and here comes the sickness...

i caught the weather forecast last night and thought oh shit, here comes everyone getting sick. it's been somewhat warm for the last week or so and now here comes a cold front and temps in the 40's and 50's. i'll enjoy the weather but i'm surrounded by old people. this is the weather they all detest. maybe some of them have places in warmer climates and they won't be around here. of course, that's most likely wishful thinking.

the New York Yankees continued their slide into pissing away a chance at the playoffs by losing to Boston last night 10-4. i think i might have turned the game off in the top of the 1st inning. the magic number though is down to 2. so, maybe they just backslide into the playoffs with all the other wild card teams beating each other up. sadly, if they do make it and win that playoff game, they will have to face the Blue Jays. i doubt that series lasts long. the Yankees face Boston again tonight if mother nature cooperates. Tanaka is supposed to go tonight. it's a big start as this lines him up for that wild card game. figuring their luck here lately, tonight gets rained out and they have a doubleheader tomorrow.

for some reason the DVR didn't record the first 9 minutes of The Voice last night. judging from what i could figure out, i didn't miss much. my favorite performance last night was an easy one to choose. anyone who is smart enough to do a John Prine song is a winner in my book:

The Muppets was pretty funny last night. Scream Queens was once again so damn bad it was great. Total Divas was nearly a waste of time. i was more interested in Tyson Kidd's injury but the whole show was basically about Paige being scared to settle down and Dolph Ziggler "trying" to get back with Nikki Bella. it was one of those hours where you remember that reality shows aren't actually reality.

time for some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be You're The Worst. i'm looking forward to NXT tonight on the WWE Network as this will be the last show before the next live event.

Manchester United plays Wolfsburg today in Champions League group play. this is a MUST WIN game for United. i'm not sure how much i will get to see of it though as mom will be getting out of her conference and heading back home pretty much at the same time the game is going on. she wants to meet at the car rental place so she can turn it back in early.

the New York Rangers play their final preseason game tonight vs. Boston. i can't wait for hockey season to start back up.

that's pretty much all for me today. the rain has finally stopped but my body is still aching. maybe a long hot shower will do the trick. of course, the phone will ring in the middle of that shower. i learned a long time ago, if you're waiting for something to happen, go do something else. when i lived alone at the farm and was waiting for a phone call, i'd either go take a shower or a long shit. it never failed, the phone always rang.

not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. when i do get back on here, i'm hoping i have nothing but good news to report.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

just enough drizzle to make it miserable

i got in bed to watch tv last night and my neck started killing me. it wasn't the pinched nerve, it was more or less i strained the neck somehow. i figure i took a nap in the chair and must have moved my neck to the side or something. who the fuck knows, it certainly hasn't got any better. add in the drizzle we've got off and on for all of today, and i am basically fucking miserable. good times.

mom will be proud, i did go over to my uncle's and get his trash down to the curb. i also have guilted him into recycling. of course, they just throw anything they think is recyclable into a trash bag. i'm the lucky one that has to go through it. the joys of saving the earth. now i have to pick up all the trash in this house. my luck, when i take it down to the curb it will be all thunder and lightning.

i did come back to win one of the fantasy football matchups i was trailing in last night. i made the one where i was losing by 61 somewhat respectable and only lost by 30. the other one i held on by the skin of my teeth to win by less than 2 points. i went 11-5 in my picks. that's much better than last week.

the New York Yankees inept fucking offense showed up last night and lost to Boston 5-1. the magic number is still at 3. they play again tonight, i'm hoping to avoid it as much as possible.

i did watch a good portion of the New York Rangers game last night vs. Philadelphia. i certainly liked that the Rangers came back from being down 2 goals to win in OT. i didn't like the fact that they still can't fucking score on the power play. oh well, they play again tomorrow against Boston. here's the game winner from last night:

Monday Night Raw was so so last night. there certainly were parts that i liked and other parts where i gladly flipped to football or The Voice.

