a windy, warm day...

it was damn near 60 degrees today. if it was just that and sunny, today would have been perfect. but, the wind had something different in mind. i had to take mom to the hospital today to do some test for her appointment next week with her doctor. i took the highway and i just love when it is so fucking windy the big trucks have a hard time staying in their lanes. joy.

the New York Rangers won last night at home over Tampa Bay, 3-1.

a wasted day...

so, i got up early this morning to make sure i was up when the contractor was supposed to be here. i got mom up early as well. the contractor called and said he would be late, that he had to stop at the office, etc. and then we got a call around noon with him saying he wouldn't make it out today and he will see us on Monday. so yeah, today as just felt like a fucking waste.

tossing and turning in the single digits...

i think it got down to around 4 degrees last night. i tossed and turned all night, never quite able to find a good position. good times.

Celebrity Big Brother was pretty good last night. it is quite obvious they only did the show to have programming to go against the Olympics.

Monday Night Raw was good last night.

i did watch some of the USA vs. Canada last night in women's hockey. Canada won 4-2.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NXT.

so, i guess mom fell this morning in the bathroom. i must have been in the kitchen making my breakfast, because i didn't hear anything. she told me about it while i was making her egg for her breakfast. she has this obsession that she has to get naked to take her weight. i asked her, wouldn't it be safer to not do that? she rebuffed that notion and i, like the smart ass i am, then said... if the mental boost of being a few pounds lighter at best is more important than the possibility of slipping, hitting your head on toilet and dying, then just keep doing what you are doing. i can't imagine why i get frustrated...

Manchester United plays this afternoon at Burnley. i'm hoping United will win, but i won't be shocked if they struggle once again and probably fucking blow it, again.

i guess i will be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done. i know the Dayton Flyers play tomorrow night at home. i would love to go to the game but with mom's health and balance being shitty here lately, that won't be happening.

i need to go get the mail and work on the driveway a little bit more. i'm trying to get a clear path to get the trash down to the street without me having to do it on ice skates.

a cold winter wind...

we had this spinning chime up by our garage. i say had, because the fucking wind brought it down today. when i woke up this morning, the feels like temperature was 8 degrees. good times.

i did send out some poems today. 5 to Horror Sleaze Trash (already heard back from them); 4 to Dumpster Fire Press and 1 poem (broken into 5 parts) to Synchronized Chaos. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.

the New York Rangers won last night over Washington, 4-2. funny, they get rid of one defenseman and another one gets hurt and now suddenly, the defense is playing better. imagine that.

the satellite was out for most of the night. i watched the hockey game on my phone. right around 10:30 last night, the weather cleared enough for the satellite to start working again.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

the season finale of Cari & Jemele Won't Stick to Sports was excellent last night.

Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.

i found last night's episode of The Unicorn online this afternoon. it was good.

Good Friday...

it got down into the 30's last night. good thing i turned the furnace back on in the afternoon or the damn thing would have run all night. i'm hoping the damn wind will die down here soon. that makes it feel even colder than what it is. so much for that early Spring.

here is your video for this day of National Poetry Month:

Total Bellas was good last night.

both episodes of Shelter in Place with Shane Smith were excellent last night. you can watch the first episode by going here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5OAjnveyJo&t=33s

mom had me go out and get Taco Bell for lunch today. she has talked about her sense of smell leaving the last few days. i asked her if she could actually taste the food. i'm hoping she is telling me the truth when she said yes as i know damn well the two likely signs of COVID-19 are losing your sense of smell and taste.

she's been on a cleaning rampage today. and of course, i will have to listen to her complain about being in pain all tonight. joy.

i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. if you are religious, don't go to church and hope your church is smart enough to know how to livestream the service. if you aren't religious, hope you enjoy the candy.

stay healthy everyone...

when the dreams become weird and bitter...

oh, how i love waking up to missed calls from the muse and rejected poems. just how i wanted to start off my Sunday morning.

