what to do when you're at the kitchen table and you hear the tornado sirens going off...

so i was driving mom home from a doctor's appointment this afternoon and it was raining pretty hard. as we were listening to the radio, they broke in to say there was a tornado warning for where we live. now, i have been one of those guys that has been fascinated with weather since i was a child. so, i did what i thought was best; drive to where the tornado warning was. as we got closer, i looked for anything that looked like a funnel cloud. since i didn't see anything and mom wanted something for lunch, i went to Arby's. after we got the food, we headed home. by this time, the warning had been cancelled. so we sat down to eat lunch. as we were eating, the tornado sirens went off. we both sort of just looked at each other and then kept eating. i guess mom has the same attitude about death that i do. if it's my time, it's my time, fuck it. a couple hours later i started to see video from about a mile or two from here of a funnel cloud that took off a roof and destroyed a barn. that's the closest i've been to one in about a decade. so, just another average Monday.

the rain has been pretty constant since yesterday afternoon. it rained a little on the drive up to Columbus for the hockey game yesterday. but it must have rained for the entire game as my arthritis was fucking killing me. the game was pretty boring as Tampa was killing Columbus for most of it. i did enjoy the Columbus fans getting all over Tampa's goalie for diving, and on the refs for taking away a goal that should have counted. Tampa won 4-0.

after the game, we went out to eat. i wanted to see some of the Selection Sunday show, mostly to see where the Dayton Flyers would be going. we got a table in time to see most of the show. now, i had no clue at this point that the bracket had already been leaked online. so i was pretty nervous when Dayton was one of the last teams announced. Dayton got a 7 seed and plays against Syracuse in St. Louis on Friday. they beat Syracuse a couple of years ago on their way to the Elite 8, so i'm guessing Syracuse might want some revenge. if Dayton can get past them, they will most likely play Michigan State. fuck me. if they somehow pull off the miracle and reach the Sweet 16, i have no fucking clue how they keep Archie Miller as their coach. he's young and obviously a fucking miracle worker. this is the first time Dayton has made the tournament in 3 straight seasons since the late 60's.

it rained the entire drive home. mom wasn't feeling good at all. she told me that the hockey game was just too much for her anymore and she won't be getting those tickets again next year. this makes me wonder how she'll be when we're supposed to go to Cleveland to see the New York Yankees play in July.

i caught up on all the Sunday shows when we got back home. Vinyl was really good this week. Girls was very good, great ending. Togetherness was great once again. Shameless was brilliant as always. Billions had a perfect ending this week. that show is sneaky great. and Last Week Tonight was awesome as usual.

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, Gotham and an interview with Dan Patrick. i will be watching Monday Night Raw.

thankfully, i didn't watch much of the New York Rangers yesterday. they lost to Pittsburgh 5-3. talk about a wasted weekend.

i did see that Manchester United scored a late goal to get a 1-1 draw with West Ham. this means they have to play the game again, this time at West Ham. if United can somehow win that game (not likely), they will play Everton in the FA Cup semifinals.

a big thank you to Juan Pablo Montoya for winning yesterday so i could actually have a victory beer.

i have spent most of today filling out brackets at various websites for March Madness. most of them i have either North Carolina, Kansas or Michigan State winning it all. it would not surprise me at all if someone else wins it this season.

i did listen to the latest Sam & Cathy podcast today. brought back some memories of the farm:

i wasn't using that hour anyway

i made sure to set the clocks correctly before i went to bed last night. i figure it's not too big of a deal, that hour of sleep you supposedly lose i haven't used in 40 years of life.

i thought Saturday Night Live was pretty good last night. i did enjoy Ariana Grande getting the word shit by the censors.

WWE Roadblock was ok last night. the only thing that truly saved it from being a disappointment in my mind was the main event. Dean Ambrose vs. HHH was truly great. the false finishes and the excellent storytelling... you can tell this was a match between two guys that really love pro wrestling. the rest of the card had its moments, but plenty of fluff that was just pointless.

on the DVR tonight will be Vinyl, Girls, Togetherness, Last Week Tonight, Shameless and Billions.