The Voice was excellent last night. i really enjoyed a few of the singers in this episode. plus, the last performance certainly turned into a memorable one:

Gotham was amazing last night. i love the actor doing the young Joker character. this season is going to be awesome.

The Big Bang Theory was really good. Life in Pieces had me close to tears in a few moments. that is one funny ass show. i also watched the Men in Blazers last night, mostly for shits and giggles.

time for some music kids:

now some of this and that:

i spent a good portion of the afternoon finding some great FREE music on NoiseTrade. i will put those links down in the music section.

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, The Muppets, Scream Queens and Total Divas.

i will probably be back on here tomorrow morning seeing that Manchester United plays in the afternoon and i will have to pick up mom at the car rental place sometime during the late afternoon/early evening. good times.

that's all for me. i have toilets to clean and trash to pick up. the drizzle has now turned to rain and my body is calling for a tall glass of vodka.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

what could be more fun than being dead tired while standing in line at the bank

i think i finally fell asleep around 4 in the morning. by 8 i was up and ready to get cracking on the poems. i got some positive feedback from my latest YouTube video, so i think i was running on that juice.

i sent out 27 poems today, 5 each to Carcinogenic Poetry, Big Hammer and Nerve Cowboy. 3 each to Napalm and Novocain, Pyrokinection, Dead Snakes and Mad Swirl. when i hear back from those places, i'll pass along the verdicts. i held 9 poems back for 2 other places that i'm waiting to send to.

when i walked into the bank today, the line was nearly out to the outside lobby. i was behind these two black girls, i'm saying girls because they looked like they were maybe out of high school. now, the problem i have with attractive black women in public wearing next to nothing is i will look at them and think of which web cam girl they remind me of. and since the one i was standing behind had shorts on that nearly covered all of her ass, i had about 100 names running through my head. all this while listening to the two black women behind me talk about sororities at the university of Cincinnati. there probably should be a study done on my brain some day.

i had mixed results with my fantasy football. i have a decent lead in one, a deficit i should be able to come back from in another and let's just say i had my ass handed to me in the other one. i'm down 61 points and my opponent still has Aaron Rodgers to play tonight. i have 3 guys going and i know i have no fucking chance. i did much better in my picks though, if Green Bay wins tonight, i'll have 11 wins for the week.

the VICE special on the prison system last night was good. sadly, i already know most of the shit they talked about given the number of people i have known that have gone to prison. but, if you are ignorant or don't think the system is broken, i urge you to watch it. here's a clip from it:

The Strain was excellent last night. it set up a holy shit i can't wait for the season finale next week. the season finale of Ray Donovan was great. that had an oh shit ending as well. for that matter, so did the season finale of Masters of Sex. Last Week Tonight was excellent as always:

time for some music kids:

now some of this and that:
i believe i may have found the most amazing looking woman on the planet. that video will haunt my damn dreams until the day i die.

the New York Yankees won yesterday 6-1. they took 3 out of 4 against the White Sox. that takes the magic number down to 3 to clinch a playoff spot. they start a series tonight against Boston. it would be nice to clinch a spot against those fuckers.

the New Orleans Saints did pretty much what i thought they would do yesterday. they kept it close but ultimately lost 27-22. they next play against Dallas. Drew Brees hopes to play in the game. i won't get my hopes up.

tonight is the usual clusterfuck on the DVR. since i will be flipping between Monday Night Raw, Monday Night Football, the baseball game and the New York Rangers vs. Philadelphia, recording on the DVR will be Gotham, The Voice, The Big Bang Theory and Life in Pieces. good thing i don't give two shits about sleep.

sometime tonight i'll vacuum the house (probably before the shows start) and make some dinner. i was hoping to make some soup but all we have is cream of whatever and nothing like i was hoping to have. so i'm probably going with gourmet grilled cheese tonight. mom left money for me but i doubt i go out to get anything.

that's all for me today kids. i need to get going so i can maybe get a cat nap as well tonight. i hope everyone had a great weekend. no one called, so i doubt anyone needed bail money. that's a shame.

