i think i might have finally fell asleep last night around 4 in the morning. i was up a little after 8. i have no clue how i'm going to do today on roughly 4 hours of sleep. my best guess is not well.
mom wasn't feeling good at all yesterday. her blood pressure was low and she just casually mentioned that low blood pressure is a sign of a stroke. needless to say, i've been fucking paranoid since. she hasn't shown any other signs, but i am watching her like a fucking hawk.
the New York Yankees won yesterday against Toronto 11-6. they go for the sweep this afternoon.
ROH was excellent last night.
Lynyrd Skynyrd: If I Leave Here Tomorrow was much better than i thought it was going to be last night.
NXT Takeover: Brooklyn 4 was spectacular last night. every match was either really good or fucking great. and as usual, the show was better than what the main roster will probably do tonight.

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Sharp Objects, Ballers, Insecure, Last Week Tonight, the season finale of The Affair, Who is America? and Our Cartoon President.
i will be watching WWE SummerSlam for most of the evening on WWE Network.
Manchester United plays in a few minutes at Brighton. hopefully they will get another victory.
i will probably be on here tomorrow after i send out some poems.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday is even better.

here's one of the biggest reasons why i love the muse. she gives me direct and honest advice at all times and when she is interested, she allows me to have amazing conversations. plus, anyone who says i write amazing poems will be loved by me forever. so, this Saturday morning has been much better than i was expecting.
i did do a little poetry work last night. i know where my next 13 poems are going. if i get a wild hair up my ass, they might go out this weekend.
the New York Yankees started the game off yesterday in a 4-0 hole. just fucking lovely. thankfully, the offense woke up and the Yankees got the lead before the rain came. the Yankees won 7-5 last night over Toronto. they play again this afternoon, they will be honoring the 1998 Yankees today. that was probably the best baseball team i have ever seen in my life.
the New Orleans Saints lost last night to Arizona, 20 -15. oh well, it's the preseason.
VICE was excellent last night.
NJPW was really good last night.
Major League Wrestling was good last night.
Real Time with Bill Maher was great last night.
Random Acts of Flyness was fucking brilliant last night.

i had a night full of nostalgia last night. i came across the Twitter account of my girlfriend from high school. i sent her an email and asked her how the fuck has she not aged at all in 24 years? i haven't got a reply yet. i then started going through some shit, hoping to find the panties a female fan sent me back in 2002. i eventually did, but i came across the letters and emails from my last girlfriend in 2003 first. talk about a mind fuck last night. i imagine there will be poems.
i hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday. take it easy and then take it again.

i woke up this morning with a whole damn poem on my lips right as my eyes opened. that told me i had probably been partly awake for at least 30 minutes or so. and of course, this morning was nothing but rain, thunder and lightning. 1.5 inches of rain. i did type up the poem during that time. yes, i am a glutton for punishment. i do love the poem. it's part dream, part reality of my fear of ever meeting the muse in person.
i believe it was black women in tight jeans day at the grocery store. good thing i shaved before i went i suppose. of course, i was still in enough pain that i didn't enjoy the stunning views as much as i should have.
the New York Yankees were trailing yesterday 3-1 going into the bottom of the ninth. the Yankees then loaded the bases with nobody out. other than a double play, they could have just made solid contact and tied the game with two outs. instead, a first pitch pop up and two strikeouts by swinging at pitches nowhere near the strike zone was how the game ended. i was just looking at the tv mumbling, did any of you fuckers understand a walk would have got a run in there? just fucking awful. so, Tampa won 3-1 and won the series. the Yankees are going to fuck around and either have to play the wild card game on the road or miss the fucking playoffs completely. they start a series tonight at home against Toronto.
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.
Big Brother went as i expected last night. Rockstar was voted out 5-1. of course, she didn't see it coming. her side of the house has been the dumbest group of players i have seen on Big Brother maybe ever. and i believe they won HOH again last night. and if all i'm seeing is correct, they want to get out one of their own this week. they might as well just hand the money over to Tyler or Brett or Angela at this point.
Snowfall was excellent last night.

i believe there is another round of storms that are supposed to roll through here tonight. i'm hoping that's not the case, but mother nature rarely fucking listens to me.
i will probably do a little poetry work tonight while watching the shows. i've had a few requests for poems, which is always a nice change of pace for me. instead of being a desperate whore, i'm a requested whore.
i hope everyone has a great weekend. i will probably be on here in the morning tomorrow, at least before the Yankees play in the early afternoon.

