up too early on a Sunday...

so, i went to bed last night before 3 AM. you know, trying to be a responsible human after all these years. i first saw the clock at 4:19. fuck me. i eventually got up to take a raging piss at 7:30. i know i didn't get 4 hours of sleep last night. joy. i've spent the morning making sure mom doesn't fall or do anything stupid. fun times.

the Yankees lost yesterday at Detroit, 4-0. hopefully, they will win the series tonight.

AEW Collision was ok last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Industry and Last Week Tonight.

i will probably watch some soccer today; maybe some golf and some NASCAR.

i think it is supposed to rain this afternoon, so i'm guessing i will be icing my back down for most of the afternoon.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope you have an even better Sunday.

i should be on here tomorrow in the afternoon most likely.

until then kids...

a big victory, a stunning loss and yet another fall...

so, i was going to start the blog off today one way, but considering my mother just fell again in her room, that plan is out the window. i'm not really sure how many fucking times i have to tell her to watch where she is going, have a clear path, etc. but, once a stubborn person, always a stubborn person. she's going to have some more nice bruises and i'm pretty sure her shower isn't going to feel real good. good times.

so, the Yankees won last night (finally) over Tampa Bay, 8-7, in 10 innings. the Yankees were down 4-0 at one point last night and fought their way back to 4-4. then, i figured as soon as Chapman heard he was going to be a closer again, he'd shit the bed. sure enough, he gave up 3 runs in the top of 10th. thankfully, Josh Donaldson hit a walk off grand slam in the bottom of the 10th to win the game. Yankees start a series tonight at home against Toronto.

team USA lost to the Czech Republic last night, 4-2, at the World Juniors. it was painfully obvious that the USA took the Czechs lightly and were outplayed for most of the game. if i have said it once, i have said it a million times, there is no fucking way i would want to make a living trying to coach anyone between the ages of 18-22. so, the semifinals are set. Canada will play Czech Republic and Sweden takes on Finland.

Big Brother was good last night. i have no clue who is going to get evicted tonight.

AEW Dynamite last night was great.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother and NJPW. i'll watch NXT UK sometime tonight on Peacock.

so, as of right now, mom has an appointment this afternoon at the foot doctor. i'm not going to be surprised if she ends up cancelling it if she doesn't feel good after this latest fall.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

i know i need to get some poetry work done so i can get some poems ready to submit this weekend most likely.

i need to go help mom out of the shower so that's all for me kids.

until tomorrow...

morning conversations with the muse

here's one of the biggest reasons why i love the muse. she gives me direct and honest advice at all times and when she is interested, she allows me to have amazing conversations. plus, anyone who says i write amazing poems will be loved by me forever. so, this Saturday morning has been much better than i was expecting.

i did do a little poetry work last night. i know where my next 13 poems are going. if i get a wild hair up my ass, they might go out this weekend.

the New York Yankees started the game off yesterday in a 4-0 hole. just fucking lovely. thankfully, the offense woke up and the Yankees got the lead before the rain came. the Yankees won 7-5 last night over Toronto. they play again this afternoon, they will be honoring the 1998 Yankees today. that was probably the best baseball team i have ever seen in my life.

the New Orleans Saints lost last night to Arizona, 20 -15. oh well, it's the preseason.

VICE was excellent last night.

NJPW was really good last night.

Major League Wrestling was good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was great last night.

Random Acts of Flyness was fucking brilliant last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be ROH and Lynyrd Skynyrd: If I Leave Here Tomorrow. i will be watching NXT Takeover: Brooklyn 4 for most of the evening.

i had a night full of nostalgia last night. i came across the Twitter account of my girlfriend from high school. i sent her an email and asked her how the fuck has she not aged at all in 24 years? i haven't got a reply yet. i then started going through some shit, hoping to find the panties a female fan sent me back in 2002. i eventually did, but i came across the letters and emails from my last girlfriend in 2003 first. talk about a mind fuck last night. i imagine there will be poems.

i hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday. take it easy and then take it again.

i just love failing forward

so i couldn't sleep last night. big surprise. i was on NoiseTrade and amazingly saw the new Dr. Dre album, Compton, on there. i figured it was a mistake, but it was a mistake i was going to take advantage of. and sure enough, i got the entire album for FREE. when i went there this afternoon and saw that the album was nowhere to be found, i simply smiled. life is all about the moments you take advantage of. i'm really happy that i was on the right side of "luck" this time around.