Sunday coffee and other drinking shenanigans...

i suppose it was around 2 in the morning that i decided i should just go to sleep. if the DVR has done one thing for me, it has given me at least more consistent sleep. not better or longer, but at least i'm now getting 4 or 5 hours at a time. the whole sleeping for 2 and then trying to fall back to sleep and get another 2 was certainly getting old. let alone how old it was making me. now i only feel like i'm 70 instead of 85.

yesterday was a day of victory beers. rare i can have one of those anymore.

Ohio State beat Western Michigan yesterday 38-12. the offense looked better but still left too many points out on the field. at least three would be touchdowns were under thrown. and they still didn't run the ball enough in my eyes. the defense gave up a ton of yards but did a great job limiting the damage. the special teams played really good. Big Ten play starts next week. they better fine tune everything once again.

the New York Yankees i guess are saving the offense for the playoffs. they got some really good pitching yesterday and just enough offense to beat the White Sox 2-1. they go for the series win this afternoon. the magic number to clinch a payoff spot is now 4.

i watched a good portion of the Global Citizen Festival yesterday. MSNBC was killing me with all the fucking commercials. nothing like the hypocrisy of trying to make the world a better place while still being a slave to capitalism. then the fuckers only showed bits and pieces of the Pearl Jam performance as of course, they had to run commercials. thankfully, i found the broadcast on YouTube and got to see everything i missed. the performances were great by the way. Eddie Vedder and Beyonce doing "Redemption Song" and Beyonce and Ed Sheeran doing "Drunk in Love" were my top highlights. oh, and watching Bill Nye geek out to Pearl Jam covering "Rockin' in the Free World"

ROH was excellent last night. anytime an episode starts off with Matt Sydal vs. Kushida and finishes off with Nakamura vs. Adam Cole, you have yourself a damn near perfect episode of wrestling.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

i made some changes to my fantasy football rosters this morning. i guess i'll know by Monday night if i made the right choices or not.

the New Orleans Saints play at Carolina today without Drew Brees. i think they might keep it closer than people think, but i don't have much hope of them winning.

the New York Rangers beat the Devils last night 4-3. they scored 2 third period goals to win. they lost the exhibition 3 on 3 OT mostly because they took a penalty. 3 on 3 will definitely be crazy to watch this season. the team made some cuts after the game that kind of shocked me. but, i think the guys i wanted to get a longer look will probably be up mid-season anyway.

on the DVR tonight will be Last Week Tonight, The Strain, Ray Donovan, Masters of Sex and the VICE Special Report: Fixing The System.

i'm not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. with mom being away, i have plenty of shit i want to get done. i need to go to the bank to made a deposit. i have a tree to cut down. i'm sure i'll have dishes to do, toilets to clean, carpet to vacuum and i don't want to be the asshole who waits until right before she comes home to do it. of course, that's probably what i'll end up doing. i do know i want to start cranking out the poetry submissions tomorrow and since i'll be going out to the bank, i might as well put the post office on the list. so if i'm a good boy and get my ass in gear in the morning, i'll be on here in the afternoon. but no promises.

i hope everyone had a wonderful Saturday. other than the rain and my bone spurs fucking with me, mine wasn't bad. enjoy your Sunday. may whatever ritual you have for the day agree with you.

top of the league

when i saw the weather forecast last night i wasn't pleased. i knew with the rain and clouds moving in, my body would be aching. so i said fuck it and stayed up late last night doing some poetry work. i figured out 2 other places to send to so whenever i send these poems out, it's going to be a massive submission. since mom will be gone, i'm thinking i'm going to dust off one of my classic late Sunday night/Monday morning poetry sessions. if i get in the right mood, i might even crank out a new YouTube video.

i downloaded the new Run The Jewels album this morning. it was FREE. i thought the remixes with cat sounds was going to be dumb, but honestly, it's fucking brilliant. i'll put the link to it down in the music section.

