it was a beautiful sight last night, watching the New Orleans Saints defeat Tom Brady and Tampa Bay, 9-0. that was the first time Brady had been shut out in 15 years. and to watch him act like the cry baby bitch he is, priceless. hats off to the Saints defense. they played amazing last night.
i did take mom to physical therapy today. i wrote 4 poems while i was there. i typed those up when we got back from Waffle House for lunch.
VICE was excellent last night. the season finale is next week.
Dexter: New Blood was great last night.
Yellowjackets was awesome last night.
Power Book II: Ghost was very good last night. the show returns in a couple weeks.
Hightown was great last night.
Insecure was very good last night. the series finale is next week.
Curb Your Enthusiasm was hilarious last night.

nothing on the DVR tonight. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw and some football for most of the evening.
i did listen to episode 374 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can find that by going here:
mom has a ct scan in the morning. we have to be there by 8:30. i'm guessing i'll be on here after that and before the Dayton Flyers game tomorrow night.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.
i did get all my Christmas gifts wrapped yesterday.
that's all for me kids...
until tomorrow...

the New York Yankees got rained out last night. so, they are playing a doubleheader today starting at 4. that's why i'm doing the blog before i go grocery shopping.
Deadliest Catch was really good last night.
Hard Knocks was excellent last night.
here are your NBA highlights from last night:

when i took a shower last night around 3 in the morning, i was hoping to get a few hours of sleep and then get all the shopping done before noon. i didn't get nearly as much sleep as i wanted, but when i pulled into the garage at 12:10 this afternoon, i was pretty pleased.
of course, just being out for a couple of hours, i am fucking drained from the heat.
the grocery store was pretty crowded this morning. i guess everyone had the same thought i did. figures.
the New York Yankees won both games of the doubleheader yesterday against Tampa. i give Aaron Boone a ton of credit for his savage verbal ass ripping of the home plate umpire in the first game. you could tell the team really responded after that. the Yankees won the first game 6-2 and the second game 5-1. they start a series with Colorado tonight. they have opened up a 8 game lead in the division now.
Holey Moley was stupid fun last night.
Big Brother went as expected last night. i loved the blindside and i love that Cliff won to stay in the house. then he went on to win HOH. this should be a fun week with the other side of the house finally in power.
so today is the second day in a row my neck feels like shit. i was hoping the pill i take for the pinched nerve in my neck 3 times a day would work last night when i added a little heat on my neck. no luck. i basically had to drink alcohol last night to sleep at all. less than 5 measly hours. needless to say, i'm not going to the basketball game today.
the New York Rangers won last night in Buffalo, 6-2.
NJPW was pretty good last night.
WOW was good last night.
Real Time with Bill Maher was excellent last night.
2 Dope Queens was really good last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live and ROH. i'll probably watch the NBA All-Star Saturday Night events for most of the night (3 point contest, dunk contest, etc.)
the Dayton Flyers play today at home against VCU. Dayton is going to be missing Trey Landers, who hurt his shoulder in practice this week. i'll watch the game from home, but i figure VCU will probably win.
i had a woman ask me this morning for $2,500 so she could get married. what fucking world am i living in? this woman knew i am poor and still asked me. i shouldn't be surprised. i'm now convinced 99% of people on the internet are running a scam of some kind. i suppose this is the only time i'll ever be part of the 1%.
as many of you know, February for this blog, i try to do to a little each post for Black History Month. i think this year will be a video here and there, maybe a few links, god knows what else. i only hope to have people learn something they didn't know before.
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.
The Big Bang Theory was pretty good last night.
Young Sheldon was pretty funny last night.
Will & Grace was fucking hilarious last night.
Gotham was fucking great last night.
Lip Sync Battle was excellent last night.
the New York Rangers won last night at New Jersey, 4-3. that victory drink tasted so good last night.

