i woke up this morning and did my usual shit... piss, blood sugar, new pill, make coffee, etc. i went to take some trash out to the garage and walked right through a damn spider web. talk about a what the fuck moment. i made sure to let the Orkin guy know that there is definitely some spider(s) in the garage. other than that, i have caught up on a little sleep today. i've been able to open the house up and really let it air out some. i did write 2 poems yesterday. i think they are pretty good. sadly, i am falling back into that abyss of struggling to find the words again. i hate when i try to write and i am just going through the motions. even if what i produce is good, i still will only think it is shit because it didn't excite me. yeah, good times.
Big Brother 26 was good last night. i liked the 8 last night much better than the first night.
NJPW was good last night. kind of shocked at the title change to be honest.
your time is running out to have the chance to win a FREE copy of the book i did with Casey Renee Kiser:
so, before i get to my 2 hour adventure in the grocery store today, let me tell you about my trip to the eye doctor yesterday. this was my first time to this eye doctor. they recently took over where the old CVS in town was so the place looks very new. all the equipment looks brand new, so that gave me some hope that this experience was going to be completely different than the last 15 years or so at the eye doctor. and it was. i did love how the doctor was very attentive to my questions and really seemed to listen. i loved that she showed me this is how your vision is with your current prescription and this is it with the new prescription. wow, what a difference. i should get the new glasses and sunglasses in a couple of weeks. now, to that part. i picked out frames before my appointment online and that saved a ton of time. all told, with all the other fees and everything, it was $895 for both of the glasses. i got a call from the eye doctor this morning and i guess the lady that rang up my bill forgot to charge me for the frames of the sunglasses. so, with the 40% off that i got from my insurance for the sunglasses, i guess i still owe $114. now, the lady that made the mistake was so apologetic this morning, which was a breath of fresh air to be honest. they told me i can just pay the balance when i come in to get the new glasses. all in all, i'm pretty happy i made the change.
so, today mom gave me a scroll for the grocery list. 2 stores, nearly 3 hours of shopping and a little over $250 later, i got everything on the list. i have never been so fucking tired after grocery shopping in my life. it was fucking humid as fuck today on top of it. i guess mom wanted to feel like she is in a restaurant and can have anything she wants at any time. joy.
the New York Yankees lost last night at the Angels, 5-1. hopefully, they will not get swept tonight, although it seems like they are determined to just be a last place team this season.
NXT was very good last night.
Deadliest Catch was crazy last night.
Don't Forget the Lyrics was pretty good last night.
Dark Side of the Ring was great last night.
i did watch Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge today on Peacock. it was insane.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be AEW Dynamite and the series finale of Mayans M.C.
i did wake up this morning in time to watch Manchester United play a preseason friendly against Lyon in Scotland. United won 1-0.
the MLS All Star game is tonight. i'll probably watch some of the highlights of that later tonight. here are the highlights from the skills challenge last night.
i should be on here in the morning tomorrow before mom has physical therapy.
i need to get started on dinner, so that's all for me kids.
until tomorrow...

and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:
well, it didn't rain today. but, when it gets hot like this, there is a whole different level of problems or potential problems i have to deal with. and of course, one of those leaped to the forefront today.
so, i got mom to her doctor's appointment. it was at 12:30. sometime around 1:45, we finally went back to see the doctor. i was beyond pissed at this point. and of course, we waited longer back there as well. sometime around 2:30, we were leaving. mom gets her next injection in September. so, i took her to get her frozen Coke (i guess this is her reward) and we went back home. within 15 minutes of her being home, she went into her bedroom and fell. i'm guessing she was trying to set her frozen Coke down on her nightstand, lost her balance and fell down. she cut her face and her arm, just enough to bleed. i gave her a concussion test. thankfully, her eyes weren't glassy and she knew her name and what day it was. when it gets warm like this, her Meniere's Disease truly fucks with her. and i mean to the point where it doesn't take much at all for her to lose her balance. so yeah, this will be my summer. anytime she's out in the heat, i need to strap a damn leash on her and make sure she doesn't fall.
so, after all that, i went to Rite Aid to get my prescriptions. there was no charge for those. i then did part of the grocery shopping at the local grocery store. i got what i normally get on Wednesday and some chicken for dinner tonight. i don't feel like being over a hot stove this evening.
i was devastated last night learning that Desus & Mero were splitting up and the show would be no more. those motherfuckers have made me laugh harder than anyone over the last decade or so. they will be missed.
the USWNT defeated Canada last night, 1-0, to win the CONCACAF women's championship. this all means they have qualified for the next World Cup and the next Olympics.
i didn't watch much of the Home Run Derby last night. i would love to see Juan Soto in pinstripes one day, that's for sure.
The Captain last night was very good.
Don't Forget the Lyrics was really good last night.
Monday Night Raw was good last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be NXT, Deadliest Catch and What We Do in the Shadows.
Manchester United defeated Crystal Palace over in Australia this morning, 3-1. from what i saw on the highlights, i really like how they are playing now.
i might watch some of the MLB All-Star game tonight, mostly just to see the Yankees involved in the game.
i should be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done.
i had another night of shitty sleep once again. i'm guessing that is exactly what i have to look forward to tonight as well.
good times.