NJPW was excellent last night. i am even more tempted now to get their streaming service.

the New York Yankees spit the bit last night and lost 5-2. they had plenty of chances but hit into a double play every fucking time they had a chance to score runs. it's painfully obvious with the pitching in tatters and the offense more cold than hot down the stretch, there will be no long playoff run this season. hell, i'm still not convinced they are going to make it to the playoffs to begin with. they play again this afternoon. i won't be watching.

time for some music kids, enjoy:

and now some of this and that:

i got up this morning and much to my delight, Manchester Shitty lost 4-1. that meant if United could win, they would go to the top of the league. of course, i had to drive mom to get her rental car at the same time the game started. i recorded it and basically fast forwarded most of the game when i got back home. thank god, Wayne Rooney finally ended his goal scoring drought. the other goals were scored by Memphis and Juan Mata. the 3-0 win over Sunderland puts Manchester United at the top of the Premier League. i'm not sure how many times i'm going to be able to say that this season, so i'm going to enjoy that victory beer.

Ohio State plays Western Michigan this afternoon. god willing, the offense actually starts to click this week. but if i could give the offensive coordinator a bit of advice... RUN THE FUCKING BALL...

i have that Global Citizen Festival set to record today while i'm watching sports. mostly i want to see Pearl Jam play. i figure i will flip over to it at times today. on the DVR tonight will be ROH.

that's pretty much all for me today. i hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday. enjoy some sun, some drinks, some lines of whatever and whatever the fuck else your heart desires.

and sometimes i'm the bleary eyed madman...

my theory is the dumb fuck that delivered the mail today forgot to put down the flags of the people who had mail to pick up. that's why i didn't get the mail until 5 PM. and of course, i should have gone out earlier and checked, but my disgust with people kind of makes that impossible. i'm sort of in my keep your mouth shut and eyes open phase of getting to know people around here. as usual, i'm looking for a disgruntled wife or a daughter getting ready to turn 18. simply looking for a muse you sick fucks. anything else would be quite the fucking surprise on my end.

in the mail today was a response from Hiram Poetry Review on my submission from July. they decided to pass but want me to try them again. i probably would if they would have sent back the poems they rejected. instead, since i had to print them out again, HPR will be shuffled back down the list. and thankfully, i didn't send out any poems today, because the 5 that got rejected will easily find homes at other places. so that more or less will change all the submissions i had lined up. this is the joy of being a poor poet with a healthy ego.

i picked the football game right last night. most of my fantasy players did decent except for the Washington RB i started that fumbled a touchdown out of the end zone.

the New York Yankees won last night 3-2. Carlos Beltran hit a 3 run homer and the pitching held on for dear life after that. the magic number to clinch a playoff spot is 6. hopefully they lower that number tonight.

Married was excellent last night. i really enjoyed the fact that the story was about trying to do a book and the strain that can cause between friends. i suppose that is why none of my friends really live close to me.

time for some music kids. fuck it, the weekend starts now:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW.

the New York Rangers lost in a shootout last night to Boston. i was pleased that they were winning the game when The King was in. he won't come out after 40 minutes in the regular season. they play tomorrow against the Devils.

i saw that the University of Dayton hired a new Athletic Director today. i automatically felt old when the new AD is younger than i am. hopefully he can clean up this Dyshawn Pierre mess. not sure how someone gets suspended for 10 games when the police and prosecutor's office didn't bring any charges against him. and if i was the coach of the team, rest assured i'm looking for the first big time job that comes my way now after the administration rushed to judgment on my senior captain. what a fucking mess.