mom's physical therapy appointment has been moved up today, so that's about all for today.
we did get almost 2 inches of snow last night. the guys mom use to clean off the driveway did that this morning.
it's actually supposed to be in the 40's and 50's this weekend. so, by Monday, i'm expecting everyone to be sick again.
i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. the Dayton Flyers play in the afternoon tomorrow. if i go to the game, there's a decent chance the blog will be done in the morning. if i don't go, it will be a late afternoon blog, probably.
i hope everyone has a great weekend.

mom's mental health evaluation today was a fucking joke. the doctor truly had no interest in anything mom had to say. he was simply doing whatever it took to get the paperwork he has to do for Social Security done so he could get to the next person. i was in the room with her and i don't think i have ever seen someone so fucking impatient in my life. he cut off mom mid-answer about 85% of their talk. i told mom that it was painfully obvious that he must get paid by the number of tasks he gets done, not by the hour. and i could tell he was annoyed that mom's interview went for a full 30 minutes. if she gets her disability claim denied because of this fuck, i'm going to be really fucking pissed.
after that we went out to lunch and did a little shopping. the sun was out today, so i figured we might as well take advantage of somewhat decent weather.
the New York Rangers gave up 2 goals in the first minute yesterday. only 1 of them counted thankfully. the Rangers were able to tie the score against Winnipeg the final minute of the first period. after that, i thought the Rangers were actually the better team. they won the game 3-1. that's the first time Winnipeg has lost 2 games in a row at home all season. hell, i guess the Rangers should have said they were blowing up the team a month ago. maybe they would be on a longer winning streak. the Rangers play again tomorrow night at Minnesota.
i took a chance on Here and Now last night on HBO and i'm so happy i did. i can tell right away that i'm really going to fucking love this show.
Homeland was pretty good last night.
The Chi was excellent last night.
Crashing was hilarious last night.
Divorce was good last night.
Our Cartoon President was fucking hilarious last night. i wouldn't be surprised if Stephen Colbert doesn't get death threats from all the Trump supporters over this show. god i loved it.
Celebrity Big Brother was good last night. i have no damn clue who will be going home tonight.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and Celebrity Big Brother. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.
our water went out last night. i thought maybe there was a vapor lock or something. i thought that theory was good until we found out today from our cousins that there was a water main break over by them last night. they live a few streets over. that's a much more likely cause.
before i get into bitching and complaining, a little poetry news...
i sent out 13 poems this morning. 3 to Raw Dog Press and 5 each to Street Poet Review and Synchronized Chaos. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.
the Dayton Flyers lost to UMass yesterday 86-82 in double overtime. Dayton had a chance to win in regulation, but the shot was just short. UMass got the benefit in the second overtime of a miracle shot that shouldn't have counted but since the A10 has a shitty television contract, none of the video feeds had the shot that showed the ball still in the player's hands when the clock was at zero. sadly, knowing Dayton, they would have still found a way to lose if the officials would have got the call right. last week the coach forgot to use a timeout. this week, the coach didn't bother to use any substitutions. from halftime to the first minute of the second overtime, the same 5 players played. this makes no fucking sense when UMass is basically down to a 2 man bench. i am stunned at the amount of basketball Anthony Grant seems to have forgotten. of course, he probably knows the school doesn't have the balls to admit their mistake and fire him after this season. this was one of those games that if this team was actually good, it would have left an awful taste in my mouth until the day i died.
the New York Rangers lost last night in Nashville 5-2. they lost two players to concussions on plays that somehow didn't result in penalties on Nashville. what truly pissed me off was the guy the Rangers just got off waivers is supposed to be an enforcer. so you would think he would have started a fight or looked to get some kind of revenge for his teammates. nope. instead the Rangers best young defenseman had to do it. of course, the enforcer last played for Nashville, how convenient. at least this team is now in last place in the division. let the trades start happening please.
i did watch a good portion of the NFL Honors last night. Drew Brees won for clutch player of the year and the New Orleans Saints had both the offensive and defensive rookies of the year.
Saturday Night Live was fucking hilarious last night. i have loved Natalie Portman since she was 13 years old.
Austin City Limits was very good last night.
ROH was excellent last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Divorce and Crashing.
i'll probably be watching the Super Bowl for most of the evening. i really don't give a shit who wins the game. at this point, i just hope the fucking commercials are good.
i know my mother wants to watch This Is Us after the game. she's obsessed with that show.
i think Jimmy Fallon is doing a live Tonight Show late tonight. i'll probably watch that.
we did get a little snow overnight. it's a wet and heavy snow. just enough to fuck with the satellite dish. i was able to get out and get the newspaper. so i have zero plans on going back outside today.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday is even better.

