Champions League.
i now have lunch to eat and trash to pick up. and hopefully tonight i'll be enjoying a couple victories and some alcohol to put me to sleep.

i was hoping the New Orleans Saints were going to play well in London today. the first half against the Dolphins was fucking awful. so many fucking penalties that it was unwatchable at times. the Saints were up at the half 3-0. thankfully, the Saints completely dominated the second half and won the game 20-0. that's the first shutout for the Saints in 5 years. they are also just the third team since 1933 to have no turnovers in their first 4 games. the Saints are on a bye week next week, so hopefully they can get healthier and keep the winning going.
the New York Yankees won 2-1 yesterday. sadly, Boston won as well, so the division race is over. the Yankees will face the Twins in the wild card game on Tuesday. the meaningless game to finish the season is this afternoon. it would be nice to see the Yankees finish the season with a sweep of Toronto.
Ohio State whipped Rutgers last night 56-0. that's the second straight year they have shut them out. Ohio State returns home next week to take on an improved Maryland team.
ROH was very good last night.
Saturday Night Live was fucking hilarious last night.
Felipe Esparza: Translate This was fucking great last night. i am so happy i took a chance on a comic i hadn't heard of before.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Last Week Tonight, Episodes, The Deuce, Vice Principals, Ray Donovan and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
