Happy St. Patrick's Day
i hope everyone is having a great St. Patrick's Day. today has been completely fucking draining for me, and i love it. so, you can imagine what happened this morning.
Manchester United defeated Liverpool, 4-3 in extra time to advance to the semifinals of the FA Cup. they will play Coventry in the semis. the other semifinal will be Manchester City against Chelsea. this game was completely fucking nuts. United went up 1-0 but was losing 2-1 at halftime. they scored in the 87th minute to make it 2-2. Rashford had incredible miss that would have won the game in regulation. Liverpool scored in the first half of extra time to go up 3-2. Rashford scored in the 112th minute to tie it at 3. then, Amad Diallo scored at the death to make it 4-3. this is the United team i have been dying to see all season. they played with heart, passion, determination, everything they have lacked all damn season. an instant fucking classic.

Happy St. Patrick's Day
we had a nice little ice storm last night. i suppose it was somewhat appropriate considering what happened last night in the NCAA tournament.
when i saw the score midway through the second half and saw that UMBC was defeating Virginia by double digits, i thought it was a mistake. i then turned to the game and holy shit. i think i watched the last 12 minutes of the game. i even had my mother turn it on in her room to watch. what i never thought i would see in my lifetime was finally happening. a 16 seed was going to beat a 1 seed. and not just any number 1 seed, but the overall number 1 seed in the entire tournament. when that final buzzer hit, i still couldn't believe it. but i am very happy to be a witness to it. this changes college basketball forever.
i went 10-6 yesterday in the tournament. i believe i was 23-9 in the first round, which is about my average anymore. i still have 12 of my sweet 16 available. usually, if i can get at least 10 of the 16 right, i'm pretty happy. anything less than that and i might as well just shred the fucking thing right there.
Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.
NJPW was excellent last night.
High Maintenance was fucking hilarious last night.
Real Time with Bill Maher was great last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live and ROH.
the New York Rangers play tonight in St. Louis. i'm not counting on the Rangers to keep their winning steak going, but with the way they are playing lately, anything is fucking possible.
most of my day today will be watching some college basketball and doing my laundry. and hopefully watching Manchester United advance in the FA Cup.
i hope everyone has a great St. Patrick's Day. don't drink and drive, unless you're really good at it. and trust me, if you drink enough, everyone is beautiful.

these Irish eyes have seen so much over the years...
thankfully, the ice storm had already passed by this morning by the time i had to take mom to the outpatient center. we were there forever it felt like. it was only 4 hours or so in the end. i think mom is slowly coming to terms with having this operation on her hip. hopefully she's fully there by the time the surgery rolls around in early April.
i heard the news a couple days ago but today it finally hit me about the death of my friend Kerry Shank. so many memories of drinking and having too much fun came flooding back to me. that's probably another reason why i'm not drinking right now, i doubt i would stop.

on the DVR tonight will be VICE, NJPW and Real Time with Bill Maher.
the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Florida. i wouldn't mind if they happened to win tonight.
Manchester United will be playing against Anderlecht in the next round of the Europa League. that's good news as Belgium is much easier travel for them than having to go to some of the other countries still involved.
most of my attention tonight will be on the Dayton Flyers game against Wichita State. Dayton is the better seed but an underdog. hopefully they use that to fuel them tonight. plus, they have plenty of big game experience on their side as well. if they can somehow pull off the win tonight, i'll be happier than a pig in shit.
i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. i believe my sister is coming down and i also need to go to the grocery store. so, let's just say i'll try to get a blog done before the day is completely over.
i hope everyone has a great weekend. i hope the green beer didn't make you sick or fuck something you'd regret.