so just as i was getting ready to get in bed last night, the news hits about that flight from Paris to Cairo. now, i'm a sucker for breaking news. i'm one of these assholes that wants to know what's going on at all times. so i was up until probably 2 in the morning or so, basically until my eyes couldn't stay open any longer. 4 hours of sleep, rinse and repeat. i was hoping to get some poetry work done but no... watching the news and sitting here at the computer, immersed in apathy. good times.
i think i'm going to take a shower after i get done writing this. maybe some cold or extremely hot water will jolt the system back into something other than its current state.
the New York Yankees actually won last night, 4-2. thank god. they start a 4 game series in Oakland tonight. joy, more west coast baseball.
Lucha Underground was really good last night.
NXT was excellent last night. anytime i get to watch Nakamura wrestle, i'm a happy man. plus, they showed the footage from a brawl between Balor and Samoa Joe that will mean the next chapter of their feud will be in a steel cage. that's a first for NXT.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be WWE Smackdown and Lip Sync Battle.
i think mom finally took the car to get the check engine light checked on. i guess the dumb fucks forgot to put back a hose when they changed her air filter 2 weeks ago. she wasn't very happy.
i saw that team USA advanced to the semi-finals of the Hockey World Championships today with a shootout win over Czech Republic. i might have to have a drink for that one.
today's been one of those days where you get a song stuck in your head and you can't escape it to save your life. you'll see what my brain was chewing on all day long in the music section.
i'll have to keep my eye out for some packages being delivered to the house the next couple of days. what i ordered mom for her birthday should be coming soon. that saves me from having to do some last minute shit in June.
that's all for me today kids. i think i'm going to go take a nap in the shower. good times.

so last night was a little weird. we got a phone call from next door saying that my uncle is now in remission. how the fuck can someone go from one day having cancer spread to the liver to being in remission in 24 hours? now, the one good thing about all of this, the doctor that told him he was in remission is the same doctor that was my stepfather's cancer doctor. so his word carries a little more weight than these other assholes in my book. so, i'm happy for my uncle, but i really hope no one thinks remission actually means cancer free.
it has been snowing here all day long. amazingly, i think we might have a 1/4 inch of accumulation. hopefully it stays that way.
NXT was really good last night. i am thrilled to see Austin Aries in NXT. too many people have no clue how fucking great he actually is. and the main event between Finn Balor and Neville was off the charts great.
Lucha Underground was amazing, as usual. the ladder match was about as violent as i have seen a ladder match be in years. plus, the awesome storytelling that comes with every episode was top notch once again.
enjoy some music kids:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Life in Pieces, WWE Smackdown and Baskets.
the New York Rangers play at Pittsburgh tonight. i did see that Rick Nash skated a little today in practice. he's about 2 weeks away from returning. hopefully the boys can continue to play well in his absence. tonight will be a strong test for them. hopefully i'll be enjoying a victory beer later tonight.
i've been swimming in nostalgia today in music. i happened to hear a song from The Replacements yesterday when i was driving and it has been stuck in my head ever since. one thing leads to another and i'm digging through all my music to find some songs from the 90's. you'll see it all in the music section below.
i took a long hot shower this afternoon, hoping that would help my arthritis some. i believe any relief i got is starting to wear off right now. good times.
i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. i think mom has a physical therapy appointment in the afternoon. so, i'll probably be on here in the early evening or so.
i hope this finds everyone figuring out what words of praise you want to say for the three poems i got published today.
