hell, even alcohol doesn't help me sleep anymore. i tried to freeze my right arm last night. that helped for maybe a couple hours. i'm probably going to have to break down and call the doctor if this keeps up into next week. joy.
the New York Yankees won last night over Toronto, 4-0. they will play again this afternoon.
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.
Los Espookys was really funny last night. the season finale is next week.
Shangri-La was excellent last night. Rick Rubin is probably one of my favorite humans, EVER.

around the same time tonight, AEW Fight for the Fallen and Evolve's 10th anniversary will be on. the plan for now is to watch AEW first and then i'll watch Evolve on WWE Network later tonight. more or less, i will probably watch something close to 10 hours of wrestling today. i can't imagine why i'm single.
Manchester United won 2-0 today in Australia.
i will probably be on here in the morning tomorrow.
i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

if i had to guess, i think the pinched nerve is either in my right shoulder or right elbow. most likely, somewhere between the two. while i'm typing, or pushing a grocery cart, my right arm has a tendency to start radiating pain. good times.
yet another night of shitty sleep. i was really hoping the CBD oil was going to help me get some more sleep. i went to bed at 3 AM and first saw the clock at 5 AM. joy. i eventually got out of bed a little after 8 AM.
the grocery store wasn't very crowded today, thank god. i was able to get all the shopping done and be home before 3 PM. of course, going to 3 different stores and getting gas and pills, i believe i kept everything under $175.
Holey Moley was hilarious last night.
Big Brother went as i expected last night. Nick is the new HOH. i was hoping someone from the other side of the house was going to win. i do love that Michie at least voted differently, hopefully that stirs some shit up.
Baskets was excellent last night.
Desus & Mero was great last night.

the New York Yankees start a series tonight at home against Toronto. hopefully they start the march to the playoffs with a victory.
i will probably be on here in the morning tomorrow. i know i want to get the blog done before the clusterfuck of sports begins. AEW, Evolve and NJPW all have shows on tomorrow. Manchester United is starting their pre-season with a match in Australia. and with the Yankees game beginning at 1 in the afternoon tomorrow, morning is probably my only option of when to write the blog.
i hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. we're supposed to get some rain this weekend and then the remnants of Barry will be making a visit to Ohio shortly after that.
so, until tomorrow kids. go enjoy your Friday night.

i'm the type of guy that usually will try his best to ignore the pain as much as possible. when my back is truly fucked up or when my nerves start firing at all times, that becomes a little impossible. i get the feeling tonight i will have to sleep in a bath of CBD oil, hoping i get more than 3 1/2 hours of sleep.
so i got a message from my doctor's office this morning. apparently, all my numbers look good but my liver enzymes are still elevated. of course, the results haven't been posted yet and they haven't told me what GI doctor they have referred me to. so, until i see some concrete shit, i'm not going to just take the word of a nurse.
part 2 of I Love You, Now Die was way more fascinating than part 1. it cemented 3 things in my mind... 1) no 14 year old should EVER be on Prozac. 2) Glee was an evil show masked as a musical. 3) the mentally ill will never get the help we need in this country.
NXT last night was really good.
Big Brother was good last night. i'm really liking the game Sam is playing so far. i'm pretty sure Kemi will be evicted tonight.
the season 3 premiere of Snowfall last night was excellent. this season looks like it is going to be great.

today has been one of those days i feel like i'm stuck in neutral. nerve pain is sort of making me delirious a bit. it's fun to type when it feels like your right arm is being held in a vice. and i just had lunch at 5 PM. these are the days where i wish i could do enough drugs that i would wake up a different person on Friday.
i did watch part 1 of I Love You, Now Die last night. watching some of that home footage was like a punch to the gut. part 2 should be rather interesting tonight as well.
Smackdown was great last night. and i love what they are doing with Kevin Owens.
205 Live was pretty good last night.
Deadliest Catch was crazy last night.
i did watch a little of the All-Star game last night. love that Tanaka got the win and Chapman got the save for the American League. hopefully, that's a sign for good things to come for the New York Yankees in the second half.