by the way, the album is really fucking good. if you enjoyed west coast "gangsta" rap back in the 90's, you will really enjoy this. it brought me right back to high school. a better memory than it probably should be. but, that's the joy of alcohol and drugs. to think that i did as much as i did and i still graduated with honors, it truly makes me think that most education is a fucking joke. i think i was just able to take tests well and could see through all the bullshit. what you needed to learn for a test and what you needed to learn for life. i'd like to think i won at that game as well.

a little music kids:

Manchester United didn't start out well today, giving up an own goal early in the game. that truly pissed me off as away goals in these competitions mean everything. but thankfully, today was the day that Memphis decided he was going to put on a fucking show. 2 amazing goals that reminded me of some other greats that wore that #7 jersey and a wonderful assist at the death for a very meaningful Fellaini goal. they will take that 3-1 lead to Club Brugge next week. i like their chances to get into the Champions League much better than when they were down 1-0. they next play this Saturday at home against Newcastle. and yes, i did enjoy the victory beer.

the New York Yankees got off to a great start last night. and then the starting pitcher took a liner to the head and the game entered bizzaro land. the Yankees bullpen had to get like 25 outs or something like that, since the game went into extra innings. in a bit of cruel karma, the guy from the Twins that hit the liner that hit the pitcher was the guy who bobbled the ball in the 10th that allowed the Yankees to win 8-7. by the way, he's a former Yankee so everyone on the internet was congratulating him for finally helping the Yankees win. they play again tonight.

Monday Night Raw was very good at times. like this:
or this:
but then you had this kind of shit as well:
i really wanted to like the entire show, but that wasn't even close to being possible. i'm really hoping the SummerSlam ppv this Sunday is going to be much better than just a longer episode of Monday Night Raw.

the Men in Blazers was hilarious last night. that set the night up for some tremendous comedy:

but i'm not done laughing, enjoy:

on the DVR tonight will be WWE Tough Enough, Total Divas, Hard Knocks, the season finale of Deadliest Catch and Tyrant.

that's all for me today as i have toilets to clean, a house to vacuum and trash to pick up. and i would like to have that all done before the Yankees start in 10 minutes or so. (that's not happening)

i hope everyone has a pulse and is enjoying some sunshine.

so this is what summer feels like

first off, let me thank whomever left the comments about my latest poems in Dead Snakes. that helped make my morning a tad bit more bearable.

summer has returned here today. temps in the upper 80's with humidity close to that number. i made the mistake of driving with my window open while driving by the farm at the nearest intersection out here. they were spreading shit in the field. take about a smell that burns the back of your throat forever. there's one thing i won't miss when we move.

one thing i will miss happened when i was doing the dishes today. out of nowhere came 18 wild turkeys moving from the corn to the soybeans. i know wherever we move, i most likely won't see something like that.

the Yankees had an offensive explosion yesterday, winning 4-2. 2 wins in a row, holy shit. they are off tonight before they play Houston tomorrow at home. hopefully they can get on a big winning streak to truly get back in the playoff race.

the shows last night were excellent. Big Brother made me laugh. i truly hate this Team America bullshit. and i do believe the producers are going to get their wish this Thursday; fireworks. Ray Donovan was really good, mostly because there was plenty of sex involved. The Strain was brilliant. truly fucking terrifying. Last Week Tonight was fucking hilarious. not sure what i'm going to do with it off for the next 2 weeks. Masters of Sex was good and kind of sad.

tonight i will be watching Monday Night Raw. there were 3 title changes last night at the PPV. that should make for an interesting show, especially given that one of those changes was John Cena losing his title. i'll watch just for that quite honestly.

got my sister's birthday gifts ordered today. i had to get her more than one thing as the book i ordered for her is caught up in Amazon's war with book publishers. i checked and saw i had enough reward points on my credit card to cover it all. so, i of course got a few things for myself.

my mom made it down to her meeting this morning right before it started. she said traffic was horrible. of course, i didn't know she actually made it down there until she called me this afternoon to tell me she was on her way home. i suppose it's going to be a late dinner tonight as i fully expect traffic to be horrible on the way back up here. good times.

that's pretty much all for me today. hope everyone had a great weekend.

peace and chicken grease my enemies...
