and this is why i'm superstitious...

so, Dayton played like absolute shit last night in the first half. i was beyond frustrated, so when my stress level gets that high, i stop watching. the last thing i want is a fucking heart attack in my mid 40's. but, while eating dinner, watching wrestling, etc. i did check on the score every few minutes. at one point in the second half, Dayton was trailing Saint Louis by double figures. thankfully, Dayton caught fire from the 3 point line and eventually took the lead. the game went into overtime and Jalen Crutcher nailed a 3 with .1 seconds left in the game to win 78-76. i turned right over to the game when it ended. i wasn't going to be the reason this team lost. and i still won't be.

Real Time with Bill Maher was excellent last night.

Smackdown and 205 Live were both really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Austin City Limits and ROH.

i will probably watch a ton of college basketball today while icing my back in my massage chair.

i'm going to try to be on here tomorrow before Manchester United takes on Liverpool. if i'm not, here is the preview of the game:

today started off with freezing rain. enough ice that the satellite was going in and out all morning. it's now turned over to just rain with plenty of wind. the feels like temperature is supposed to get down to the single digits tonight. joy.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

you'd think the world is ending...

we have some winter weather coming our way. i know, holy shit. it is January after all. but, with these fucking idiots around here, you'd think it's the end of the world. the grocery store today was a fucking zoo. and of course, i have been in pain since i tried to go to sleep last night. good times.

i forgot to mention i wrote my first 2 poems of 2020 the other night. i'm hoping to have another batch of poems ready to go out on my birthday.

NXT UK was pretty good last night.

Young Sheldon was good last night.

The Unicorn was pretty funny last night.

Will & Grace was fucking hilarious last night.

Perfect Harmony was excellent last night.

the New York Rangers defeated the Islanders last night 3-2. the Rangers scored the winning goal in the last 30 seconds of the game. i fucking loved it.

i did listen to the latest episode of Notsam Wrestling late last night. you can find that by going here:

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and Real Time with Bill Maher. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight at Saint Louis. this is a pretty big game, seeing that the place will be a sell out tonight and Saint Louis needs to win if they really want a shot at making the NCAA tournament this year. i'm hoping Dayton can keep the momentum going. the game is on ESPN2 tonight.

i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i'm shooting for the morning, but i also am not sure when my sister is coming down, what will the weather be like tomorrow, etc. etc.

so yeah, i hope everyone has a great weekend.

sure, the sun is shining but that wind...

the winds of winter returned to the area today. this is why i love Ohio. wait 15 minutes and everything will fucking change and in a few days, you'll be fucking sick. i did some shopping today, most of it was shit i wanted to get done yesterday. of course, Meijer didn't have what i was looking for, so i got myself a birthday present, Deadpool Funko Pop. before that, i made a nice big deposit at the bank. mom gave me my birthday money early. i thanked her as most of that is going to go to the medical bill coming for my procedure done last November. i got some gas for the Highlander today and then went to get mom's pills from the pharmacy. that was only $500 fucking dollars worth of pills. the pharmacist nearly shit herself when she saw how much it cost. i think she was even more shocked when i was able to pay for it with a credit card. i love when people look at me and think i'm poor as shit. i'm poor, but i'm a smart fucker who knows how to play the credit card game.

NXT was pretty good last night.

AEW was very good last night.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Young Sheldon, The Unicorn, Will & Grace and Perfect Harmony. i'll watch NXT UK sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the New York Rangers play at the New York Islanders tonight. i'd love to see the Rangers win again against that team.

i should be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done. i guess my sister is coming down for the weekend to celebrate my birthday. and with winter coming back this weekend, this should be fun.

one of these days i'll rediscover happiness, i suppose...

today has been a gloomy one, that's for sure. i wanted to have all this shit done this morning, but of course life never works out the way i want it to. the pharmacy was supposed to have mom's pills ready this morning. of course, they didn't. i was going to pick those up, do some other shopping, be back home, get the blog done, etc. etc. instead, it's been a foggy day where my arthritis is fucking killing me.

the Dayton Flyers beat VCU last night, 79-65. at one point in the second half, Dayton went on a 22-0 run. that was a beautiful thing to watch, especially against a team full of assholes like VCU. that ends the Flyers losing streak against them. now, Dayton has a huge road game on Friday at Saint Louis.

Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time was excellent last night. i'm happy that Ken Jennings won.

WWE Backstage was pretty good last night.

so, my doctor's appointment yesterday truly was a fucking waste of my time. my liver numbers aren't back to where they should be yet. so, it's the same shit that could have been put in an email. better diet, lose some weight, don't drink as much, exercise, etc. etc. i'm supposed to have an ultrasound and see him again in 6 months or so, but they will mail me to schedule those because their books don't go out that far. fuck me, i thought it was 2020 already.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NXT and AEW.

Manchester United won today over Wolves 1-0 in the FA Cup. Juan Mata scored the only goal of the game. of course, Marcus Rashford got injured. hopefully, he's ready for the game against Liverpool on Sunday.

i have no fucking clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i am hoping the pharmacy is going to call soon so i can get that bit of shopping out of the fucking way. if not, my Friday is going to be one where i might as well get high as fuck before i attempt to do all this shit in one day. good times.

i've got some poems brewing after another run in with some fake motherfuckers last night. i love when you think you've met someone who seems pretty cool and into you and right when you let the wall down, you find out it's actually someone from Nigeria hoping to scam some money out of you. and people dare to wonder why there is so much fucking hatred inside of me.

until tomorrow kids. 6 days until i turn 44. will i make it? your guess is as good as mine.

happy for Joe...

i watched a good portion of the national championship game last night between LSU and Clemson. now, i do believe it would have been a better game if Ohio State would have been there, but i am happy for Joe Burrow winning the whole damn thing. i think it's pretty obvious the Bengals will take him with the number 1 pick in the NFL draft. LSU ended Clemson's winning streak, winning last night 42-25.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.

the New York Rangers defeated the Islanders last night, 6-2. that made me pretty damn happy.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time and WWE Backstage.

i'll be at the Dayton Flyers game tonight at home against VCU. the game is on CBS Sports Network at 8 PM. i'm hoping Dayton, now ranked #13 in the country, can end their 4 game losing streak to VCU tonight.

i have a doctor's appointment this afternoon. i believe its for my results from my upper g.i. scan. and i'm sure my liver numbers still aren't good, mostly because i refuse to stop drinking. i'm sure we'll probably go over my blood tests from last month as well.

when i get home from that, i'll have a light late lunch and then get the trash done. after that, i'll be off to the game. hopefully, i will get a much better parking spot tonight than i did this past weekend.

i'm going to try to be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays in the FA Cup. if not, here is a preview of the game:

response from Fourth and Sycamore

i heard back from Amanda at Fourth & Sycamore on my poetry submission from last November. my poems "like pollen on a sunny day", "oblivion finally upon me" and "two beautifully broken souls" have been accepted for publication. they will appear on the site on January 22, 2020.

does the sun exist anymore?

i haven't seen the sun in days. that's not a good thing in the winter for me, as my depression seems to really enjoy the doom and gloom. i got a ton of shit around the house done this weekend. we finally took down all the Christmas shit. i helped mom vacuum the whole house. that's always a reminder of how bad my bad back really is. 15 minutes of standing and i'm in pain. joy.

i did watch both NFL games yesterday. the Texans blew a 24-0 lead over the Chiefs to lose 51-31. the Packers beat the Seahawks 28-23 in the night game.

NXT UK Takeover: Blackpool II was fantastic yesterday.

Power was pretty good last night.

Ray Donovan was very good last night. the season finale is next week.