so yesterday had a bit of everything in it. the trip to get my mother's pills turned into another grocery store odyssey. i knew we were going to have cheeseburgers for dinner last night, so i knew i needed to get more of those and i figured fuck it, just get what is on the list. and Kroger was busier than shit, but i did get everything on the list. hopefully, that means there will be less on the list on Wednesday.
WWE Money in the Bank was spectacular last night. other than the stream being fucked up on Peacock right as the men's match was getting ready to start, i thought the whole show was great.
the Yankees beat the Red Sox last night, 9-1. they took 2 out of 3 in the series. at least that's a start. they are off tonight and start a series at home tomorrow with the Phillies.
the USMNT defeated Canada yesterday, 1-0, to win the group at the Gold Cup. they scored 20 seconds into the game and then just held the fuck on for the rest. i really hope they don't think this is a recipe for success going forward in this tournament.
Big Brother was good last night. hopefully, this will be Frenchie's last week in the house.
Power Book III: Raising Kanan was excellent last night.
The White Lotus was really good last night.
The Chi was great last night. just two episodes remain for this season.
Black Monday was fucking crazy last night.
Flatbush Misdemeanors was pretty funny last night.
Desus & Mero was great last night.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.
i did listen to episode 352 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:
my order of football cards arrived today from Panini. i'll open those up after i get out of the shower.
and now that you are thinking of me naked... i'm getting the itch to do another SoundCloud recording here soon. if any musicians or other poets want to remix or collaborate on some of this shit, i'd love to. i'm really down for anything creative these days.
Manchester United lost today in the FA Cup semifinals to Chelsea 3-1. from everything i have heard about the game, i probably would have blown a gasket or two screaming, so it's probably for the best i didn't watch it. oh well, at least Tottenham did us a favor this morning in the Premier League, so the Wednesday game against West Ham will be a great chance to move into the top 4 again.
my sister was down here for a couple hours yesterday. she bought us lunch and helped mom put together her trellis for when she wants to start growing tomatoes.
ROH was very good last night.
Austin City Limits was the episode with Sam Smith and Anderson East that i accidentally deleted a few months ago.

on the DVR tonight will be the season finale of Black Monday, The Chi, Desus & Mero, Perry Mason, I'll Be Gone in the Dark and Last Week Tonight. i'll be watching WWE Extreme Rules on WWE Network for most of the evening.
i did watch the Yankees beat the Mets last night 9-3. tonight, they play again at Yankee Stadium.
i did watch some of the MLS games last night. "El Trafico" never disappoints.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. this damn weather is in one hell of an oppressive stretch and the air conditioning running constantly has become a fucking soundtrack in my head. joy.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday is even better.