Manchester United faces West Ham today in the FA Cup. this is one of the last chances United will have to get a title this season. i really hope they play with some urgency today.

the New York Rangers play Pittsburgh today in a game they really need to win. if they want to have home ice in the first round of the playoffs, they have to win these games. i'll hopefully get to see some of it at my sister's house.

mom and i are going up to Columbus to see the Blue Jackets take on Tampa Bay. i have a few players in the game on my fantasy hockey team. this is the last day of the regular season in fantasy hockey. i'll be the 4th seed in the playoffs. i'm pretty sure i'll be facing the guy who is going to finish 20 games ahead of me, so i'm going to have my work cut out for me.

i really hope the Dayton Flyers get a good seed today when the selection committee announces the pairings. i've seen the "experts" have them anywhere from a 6 to an 8 seed. i also hope there will be some good teams come to Dayton for the First Four. i'm really going to be interested to see how mom does with these games coming up. if she doesn't do well, i can't imagine us having sports tickets much longer.

the thunderstorms are supposed to start here shortly, so i think this will be all for me today. my arthritis is raging at the moment. can't wait to make that drive to Columbus in the rain. good times.

when the hate starts to run through your veins

part of me knows i should be used to this by now. part of me knows this is what i get for giving a shit. part of me knows i only get knocked down so god can laugh at me trying to get back up. part me of knows this is the price of wanting to live a passionate life.

the Dayton Flyers lost today to Saint Joe's 82-79. Dayton didn't shoot well enough to win this game. Dayton didn't play defense well enough to win this game. but overall, the horrific officiating in this game was what decided it. just god fucking awful. and the sad thing is, these assholes will probably be refs in the tournament games next week and probably ruin them as well. so many missed calls or just swallowing the whistle or even worse, thinking you had the right call and it's not even fucking close. but, like the wife of the coach of Dayton said on twitter, the refs did the same thing to us 2 years ago and we made the Elite 8. time to do it again.

and to cap off my shitty day, the New York Rangers pissed away 2 different leads and 40 fucking saves from The King to lose in OT to Detroit, 3-2. just a game of shitty puck luck and the wrong people on the ice at the wrong fucking times. yes, i'm talking about you Dan Boyle. please retire NOW. the Rangers play tomorrow against Pittsburgh. i don't think i'll get to see much of it. more on that later.

NJPW was excellent last night. Treehouse Masters was pretty cool. VICE was once again MUST SEE television.

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live.

before my day turned to shit, i watched ROH this afternoon. i really enjoyed the tag team gauntlet.

mom and i went to the grocery store this morning. i ran into one of my cousins. he's a bit younger than i am but we have always been cool with each other. i was hoping his wife was with him. she's one of the long list of crushes i've had in the past. i believe mom and i were in the store for well over 90 minutes. i guess we were getting low on shit.

i guess my sister is coming over tonight in a little bit.

i'm not sure when i will be on here tomorrow. chances are it might be early in the morning. we have to go to Columbus tomorrow for a Blue Jackets game. they are facing Tampa Bay, or how i refer to them, Rangers south. i'm hoping the game gets over in time for us to get somewhere to watch Selection Sunday.

so not only will i miss the Rangers game tomorrow, i'll also miss Manchester United in the FA Cup. god willing, both teams will win without me watching.

the rest of tonight will be getting ready to watch a special on WWE Network. Roadblock looks like it is going to be really good tonight. at least i hope it is.

now i just have to remember to put the clocks ahead tonight before i fall asleep.

if i'm not on here in the morning, i'll try to squeeze one in before all the Sunday night shows. or this could end up being the only post of the weekend.

i hope your Saturday has been better than mine.

the start of a happy weekend

when i woke up this morning, i actually took a shower before i really did anything today. i rarely start the day off like that. i'm more of a shower in the afternoon or 3 in the morning kind of guy. i just wanted to switch it up today and see if anything changed. it sort of worked.

the Dayton Flyers started off on fire today against Richmond. i believe at one point of the first half they were up 27-7. i had to leave at halftime to drive mom down to her physical therapy appointment. Dayton did exactly what i wanted them to do in the second half. keep the game comfortable enough that i wouldn't be stressed while sitting in the waiting room. Dayton coasted to a 69-54 victory. they will play Saint Joe's tomorrow afternoon in the semi-finals of the A10 tournament.

i wrote another 5 poems while in the waiting room today. i typed them up when we got back from a late lunch. i think they are pretty good.