Shameless was really good last night.

both episodes of The Outsider were fucking amazing last night.

enjoy some music:

when the wind sounds like a train...

the wind has been fucking wicked around here the last couple of days. there was a radar indicated tornado last night north of us. ever since Memorial Day, this area has been on edge with any kind of storm. thankfully, the wind and rain had moved on by this morning. it was much cooler this morning as well. we ended up with around 1.6 inches of rain.

the New York Rangers lost last night in Saint Louis, 5-2.

i did watch most of the NFL playoff games last night. the 49ers defeated the Vikings, 27-10. and the Titans shocked the Ravens, 28-12. today, the Texans are at the Chiefs and the Seahawks are at the Packers.

ROH was pretty good last night.

Austin City Limits was very good last night.

enjoy some music:

i am looking forward to NXT UK Takeover:Blackpool II today. it should be good.

one sprained ankle away from being nearly perfect...

outside of the parking fiasco at the Dayton Flyers game today (probably my own fault, i should have left earlier) i got into the arena about 15 minutes before the tip off. i was really hoping Dayton wasn't looking past UMass today, seeing that they play VCU on Tuesday. thankfully, Dayton wasn't looking ahead. and other than Obi Toppin spraining his ankle in the second half (he was in a walking boot afterwards, i'm hoping just for precautionary reasons), Dayton played about as solid as they could and have all season. they defeated UMass 88-60. and given that VCU lost today, Tuesday night could be the night Dayton drops the hammer on the A10.

i didn't get to see any of the Manchester United game this morning. i saw some highlights when i got home. they won 4-0 over Norwich. i think that was exactly what all of us was hoping for today.

Smackdown and 205 Live were both pretty good last night.

the weather has been fucking crazy so far. we're well over an inch of rain so far and the wind is blowing it fucking sideways most of the time. joy. and i know what you're thinking, here's where i'm going to bitch about my arthritis, blah blah blah.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Austin City Limits and ROH.

i'll probably watch both NFL playoff games today. the Vikings and 49ers are playing as i'm typing this. Baltimore and Tennessee play this evening.

the New York Rangers play tonight at Saint Louis. The King is back in goal tonight. hopefully, the Rangers will keep on winning.

i will be on here tomorrow in the morning. i know i need to have the blog done before noon as that is when NXT UK Takeover: Blackpool II starts.

response from Horror Sleaze Trash

i heard back from AG at Horror Sleaze Trash on my recent poetry submission. my poems "whatever resembles prayer anymore" and "in slutty romance novels" have been accepted for publication.

one of those damn days...

when i heard it start raining last night around 3 in the morning, i knew today was going to be miserable. hell, i had to masturbate just to even attempt to fall asleep. i almost got 4 straight hours. almost. it stopped raining for a bit, of course, i was icing my back at that moment. the arthritis i have in my back tends to send the pain right down my spine. good times. it started to rain again right as i left for the grocery store today. fucking figures. thankfully, i got the groceries into the Highlander before it really started to fucking rain cats and dogs.

and just when i was going to start the blog today, the news hit about Neil Peart. i will admit i was never a huge fan of Rush growing up, but i knew damn well that Neil was one of the greatest drummers ever. and as a fan of music, this news hit me like a ton of bricks. rest in peace Neil, you have earned it.

Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time was excellent last night.

Young Sheldon was pretty funny last night.

The Unicorn was very good last night.

Will & Grace was fucking hilarious last night.

Perfect Harmony was excellent last night.

the New York Rangers won last night over New Jersey, 6-3. Tony DeAngelo had his first career hat trick (first for a Rangers defenseman since 1982) and tied Brian Leetch's team record with 5 points in the game. The Prince had 46 saves as well. when the team plays like this, it gives me some hope that in a few years, these kids will be brilliant and playing for a Cup.

Dayton plays UMass tomorrow. i was hoping mom was going to be able to go, but she's a little sick and the weather is going to be fucking crazy. i wanted her to go because Chris Wright is going into the UD Hall of Fame tomorrow. we've known Chris since he was in diapers. i played basketball with one of his older brothers. i'm really hoping Dayton gets the win tomorrow. mom will get to see the game at least, it's on NBCSN.