Manchester United plays Sunderland tomorrow morning. i will probably post a blog before then. if i don't, it will surely be before Ohio State plays in the afternoon.

i got some awesome FREE music on NoiseTrade today from one of my favorite artists, Warren Haynes. i HIGHLY recommend you check out the link below in the music section.

finding joy in the misery of others

after i watched the New York Yankees lose last night, i was able to turn over to the good shit on Big Brother. i was so happy that Steve beat Vanessa in the final HOH. i was even happier when he made the $500,000 decision to take Liz to the finals. i'm sure once the house guests found out that Vanessa is a professional poker player who has made millions of dollars, they didn't feel bad that she didn't get shit. Steve deserved to win as he played a very deliberate and coy game. Liz should split that $50,000 with Austin as he obviously protected her until the final 4 basically. i did love the look on Austin's face when no one from his side of the house won America's favorite player. of course, i would have given it to Johnny Mac as i really didn't care for James. but, apparently America enjoyed watching him basically playing Meg's gay best friend for the summer. oh well. that guilty pleasure is now over with, at least until next summer.

the Yankees couldn't get anything going last night. the starting pitching was good and i have to wonder why Girardi took Nova out when he did. the bullpen other than the two he trusts right now is a fucking dumpster fire. they took a 0-0 game and turned it into a 4-0 loss. that pretty much ends all hope of winning the division. now the team MUST focus on at least getting home field for the wild card game. they have a comfortable lead in that, though one shitty losing streak and that will be gone in the final week of the season. they play at home tonight against the White Sox. i'm not sure how much of it i'm going to watch.

You're The Worst was excellent last night. it is easily the most realistic relationship show on television these days.

NXT was pretty good last night. i enjoyed the tag team title match and i really can't wait until the masses gets to see Asuka wrestle. she's amazing. here's some highlights:

time to enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

and because i'm in the mood, here's some more music:

on the DVR tonight will be Married.

the New York Rangers play Boston tonight. i won't be able to see the game live, so i'll probably follow online somehow. i do have some players going in the NFL game tonight, so i'll be paying a little attention to that. all my QB's this week have shitty matchups, so i'm not getting my hopes up.

i got some FREE music on NoiseTrade today. i'll put the links down in the music section.

i did listen to the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast today. i highly recommend it.

mom and i made a quick run to the grocery store as my pills are just about out. they pushed my doctor's appointment back a few weeks and i noticed these pills don't have any refills on them, so i'm not sure what's going to happen. guess i'll find out in mid October. i did see a smoking hot blonde that cut in front of me in the cheese section at the store. i was tempted but i decided to just let my imagination take this one.

that's all for me today. i'm not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. i'd like to actually get some poetry shit done, but that all depends on what mood i'm in when i wake up. if it's the me against the world, game on. if it's the fuck it, i'll be dead soon me, you can rest assured that not a fucking thing will get done tomorrow.

i suppose if i reveal any more sides of me i'll be single for the rest of my life. (unless some unlucky soul really needs to know)

when you come to a fork in the road, take it.

i woke up this morning to the news that Yogi Berra was dead. knowing that he was 90 and his health was getting worse, i figured this day was coming. as a Yankees fan, Yogi became one of the things you always looked forward to. Old Timer's Day just won't be the same anymore.
http://www.theplayerstribune.com/yogi-berra-in-memoriam/

speaking of the Yankees, they had one of those games last night; edge of your seat, blown saves, frustration, ecstasy... it had just about everything. when Carlos Beltran put the Yankees ahead in the 8th, i felt good. when Andrew Miller blew just his second save of the season in the 9th, i was furious. when Greg Bird hit a 3 run homer in the 10th, the adrenaline was flowing for the rest of the night. the Yankees won 6-4 to keep hope of a division title alive at least. the rubber game of the series is tonight. hopefully i will be enjoying a victory beer at the end of the game.

the New York Rangers lost last night to Philadelphia 5-3. i really don't care about the scores in the preseason, i'm more concerned with how the players are playing. Mat Bodie and Oscar Lindberg really stood out to me last night. they survived the first round of cuts today. Bodie is a long shot to make the team. Lindberg is a guy i really want to make this team. i believe the next game is tomorrow against Boston.

