welcome to national poetry month

as many long time followers of this blog already know, i do a little something extra for this blog every April. for this year, i think i'm going to do a couple videos each day of favorite poets of mine.

the New York Yankees are doing the same shit this season they did last season. last season, they had trouble defeating the teams that absolutely sucked. it's why they lost the division to the Red Sox. well, they started off this season losing the first series to an Orioles team that is fucking awful. the game yesterday had a rain delay of over 3 hours to start. the Yankees ended up losing the game, 7-5. they start a series tonight at home against the Tigers.

the New York Rangers won yesterday at Philadelphia, 3-0. they play tonight at New Jersey.

the college basketball games yesterday were great. it should definitely be a very interesting Final Four. Auburn vs. Virginia and Texas Tech vs. Michigan State.

the finale of The Case Against Adnan Syed was pretty depressing last night. i hate that our justice system in this country has no problem keeping an innocent man in jail, as long as they aren't white. if Adnan would be named John Smith and be white, he never would have gone to jail in the first place. and the fact that all that matters is wins and losses is beyond troubling. of course, no one gives a shit until it happens to them.

Barry was excellent last night.

Veep was hilarious last night.

Last Week Tonight was brilliant as usual. it will be interesting to see what the WWE response to the main piece on the show will be.

Billions was really good last night.

the finale of Black Monday was pretty good last night.

the finale of SMILF was good last night. you could tell they had thoughts on doing a third season with how the show ended.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

i have to take mom to her doctor's appointment this afternoon. she wants to go out to eat afterwards (if she feels up to it). tomorrow, she gets her injection in her back. she's really looking forward to that. her back has been really killing her the last few weeks.

and at some point this week i need to go to the bank and pick up my prescriptions at the grocery store.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i'm pretty bummed about the Nipsey Hussle news. i can't say i was his biggest fan, but i did enjoy listening to his music. and 33 is way too fucking young to die.

that's all for me kids. until tomorrow...

peace and chicken grease...

sunshine, welcome back...

the wind blew so damn hard last night that when i woke up this morning, everything looked dry outside. thankfully, if it ever did snow, i never saw it. i think we easily got close to 2 inches of rain yesterday.

the college basketball games last night were excellent. hopefully, the two games today, Auburn vs. Kentucky and Michigan St. vs. Duke will be as good.

Saturday Night Live was pretty good last night.

ROH was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be the finale of The Case Against Adnan Syed, Barry, Veep, Last Week Tonight, Billions, and the finales of Black Monday and SMILF.

the New York Rangers play this afternoon at Philadelphia. neither team is making the playoffs, so i expect a feisty game today.

the New York Yankees will try to win the series against the Orioles this afternoon.

i'll probably be flipping between those two games before the college basketball games start this afternoon.

i'll be on here tomorrow early, at least before i take mom to her doctor's appointment. she wants to go out to eat after that, so i know i won't be home until way later than i want the blog to go out. next week is crazy, to say the least. she has 3 doctor's appointments and i have to take her to her accountant on Friday to get the taxes done. i don't even want to think about all the shit i have going on on Friday until it gets here.

hard to believe this is the last day of March. time flies when the end approaches.

i hope everyone had a good Saturday. hopefully, your Sunday will be even better.

until tomorrow kids...

the rain has finally ended...

it started raining yesterday in the evening and didn't stop until 2 this afternoon. needless to say, i didn't sleep worth a fuck last night. thankfully, i did get to sleep about 3 hours earlier than i had been. of course, i still didn't sleep more than 5 hours.

i had to go to the grocery store today to pick up some prescriptions. at least it was a boring trip.

i did watch a few hours of the basketball games yesterday. i was totally hoping Duke was going to lose.

the season finale of Total Bellas last night was pretty good.

The Case Against Adnan Syed last night was really good. it brought up the one thing that i absolutely hate about the justice system in this county. the job of the prosecutor is to get justice. too many times it turns into all about wins and losses. that's not justice, that's a motherfucker trying to make sure they keep getting a pay raise.

