i just love having a bad back...

so, my mother last night asked me to do the dishes. i wish she would have asked me sooner, as there was a couple days worth of dishes to do. but, i did them, knowing damn well, no good deed ever goes unpunished. my back has been killing me for the last 16 hours or so. i have stretched, iced, slept in the massage chair, etc. it still feels like shit. so yeah, i won't be going to the basketball game tonight. joy.

mom's doctor's appointment went well yesterday. the doctor believes mom needs a life alert system now. so, that will be fun to figure out the best one of those to have. the appointment was long as hell, so i missed all of the Manchester United game yesterday.

Manchester United defeated Aston Villa, 1-0, to advance in the FA Cup.

the New York Rangers lost last night to the Kings, 3-1. it was a rather listless performance for the most part.

i did watch some of the national championship game last night. congrats to Georgia for winning their first title since 1980.

both episodes of Kenan were pretty funny last night.

That's My Jam was hilarious last night.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NXT.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight at home against Saint Louis. hopefully, Dayton will find a way to get a win.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done.

i had to call the dealership today to get an appointment for an oil change for the Highlander. i about shit when they told the earliest appointment they had was January 26th.

i haven't heard back from anyone on my insurance fuck up yet. i'd really love to get this solved and not spend a whole fucking day on the phone doing it.

i need to pick up the trash and figure out what is for dinner.

until tomorrow kids...

the old man can still get it done

i could tell right away yesterday that Carolina was hell bent on stopping the New Orleans Saints from running the ball. thank god, Drew Brees accepted the challenge and was on fire for most of the game. other than the idiotic decision to go for it on 4th down in the 4th quarter, a decision that probably took a few years off of my life, the Saints did what they needed to do to advance in the playoffs. their 31-26 victory over Carolina earns them a date at Minnesota next Sunday.

the New York Rangers lost last night at Las Vegas, 2-1. they are now off on their bye week. they don't play again until Saturday afternoon. god willing they will get healthy during that time off.

i did watch the Golden Globes last night. i thought the monologue was pretty funny. i had no problem with most of the speeches. i did appreciate when some of the women did point out that not all men are pieces of shit. plus, i'm pretty sure Oprah is going to run for President.

Shameless was great last night.

The Chi was really fucking good last night. i highly recommend this show to everyone.

enjoy some music:

and now a little of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and David Bowie: The Last Five Years. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i might watch some of the national championship game tonight between Alabama and Georgia. might.

i heard a song last night on Shameless and when i found it, let me just say i am now slightly obsessed with the band Cigarettes After Sex.

we got a good amount of freezing rain today. i haven't even bothered to venture outside yet to get the paper and mail.

i do think my new arthritis medicine is working better than my old one. i haven't been as miserable as normal today. that's a good sign i suppose.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. i'll be on here tomorrow after a trip to the store to get my medicine and some new eye drops.

i saw my next 5 months flash before my eyes today

mom had a doctor's appointment today with the doctor she went to see when she first thought she was having memory problems. she thought the visit was just going to be finding out what she could do to help her feel like she's remembering things better. in other words, a google search. instead, she now will get a brain MRI, another memory test, physical therapy for her gait, blood work and god knows what else. as the doctor was rattling this shit off, all i could see was afternoons spent in waiting rooms scribbling poems into a little notebook, just like 15 or so months ago. joy.

after all that, mom wanted to go to lunch. we went to the place we used to always go when i had to take her south of town for physical therapy. my bright ass decided to get something a little spicier than before, since it was a little chilly today here. let's just say i have a new poem i have written about having to take a shit and you're about 10 minutes from home and there's traffic.

i realized i forgot to mention the New York Rangers loss in yesterday's blog. that should show just how much this team has disappointed me this season. they play Arizona tomorrow night. i almost give a shit.

Smackdown was pretty good last night.

205 Live was pretty good as well last night.

The Jim Jefferies Show was fucking hilarious last night.

American Horror Story was excellent last night.

Drop the Mic was much better than i thought it was going to be last night.

The Voice was pretty good last night. i'm ready for the knockout rounds now.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, You're the Worst and the season finale of Total Bellas. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade this afternoon. below is the link:
Lydia Loveless - Boy Crazy and Single(s) Sneak Peek

i also listened to an interview with Anthony Grant this afternoon. you can find that by going here:

hard to believe that Dayton will play an exhibition game in just 10 days. college basketball is almost here.

i'll be on here pretty early tomorrow as my afternoon will be filled with taking mom to another doctor's appointment, grocery shopping and getting a battery replaced for the spare car keys.

that's all for me today kids.

happy Elvis is dead day

i have never really been a big fan of Elvis. that is probably due to my father being a huge fan. most of the men in my family that i remember growing up were fans. hell, i remember one cousin dreamed of being an Elvis impersonator. it was probably then that i questioned if i was adopted or stolen from another family. thankfully, i'm not old enough to really recall 40 years ago today.

is anyone really surprised the President is racist? or is it just the typical old man no longer with a filter that actually thinks there is such a thing as a good Nazi? and the silence from the Jews in his inner circles is baffling to me. i guess money can buy every fucking thing in this country, including your fucking soul. enjoy the shit show ladies and gentlemen. you wanted it.

the New York Yankees held on to win last night, 5-4. i do like that Gary Sanchez is heating up. and Sonny Gray finally got some damn run support. but, it might be time to try someone else as closer. they play tonight at the Mets. oh joy, National League baseball.