The Voice was pretty good last night. i believe i have an early favorite:

Total Divas was good last night. the only part of the show i really wanted to see came 40 minutes into it:
but there was also this:

Scream Queens was great last night. just campy enough to be bad and great at the same time. The Muppets made me laugh mostly because of how awkward it felt at times. they weren't joking when they said this was going to be an adult themed show.

time for some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

Manchester United plays this afternoon against Ipswich Town in the Capital One Cup. United are playing at home so i expect a victory, though nothing seems to come easy for this team. and hopefully it goes much better than last season.

i made my football picks today. New England is my lock this week. i really didn't get any of the players i wanted in fantasy football, so this week could be a long one.

on the DVR tonight will be You're The Worst and the season finale of Big Brother. i would love to be shocked tonight and see someone other than Vanessa win.

NXT is on the WWE Network tonight. it looks like it should be a pretty good episode.

that's all for me today kids. i have dishes to put away and i would love to actually eat lunch, read the paper and go through the mail before Manchester United plays.

hope this finds everyone sneaking out of work early to go drink in a park.

and people think i like being the asshole...

i somehow managed to get more than 4 hours of sleep last night. i'm not exactly sure how it happened, but it certainly came in handy. not that i really had much energy today or anything, but it did give me enough to be the cantankerous asshole today. i think i am slowly realizing why we moved next door to my uncle. as his health is failing, my mother is becoming more and more the caretaker of him and his wife. and since my mother's health isn't great, you know who gets to do all the shit work. this is certainly how i expected to live the rest of my life... shaming my uncle into recycling, separating their trash. imagine my joy of getting a plastic bottle out of a bag of used pads. there's got to be about 50 fucking poems right there. these are the days where i used to be able to just go sit outside and not be heard by anyone or seen by anyone. sit on the backside of a barn, smoke something, have a bottle with me, and just let my thoughts go. now, i can be one of these assholes and just sit in my garage watching everyone else in the neighborhood do the same thing. if only my bedroom had a shitter in it...

after doing about 90 minutes of surveys today, i started to go through the poems. i have 28 poems that will be sent out soon or something like that. i set aside some poems for places that i will send to once i hear back on my prior submissions. the old John Wooden line is forever in my head... failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

i still have the trash to pick up around here. i will try to get that done sometime tonight between all the shit i want to do.

the New York Yankees lost last night 4-2. they had their chances but, as usual this season, they pissed them away. i really hope they win at least one game in this series so i don't have to watch the Blue Jays celebrate making the playoffs against the Yankees. Severino pitches tonight. his 2 worst games in his young career have been against Toronto. god i hope that changes tonight.

the New York Rangers won last night 6-3. of course the game was blacked out here so i had to wait until later to see the highlights. they play again tonight against Philadelphia. i will be able to see that one as it is on the NHL Network. they are trying out the 3 on 3 OT tonight. that should be interesting.

i thought The Voice last night was pretty good. one performance really stood out to me:
hopefully the show tonight will be even better.

Gotham last night was brilliant. i can't wait to see how this season turns out. The Big Bang Theory was good. i thought i would laugh a little more than what i did. Life in Pieces was hilarious. that's a new show that i really think will make it.

ok kids, time for intermission:

and now some of this and that:

and now possibly the greatest cover of a song i have ever heard:

with the Colts losing last night, i went 6-10 on my NFL picks for week 2. not good. but, i did win all 3 of my fantasy matchups. hopefully i have found the right combination of players to start a nice long streak. and hopefully my picks are much, MUCH better for week 3.

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, Scream Queens, The Muppets and Total Divas. i'll be flipping between hockey and baseball for most of the night.

i got some FREE music at NoiseTrade today. i will put those links down in the music section.

i will be on here early tomorrow as Manchester United plays in the afternoon. of course, i will have to find the game somewhere on the internet to watch it. hopefully it goes much better than their first game in the Capital One Cup last season.

that's all for me kids. i think we're going to have to turn the air conditioner back on here. we've gone a few days with the windows open. the humidity is slowly getting to me.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

release the poison

so i was up at 4 in the morning, actually i hadn't gone to bed yet, trying to write out the poem that's been stuck in my head for a few days. i got it out finally, along with two others. i typed them up this afternoon and i figure they will be part of my next big submission of poems, probably in a few days.

i stayed up late last night watching all the shows i missed while i was watching wrestling. i only watched a few minutes of Big Brother. since it was a highlight episode and i've watched the whole damn season, i felt like i didn't need to watch it. The Strain was excellent last night. it had a few wrinkles to the story that were very intriguing. Ray Donovan was excellent. Masters of Sex was better than i thought it was going to be from where it started out.