The Big Bang Theory was really funny last night. Life in Pieces was pretty funny as well. Baskets was hilarious and had an ending that left you saying oh shit. such an excellent show.

i really enjoyed WWE Smackdown last night. i had to pinch myself to believe that i was actually watching what used to be known as Kevin Steen and El Generico on WWE television. i'm so, so fucking happy for those two guys. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will hopefully show the rest of the world just how great of a rivalry they have had over the years. plus, it's looking more likely that Chris Jericho is going to face AJ Styles at WrestleMania. i can live with that.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW, Treehouse Masters and VICE.

the rain finally stopped here and the sun came back. there was water standing in nearly every yard on our way down to mom's physical therapy appointment. i definitely don't miss those days on the farm. hearing the sump pump run every 2 minutes when we had more than a few hours of rain. we actually drove by the old farm today. as much as i miss the peace and solitude, i certainly don't miss all the work that had to be done out there.

not sure when i'll be on here tomorrow. i think we're going to try to go to the grocery store in the morning. that way we can get back before Dayton plays in the afternoon. so, if i'm not on here in the morning, i'll be on here sometime after the New York Rangers get done playing against Detroit. the Rangers got some good news today. The King is healthy again and ready to go. and Rick Nash is getting closer to coming back. just in time for the playoff push.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. as always, do what feels good and call if you need bail money.

the misery when it rains

it has rained here all day long. i have water standing in the front yard and squirrels eating birdseed they aren't supposed to like. these are the kind of days where i wish i could just curl up in bed and sleep for about a decade. sadly, that's not possible.

i did get some poems sent out today. i sent out 22 in total; 3 each to Napalm and Novocain, Dead Snakes, Pyrokinection and Mad Swirl. i sent 5 each to Over The Transom and Easy Street. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdict.

mom was at a meeting for most of the day and got a ride to the meeting with a friend so i had a vehicle. i got motivated enough to go to the bank to deposit a check. of course, the route i normally go to the bank was closed because of an accident. i should have known, since it was raining, there was going to be something fuck up along the way. i ended up behind a tanker truck that nearly wrecked in front of me. i would have loved to see how i would explain that one to mom.

after the bank i came home and had some lunch. i then got out the vacuum and did the whole house. i was hoping to have all this done before Manchester United played today.

i did my part, sadly, they didn't do theirs. i have no clue why LVG set up the team to just defend and possess today. it makes no fucking sense. of course, when i heard his comments yesterday that the fixture of Manchester United vs. Liverpool doesn't mean as much as it did back in the day, i should have known he was going to fuck this up somehow. even worse, he changes the formation at halftime, down 1-0, and puts Michael Carrick on in the center of a back 3. imagine that. so you know who had the main fuck up when Liverpool went up 2-0. fuck me. i have faith that they can somehow pull it out back home in the second leg of the Europa League, but i'm not going to hold my fucking breath. United next plays in the FA Cup against West Ham. i wouldn't be shocked if they're out of both by this time next week.

talk about a day going to complete shit.

The Voice was just a recap show and a little sneak peek into the battle rounds.

NXT was really good last night. the whole show was the 2 out of 3 falls match between Samoa Joe and Sami Zayn. top notch storytelling in that one.