i heard back from Gordon at Brief Wilderness on the poems i sent back in January and then again in April. he apologized for taking so long but decided to pass on the poems. so, there's another 5 for the unpublished file. i'm tempted to keep these together and get them published as a group somewhere. more on that in August.

i did type up the 5 poems i wrote the other day last night. i really like a few of them. i'm sure they will be a part of the first submissions of August as well.

the New York Yankees split the doubleheader with the Royals yesterday. they lost the first game 10-5. just too many fucking mistakes and yet another shitty start from their ace, Luis Severino. in the second game, the Yankees came from behind late to win 5-4. they will go for the series win this afternoon with their new pitcher J.A. Happ getting the start. the Yankees made another trade last night after the second game of the doubleheader. they traded the human white flag and a minor league pitcher to the Cardinals for a minor league first baseman and more importantly, international pool bonus money. the rumor is they are in the process of signing the #9 international prospect and the money from the Cardinals will go towards that. once again, good business.

Manchester United lost to Liverpool yesterday 4-1. i won't put much stock into the game since most of United's players are still on their World Cup break. that being said, boy it's going to be tough to watch this team early in the season. good god.

ROH was really good last night.

i felt bad for mom yesterday at Meijer. one, she was pooped by the time we got in the store from the parking lot. two, her vision is going bad it seems. she had a hard time focusing on signs and labels. i don't know if she needs new glasses or if her cornea has gotten worse. we did find most of what we were looking for. i think i'll have to go to Menard's for the shower spray refill though.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, the season finale of Total Bellas, Power, Sharp Objects, Succession, Last Week Tonight, The Affair, Who is America? and Our Cartoon President.

i'll probably be on here in the afternoon tomorrow.

i hope everyone had a good Saturday. i hope your Sunday is even better.

let the drinking begin

so i woke up this morning and was going to go out and get the paper. i opened the front door and holy shit, it fucking snowed overnight. and of course it had to be on the morning when i knew i had to go 4 or 5 different places. good times.

for National Poetry Month, i give you:

the New York Yankees lost yesterday 4-0. thankfully, they made up for it today winning 8-4. they can win the series with Detroit tomorrow night on ESPN.

much to my amazement, the New York Rangers defeated Detroit today 3-2. now, i wouldn't put it past the Islanders to lose both games so the Rangers have to face Pittsburgh in the playoffs. if the Islanders get 3 points or more out of their last 2 games, the Rangers will face Florida in the playoffs. Detroit backed into the playoffs because of that dumpster fire of a team up in Boston. hard to believe, but the playoffs are just a few days away.

mom and i decided not to go to the game up in Columbus tonight. between my arthritis and her exhaustion, i knew we would be miserable up there. plus, my sister is sick. thankfully she had a friend that could use the tickets.

mom and i took 5 boxes of shit to get shredded today. that gets 5 boxes out of the garage. eventually we might even have a second vehicle to put in there. after that, i had to take her to work. after that we got some lunch and then went to the grocery store. i might have a few poems about that, although they will probably be about holding a piss in the entire time in the store. good times.

NJPW was excellent last night. i'm really enjoying listening to Jim Ross call pro wrestling again.

VICE was very disturbing last night. the segment about women's rights in Afghanistan was very informing as much as it was maddening. i wonder what the world would be like if the Quran had a New Testament? it's painfully obvious that the only way the Middle East will ever change is if the youth decide to overthrow the governments and the religious zealots running things. and then comes the never ending task of changing the made up minds of millions of people. imagine a world where everyone was equal. talk about a fucking dream.

and on that cheery note, enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live and ROH.

i really enjoyed listening to the interview on Sam Roberts' Show with Jamey Jasta,
you can listen to it here: http://notsam.com/srshow/2016/4/8/srshow-jamey-jasta

well, that's all for me today. i'll be on here sometime after Manchester United plays tomorrow. hopefully i'll be in a good mood. now, it's time to go enjoy a couple victory beers.

i hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday night. call if you need bail money.

ladies and gentlemen, snow

i woke up at 4 in the morning and looked at my clock and said fuck you. thankfully, i was able to fall back to sleep and woke up again sometime around 9. when i sat up, my lower back started to scream in agony. i figured it had to be snowing. sure enough, it was. now i think it's only an inch or so. but with winds around 40 mph, things could get a little interesting out there. i figure once i get done with this, i'll be the lucky one to go out and get the newspaper. good times.

i did watch most of the playoff games last night in the NFL. it's scary to think the Bengals haven't won a playoff game since i was a freshman in high school. after watching them piss away the lead last night in the final minutes, it's easy to believe they may never win one again. as soon as they took the lead, i looked over at my mother and said, now watch them find a way to fuck this up. sure enough. i did pick both games correct. i've got Seattle and Washington today.

Austin City Limits was great last night. i really enjoy when a rapper plays with a live band. it makes the music much more dynamic. and quite honestly, i think Kendrick Lamar is one of the best in the world doing it at this moment.

ROH was spectacular last night. the main event alone was worth staying up for.
and i couldn't be happier with who won that main event either.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Shameless. i am so happy that a new season of one of my favorite shows is back. i will spend most of the night watching the Golden Globes, mostly because of Ricky Gervais.

that's pretty much all for me kids. i have some laundry i need to do. hopefully i can do that without the washer dying. and i've got a few random words flying in my head that probably need to find the page before too long. that also means i need to sit down and figure out where my next batch of submissions are going. good times.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday is even better. call if you need bail money. i'm off to go buy lottery tickets.

sometimes the mood controls you

i was watching the New York Rangers piss away chance after chance last night and decided to just turn on some music. but instead of my usual mix of metal, rock, death metal and more rock, i decided to go back to my high school roots and play some R&B, hip hop, techno, etc. if i would have had a joint, it would have almost been a perfect evening. that is, if the Rangers would have ever scored.

the Rangers had 40 shots on goal last night. i have Florida's goalie on my hockey fantasy team, but decided not to use him as i didn't want to watch my Rangers lose but feel good that my fantasy team did well. my mistake. it's not that the shutout (3-0) would have helped me in fantasy hockey, but it certainly wouldn't have hurt. the Rangers just can't seem to put it all together game after game after game anymore. i think it might be time for a trade just for the sake of making a trade. wake the players up so to speak. who knows, but this is quickly becoming a season of what could have been.

thankfully, Austin City Limits was fucking amazing last night. i absolutely love Alabama Shakes. it's definitely one of the bands that makes me believe that great music still exists in the world. i've been torn on Vintage Trouble over the years. after watching them last night, i'm sold. i went on NoiseTrade and got the sampler and will now be a fan. this will hopefully be an episode that stays on my DVR for years.

ROH was excellent last night as well. it was really good to see Stevie Richards wrestling again. plus, they almost sold me on getting the NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 10 tonight. but, i really don't feel like sitting at the computer at 3 in the morning watching wrestling. plus, i would probably prefer to listen in Japanese. but lord knows i will check the results when i wake up and probably be pissed that i missed the "match of the year" between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

the New Orleans Saints finish their season off today at Atlanta. if they win, they will avoid a 10 loss season. the game doesn't mean anything other than pride today. so the Saints will probably lose.

not sure which games i'll be watching today. most likely the Jets as mom will be most interested in that one.

i think i may do some writing tonight or maybe some more work for my next YouTube video. there's really nothing i'm planning on watching tonight, so i won't have any distractions other than a football game.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday night. hopefully your Sunday will be even better. there's a chance it might snow here tomorrow, so look out for some pictures possibly. i know i really should take one of the Christmas lights we have up before i'm ordered to take them down. i'm more of the fucker that would just leave them up all year. you know, the asshole with a Christmas tree on his front porch.