Night of Champions was pretty good last night. it helped that i wanted Kevin Owens and Charlotte to win the titles last night and they did. as i expected, John Cena won back the US Title. unless he loses it tonight on Monday Night Raw, it's really just another case of John Cena isn't allowed to lose. Kane coming back was expected. i didn't expect Chris Jericho to be the mystery partner. and since they are now hinting at a Jericho vs. Dean Ambrose program coming up, i'm all for that. i'm interested to see where they go tonight on Monday Night Raw.

the New York Yankees were being shutout by the Mets last night until their starter had to come out because the owners and doctors are pussies. the Yankees exploded for 11 runs to win the game 11-2. the Red Sox beat Toronto so the Yankees go into Toronto tonight to start a 3 game series, sitting 2 1/2 games behind the Blue Jays for the division lead. if they can get the win tonight, maybe the Blue Jays start to sweat a little. sadly, Tanaka won't be pitching in this series. he strained his hamstring running out a bunt. stupid National League rules. hopefully i'll be enjoying a victory beer later tonight.

the New Orleans Saints lost yesterday 26-19 to a Tampa Bay team that stinks. that's the Saints sixth straight loss at home. it's going to be one long ass season. sadly, the loss also knocked me out of most of the suicide pools i was in. as i told my mother, all they did was basically cost me a chance to win 5 to 10 thousand dollars. speaking of fantasy football, my game picks absolutely sucked yesterday. if the Colts lose tonight i will have double digit losses for the first time in years. amazingly though, my 3 teams did actually pretty well. i've already won one and i'm leading in the other 2. but of course my opponents both have Andrew Luck tonight. i don't like my chances.

Manchester United fell behind to Southampton and i started to think, oh shit, this is going to be one long ass day. but then i was reminded that boy wonder, Anthony Martial, was here to save the day. his 2 goals and another from Juan Mata gave United a 3-2 win. that puts them in second place in the table. not bad for some shit team that no one believes in. they next play on Wednesday in the Capital One Cup.

i might have watched 5 minutes or so of the USA women destroying Haiti yesterday 8-0 in a soccer friendly. here are some of the goals:

i woke up this morning to the news that Dyshawn Pierre will not play basketball for Dayton in the fall semester. i had to go digging on the internet to see what was going on. as i sadly figured, it has to do with the possibility of some sexual misconduct. i figure if it was worse news than a he said she said type of thing, he would miss the entire season like 1 player did a few years back. so, if it is only 10 games he misses, good. but i'm not going to count the eggs before they hatch.

ok kids, time for some music:

and now some of this and that:

it's hard to imagine, but the New York Rangers play their first pre-season hockey game tonight. holy fuck, where does the time go?

on the DVR tonight will be a holy shit ton of things: The Voice, The Big Bang Theory, Gotham and Life in Pieces. while all that is on i'll be flipping between baseball, hockey, Monday Night Raw and Monday Night Football. good thing i don't need much sleep to operate these days.

that's all for me today kids. i hope everyone had a great weekend, at the very least, better than mine. i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. i have a feeling i will be knee deep in poems trying to figure out what i'm going to send where. i got the birds out of the way today. they were certainly happy to see me filling up the feeders.

hope this finds everyone enjoying some decent weather, some good tunes, and whatever else you need to get you through.

white noise

my mother got me a new fan for my room after the one i was using got controlled by apathy and decided to no longer rotate. the fan she got me creates such a white noise that i more or less can't hear shit when it is on high. i suppose that will come in handy at some point. i turned it down to the lowest setting last night when i slept and all i know is i have a line in my head of words that i need to get down on paper and i had a dream where someone famous confided in me they were going to kill their parents. i figure it must be a Sunday morning.