Lucha Underground was fucking amazing once again. the main event was off the charts good. next week looks like it might even be better.

the Dayton Flyers will take on Richmond tomorrow at noon. i'm really hoping they can win this game and put themselves into the semi-finals of the A10 tournament. Richmond beat Fordham today 70-55.

i'll only get to see part of the game as i have to drive mom down to her physical therapy appointment. hopefully they will be winning so i won't be too stressed while listening in the car.

that's all for me today. i'm going to go get in my massage chair and see if i can get my back to relax a bit. arthritis has been whipping my ass all day long it seems. and not the kind of way i actually enjoy. enjoy that visual.

and then that's when you remember you have arthritis

i started to ache this afternoon. i wasn't sure why. it was a sunny day, in the mid 70's. i thought maybe i had been sitting at the computer too long. so i got up and walked around the house and sure enough, it was raining. figures, any day in Ohio that is 72 and sunny, just wait 15 minutes and it will change. it never fails. so much for my good mood.

the New York Rangers got out to a 3-0 lead last night at Buffalo and i was thrilled. they then did everything they could to piss away that lead. they held on to win 4-2, but they were certainly outplayed for the majority of the second half of that game. oh well. it's big victory and now they get a few days off to hopefully get healthy.

The Voice was much better last night, in my opinion. i really enjoyed the song choices and the performances.

Total Divas was the usual craziness last night.

enjoy some music kids:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and Lucha Underground. i'll be watching NXT on WWE Network.

i decided this morning that instead of going back and rethinking what poems i'm going to send where with the 5 i just wrote, i would just take those and pick out the best 3 and send them somewhere. i believe it was Allen Ginsberg that said "First Thought, Best Thought."

the plan is for me to spend tomorrow morning doing the poetry submissions and get them all done before Manchester United plays in the Europa League tomorrow. if that actually happens, i'll be on here after the game.

i listened to Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast this afternoon. yet another excellent one to listen to.

why i'm a loner

i knew there would be certain things i would hate when we moved next door to my uncle. mainly, it would be me coming up close with my past all too often. yesterday was one of those days. mom and i went over to help with the trash and shit because we knew that today was going to be a busy clusterfuck day. so, the cousin that molested me happened to be over at the same time. i haven't spoken any words to her in over 30 years and i never plan to ever speak to her again. i'm not exactly sure what the fuck mom thinks about that, nor do i really fucking care. so, as i was waiting around to see if mom would come outside so i could help her walk back to the house, i said fuck it, and went in. i figured if i made eye contact with my cousin, i might have to kill her. so i didn't. i instead watched the television and sort of chatted with my uncle. the back side of the circle has certainly caught up with him. hopefully remission does him well. mom finally got the hint and we left. it boggles my mind to this very day that mom has only told a few people and not any of them are the ones that should know what happened to me. of course, it's not like anything can be done about it now.

nothing really caught my ear on The Voice last night. hopefully tonight will be better.

Gotham was fucking great once again last night. i absolutely love how the show is going.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good for the most part last night. i really enjoyed the stare down between Bray Wyatt and HHH. that's way overdue in my eyes. the Chris Jericho heel turn went as expected. if it brings about Jericho vs. AJ Styles at WrestleMania, i'm all for it. plus, the return of Sami Zayn to attack Kevin Owens was great. i have watched those two fight for over a decade now. i'm not tired of it yet.

the New York Rangers play at Buffalo tonight. i really hope they get a win.

mom did really well in her physical therapy today, so i let her drive by herself into work. i haven't got a call from the cops yet, so i guess everything has gone well.

i did write another 5 poems today while in the waiting room. i typed those up when we got home and i really like a few of them. so that means i have to rethink what poems are going where now before i do my next round of submissions.

it got into the 70's today here. certainly didn't feel like early March.

i don't know when i'll be on here tomorrow. i think it is supposed to rain tomorrow, so i'll probably be in a shit mood.

hope this finds everyone doing well.

you ever wake up wishing for a lobotomy?

i woke up this morning with a headache straight from hell. the shitty thing was it went straight down into my neck, where my nerves are all fucked up. good times. it took probably 4 or 5 hours for the headache to go away. just the way i wanted to start a Monday.

the New York Rangers lost yesterday 6-4. they were down 3-0 in the blink of a fucking eye it seemed. sadly, they worked to get all the way back in the game, only to lose it late in the 3rd period to the fucking Islanders. the only positive from yesterday was Eric Staal finally scored for the Rangers. other than that, burn the fucking tape.

that loss put me into a pretty shitty mood. i was hoping for the Sunday night shows to lift me up. thankfully, they did.

