hot enough for ya...

when i went out to get the mail today, as soon as i went out of the garage i could tell it was fucking hot as hell. i went back inside, put some ice on my back and went to sleep. i actually got a couple of hours. that was very needed.

the Yankees won yesterday at home against Colorado, 10-3. they start a series tonight at the Nationals.

Big Brother was good last night.

Industry was excellent last night.

welcome to November...

so, another cold one today. mom slept past noon. thankfully, she wrote my check last night. so, i squeezed in a trip to the bank while doing the grocery shopping today. add in having to go to Rite Aid to pick up a prescription. my arthritis has been raging and i think i nearly broke the toilet when i took a shit this morning. good times. mom's new medicine she's on cost twice as much as all the groceries today. thank god my credit is good.

let me get the shit news out of the way. Manchester United lost in the League Cup today at home to Newcastle, 3-0. back to back home losses of 3-0. that is surely a way to make sure you get fired as coach. i won't be surprised if that happens soon. i turned the fucking game off when it was 2-0. just fucking awful.

holy shit, i just saw the TMZ story that Bobby Knight is dead.

i see 2023 is now making a push to be remembered as the year of death. good times.

NXT was very good last night.

Inside the NFL was good last night.

Welcome to Wrexham was awesome last night.

Big Brother was good last night.

The Voice was very good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be AEW Dynamite. i might watch some of the Columbus Crew in the MLS playoffs tonight as well.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

here are your highlights from Game 4 of the World Series last night. the Rangers are now up 3-1 in the series. Game 5 is tonight.

i should be on here tomorrow after i take mom to her appointment to have some bloodwork done.

i need to figure out dinner tonight.

i am running on roughly 3 hours of good sleep, so i know at some point i am going to fucking crash tonight. hopefully, it won't be in the middle of cooking or in the middle of taking a shit. i have always joked about going like Elvis, but i'd much rather die in my sleep or inside of a beautiful woman. that was typed to see if anyone is actually reading this and/or paying attention.

a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poems:

how i just love my bad back...

so, i woke up this morning and was feeling pretty good. did my usual routine of making coffee, watering the plants outside, checking emails, having breakfast, etc. right around 11:30 or so, i could feel my back start to tighten up. so, i grabbed an ice pack and headed to my massage chair. roughly 4 hours later now, my back isn't feeling any better. joy.

the Yankees swept Oakland yesterday, winning 5-3. it was yet another come from behind victory. i only got to see the last 3 innings of it. Judge and Stanton homered and that accounted for all of the Yankees runs. they play tonight in Houston before going to Cleveland for a series there.

the grocery shopping went pretty good yesterday. i got everything on the list and managed to get gas yesterday and not spend over $40. that felt like a fucking miracle.

AEW Dynamite last night was fucking crazy.

i did watch a little bit of the Columbus Crew last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, NJPW and The Old Man. i'll watch NXT UK sometime tonight on Peacock.

hard to imagine that tomorrow is going to be the first day of July.

tonight is the start of NBA free agency. i thought it was going to be boring and then i saw that Kevin Durant has requested a trade from Brooklyn. so, now i'm expecting all hell to break loose.

in even crazier news, USC and UCLA want to join the Big Ten. holy shit.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

i think i might spend the rest of today doing my laundry. i'm sure that will do wonders for my bad back.

ok kids, that's all for now.

the beauty of running on fumes...

so, my mother wanted McDonalds for breakfast this morning. she decided today was her "cheat" day. there's 30 minutes of my life i'll never get back. while we were eating breakfast, her accountant called to tell her the taxes were done and ready for her to sign and pay. so, she asked me to take her over there this morning. no big deal really, just a few minutes from the house. so, we get in there and she signs and then she realizes she didn't bring her credit card. that old trick again. so, i had to pay for her taxes. and that started the snowball running downhill today. i went to the local grocery store and got some things i forgot yesterday. i then went to Big Lots to get some stuff. i was shocked they had baseball and football cards there. i even found some WWE cards i hadn't seen before. i had a 20% off coupon, so that came in handy. i spent around $30 on the cards and there was about $75 worth of them in the packs. i was going to go to Menards after Big Lots, but i forgot the fucking rebate at the house for Menards. thank god i realized that before i got too deep into the trip there. i found just about everything i was looking for at Menards. of course, that came to over $150 worth of stuff.

now mind you, i have done all of this on less than 4 hours of sleep. i'm pretty damn sure the candle burning at both ends is nearly out now.

the Yankees lost last night to Toronto, 6-5. that means the game tonight at Toronto is pretty much a MUST win. if they don't win tonight, they might have to sweep Tampa to make the playoffs.

the season finale of Big Brother went as i expected last night. Xavier won 9-0, as he should have.

AEW Dynamite was excellent last night.

Rhodes to The Top was pretty good last night.

The Masked Singer was crazy as usual last night.

Alter Ego put me to sleep last night.