Billions was excellent last night.

Black Monday was hilarious last night. can't wait for the finale next week.

i know what SMILF was trying to do last night, but honestly, it was awful. the series finale next week is long overdue now.

the New York Yankees won yesterday against the Twins. they are playing at the Nationals tonight for the final spring training game. the season opens on Thursday.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and One Nation Under Stress. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

the New York Rangers play at home tonight against Pittsburgh. all the Rangers can do the rest of the season is play spoiler or lose to try to improve their draft odds of getting a good pick. i'll probably watch a little of the game.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow after my trip to the doctor. hard to believe it's been six months.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

until tomorrow kids...

i feel like a cat that forgets to take naps...

i suppose i'm at the stage of life where alcohol actually fuels me. i had a couple victory drinks last night and a shot of Karate Cowboy for shits and giggles and i didn't fall asleep until well after 5 in the morning.

ROH was really good last night.

none of the college basketball games were really close last night, so hopefully there will be some close games and upsets today.

it figures, the New York Rangers would win in Toronto last night, 2-1 in OT, on the night they were officially eliminated from playoff contention.

here are some of the highlights from Trotwood Madison winning their first state championship in basketball from yesterday. they became the first team EVER in the state of Ohio to score over 3,000 points in a season.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be the season finale of Total Bellas, The Case Against Adnan Syed, Billions, Black Monday and SMILF.

i think the rain is supposed to be here in a few hours, so i'm going to go ahead and get some ice on my back now.

the New York Yankees are playing their last game in Florida for spring training today. they are playing the Twins. i can't believe opening day is just a few days away.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully, your Sunday will be even better.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow in the afternoon.

until then kids...

embrace the pain like an old lover...

i will tell anyone that listens, the only way i have made it to being 43 is finding the pleasure in the pain. the day that stops, i stop. so far, so good.

i thought the NCAA did a good job with the brackets this year. i can't imagine Duke not winning it all this year, although i'd love to see them lose. for the first time in like 30 years, i'm not filling out a bracket. i want to just sit back and enjoy the games for a change.

i will be going to the First Four tomorrow and Wednesday. below are the games i will be watching:

Tuesday:
Prairie View A&M vs. Fairleigh Dickinson
Temple vs. Belmont

Wednesday:
N.C. Central vs. North Dakota St.
St. John's vs. Arizona State

the Dayton Flyers are playing at Colorado in the NIT. the game is on at 11 PM on Tuesday. most of the Dayton fans will be asleep by then. the game is very interesting though for one reason. Colorado's starting point guard originally was going to go to Dayton until Archie Miller left for Indiana. so the matchup between him and Jalen Crutcher will be one to watch.

mom had her last physical therapy session today. her strength in her shoulder is much better now, as is her range of motion. we went out to Perkins after the session.

i wrote 10 poems today while mom was in her physical therapy session. i will type those up late tonight probably.

The Case Against Adnan Syed was really good last night. that episode reaffirmed everything i have thought about Baltimore police for the last 30 years.

the season finale of High Maintenance was excellent last night.

Last Week Tonight was fucking brilliant as usual.

Billions was great last night. should be another crazy season.

Black Monday was really good last night.

SMILF was good last night.

Total Bellas was pretty good last night. next week is the season finale.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

the weather was pretty good today. i'm hoping it stays that way for the next few days.

the New York Yankees won both of their games yesterday. so, i had at least 2 drinks on St. Patrick's Day. they are leading the Braves so far tonight.

i will be on here in the morning tomorrow. everything gets moved up tomorrow with having two basketball games to go to tomorrow night.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

best of luck if you are gambling on the basketball games.

until tomorrow kids...

snowing on St. Patrick's Day...

this is what it looks like out of the back door of the house right now...

and from the back window...

at least the snow isn't really sticking at the moment.