i heard back from Alan at Misfit Magazine on my poetry submission from earlier this month. my poems "in the country i was born in", "nostalgia is a sugar pill" and "a bottle of jack with my name on it" have been accepted for publication. Alan believes the issue will arrive late fall/early winter.
anyone who has followed or had the misfortune to read this blog for any length of time knows my love of music. i was raised on it from the womb. the music of Motown was certainly a staple in my upbringing. and Aretha Franklin is a voice that i certainly remember from those early years. so, with her passing this morning, i have dug out the old songs and have been listening away. i'm an old soul, that's for sure. rest in peace to the queen of soul. there will certainly never be another one. now, the crazy thing to think about is Elvis, Aretha and Babe Ruth all died on August 16th.
the New York Yankees played like shit last night and lost to Tampa 6-1. and of course they lost on a night they could have made up a game on Boston. hopefully, the Yankees win today to win the series.
NXT was pretty good last night. i'm really looking forward to NXT Takeover: Brooklyn 4 this Saturday. it should be amazing.
Lucha Underground was really good last night.
Big Brother was good last night. i can't believe Rockstar actually gave Tyler the correct answer, even as a mistake in the Veto competition. she should get sent to the jury tonight just on that alone.

i didn't sleep worth a fuck last night. between the rain and my arthritis, it was pointless. maybe 3 1/2 hours at best. i've had longer naps in my life. so god knows at some point today, i will crash. i think coffee is the only thing keeping me awake at the moment.
i just had to get up and walk. i went into the front room and of course it's raining outside. mark my words, sometime before i die, i will live in a desert. be it sahara, death valley, gobi, mojave, wherever, it might be my only chance to escape this fucking pain.
i'm not quite sure most people understand how lonely it gets here in my head. when you're constantly reliving your past, and can't seem to make any move forward with your future. it just sets off this snowball of events that always goes to the same place... always to the same damn question... will anyone really miss me when i die? and with each passing day, i'm getting really close to knowing that answer is no. and then comes the real decision to make. gun, rope or locked garage?
mom's eye appointment yesterday did not go well. she has macular degeneration in both eyes. near the end of this month, i think she either has an appointment or an outpatient surgery. i guess they go behind her fake lenses and use a laser to zap the blurriness. it sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. the next step would be transplants of her corneas from a cadaver and mom said she'd rather just go blind. so, i have that to look forward to.
it's been raining just enough here that the combination of my arthritis, my depression and my mood is a recipe for a fucking disaster.
mom's been smelling a skunk late at night the past 3 or 4 nights. and then she read online that sometimes that's a gas leak in your HVAC system. oh joy. so, she talked herself out of having our HVAC guy come out today. i looked at her like she's fucking crazy. i said well, too bad we aren't smokers because then we would really know. i asked what's the fucking point in waiting? do you want to see the house blow up and then go, well shit, i guess it was a gas leak. so, she made the call and they came out. i cleared away the vines from the air conditioner outside. the guy said there's no gas leak, but our igniter on our furnace is getting bad. he said he had the replacement in his truck and it would cost $120 to do it right then and there. mom said she would add it to the list. after the guy went out i said to mom, well, you could always wait until it fails in the middle of winter and i'm sure they will love coming out here to fix it. she then snapped back with her usual, well, why don't you say something. and then i snapped back with my usual, you want me to run things, you won't like your fucking life. she has the money, but wants to act concerned. you know, because there's $20,000 going for new windows and probably $6,000 for new landscaping, but $120 for a new igniter on the furnace is just too much at the moment.
and on top of all that, she wanted chinese food for lunch.
these are the days where i hope my sister truly enjoys that i passed on going to college so she could because it would be cruel to make mom get two jobs to put us both through college since dad gambled all the college money away. and i know my sister couldn't give two shits.
so, to combat all of this shit today, i decided to send some poems out. just a small submission, 3 poems to Small Town Rejects. when i hear back from them, i will pass along the verdict.
i had a woman try to scam $50 out of me today. i laughed. she sadly picked the wrong fucking day.
the New York Yankees got some great pitching last night and enough offense to defeat Tampa 4-1. hopefully they will win again tonight.
Smackdown was pretty good last night. i thought they did a good job setting up their matches for SummerSlam this Sunday.
205 Live was good last night as well.
The Jim Jefferies Show was hilarious last night.
Deadliest Catch was good last night.
Miz and Mrs. was excellent last night.