i heard back from AG at Horror Sleaze Trash on my recent poetry submission. my poems "the fewest amount of words possible", "from the god they prayed their entire lives to" and "this red death" have been accepted for publication.
i didn't sleep good last night. i couldn't find a position where my pinched nerve in my neck wasn't driving me crazy. so, i might have got 4 hours at best. i woke up this morning and had a plan. i wanted to get the poems out and i wanted to get my shit together so i could get my blood drawn. 10 hours now after waking up, and i pretty much have everything done, other than the trash and this blog. and no, they aren't the same.
i sent out 26 poems today; 5 each to Horror Sleaze Trash, Misfit Magazine, Academy of the Heart and Mind (already rejected) and Synchronized Chaos (already accepted for publication); 6 poems to Record Magazine. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.
i did get a shave and shower in today. i got my blood drawn, went and picked up pills for mom and then she wanted Taco Bell for lunch/dinner. now, i just need to get this done and get the trash picked up and i'm done for the night.
Monday Night Raw wasn't nearly as good last night as it was last week.
Divorce was pretty good last night.
Desus & Mero was hilarious last night. all the shit they haven't shown yet was on last night.
i did watch a good portion of Home Run Derby last night. i get the feeling everyone on earth knows who Vlad Jr. is now.

i heard back from Cristina at Synchronized Chaos on my poetry submission from this morning. my poems "ash wednesday", "the devastation left behind", "the medical records", "at the dump" and "california" have been accepted for publication in August.
the USWNT game against the Netherlands yesterday in the Women's World Cup final started off like i thought it would. the first half was pretty even and finished at 0-0. i wasn't surprised when the USA started off on the front foot in the second half and slowly imposed their will. that is what great teams do. i knew that the penalty given to the Netherlands was supposed to be a penalty before VAR told the official it was. when Rapinoe scored, i had a good feeling that was all they were going to need. when Rose Lavelle scored to make it 2-0, i knew it was all over then. i'm so happy for the women on this team. now, hopefully they win their case against U.S. Soccer and actually get equal pay.
the game finished right as the New York Yankees were starting yesterday. the Yankees lost 2-1. i didn't want them to enter the All-Star break on a losing streak, but they are still first in the division by 6 1/2 games. they start the second half with a nice long homestand, so hopefully they will get off to a great start on the road to the playoffs.
then, last night i watched the USMNT against Mexico in the final of the Gold Cup. i loved how the USA started, but of course, they weren't clinical in the final third and pissed chance after chance away. they should have been up 3-0 at halftime. it was 0-0. Mexico made the adjustments that a good coach does and surely enough, they dominated the USA in the second half. when Mexico scored to make it 1-0, i knew there was little chance the USA would come back. it doesn't help when your coach makes some of the dumbest fucking substitutions i have seen in a long time. i'm all for taking off a defender when trailing in a final. but, why the fuck do you replace him with another defender? holy fuck, i would fire him today for that alone.
that loss kept me up until 5 this morning. i must have replayed the game in my head 5 to 10 fucking times. i sadly have the feeling that the best player this country has ever produced (Christian Pulisic) is going to be wasted in yet another generation of USMNT that doesn't win shit.
Our Cartoon President was hilarious last night.
City on a Hill was really good last night.
Big Brother was good last night.
Big Little Lies was excellent last night.
Euphoria was great last night.