Vinyl was pretty good. once again, the music was great. Girls was pretty fucking funny. Togetherness was great. it is probably the show with the closest thing to reality of what relationships are like. Shameless was awesome, as usual. Billions was really good this week, especially with another little plot twist. Last Week Tonight was once again fucking brilliant.

i did a little poetry work this morning. i think i have my next round of submissions planned. of course, if i happen to write some more before the end of the week, all of this is subject to change.

i did listen to Sam Roberts latest podcast this morning, his new one with Cathy Kelley. it's a really good listen, check it out.

i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. i think i will be mom's chauffeur most of the day. between meetings and physical therapy and then she somehow thinks she's also going to be able to work tomorrow (i doubt it)...  i get the feeling this is when i get to be the asshole and tell her no.

it's in the 60's here today. i figure i might as well go out and feed the birds.

response from Yellow Mama

i heard back from Cindy at Yellow Mama on my poetry submission from last month. my poems "under the caress of a gentle wind", "a harrowing place in time" and "a haggard old soul" have been accepted for publication. they will be in issue #57, coming out in August.

i wish that feeling could last forever

i'm a very superstitious person. it's not to the point where it controls every action of my day, but it does exist. i didn't put on the stuff i normally wear to the basketball games yesterday. 2 losses in a row at home was enough. i also changed up the music i listen to before the game. gone was the hard rock and metal and hello to EDM. in that process i happened to notice that they were opening the doors 30 minutes earlier than usual, which meant mom and i had to leave right then and there. thankfully, the music stations and the traffic lights all were in my favor. when "Thunderstruck" started to play, it was like i was in a zone or something. we made it down to the arena about 15 minutes faster than we normally do. i was very happy to see a couple hundred students outside waiting to get in.

the atmosphere at UD Arena last night was electric. the game, was not. two great defensive teams basically trading body shots all night long. the sorry ass officials didn't help matters. 3 guys calling 3 different games. i put most of the blame on the A10 conference. why assign shitty officials to what is basically your regular season championship game? the whole game felt like it was going to come down to the last possession. when Scoochie Smith tied the game at 55, i thought he left a little too much time on the clock. thankfully, VCU missed 2 shots before the buzzer and it was off to overtime.

thank god March is becoming the time of year where Scoochie puts on his cape. big shot after big shot in OT. sadly, VCU was hitting shots as well. neither team could hit free throws worth a shit in the game or overtime, so after VCU went 1 for 2 at the line, Dayton had the ball trailing by one with time running down. everyone in the building thought Scoochie would take the shot. insert Kyle Davis. he's probably my favorite player on this team because he plays defense and is not afraid to take a big fucking shot when he needs to. Kyle drove to the bucket and made an incredible layup (where was the fucking foul call) to give Dayton the lead. VCU got a timeout with 1.1 seconds left. i was fearing a backdoor play but they instead ran a double screen that got their best shooter a wide open three. thank god he airballed it and the celebration began. Dayton hasn't won a piece of a regular season title in well over a decade. way too fucking long. what i really loved was Archie Miller (i'm not sure how much longer he'll be the coach at Dayton, he's too good for us) had the boys cut down the net. that was a wonderful sight to see. now it's onto Brooklyn and hopefully winning the conference tournament as the #1 seed and getting the automatic bid into the big dance.

it was pretty late when we got to Waffle House. there was only two people when we got there. abut 20 minutes later, the place was packed. mom said i must be popular. i laughed, knowing that's not possible. it's the joy of living in a town where everything is closed by midnight.

after Waffle House, it was time to go home and enjoy a lovely victory beer. i did that while watching Saturday Night Live and ROH.