Ohio State played like all they needed to do yesterday was just roll out of bed and that was enough to win. if it wasn't for the defense, they would have easily lost that game yesterday. hopefully it serves as a wake up call to not only the players but the coaches as well. maybe the new offensive coordinator needs to be reminded, establish the run and passing becomes so much easier. it doesn't work the other way around. Ezekiel Elliott should not be a decoy. they won by the skin of their teeth, 20-13. they were favored by 34.5 points.

the New York Yankees got some great pitching yesterday and used 2 long balls to beat the Mets 5-0. thankfully, Boston rallied late to beat Toronto, so the lead in the division is back down to 3 1/2 games. hopefully that same scenario will happen today and the lead will get even smaller. the Yankees play tonight on ESPN. i doubt i will watch. between the NFL and the WWE, my plate if full tonight.

the college football yesterday was crazy, the late games especially. i was a little stunned when UCLA came back to beat BYU. and i was really stunned when Ole Miss beat Alabama. that will send the polls into a tizzy.

ROH last night was excellent. anytime the guys from NJPW are involved, it's going to be good.

i also recorded the Austin City Limits episode Foo Fighters did. i suppose i'll watch that one of these days.

time for some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

Manchester United plays Southapmton later this morning. hopefully the boys come away with the 3 points, but i know it won't be easy. at least Wayne Rooney will be back for the game.

the New Orleans Saints play Tampa Bay this afternoon. i hope to god New Orleans wins this game. if they can't beat Tampa, it's going to be a long ass season.

the WWE will put on Night of Champions tonight on the WWE Network. if they were smart, they would have Seth Rollins win both matches tonight against John Cena and Sting. then they would have a legit superstar to build the future around. of course, that won't happen as Cena isn't allowed to lose on 2 pay per views in a row. hopefully they will be smart enough to have Kevin Owens win the Intercontinental Championship tonight. i don't have high hopes for that one either. the match that i hope steals the show is The New Day vs. The Dudley Boyz. that should have a little of everything; comedy, violence, etc. all in all, i'm hoping for a good show tonight. if done correctly, it could be.

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, The Strain, Ray Donovan and Masters of Sex.

that's all for me today kids. i've got a long one in front of me, hopefully full of victory beers. i do hope your Saturday was good to you. may your Sunday be even better.

i'll be on here tomorrow after i figure out just how many new shows i can fit on the DVR for Monday night.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

old bones creaking down a hallway

before i even turned on the computer this morning, i could feel there was rain in the area. sure enough, first thing i see on the screen is a message from the weather channel saying thunderstorms in the area around 9 AM. those haven't happened yet, but i haven't seen the sun yet either. i figure as soon as i get done writing this i will be in my massage chair, settling in for a long day.

the listless New York Yankees lost last night 5-1. of course, Toronto beat Boston, so the Yankees are now 4 1/2 games out of first in the division. i'd love for them to avoid the wildcard so they didn't have to play the 1 game playoff, but i don't see that happening now. they face the Mets again this afternoon. the offense will have to decide to do something if they actually want to win this series. and it would help if the manager would pull his head out of his ass. just sayin'.

NJPW was excellent last night. Treehouse Masters was good as well. if i ever get enough fuck you money, i would love to retire to a treehouse on the Oregon coast. it won't ever happen, but a man can dream.

time for some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

and the man i wish was the next President of the United States of America:

Ohio State plays Northern Illinois this afternoon. hopefully it's another blowout early, with all parts of the team clicking.

tonight on the DVR will be ROH. i figure i will spend most of the day watching soccer from Europe and college football.

i will be on here early tomorrow morning as Manchester United plays right before the NFL games start. so that means i have to get all my fantasy football shit done either today or late tonight. fun times.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday lined up. enjoy what i hope is better weather in your neck of the woods. enjoy a stiff drink and a good meal. and whatever your passion may be, let it fucking flow today.