Manchester United plays tomorrow morning. i'd love to see them win but i have no damn clue who is even fucking healthy anymore.

hopefully, i'll get home before the football games start tomorrow.

i'm off to go ice down my back yet again and pretend i'm not in fucking pain.

well, i'm officially old now...

when i got home from the eye doctor, all my mother could do was laugh. i was more frustrated than anything. my eye doctor told me that i could keep my glasses the same as he couldn't change them the way they needed to be and make my vision closer way worse. so i told him fuck it, let's go ahead with the bifocals and get my eyes used to them now. i'm under no delusion my vision is going to get better as i get older. now comes the part where i wonder why the fuck did i get eye insurance. i picked out some new eyeglasses and sunglasses and they came up to a little under $800. fuck me. it's obvious all i'm paying for is the name on them. i should get them in about 2 weeks. i'll be 44 by then. joy.

i should have known today was going to be like this. i had 3 shits before 10 AM. the last one being right as i was getting myself wet in the shower. and people wonder why i often dream about dying.

some cold sunshine and chinese food...

where to begin? i suppose we pick this fucker up where i left it last night.

Manchester United got their asses handed to them yesterday by Manchester City, 3-1. from everything i have seen, it easily could have been much, much worse.

the New York Rangers won last night over Colorado, 5-3. i thought Igor played a good first game for his much hyped debut in the NHL. this is the 24 year old that was anointed years ago to replace The King. i'm not sure how long the Rangers can go with 3 goalies, but i don't expect The Prince to get sent down anytime soon.

Jeopardy! Greatest of All Time was excellent last night. i think i impressed myself with how many i got right. can't wait for the next episode tonight.

WWE Backstage was good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Jeopardy! Greatest of All Time, AEW and NXT.

so mom wanted some chinese food today. we have this pretty good place in town that we get food from. i had to go out to get my prescriptions anyway, so i told her call in the order and i will pick it up after i get my pills. of course, the line at the pharmacy was longer than i was expecting. i got back into town and i knew the food would be ready, probably for about 7 minutes or so now. i got inside and the total came up to a nickel more than mom gave me. i started to get a dollar out and the lady that runs the place told me no. i handed her the dollar and she gave it back to me. ok, i can take a hint.
i had some pork egg rolls and Crab Rangoon for lunch. mom usually gets some wanton soup and sesame chicken.

i was shocked this morning. they had the trash and recyclables picked up before 9:30. usually, everything isn't picked up until the afternoon.

i have to go get my eyes checked tomorrow morning. since i have vision insurance now, i will probably get some new glasses.

i'll be on here sometime after that i suppose.

that's all for now. until tomorrow kids.

just imagine what i could get done if i could actually sleep more than 4 hours a day...

let's start off today with a little poetry news. i sent out 32 poems this morning. 3 each to Red Eft Review and The Beatnik Cowboy; 5 each to Horror Sleaze Trash, Deuce Coupe, Synchronized Chaos (already accepted for publication) and Ink Pantry; 6 poems to Record Magazine. i also sent out queries to Rusty Truck and Fourth & Sycamore on poems i sent in the last quarter of 2019 that i haven't heard back on. so, when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.

mom's appointment with the doctor went well yesterday. she was a little shocked at how nice the new doctor's offices are. they spent $9 Million on the building, so it should be nice. after the appointment, we went to Waffle House for lunch. i listened to our waitress talk about all the guns she likes to shoot. the joys of living in the sticks.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be WWE Backstage and Jeopardy! Greatest of All Time.

i forgot that Manchester United was playing today. thank god i'm not watching as they are losing to Manchester City 3-0 in the first leg of the league cup semi-finals.

the New York Rangers have called up their goalie from the AHL. he's probably the best goalie they have in the organization at the moment. and the guy i do expect to eventually replace The King. so, i'll be pretty interested in the Rangers game tonight at home against Colorado.

Manchester United has scored to make it 3-1 now.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i think mom and i both will have pills to get at the grocery store and i think she wants to do a little shopping.

i have the trash to pickup here and next door and if i want to get that done before it gets dark, i basically have to start now.

so, that's all for me today kids.