when i took a shower last night around 3 in the morning, i was hoping to get a few hours of sleep and then get all the shopping done before noon. i didn't get nearly as much sleep as i wanted, but when i pulled into the garage at 12:10 this afternoon, i was pretty pleased.
of course, just being out for a couple of hours, i am fucking drained from the heat.
the grocery store was pretty crowded this morning. i guess everyone had the same thought i did. figures.
the New York Yankees won both games of the doubleheader yesterday against Tampa. i give Aaron Boone a ton of credit for his savage verbal ass ripping of the home plate umpire in the first game. you could tell the team really responded after that. the Yankees won the first game 6-2 and the second game 5-1. they start a series with Colorado tonight. they have opened up a 8 game lead in the division now.
Holey Moley was stupid fun last night.
Big Brother went as expected last night. i loved the blindside and i love that Cliff won to stay in the house. then he went on to win HOH. this should be a fun week with the other side of the house finally in power.
there are times in my life where chaos seems to be the only thing keeping me alive. check off yesterday as one of those days where chaos slipped through the cracks and made a fucking party out of things. first off, the woman from Italy has turned a bit sketchy here lately. ever since i told her i couldn't afford to buy her a phone, more or less any communication was pretty much over. and for the last 3 days, i have asked her repeatedly if she was messing around with someone else and she has refused to answer the question. i'm old enough to know what that means. and today she sends me a picture of her pussy and the first thing that pops into my mind was, didn't you tell me your phone was fucked up? the more i have thought about things, the more i'm realizing this is a fucking scam. thank fucking god i was only robbed of time and not any money.
any longtime fans of this blog or my writing knows of the muse. the last woman i was in love with and we had a disastrous falling out and haven't really spoke much over the last couple of years. a few months ago, we passed messages back and forth and i guess that sort of broke the ice. yesterday, we just started talking and talking and then everything came out. some truths i never knew, an apology on my end that was way overdue and my tendency to become a little poetic at times when speaking to someone that i have shared so much with. i can't say that the muse and i are "us" again. i can't say that "we" is an appropriate term for whatever the muse and i happen to be. but, while writing a 2 page letter to her last night, i truly hope that the possibility of anything is on the table with the muse. even though i'm pretty damn sure we drive each other crazy, who am i to say that isn't something i deserve? the muse had never given me her address before. and yesterday was the first time the muse ever admitted to me she was in love with me at one point. so, as i told her yesterday, may our better angels within us find something to bring happiness to our lives.
it amazes me at times that anyone at all has any feelings for me. i certainly don't love myself enough to warrant anything like this. that being said, i'm 42 years old now. i'm much closer to death than i want to realize. i don't want to die and know i never had at least one fucking relationship with a woman in my life that was something close to fucking magical.
i figure at some point tonight, a flood of poems will be coming. and it hasn't been lost upon me that all of this has happened since the anchor in my life was finally let go.
NXT was really good last night.
Lucha Underground was excellent last night.
Big Brother was pretty good last night. i have no clue who is being evicted tonight, although if Brett is evicted, i do hope Sam uses her power on him. i wouldn't mind if Winston gets evicted tonight at all.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother, Lip Sync Battle and Snowfall.
i mailed some copies of my latest chapbook out today. i'm sort of interested in what other people think of it. after that, i had to go to the local grocery store. they had a pretty decent sale on some stuff mom wanted. and i was able to do all that before the heat got too bad today. my back is telling me what is coming this weekend. oh joy.
i will probably be on here tomorrow after a trip to the big grocery store.
that's all for me kids.

my right shoulder hurts so fucking much these days that i have to figure out a new way to sleep. i have slept on my right side for years now. unless i drink myself into a coma, that isn't possible anymore. i got no more than 45 minutes trying to sleep that way last night. so, more or less, i just fucking tossed and turned all night. i figure i'll be out in my chair before too long.
the New York Yankees won last night, 6-3. they go for the series win against Minnesota this afternoon. they also made a pretty big trade last night. they somehow got rid of Tyler Clippard, along with 3 prospects, and got back 3 useful pieces from the White Sox; Todd Frazier, David Robertson and Tommy Kahnle. both pitchers used to be with the Yankees and Frazier should give them some much needed help at third and first base.
Smackdown was not as good as i thought it was going to be last night. i figured, going into WWE Battleground this Sunday, the show would be good. so much for that.
205 Live was pretty good last night.
The Jim Jefferies Show last night was fucking hilarious.
Deadliest Catch was really good last night.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother, Lip Sync Battle, Lucha Underground and Snowfall. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.
in Gold Cup action tonight, the USA takes on El Salvador with the winner advancing to the semifinals. i'd like to think that the USA will win tonight, but anything is possible these days.
i've heard back from a couple places i sent to yesterday, but i don't know which poems are going to be published yet. but the signs are looking good.
i think it's supposed to be yet another hot and sticky day here. i know i need to get some damn bread at the grocery store at some point today. so much for getting that done this morning.

so, i got up this morning, probably after only 3 hours of sleep AGAIN and started walking to the bathroom. my stomach started to rumble and i said, oh fuck. thankfully i made it to the toilet in time. of course, 40 minutes later i was back on it. i'm guessing it was dinner, but i always live under the premise that my metabolism doesn't work that fast.
the New York Yankees won last night 2-1. i didn't watch much of the game at all. they play Baltimore again tonight.
Monday Night Raw started off good last night. i figured Daniel Bryan would be the new general manager for Smackdown. i was shocked that Mick Foley is the new general manager for Raw. that could be very interesting. i also loved that they said the Crusierweights were coming back and were going to be exclusive to Raw. that has the potential to be awesome. the main event of the night had a clusterfuck finish that was totally unsatisfying. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins put on a great match. of course, when i saw they were going to wrestle again tonight, on the first live Smackdown on its new night, i understood it more. hopefully tonight has a clean finish.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be WWE Smackdown and Deadliest Catch. i'll probably watch some WWE Network tonight as well to follow their draft.
i got another check in the mail today from doing surveys, so it looks like i'll be heading to the bank tomorrow, weather permitting. of course, it's the same bank that got robbed last week i believe, so that should be interesting.
i'm trying my best to avoid politics, but it's damn near impossible anymore.
the weather is supposed to be horrible here in a few days. when they say the feels like temp will be near 100, i know i'm bound to the indoors.
that's all for me kids. i have trash to pick up around the house and next door.