Saturday Night Live had a few moments but the show for the most part was forgettable.

ROH was pretty good, as usual. anytime i get to see Dalton Castle wrestle, i'm going to enjoy it.

enjoy some music kids:

on the DVR tonight will be Shameless, Billions, Vinyl, Girls, Togetherness and Last Week Tonight.

i got up today in a great mood. about 26 minutes into the Manchester United game, that all changed. i'm not exactly sure what the fuck Juan Mata was thinking. he already had one yellow card from a stupid play. 2 minutes later he does a completely reckless challenge that rightfully earned his second yellow. United played better actually once he was off the pitch. but, they eventually cracked in the second half and gave up a goal. today is one of those wasted fucking opportunities that normally keep you from reaching your goal. i guess we'll know in a few weeks if that is the case.

the New York Rangers play the fucking Islanders later today. hopefully they get a win. that would help change my mood.

that's pretty much all for me today kids. i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday is even better.

bring on the weekend

i somehow managed to get nearly 6 hours of sleep last night. i doubt it was the beer, so maybe my body just decided to quit for awhile. thankfully, it looks like i slept through the little rain and snow we got overnight. i'm hoping there's nothing else for today, other than a little sunshine.

the New York Rangers defeated Washington, the officials, and the entire NHL review system last night 3-2. i'm tired of bitching about officials, so i won't bother you with it. i just want to point out how the fuck do you give a goal when no one to my knowledge has seen the clear video evidence of the puck over the line. i know it sounds like whiny bitching when i say the NHL screws the Rangers more than any other team in the league, but sadly, it's a fucking fact. thankfully, Derek Stepan shoved it up the entire league's ass when he scored in the 3rd period to win the game 3-2. that's a win over the best team in the NHL, on the road, with your backup goalie in net. i enjoyed the fuck out of that victory beer last night.

Treehouse Masters was pretty cool last night. not sure if i'd want a camouflage treehouse, but to each their own.

the interview with Jim Ross last night was really good. i grew up on Gordon Solie, so he'll always be my voice of wrestling, but Jim Ross runs a close second. it was pretty cool hearing him call some NJPW matches last night.

VICE was awesome as usual. i'm not sure i'll ever look at meat in the same way again. i doubt i'll stop eating it, but i'll certainly eat less of it now. and god willing, i'll be dead by the time the planet is out of water.

the Dayton Flyers play VCU tonight at home. VCU will win the league outright if they win. Dayton will get a share of the league title if they win. it's the final home game of the season and seeing that they have lost the last two at home, i'm really hoping to see a victory tonight.

after the game i imagine mom and i will go out to eat at Waffle House, we haven't been there for a few weeks it seems.

i got a cd in the mail today from The Mad Poet, a metal band out of Seattle. they sort of mix metal music with classical opera type music, sort of something like Nightwish. if you are interested in getting some FREE music, check out themadpoet.net

i listened to Sam Roberts' Show podcast with Jim Norton last night. if you need a good laugh, seek it out.

i will probably be on here tomorrow sometime after the Manchester United game. hopefully i will have nothing but good news to share.

i did type up the poems i wrote yesterday. i do believe there are a few winners in this batch as well. i'll probably get another round of submissions ready before March Madness truly begins.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

who needs the sun anyway

these are the days where i know i'm surely taking a few hours off of the end of my life. burning the candle at both ends... either it runs out or you get burned. either way, dissatisfaction. welcome to life.

i believe it rained last night. that would explain why i could never find a comfortable spot in bed. good times. but, i woke up to a new album from Kendrick Lamar, so the day started off good.

while mom was in her physical therapy session today, i wrote another 7 poems. 4 days into March and i have written 15 poems. i'll gladly take that kind of production at anytime. i haven't had a chance to type them up yet. but, i do think i have a few winners in this batch. (fingers crossed)

afterwards, mom decided she wanted to go out to lunch. we hit up the sports bar we both like, which thankfully wasn't busy. we ate enough that i think dinner tonight is going to be just a sandwich.

then i convinced mom we needed to get gas and go to the grocery store. she wanted to do it tomorrow and i asked what time during the snow would you like to go to the store. we were able to fill up for under $20 and actually remembered everything we had written down on the grocery list that was still at home. good times.