Sunday has finally arrived. this could end up being the biggest day in the history of U.S. Soccer. now, while i agree with it's so fucking stupid for FIFA to have scheduled 2 other finals on the same day as the Women's World Cup Final, it is what it is.
the USWNT takes on the Netherlands in the final of the Women's World Cup. i'm not cocky enough to think the USA is going to run away with this one. it should be a really tight game. that being said, i would love to see the women win easily.
the USMNT takes on Mexico this evening in the final of the Gold Cup. the men have closed the gap between the countries in this tournament a little, but i still think Mexico is the favorite. i would love to see the USA pull of the double today.
the New York Yankees lost yesterday to Tampa, 4-3. oh well. hopefully the Yankees win this afternoon to win the series. today is the final game before the All-Star break.
a storm hit right as the G1 Climax was starting last night, so i missed a little of the show. the matches were pretty good. the best match of the night for me was Kenta vs. Kota Ibushi. it was so good to see Kenta free from the shackles of the WWE.
the former muse told me that Bohemian Rhapsody was really good. i watched it last night and was very happy. Queen was always one of those bands that i loved growing up. i now see why all the interest in their music once again. and i can definitely see why Rami Malek won the Oscar.

the NBA basically broke the internet last night.
the New York Yankees came from behind last night to defeat Tampa, 8-4 in 11 innings. Aaron Judge hit 2 home runs in the game. Aaron Hicks hit a massive pinch hit home run that sent the game into extra innings. hopefully, the Yankees can win again later this afternoon.
Los Espookys was really good last night.

i am really looking forward to night 1 of the G1 Climax tonight. it will be the first time the annual NJPW event will be live on AXS TV and coming from the USA.
i did catch a little of Sweden defeating England 2-1 in the third place game of the Women's World Cup today.
as of right now, the plan for tomorrow is for me to get this blog done before the USWNT takes on the Netherlands in the Women's World Cup final. if that doesn't happen, i'll try to get the blog done after the match over, while the Yankees are finishing up their series in Tampa.

so it's July 5th and there's 7 closed checkout lanes at the grocery store... what's the worst that could happen? now, this is where looking like a potential serial killer plays into me having some luck. i watched a guy open up a lane at the grocery store, look directly at me and motioned me over. i chuckled, figuring he must have seen the look on my face as i was imagining all the dead bodies. i have been in pain for the last 2 days from my arthritis. it's the kind of ache that has me boiling in this fucking heat.
i had to go to two stores today. we were low on some laundry supplies after i did my laundry yesterday. between both stores i spent a little over $100 which i thought was really, really good for all the stuff i got.
the New York Yankees won yesterday at Tampa, 8-4 in 10 innings. when the Yankees blew a 3-1 lead in the 9th, i was not happy. but when they exploded in the 10th, that made for a better mood. hopefully, they will win again tonight.
the owner of our local NBC station is in a money war with DirecTV so there was no Macy's fireworks show to watch last night. i didn't really care but mom was a little pissy about it.
i get the feeling that the rest of today i'm going to be in my massage chair icing my back down.
i will probably be on here early tomorrow. between soccer and pro wrestling, this weekend is going to be pretty fucking busy.
i hope everyone has a great weekend. remember your sunscreen and be safe.

i'm not big on parades or fireworks anymore. i don't care for anyone who wears the flag as clothing. the premise of what the United States of America should actually be, where everyone is free and equal, is a noble yet naive belief. i hate that i can't do more to change this place for the better, but that's an argument about capitalism for another day. go enjoy your hot dogs, your fireworks, your endless amount of beer and a president that believes this holiday should be a tribute to him. part of me almost wishes those tanks would be loaded and... i don't trust free speech in this country anymore so i'll keep those joyous thoughts to myself.
the New York Yankees won last night over the Mets, 5-1. they start a four game series down in that dump in Tampa tonight. the Yankees have a 6 1/2 game lead over Tampa in the division.
Vice News Tonight was pretty good last night.
both episodes of The Wrestlers last night was excellent. i believe that's the end of the series.
Big Brother was pretty crazy last night. i guess for the first 4 weeks, the evicted house guests are going to still be living in the house. that should be interesting.
NXT was really good last night.
the USMNT defeated Jamaica 3-1 last night. they still haven't played a complete game yet in the Gold Cup. they will probably have to to defeat Mexico in the finals on Sunday.
Sunday will be an amazing day for U.S. Soccer. the women playing in the World Cup finals in the morning and then men playing in the Gold Cup finals in the evening. i know damn well which team has the better chance of winning.