Smackdown was sort of odd last night. i guess the company lost faith in Baron Corbin, having him cash in the Money in the Bank contract and then having Cena help him lose. i guess i know what that means for SummerSlam. all in all, it's kind of scary how much better Monday Night Raw is at the moment.

205 Live was pretty good last night.

Hard Knocks was pretty funny last night. i do love watching Tampa Bay lose.

Deadliest Catch was really good last night.

The Jim Jefferies Show was fucking fantastic last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Lucha Underground, Mr. Mercedes, Snowfall and Big Brother. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i do plan on watching the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup today between Real Madrid and Barcelona. Barcelona will have to score some away goals today to make it interesting.

it is hotter than shit today. i think it is easily in the 90's. i never like these days. one, i sweat so easily it's ridiculous. two, the heat really fucks with mom's Meniere's disease.

i think it is supposed to storm tomorrow, so it figures that i'll probably have to go to the grocery store. i'll probably be on here after all of that.

i'm really hoping i won't be sitting on the computer at 4 in the morning again like i was 12 hours ago. nothing quite like drinking and then having insomnia.

that's all for me today kids.

surviving the bitter cold

you could say i was somewhat shocked when i didn't find any dead cats today. it got down to at least -30 with the windchill last night. fuck, i was fucking cold and i was in the heat. i have no clue how they all stayed alive last night. i guess the force is strong with them.

mom went to a meeting today and left me her vehicle to use. instead of being a complete degenerate, i decided to get some shit done. so, i did the grocery shopping so mom wouldn't have to come out in this weather. i got what we needed and kept it under $40. that's good i suppose. she was a little shocked when she came home. of course, imagine my surprise as i thought i was picking her up and had just finished jerking off when she walked in the door. that's one feel to feel like a teenager again.

tv last night was good. some parts really good. let's start with...

Lucha Underground was great last night. the whole concept of the title match and the fact that it took up the entire hour was great. i'm happy with who got the title and hopefully there are many more shows to come. here are some highlights:

TNA was good last night. it was my first time watching this company in years. some of it was a pleasant surprise and more of it was why i stopped watching years ago. i'm not sure if i'll keep on watching it, but at least i know i get the channel it is now on.

American Horror Story was fucking creepy last night. Neil Patrick Harris knocked his role out of the park. plus, yet another great ending. easily, one of the best shows on television.

by the time that got done, i was able to watch most of the rest of the New York Rangers game last night. talk about a great way to start a road trip. a very convincing 4-1 win over one of the best teams in the league. hopefully they will have some more in the tank when they have the Stanley Cup Final rematch tonight against the Kings. here are some highlights from last night:

tonight is another clusterfuck of sorts for me on television. the Dayton Flyers play on the road here in a few minutes. the game is on tv, but will clash with The Big Bang Theory. so, now do i listen to the game on the radio or do i flip back and forth like the asshole i am. i suppose you know what will happen. hopefully Dayton gets a win tonight. if they can win games on the road shorthanded like they are, i will be very impressed.

after The Big Bang Theory and god knows what else tonight, i'll be watching the Rangers game for sure. and then hopefully getting some sleep. i could use something more than 4 hours or so. hopefully a couple of victory beers do the trick tonight.

i spent a little time on iTunes today fucking around. you'll see some "new" music down below.

thanks to Janne Karlsson for the great comments on my latest poems. i truly do appreciate them.

that's all for me today. i hope this finds everyone warm or with a drink in their hands. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your time.

a happy morning

nice to see that CC understands it's always better to earn your money from the Yankees rather than just be an asshole and collect it. always nice when the big man goes 9 innings and gives the bullpen a rest before the next series, which starts tonight. hopefully the other bats that started to wake up, Ichiro, Granderson, Tex, can keep it up against Detroit. maybe a little revenge for last year. i do expect these games will have a much better chance of becoming slow pitch softball than the Baltimore series. a lot of Baltimore's players were playoff virgins. that's not the case with Detroit. anxiety has been replaced with experience. may the pitching continue to be great, may the bats come alive, and may all of Detroit's sluggers go cold.

welcome back to the US national team Eddie Johnson. a great, stunning 2 goals to save the team from disaster. now, advancing in World Cup qualifying is much closer to certain than before. and although this team frustrates the shit out of me, i'll give Jurgen Klinsmann credit for having the stones to leave Jozy off the roster and his replacement scores the 2 goals. hopefully they will take care of business next week and get the job done.

was nice to have baseball and soccer end right in time for my Friday addiction, Boss. great show, just not enough nudity this year. maybe the season finale next week will provide that fix.

a busy night tonight as the Yankees and Ohio State play at the same time. yet another night when i need that Elvis wall of televisions. i know my first purchase if i'm ever blessed with fuck you money.