Smackdown was really good last night. as i have stated before, i could watch Kevin Owens and Dean Ambrose fight each other for the next decade and never get tired of it. the triple threat divas match at WrestleMania could actually steal the show. if all 3 of the ladies get over the nerves of it being their first Mania each, watch out. the NXT matches that Charlotte, Becky and Sasha had together were totally fucking amazing.

Baskets was hilarious last night. Life in Pieces was great as well.

the New York Rangers fell asleep somehow after they took the lead last night. i happened to change the channel and the fuckers gave up 3 goals to Pittsburgh in a little over 2 minutes. fuck me. worse yet, The King had to leave the game with neck spasms. the Rangers ended up losing 4-1. they play tonight in Washington. the backup goalie is getting the start and they called up a goalie from Hartford to be his backup tonight. hopefully the neck spasms didn't lead to something else for The King. i'm not looking forward to the game tonight.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice, Treehouse Masters, NJPW and an interview with Jim Ross.

i'll probably spend a decent portion of tonight typing up the poems i wrote today. i figure the hockey game will be my background typing noise.

tomorrow night is senior night for the Dayton Flyers. they are playing VCU on the CBS Sports Network. VCU will be playing for the outright regular season title. if Dayton wins, there could be a 4 way tie for first place. there's also the chance that Dayton could be playing for the #1 seed in the A10 tournament as well tomorrow.

i'll be on here early tomorrow afternoon most likely.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. drink, fuck, write, paint, get out of the fucking box for a few hours at the very least.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

you ever hear a certain song on the radio...

so last night was a little weird. we got a phone call from next door saying that my uncle is now in remission. how the fuck can someone go from one day having cancer spread to the liver to being in remission in 24 hours? now, the one good thing about all of this, the doctor that told him he was in remission is the same doctor that was my stepfather's cancer doctor. so his word carries a little more weight than these other assholes in my book. so, i'm happy for my uncle, but i really hope no one thinks remission actually means cancer free.

it has been snowing here all day long. amazingly, i think we might have a 1/4 inch of accumulation. hopefully it stays that way.

NXT was really good last night. i am thrilled to see Austin Aries in NXT. too many people have no clue how fucking great he actually is. and the main event between Finn Balor and Neville was off the charts great.

Lucha Underground was amazing, as usual. the ladder match was about as violent as i have seen a ladder match be in years. plus, the awesome storytelling that comes with every episode was top notch once again.

on the DVR tonight will be Life in Pieces, WWE Smackdown and Baskets.

the New York Rangers play at Pittsburgh tonight. i did see that Rick Nash skated a little today in practice. he's about 2 weeks away from returning. hopefully the boys can continue to play well in his absence. tonight will be a strong test for them. hopefully i'll be enjoying a victory beer later tonight.

i've been swimming in nostalgia today in music. i happened to hear a song from The Replacements yesterday when i was driving and it has been stuck in my head ever since. one thing leads to another and i'm digging through all my music to find some songs from the 90's. you'll see it all in the music section below.

i took a long hot shower this afternoon, hoping that would help my arthritis some. i believe any relief i got is starting to wear off right now. good times.

i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. i think mom has a physical therapy appointment in the afternoon. so, i'll probably be on here in the early evening or so.

i hope this finds everyone figuring out what words of praise you want to say for the three poems i got published today.

from a mighty wind to the cold sunshine

when i happened to look outside last night and noticed both our trash can and recyclable bin both turned over, i believe the first word out of my mouth was fuck. it was windy as hell last night. nothing quite like going from the 50's to a windchill in the single digits. i went out and brought both up to the house. i put them back down at the street when i woke up this morning. when i took mom to her appointment, i believe we saw some of our recyclables about 5 doors down. good times.

when the Dayton Flyers were down by 11 last night with 11 minutes left in the game, i was not a happy camper. thankfully, Scoochie decided to take the game over and Dayton went on an incredible run to win the game 85-84. this was a game Dayton desperately needed to win. plus, it's always fun to ruin someone's senior night. that being said, Dayton's senior night comes up on Saturday against VCU. that could be for the league title.