American Horror Story: Double Feature started part 2 last night. Death Valley definitely gave me some X Files vibes for sure.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, What We Do in the Shadows, Dark Side of the Ring and Cake. i did watch NXT UK this afternoon. it was really good.

i imagine if i get bored tonight, i might watch some of the Bengals vs. Jaguars.

i did watch a little bit of the Columbus Crew match last night. i'm so happy they beat Cruz Azul to win the Campeones Cup.

i have nothing planned tomorrow. now, if mom cuts me a check, i might make a trip to the bank. hard to believe October starts tomorrow.

my back is begging for some ice and my massage chair, so that's all for me kids.

who doesn't want to start off a Monday with computer problems

so i had my first adventure with my new computer. i started messing around with some songs that i was going to put on my sister's mix cd for Christmas. after about 30 minutes, i thought i had the right mix so i figured i might as well burn one. just my luck, the computer said something was wrong. after i tried all the troubleshooting i could think of, i went back to Computer 101 and remembered... when in doubt, reboot. sure enough, it worked. i had to rework the songs a bit but i was able to burn my sister a cd and used all but 6 seconds of the time on it. she'll either love it or be embarrassed that she is related to me. good times.

and just when i thought my day was done, shortly after cutting out some coupons for my mother, i was racing to the toilet with the shits. one thing i have learned over the years, if you really want to clean yourself out, drink apple juice. sure enough, i had apple juice for lunch. i didn't know it was going to clean me out just 2 hours later. good times.

i watched most of the MLS Cup last night. i felt bad for Columbus. when your goalie makes a fuck up like that in the first 30 seconds, that's a tough one to overcome. when the officials blow a beyond obvious call and 20 seconds later it's in the back of your net, that's the end folks. while Columbus came back to make it 2-1, they never really made me think that Portland was really in trouble. and if there is a coach i'd love to see be the next leader of US Soccer, it's Caleb Porter.

i watched most of the Jets vs. Giants game yesterday with my mother. she's a big Jets fan. she was stunned when they won in OT. i then watched most of the Saints vs. Panthers. i was thrilled that the Saints made some history
(that's the first blocked extra point ever to be returned for 2 points) but it was the same old story in the end with the Saints losing 41-38. as usual, stupid fucking penalties did the Saints in. that's been the story all damn season.

thankfully, the New York Rangers managed to play arguably their best hockey game in a month. especially in the 3rd period where they absolutely shut Ottawa down. a 4-1 win that will hopefully put them in the right direction for this upcoming road trip out west.

Homeland was excellent last night. the show ended at just the right point. The Affair was great once again. i can't wait to see how the rest of the season unravels.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice (i have no fucking clue how they are going to cut from 9 to 4 after tonight) and the U2 concert on HBO. between that and The Who concert i recorded over the weekend, i'll have plenty of music to listen/watch over the holidays.

i'm hoping Monday Night Raw is good tonight. they are heading into a ppv, so it should be better than what it has been here lately.

the silly season has started in major league baseball. i see all these teams getting better and the Yankees really haven't done anything. oh joy.

i'm pretty sure i'm going to lose 2 of my 3 fantasy football matches this week. but i did manage to win fantasy hockey, barely.

i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade this afternoon. i'll put the link down in the music section.

i started working on my Christmas cards today. my apologies to my fans in foreign countries, i think i'm only going to be able to do email this year for all of you. as for the rest of you, you have been warned.

i hope everyone had a great Sunday.

it reminded me of when i was asked to wash my father's feet

i was all set for the Dayton vs. Xavier game yesterday. i knew Dayton would only have a small chance to win, but i thought the guys were up to the challenge. sadly, within 30 seconds, i knew the officials were going to ruin this game. i understand that they want to clean up college basketball and get more flow into the games. trust me, as a viewer, there is no fucking flow when the whistle blows every 20 seconds or so. and no one on earth wants to watch a fucking free throw exhibition. that being said, Xavier absolutely whipped Dayton yesterday. i'm really hoping the boys were humbled to the point where they know they have to work that much harder. 90-61 was nothing like what i thought the game would be like. and honestly, during points of the second half where i had to change the channel or i was going to break the television, the game didn't feel that close.

that brings me to the New Orleans Saints. they lost yesterday 24-6. it was the first game in a decade where they didn't score a touchdown. it damn near reminded me of my youth where the fans of the Saints would wear bags on their heads. it was god fucking awful at times. and wouldn't you know, here come the undefeated Carolina Panthers. just tank the fucking season now and get a good draft pick. fuck me runnin'.

as you might imagine, my Sunday wasn't a really great day. i did manage to actually win a week in fantasy hockey. i went from last place in the division to 3rd. and i'm winning two of the three fantasy football matches. i need a bit of a miracle tonight from Baltimore, but given how they have played this season, i doubt it will happen.

thankfully, the Sunday night shows were excellent. Homeland was really good. The Affair was spectacular last night. the music was perfect. the pace of the show was perfect. the hot tub scene was awesome and the ending was heartbreaking and creepy at the same time. this season has really been better than the first one. i can't wait for next week.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

congrats to the Columbus Crew for making it to the MLS Cup. i'm tempted to find a way up there to see it next Sunday. doubt that happens though.

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and Gotham. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw.

the New York Rangers play Carolina tonight at home. i'm really hoping they stop this fucking losing streak at 3.

in case you were wondering, the title of this blog post comes from what happened at the church i went to when we were taught a lesson in humility. my childhood is scarred from many of these lessons. it could be while i do believe in god and spirituality, the church itself can fucking go to hell. as George Carlin pointed out years ago, organized religion was created to keep crazy people in line. it has morphed into a perverted way to make money and keep people dumb. this is also why i don't talk about religion much. who the fuck wants to be reminded of washing your father's feet?

that's all for me today. once the guy mom hired puts in the new toilet (i might actually get to shit in my own bathroom for the first time since god knows when) we might take a trip to Best Buy to start the process of fixing my computer. i won't get my hopes up but at the very least, i'd love to get all my music and photos off of it. and i'm sure mom would like all her work shit off of it as well.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. your Sunday was most likely better than mine. can you fucking believe tomorrow is the first day of December? i guess i should get started on Christmas cards pretty soon. if i like you as a person and have your address, i'll give you a warning for when you should start checking the mail box.