we are now into this summer pattern of it getting warm every morning and then the afternoon is nothing but storms. joy.
this morning i was putting away the trash can next door when the neighbor to that house came out and talked to me. he asked me if i liked all these birds? i have like 4 bird feeders in the front yard. i told him it's mostly for my mother. he asked if she likes watching them. i said yes. he looks at me and says with a rather loud voice those birds nest in that tree over there and shit all over any of the cars i leave out in the driveway. inside my head, i was fucking laughing. out of my mouth came, oh yeah? i didn't bother to apologize or ask if he wanted me to do something about it. i simply walked away. when i told mom about it, i said i might get some bird food with some berries in it next time, make it a little more colorful for him. mind you, this old guy is a Republican and acts like he runs the cul-de-sac. that might be the best joy i have this week.
the rain today has started a pain in my neck that runs all the way down my spine. i really could use some high grade shit right now.
the New York Yankees lost last night to the Mets, 4-2. their home run streak ended at 31 games. oh well. hopefully they get back to winning tonight.
i turned on the Gold Cup last night right at the start of extra time. i felt bad for Haiti, as the penalty was a little harsh (still the right call though) and they hit the crossbar with like 2 minutes left in the game. Mexico won 1-0. they will advance to the finals to play the winner of Jamaica vs. USA tonight.
i really hope the USA plays better tonight or i don't think they will get past Jamaica.
the Netherlands defeated Sweden today 1-0 at the Women's World Cup. that game went to extra time as well. so the final on Sunday will be the Netherlands vs. USA. the third place game on Saturday will be Sweden vs. England.
Smackdown was pretty good last night but nowhere close to as good as Raw was. 205 Live was really good last night.
Songland was pretty good last night.
Deadliest Catch was excellent last night. the whole episode was about all the theories about what cause the Destination to sink two years ago.

i wanted to make sure i got everything done today so i could be home and watch the USA vs. England in the Women's World Cup semi-finals. i took a shower, made a deposit at the bank and took mom out shopping at the drug store. she wanted McDonald's for lunch for some reason. thankfully, we got back home in time for the game.
the USA defeated England 2-1 today to advance to the Women's World Cup finals. this game had a little bit of everything. goals, injuries, red card, plenty of yellow cards, a bullshit penalty call, a brilliant save on that penalty and then a masterclass on wasting time by the USA. and Alex Morgan became the first woman to score a goal on her birthday in the World Cup. and then, she did a brilliant, savage bit of trolling with her celebration.
Monday Night Raw was so much better last night and i know exactly why... Paul Heyman. i'm really hoping they simply hand him the keys and allow his creativity to fucking flow. you could tell last night how his vision is slowly creeping into the picture, finally.
the season premiere of Divorce last night was pretty good.

or how i like to call July 1st, happy free agency day. and thankfully, as a New York Rangers fan, i can actually be happy today. the Rangers signed the guy i desperately wanted them to sign, Artemi Panarin. that should be the jolt the offense really needs. and if their #1 pick this year is as good as i think he is, i fully expect the Rangers to make the playoffs this coming season. not bad for deciding to rebuild the team 1 1/2 years ago.
i was pleasantly pleased with what the Sacramento Kings did in free agency. they added some sensible depth to a young club that should be looking to take a leap forward next season.
at the Gold Cup last night, Jamaica defeated Panama 1-0 and the USA survived a listless performance and defeated Curacao 1-0.
so the semi-finals of the Gold Cup will be Haiti vs. Mexico on Tuesday and USA vs. Jamaica on Wednesday.
Sermon on the Mount was really good last night.