we have now entered the never ending summer cycle of heat, humidity, storm, night, do it all over again. at one point yesterday, the thermometer we have outside read 115 on it. thankfully, it was directly in the sun at the time. most of the day though, it was over 90 degrees. so imagine my joy when i wake up this morning and it is already 80 degrees. fuck me.
my friend Paul did come over yesterday to watch the USA absolutely destroy Cuba 6-0. finally, they played a full 90 minutes. they will next play Jamaica in the semifinals of the Gold Cup. enjoy some highlights:
the New York Yankees lost yesterday 4-3. Pineda really only made 2 mistakes. sadly, they both ended up in the seats. but, at least they gave themselves a chance in the 9th, but the rally fell short. they go for the series win this afternoon.
Power last night was really good. it had a nice twist near the end that i truly wasn't expecting. it should make the next few weeks really interesting.
ROH was kind of disappointing last night. it was the 200th episode and they decided to treat most of it as a clip show. for someone who has seen most of the 200 episodes, this was just a trip back into recent memory. if it would have been the history of the company, it would have made more sense. and the main event of the show was great, but it couldn't save the previous 45 minutes.
now go enjoy some music, some humor and my reminder of why i like women with curves:
WWE Battleground is on tonight. so my usual Sunday night shows are going to become my late night/early Monday morning Sunday night shows. on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, The Strain, True Detective, The Brink, Ballers, Last Week Tonight, Ray Donovan and Masters of Sex. that is if the storms don't knock out the satellite feed like last night.
a thing just popped up on the computer saying the storms are going to hit in 2 hours. good times.
hopefully tonight at Battleground Kevin Owens takes the US Championship away from John Cena. that would make me a very happy man. as for the rest of the show, as long as Lesnar and Rollins have a classic, i'm ok with whatever else happens.
i went on a LinkedIn rampage last night tracking down people from my past. not sure if part of me is dying to come out of my cage or if i'm just a lonely fucker at times who gets sick of myself most days. welcome to my world.
that's all for me this morning. my ankle is starting to bother me, so i know rain is on the way. good times. i hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday. if it wouldn't be so damn hot and stormy i'd go downtown for the Blues Festival, but i can't see that happening.

the power went out today. it was planned so the power company could upgrade some lines. it was supposed to be out for 1 hour. it was out for 3 minutes. you can imagine how happy i was as i was resetting all the fucking clocks in the house after that.
actually went to the grocery store today for the first time in a long time. but, it was just like the old days for me. get in and get out. i suppose i spent more time in the beer aisle than anywhere else. typical crazy guy cart: milk, beer, sunflower seeds, finch feeder, 3 bags of kitty litter, and some car cleaning supplies. i believe i have this recluse thing down now.
the Yankees tried to give away the sweep yesterday but ultimately won 9-5. they play Baltimore here in a few minutes. hopefully they have some revenge on their mind for this weekend.
critter update: i have figured out why the groundhog went missing. we now have 1 adult groundhog and 3 babies. just fucking great. also, my cat A Boy Named Sue somehow was able to hide a kitten from me for 6 months or so (i'm guessing from the size of it). needless to say i'm hoping the coyotes get busy real soon out here.
today was the start of free agency for the NHL. the New York Rangers made 2 minor moves. i was hoping they were going to get their restricted free agents signed today, but so far nothing on that front. there were a few surprises and a bunch of bad contracts. thankfully, the Rangers haven't made that mistake (yet).
i did watch that Philly Jam the Roots put on last night in Philadelphia. that was really good. a pretty diverse group of musicians.
i have to figure out what i'm eating for dinner tonight and what i'm going to watch if the Yankees start pissing me off. the beauty of DIRECTV i have found, i can usually find something.
i have a feeling this may end up being one of my infamous late night writing or painting sessions that end with a shower at 4 in the morning. if that happens, i will try to share the details sometime tomorrow.
my mother and sister made it down to South Carolina without any problems and seem to be having some fun. hopefully they bring me back something nice.
i hope everyone has a great weekend. now back to your regularly scheduled programming...
also, i hope you enjoy the 2 podcasts i added to the right side of the page...
