one of those days...

so, i did hear from the muse this morning before i went grocery shopping. i guess her phone was fucked up and just got it back. at least i hadn't got to the point where i was checking hospitals and the obituaries. that took a load off of my mind. grocery shopping went well today. i kept it under $200, which is becoming harder and harder to do honestly.

i'm hoping to get the grocery shopping done in time tomorrow to watch Manchester United host Leeds.

i should be on here tomorrow after that match is over.

Super Bowl Sunday...

well, much like i thought it would happen, our local CBS station was back on DIRECTV this morning. so, i guess we'll be watching the Super Bowl the regular old way today.

i hope the Chiefs win tonight. as a Saints fan, that would be the only thing tonight i can probably stomach.

when Manchester United were up 2-0 yesterday against Everton, i was pretty happy. 7 minutes into the 2nd half, the game was 2-2. United took the lead 3-2 and i really thought they were going to get the 3 points. silly me. Everton scored at the death to even the game 3-3. that is a blueprint on how you lose a championship.

ROH was very good last night.

Austin City Limits was a tribute to Billy Joe Shaver and Jerry Jeff Walker last night.

Saturday Night Live was very funny last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Axios, The Lady and the Dale, Your Honor and Desus & Mero.

so, when i woke up this morning, it was 5 degrees. i think it's supposed to get into the 20's today at best and we're supposed to get some more snow. good times.

other than grazing and watching the Super Bowl today, i really don't have much planned.

i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday is even better.

snow day

i know as a kid, i absolutely loved the days when snow would close school. at least until i got older and my father would make me go out and shovel every inch of the driveway, sidewalks, porch, etc., mostly out of his fear that someone would slip on the property and sue him for money that he had already pissed away. good times.

as an adult, all the snow fucking means is more stress of driving with fucking idiots on the road and hoping my bad back doesn't act up while i'm walking on this shit.

NXT UK was pretty good last night,

Young Sheldon was pretty funny last night.

The Unicorn was very good last night.

Will & Grace was hilarious last night.

Indebted was pretty good last night.

Desus & Mero was very funny last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, The Shop, Real Time with Bill Maher and High Maintenance. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i decided to get the blog done before i went to the grocery store so maybe the sun would actually come out and melt some of the fucking snow. i think we got a little over 2 inches maybe. that wouldn't have closed shit when i was in school.

the New York Rangers play at home tonight against Buffalo. i'd love to see the boys win again.

i will be on here tomorrow in the morning, before i leave to go see the Dayton Flyers play at home against Saint Louis.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. hope the weather is better wherever you happen to be.

until tomorrow kids...

time to build an ark i guess

it has rained all day today. and by rain, i mean it has fucking poured so bad there is some flooding. it wasn't that fun driving mom to her physical therapy considering a few of the roads were covered with water and the highway was full of trucks going slow. joy. thankfully, i got her there on time with no problems, other than the parking lot was flooded more or less. nothing quite like having wet shoes and socks for the next few hours. i drop mom off at the door, so she doesn't have too far to walk.

i got 16 poems written while she was in physical therapy today. i have no clue when i will get those typed up.

the New York Rangers won last night over Boston, 4-3 in a shootout. it was a pretty entertaining game, that's for sure.

NXT was really good last night.

NXT UK was really good yesterday as well.

Drop the Mic was hilarious last night.

The Masked Singer was fucking crazy last night. second week in a row i was correct.

You're the Worst was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, Celebrity Big Brother, Will & Grace and Lip Sync Battle.

the muse walks right back in...

any longtime reader of this blog (my apologies) might remember that the last woman i fell in love with, i gave the moniker of 'the muse' to. yesterday was her birthday, so i decided to just send an email saying happy birthday, etc. etc. amazingly, and for the first time in probably 2 years, she responded to that email. that email exchange eventually evolved into a little chat last night via Google. and probably 10 minutes into that chat, she brought up some stupid shit i said in an argument we had over 2 years ago. i wonder how many times will i have to apologize for this? as you might imagine, i wrote 5 poems last night, most of which have the overall theme of never fall in love with a woman with a good memory. i typed the poems up this afternoon. they are good. those are my first poems of February. as for the muse, i doubt anything comes of our chat from yesterday. she likes to be way too secretive for my tastes. like if you tell me where you moved to i'm suddenly going to appear there. when the fuck do i travel? plus, she said she was dating, so hopefully that takes up most of her time. it would be even better if someone else stumbled into my life and became the new muse. that would solve a whole world of hurt.

