where the fuck did November go? i must be getting closer to death...
it has been a sunny morning, slowly warming up.
The Voice was really good last night. i have no clue which 2 are going home tonight.
a delightful trip into the dark mind of an evil genius or simply the musings of an asshole
where the fuck did November go? i must be getting closer to death...
it has been a sunny morning, slowly warming up.
The Voice was really good last night. i have no clue which 2 are going home tonight.
as you can see, i have no fucking title for the blog today, so the smart ass that resides in my brain won out. i have spent most of today in pain. fun times.
on to better news, the Dayton Flyers defeated Belmont yesterday, 63-61, to win that tournament down in Orlando. it's the first one they have won in a decade i believe. i really hope this is the galvanizing point of the season where they take off from here and be great. one thing that is really obvious, they are a much better team when Malachi Smith is on the floor. the offense flows so much better when he's running the show. he won the MVP of the tournament.
at least i am getting better at handling my anger. i was given plenty of practice yesterday as Ohio State shit the bed against that shit school up north. Ohio State lost 42-27. much like Ryan Day said after the game, it was a failure. the defense couldn't stop a fucking cold yesterday. and when you give up 5 rushing touchdowns to one player, you deserve to lose. i'm not sure which bowl game they will be playing in. i just know it isn't one that i wanted to see them in.
so, my mother and i got home yesterday right around halftime of the Dayton Flyers game against Kansas. i turned the game on in my room, as my sister was watching some Christmas movie out in the living room. Dayton was down 10 at halftime, but given the turnovers they had and missed free throws, i knew if they cleaned that up, they still had a chance. plus, the spread was 16 points, so they were well within that. Dayton started the second half on fire. they clawed all the way back and eventually took the lead. and then they expanded on that lead. i knew Kansas had another run in them, so i didn't allow myself to think about the impossible. Dayton hadn't beaten at top 5 team since 1984. Kansas eventually got the lead back. Dayton cut it to a 1 point game and had a chance to win. Malachi Smith, who is clearly the heartbeat of this team, had his shot blocked, but it went right to Mustapha Amzil. he drove to the lane with 3 seconds left. with one second left, he put up a prayer. and when that shot hit the rim, went off the glass and into the basket, i believe every Dayton Flyers fan on earth lost their fucking minds. this team, that lost to teams they had no business losing to, just beat the number 4 team in the country and was back at .500 on the season. and now, they will get to play for a championship on Sunday against Belmont. HOLY SHIT!!!!!
the New York Rangers defeated Boston yesterday, 5-2.
amazingly, much like never having a Facebook account, i have never gone out shopping on Black Friday. and honestly, i don't think i have missed anything because of it.
Thanksgiving went pretty good for the most part. i think my sister and mother got mad at each other. i get the feeling my sister just can't accept the fact that mom's health is failing as quickly as it is. as i told my mother last night, that is her problem, not yours.
the Dayton Flyers shocked the shit out of me yesterday. they easily played their best game of the season, defeating Miami of Florida, 76-60. they will play #4 Kansas today. if they win that game, i'll be totally fucking shocked.
Happy Thanksgiving
i hope everyone has a great day.
it's raining here, so i know i will be miserable for most of the day. good times.
the New York Rangers won last night at the Islanders, 4-1.
so, my sister got here last night. she has her friend's dog with her, long story. i am more of a cat person, so... i wasn't exactly happy when my sister went to the store this morning and i ended up having to take the dog out. once to piss and once again because it wanted to be a curious asshole. mind you, i'm in a hoodie and some shorts and it is in the 40's outside. good times.
The Voice was good last night. i wasn't happy but not shocked with who got eliminated.
so, i wasn't really sure what to expect from Manchester United today. they were playing in Spain at Villarreal in the Champions League. they needed a win today to secure a place in the last 16 for the Champions League. David de Gea made some great saves. and then late in the match, CR7 to the rescue. United got a second goal from Jadon Sancho. i'm so happy he finally did something positive. i hope that opens the floodgates for that kid. United won 2-0. Michael Carrick got his first win. they have a huge test this weekend against Chelsea.
so, John at Black Shamrock Magazine sent me an email today and said he was putting another issue together. he asked if i would be interested in sending him 4 poems? well, of course i would be. thankfully, i had a handful ready to go, so i sent him 4 poems. and sure enough, my poems "she charged me double", "impending doom or death", "the bleak winter days" and "all the bad acting" have been accepted for publication.
my poems "numb the day", "a random tuesday in america" and "in all the pain and misery" have been published at Terror House Magazine. you can read the poems by going here:

maybe this is becoming my new normal for Mondays. going to bed sometime around the sun coming up and being up less than 3 hours later to put the coffee on. and then another power nap in the late morning and boom, tackle the rest of the day. i did go grocery shopping today. i found everything, between two different stores, that i needed to get for Thanksgiving. my sister will be down here tomorrow night. we should have plenty if she brings everything she said she was going to.
so, yesterday was a bit crazy. first off, let me start with the bad news. the New Orleans Saints lost to the Eagles yesterday, 40-29. honestly, it never even felt that close. the Saints play at home on Thanksgiving night against Buffalo. oh joy.
so, i guess i'll start at where we left off yesterday...
Manchester United played like shit yesterday at Watford. i turned the game off when United went down 2-0. thank god i did as they lost the game 4-1. i got a news alert later in the day that the board at Manchester United had an emergency meeting in the afternoon to FINALLY sack Ole. they made it official this morning. Michael Carrick will be the manager for the next few games, at least until they hire an interim manager. i have no damn clue who that is going to be or who is going to get the job permanently. all i know is all the great managers are already taken or already said they aren't interested. so yeah, once again the whole fucking club is a circus. good times.
i heard back from Matt at Terror House Press on my poetry submission from two weeks ago. my poems "numb the day", "a random tuesday in america" and "in all the pain and misery" have been accepted for publication.
i wanted to get up at 6 this morning. when i saw the clock was at 5:56, i decided to just get a little more sleep. that little more got me to 7:05. so yeah, i never get good sleep, more like i get the equivalent to a power nap. good times.
Smackdown and 205 Live were both pretty good last night.