i might send out some more poems tomorrow. i do have a place in mind. of course, who the fuck knows where my head will be come tomorrow morning.
i'll be on here in the morning tomorrow since the Yankees play in the afternoon. mom has cancelled her appointment on Friday, so that clusterfuck with the grocery shopping has been avoided.
there's supposed to be storms overnight, so i know i won't sleep worth a fuck tonight. joy.

so i got in the shower late last night and decided to basically hurt myself. i scrubbed my skin hard enough that i knew any dead skin would be off. then, a little soap and very hot water... so, that's what a cleansing feels like. there's something brewing in me. i'm not sure if it's another book, the fucking movie i have been twiddling my thumbs about since i was 23... there's a creative fire that refuses to go out at the moment. it's like California is now inside me. these are the days where i simply just try to ride the fucking waves.
i got into a bit of a mood last night and sent out a ton of messages, hoping to do a better job of promoting my book. of course, i got a few replies this morning, all at once. it never fails.
the New York Yankees lost last night to the fucking Mets 8-5. for some damn reason, they just can't get over 30 games over .500. they are now 10 games behind in the division. oh well. they start a series tonight at home against Tampa.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night. i thought they did a good job setting up SummerSlam this Sunday. and i love that Dean Ambrose is back.
part 3 of Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story was infuriating last night. it shouldn't surprise me, but the amount of racism in this country is fucking disgusting. and as much as i hope for every generation to come along and be better, they aren't. it's fucking sad.

i have to take mom to her eye doctor this afternoon. of course, she just told me that the eye doctor is no longer covered by her insurance for her eyes. i'm not real sure why she's going to see him today other than her vision is fucking atrocious at the moment. i do plan on bringing my notebook with me. hopefully, i write a few poems. that's part of the reason i did the blog this morning. if i do write some poems, i'll need the afternoon to type.

when i saw the news about Aretha Franklin being gravely ill from cancer, my first thought was how celebrities tend to die in threes. then, i saw the news about Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart passing away at just 63 years old. probably one of my favorite wrestling heels from my youth and probably why i still wear my goatee like i do. Aretha isn't dead yet, as of me writing this, so who knows who the three will be.
i wrote 3 poems yesterday. i typed them up and really like them.
my left leg was still bothering me last night. this morning, i spilled hot coffee on it (not on purpose) and felt nothing. i'm wondering now how much of my leg is actually dead. good times.
the New York Yankees won yesterday against Texas, 7-2. they play a make up game tonight against the Mets at home. hopefully they can win tonight and get to 32 games over .500.
Big Brother was pretty good last night. of course, mom and i were watching in the living room and the television just died during the show. i believe the tv was just 10 years old. it almost reminded me of my youth when a picture tube would just go out in the old televisions. it still comes on, but no damn picture. joy. so, of course, mom broke out her consumer reports today to figure out the best television to buy. or, how i like to call it, paralysis by analysis.
Power was excellent last night.
Sharp Objects was really good last night.
Ballers was pretty funny last night.
Insecure was excellent last night. the muse was shocked that i actually watch this show. that made me laugh. if she actually paid attention to what i watch, she would realize i'm probably closer to being black than i am to being white.
Last Week Tonight was fucking hilarious, as usual.
The Affair was heartbreaking last night. the season finale next week should be another gut punch.
Who is America? was fucking ridiculous last night.
Our Cartoon President was hilarious last night.

i mailed the cd i made for the muse today at the post office. now, the true waiting game begins. i have no clue if she actually wrote a letter to me this weekend or not. i'm not going to ask her. it wouldn't do my ego any good for the answer to be shit, i forgot.
i'll be on here sometime tomorrow after i take mom to her eye doctor's appointment. i'm hoping she just needs a new prescription for her glasses. if it's more than that, then it will be time for surgery yet again. joy.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i am somewhat used to having bad dreams. i mean, i have probably died in my dreams a couple million times i suppose. but the dream last night was different. it felt more real, more likely to fucking happen. i would guess the dream was about 10 to 15 years in the future. i know it was a dream because i was successful and happy. the writing was actually making me money and i was with a beautiful woman (the muse). i was walking down the street, back to our little utopia in some tall building in some big city, where out of nowhere i was shot in the face and killed. and it happened just like that. no warning, no slow motion... i popped out of bed like what the fuck. i got online to see if the muse happened to be awake, as she would be the only one i would want to talk to at that point. of course, 4 in the morning, most people are fucking asleep. i got back in bed and tried to calm myself. that didn't work but i eventually did go back to sleep. i think i got 3 hours or so after that. i have had this long held belief, since childhood, that happiness was something that i wasn't supposed to experience in this life. i have tried for over 30 years to try to change that. i haven't been successful. the muse is one of the few humans on this planet that makes me think such change is possible. i tend to think the dream last night was my subconscious reminding me that no matter how much i think i can change, or if change is even possible, it will be taken away in a snap of the fingers.
i did finish the mix cd i made for the muse last night. i'm going to be really interested to see what her reaction to this will be.
the New York Yankees won yesterday 5-3 over Texas. the bullpen tried to give the game away but thankfully Miguel Andujar hit a clutch homer in the 7th that was the winning runs. the Yankees can win the series this afternoon.
i took a nap after i finished the blog yesterday. i actually woke up feeling somewhat refreshed. so, after the baseball game was over yesterday, i decided to go out to the store. i found what mom and i couldn't find at Meijer finally yesterday. plus, right before i left, mom told me that Kroger had called. that meant the pills i called in must be ready. so i went there after Meijer, got my pills and a couple other things. i made it back home before dinner. that made me feel at least productive.
ROH was excellent last night.