Smackdown was pretty good last night.

205 Live was really good last night. the match between Roderick Strong and Hideo Itami was way better than i thought it was going to be.

Baskets was hilarious last night.

Hate Thy Neighbor was excellent last night. i do enjoy a show that points out while the children might be fuck ups, let's also look at their parents.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The X-Files and Celebrity Big Brother. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight at home against Duquesne. i'm not going to the game.

the New York Rangers play at home tonight against Boston. considering how hot the Bruins have been, i doubt the Rangers have much of a chance.

we did get a few inches of snow overnight. the guy from across the street came over with his snowblower this morning and did the sidewalks and driveway. that saved mom some money. she's on the list with this local company to have her driveway and sidewalks done anytime there is more than 2 inches of snow. i would do it, but with my bad back and arthritis, that is a recipe for disaster.

i believe the Winter Olympics start late tonight. i'm not sure how much of the Winter Olympics i'm actually going to watch this year. with no NHL players playing hockey in the Olympics, i might just become a casual viewer if at all.

that's all for me kids.

i just love being sick

i had to email my sister and tell her there was no way i was going to the basketball game tonight. i have been coughing for the last 2 days. i'm not running a fever but i definitely feel like shit. i went to the drugstore today and got some shit for my cough and to help me sleep. while i was at the store, life reminded me why i'm a loser. i'm standing in line waiting for this guy to get done with this beautiful cashier that i was really hoping to get a chance to flirt with. of course, an older lesbian opens up the next register and says, i can help you here sir. FUCK. there's another poem. i did laugh when i had to give the cashier the date of my birth so i could buy NyQuil though.

hopefully all the shit i got helps me get rid of this cough. if not, hopefully straight liquor will do the trick.

Monday Night Raw was very good last night. i would have loved to see Samoa Joe beat the shit out of Roman Reigns, but i understand. and i have no doubt that Goldberg taking on Kevin Owens at Fastlane means Owens is going to lose his title. that would make Goldberg vs. Lesnar at WrestleMania for the Universal title. that smells like what Vince thinks we want to see. as long as that means Owens vs. Jericho at Mania, i guess i can live with it.

Hate Thy Neighbor was about the budding racists in Ukraine. i have no problem when someone loves their country. when they are doing it with Neo-Nazi views, there's a big fucking problem.

The Young Pope was very interesting last night. there's only two episodes left. i have no damn clue where the show is going to go.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, WWE Smackdown and Taboo. i'll watch 205 Live on WWE Network sometime tonight.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Anaheim. hopefully they can get another victory and keep pace in the division.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight at home against Saint Joseph's. this will be the first game i'm going to miss this season. i think the game is on television. this is a game Dayton must win.

i did listen to the latest Jim Norton & Sam Roberts podcast this morning. you can find it by going here: https://soundcloud.com/jimandsamshow/ep-012-awkward-crush-interactions-henry-winkler-20170206

i've been up since 6 this morning and haven't been really able to sleep much today. i know what i need is a good 10 hour coma to let the white blood cells get to work. wish me luck.

so today is supposed to be super or something

amazingly, i woke up this morning after 4 hours of sleep and felt refreshed. must be the alcohol.

the New York Rangers played like shit for most of yesterday. so when Yandle scored with 12 seconds left to send the game into OT, i wasn't thrilled. this team learns more when they get beat than when they fuck around and just do shit good enough. the Rangers went on to win the game in a shootout, 3-2. hopefully their captain doesn't have a concussion from the Wayne Simmonds sucker punch. the Rangers next play on Monday against the Devils.

the Dayton Flyers took George Mason behind the woodshed last night and destroyed them. i don't believe i have seen a Dayton team shoot that good in my life. over 60% from the floor and over 60% from 3. just unreal. Dayton won 98-64. that's the most points they have scored on the road since 1973. Dayton next plays at home on Tuesday. hopefully, mom and i will be going (weather permitting)

i didn't watch the HBO documentary last night. i'm saving that for another day. Austin City Limits was really good last night. i saved that one on the DVR as well to watch again.