Happy St. Patrick's Day to everyone.

i suppose it was a good thing i wasn't able to watch Manchester United yesterday. they lost to Wolves, 2-1, knocking them out of the FA Cup. now, only the pipe dream of winning the Champions League exists for the team, which means they need to really concentrate everything on finishing in the top 4 of the Premier League. joy.

the New York Rangers lost at Minnesota last night, 5-2. they got 1 point out of a possible 8 on the road trip. lose for Hughes boys. hopefully the NHL will be smart enough to "fix" the lottery and have the Rangers win it.

ROH was really good last night.

i did watch a ton of college basketball yesterday. i'll probably watch some today, seeing that it is Selection Sunday. i figure the Dayton Flyers will be in the NIT, not that it really fucking matters.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Case Against Adnan Syed, the season finale of High Maintenance, Last Week Tonight, Total Bellas, Billions, Black Monday and SMILF.

the New York Yankees beat Toronto yesterday 17-7. hopefully there will be more of that in the regular season. they are playing split squad games today against the Orioles and Phillies.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after mom's last physical therapy session.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully, your Sunday will be even better.

i more or less feel like a zombie anymore...

i didn't get to sleep until 5 this morning. i woke up a little after 10:30. i ended up eating breakfast at noon. joy.

i typed up the 9 poems i wrote yesterday late last night. i really liked a few of them. i'm over 30 poems for the month now.

i sent out 45 poems today. 3 each to Rusty Truck, Red Eft Review and Mad Swirl; 5 each to Synchronized Chaos, Horror Sleaze Trash (1 poem already published), Word Dish and Misfit Magazine; 6 poems to Record Magazine and 10 poems to Stanzaic Stylings (already rejected). when i hear back from the other places, i will pass along the verdicts.

i finally watched The Case Against Adnan Syed last night. i never listened to the Serial podcast, so i only knew a little about this case before watching the first episode. this does look like it is going to be pretty fascinating to watch.

The Voice was pretty good last night.

Monday Night Raw was a bit crazy last night, but you can tell it's full steam ahead to WrestleMania now.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and Smackdown. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i got all the trash picked up before i started the blog, so that is already down to the curb.

the New York Rangers lost last night at Edmonton, 3-2 in OT.

i will probably be on here tomorrow between loads of my laundry.

congrats to Obi Toppin for winning the A10 Rookie of the Year and becoming the first freshman to be on the 1st team all conference in 20 years. hopefully the Dayton Flyers can go on a run and surprise everyone and win the A10 tournament this year. they will play again on Friday night.

that's all for me kids.

until tomorrow...

it was bound to end sometime...

i woke up with a terrible headache this morning. i'm not sure if it was the alcohol (not likely) or the massive cold front that moved through the area last night. plus, the clocks got moved forward a hour. anywho, i felt like something bad was going to happen today and sure enough...

i really wanted Manchester United to take the momentum they got in Paris and have it travel with them today when they faced Arsenal. sadly, it didn't. instead, United had the letdown that i feared was coming. they simply were not clinical in the final third of the pitch when they needed to be. add in some shitty officiating, and you have yourselves a 2-0 loss. not exactly how i wanted to start my Sunday. this will be a good test for Ole to see how the team responds from this.

the Dayton Flyers won last night at Duquesne, 78-67. they finished the regular season with a record of 21-10. that's 7 games better than last season. they are the 3 seed in the A10 Tournament, which means they won't play again until Friday night.

the New York Rangers scored 4 straight goals last night to defeat New Jersey, 4-2.

the New York Yankees won last night over Baltimore, 6-1. they have a split squad today playing against the Pirates and Tigers.

Saturday Night Live was pretty funny last night.

ROH was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Aretha! A Grammy Celebration for the Queen of Soul, The Case Against Adnan Syed, the series finale of Crashing, High Maintenance, Last Week Tonight, Total Bellas, the season finale of Shameless, Black Monday and SMILF. i'll be watching WWE Fastlane for most of the evening on WWE Network.

i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow. mom has physical therapy at 4 in the afternoon, so i'll try to get the blog done before i take her. i also have some medications for me to pick up...

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday is even better.

i suppose, since it's 4 in the afternoon now, i should think about eating lunch.