The Muppets was really good last night. i love how the show got better each week as the season went along.

Total Divas was hilarious last night.

The Voice was pretty good as well last night. i enjoyed a few of the performances:

i wrote 8 poems today while in the waiting room of my mother's physical therapy session. i typed them up when we got back home and i do think i have a couple winners in the batch.

i got that done in time to watch Manchester United play today. they had a big opportunity to pull even with Manchester Shitty on points in the Premier League if they won and Shitty lost. well, amazingly, Liverpool took care of Shitty 3-0 and United got a glorious goal from Juan Mata to win 1-0. i'll gladly enjoy that victory beer later this evening.

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Lucha Underground. after i watch that i'll watch NXT on WWE Network.

i did listen to Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast today. it was once again excellent.

i now have to go figure out dinner. if it's what i usually do, i'll be going somewhere to pick something up. i believe physical therapy kicked mom's ass pretty good today.

i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. i believe we are supposed to get snow. so much for that one day of fucking spring.

i hope this finds everyone in a warm place (use your dirty imagination please)

in like a lion

this morning i could feel my bones start to ache. i didn't go to bed until 3 in the morning and it was around 9, so i figured i got enough sleep. the skies started to darken and sure enough, we had hail on the back porch. the rain has continued since then. to say i'm fucking miserable at the moment would be an understatement.

i got what i ordered from Amazon.com today. thankfully, the box was small enough to fit in the mail box. it would have been soaked if it was left outside, mostly because the fucks at the post office never ring the doorbell or knock on the door to let you know there's package outside. i can't imagine why they always lose money every year.

the New York Rangers beat Columbus last night 2-1. Derek Stepan scored a short handed goal late in the 3rd period to win it. The King got the night off so Antti Raanta stepped in and stopped 26 of 27 shots for the win. he probably could have had a shutout if Dan Girardi wasn't playing for both teams last night. i thought Eric Staal looked decent in his Rangers debut. i think once he gets to know the guys he'll do fine. the Rangers have a huge back to back coming up this week against Pittsburgh and Washington. they might as well be playoff games.

The Voice was pretty good last night. a few of the women last night were really good. i was shocked to see that one of them is a woman i follow on Google+. small fucking world at times. i was very happy for Mary Sarah.

Gotham was fucking amazing last night. it is easily one of my favorite shows in the last decade or so.

The Men in Blazers was pretty funny last night. i only watch it on the weeks that Manchester United win, so it hasn't been as often as i certainly would have liked.

Monday Night Raw had a few good moments, a few really good moments and then a couple hours of just pure fucking nonsense. i'll be very interested to see what Dean Ambrose does against HHH later in the month, though i'm probably sure it's to set up Roman Reigns to go over. STUPID. and i guess they are going the way i thought with The New Day against Y2AJ. The Undertaker segment left a ton to be desired last night. i give Vince credit though, he plays an asshole father better than anyone.

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, the season finale of The Muppets and Total Divas.

the Dayton Flyers play at Richmond tonight. they haven't won there since 2004 i believe. it's Richmond's senior night, so i hope the boys are ready to play spoiler. plus, they really need a fucking win, just to get some good mojo going.

i probably won't get much sleep tonight as i have to drive mom to her physical therapy appointment in the morning. i can just imagine, if it's still raining, the clusterfuck it's going to be driving south. hopefully we miss most of the morning rush hour bullshit.

i hope this finds everyone with better weather than i have here. i now have trash to go pick up. good times.