ROH was excellent last night. i enjoyed the main event, although i would love to see a no disqualification match between those two teams soon.

Saturday Night Live was much better than i thought it was going to be last night. i thought Larry David was fucking hilarious.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Shameless and Billions.

Manchester United plays Chelsea later this morning. i'm really hoping United wins so i'm not in a pissy mood for the rest of the day.

a little game called the Super Bowl is on tonight. since i don't give a shit for either team, i'll be more interested in the commercials. i do think Carolina will win, but i expect a close, low scoring game.

at some point today, i want to take a shower and really stretch out my back good. if all those days of snow are coming like they are predicting, my back is going to be in misery.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully your Sunday is even better. enjoy the Super Bowl, or the commercials, or the party, take your choice.

heartbreaks and nostalgia... another drink please...

let's rewind to Friday night. i started watching the Dayton Flyers play and quickly realized that the officials were going to ruin this game. and sure enough, that's exactly what they did. the sad part is 2 of the 3 of them have been officials in the Final Four before. so, now i have come to the sad thought that ALL fucking college basketball refs fucking suck. as you might imagine, Dayton lost last night. the kicker is, they lost 65-64 in OT. think about that these dumb fucking officials took away a legit 3 point play from Dayton and you can imagine my fury. Dayton plays again on Tuesday at St. Louis. that more or less is a MUST win given how piss poor this league is in the eyes of all of the "experts" in college basketball.

thankfully, right after that was over there was some great matches on NJPW. i really didn't give a shit that the footage was a few years old. i could watch Okada wrestle all day long.

after that, i watched Treehouse Masters. they were building in Kentucky, not that far from where my father is from. i laughed since most of southern Ohio might as well be Kentucky. they built a massive barn in the trees. how that won't fall down is beyond me.

i took a shower late last night. that helped me get some sleep. i woke up this morning and got a little breakfast and started watching some soccer from Europe. after feeding the cats and the birds, i got ready for the party. we got there a little late, but not as late as the surprised birthday boy was. i haven't seen my friend Mike since he got married. that was probably damn near 15 years ago. most of the people at the party i hadn't seen since that wedding as well. i made sure to get the alcohol flowing as there was no way i was going to go through this day sober. it was good chatting with Mike some. found out he's a Chelsea fan, so of course a part of me despises him now. i gave him and his two sisters my business card, just in case they actually want to read this shit and perhaps BUY A BOOK.

after the party, my mother, sister and i went to this cool used bookstore that's just a few doors down from the restaurant we were at. i found a few things that i bought. i figure a DVD, 2 poetry books, and a Batman graphic novel all for $14 was pretty damn good.

and then to the shock of everyone, i didn't bitch when they wanted to do some more shopping at Target. we did some of the grocery shopping there as well as getting some things for the new house. after getting the mail and unloading everything, i turned on the New York Rangers game.

i didn't have a good feeling about the game today given the bad news from yesterday and how good Nashville is this year. i turned on the game right after Nashville took a 3-2 lead. that would be how the game would finish. good thing i had my alcohol earlier in the day. the Rangers play again tomorrow night on what i'm calling clusterfuck Sunday.

honestly, there are so many god damn things i want to watch tomorrow, i may not get any sleep. from Manchester United in the morning to the hockey game to all the usual Sunday night shows and all the ones coming back on, let alone the fucking Grammys are on as well. fuck me runnin'.

i guess the rest of this day will be spent doing some reading, watching some sports, Foo Fighters on Austin City Limits and a new episode of ROH.

i have no fucking clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. i guess in the morning before the soccer comes on. that is if i have got the animals fed and all the trash down to the end of the lane. if my lazy side wins out, it will be in the afternoon when i should be napping.

i hope everyone is having a great weekend. or, at least better than my sports teams are doing. thanks again for allowing me to waste a few minutes of your precious time.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