i'm not sure if we had any rain last night, but it certainly felt like we did. it's somewhat horrifying to know just how much pain i can feel yet alone how much i can withstand. i do believe we have some more rain coming as well.
if the New York Yankees would have got any pitching at all last night, they could have won. instead, they lost to Texas 12-7. it would be nice if the Yankees would win this afternoon. of course, there's rain in the forecast for them as well today.
Vice was pretty good last night.

i didn't know what to expect with the Manchester United game today. while i really like the Fred signing, i do think they needed to bring in a few more players. the board i guess said no. so this is going to be one of those seasons where the manager and the board are going to be constantly at odds. lovely. at least for the first game, it didn't really matter. United got goals from Pogba and Luke Shaw of all people. i'm so damn happy for Luke. that was his first goal in 104 games with the club. United beat Leicester City 2-1. 3 points in the bag, that's all that matters. now, hopefully they get some players healthy and get on a nice long winning streak to start the season.
the New York Yankees won again last night, 7-3 over Texas. Stanton hit the hardest home run i think i have ever seen in my life. Happ pitched well coming off the disabled list and the bullpen was good enough. hopefully they get their 5th win in a row tonight.
the New Orleans Saints came from behind last night to win at Jacksonville, 24-20.
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.
Big Brother was good last night. Bayleigh became the first member of the jury house. Hayleigh won the HOH, which should make for another interesting week, especially with the Hacker competition and Tyler still having his power he can use.
Snowfall was great last night. i certainly didn't see the little twist at the end coming.

the grocery store was a bit nuts today. i didn't get nearly as much sleep as i wanted to last night. i got a creative hair up my ass and decided to go through a ton of music last night to create the "perfect" mix cd for the muse. she contacted me late last night and told me she finally read my poem i wrote for her, all 3 pages of it. she read the card i sent her a few days later as well. she admitted she took so long because she was scared what would be inside. now, i wait with baited breath to see what her response will be. she promised she is going to write her letter this weekend. so, hopefully i won't have to deal with anxiety for weeks upon weeks waiting for a response.
mom had me go to two grocery stores today. i found everything that was on both lists. plus, she had me get my sister a gift for her upcoming birthday. that jacked up the price of everything. but, all things considered, i kept everything under $200.
i will probably be on here tomorrow in the morning.

i heard back from Neil at Dodging the Rain on my poetry submission from the other day. my poems "tasting blood", "around the holidays", "what if" and "none of them are winning so far" have been accepted for publication in the future.
we got to mom's appointment this afternoon 30 minutes early. we had to go to the post office first and mom thought there was going to be traffic. i'm old enough to know just let her have her way and deal with the outcome when it happens. we were out of that appointment before her actual appointment was scheduled. we decided to go to lunch after that. during lunch, mom was talking about not having any friends because my father was such a fucking embarrassment. i told her if you would have listened to me and call his bluff and divorce him when i was 8, just imagine where you would be now. she sighed and said yeah, you were right. i could see nothing but guilt on her face. i hate traveling down these roads with her as it will lead to nothing good. boy genius wins again. and i can tell mom does feel bad for the way my father treated me. it makes me laugh. where the fuck was that when he was doing it? hindsight does fucking nothing for me now.
the New York Yankees completed the sweep of the White Sox last night, 7-3. Stanton hit his first grand slam with the Yankees and Severino pitched his best game in a month to finally get his 15th win of the season. they start a series tonight at home against the Texas Rangers. hopefully, they will keep winning.
