this will be the final blog for probably the next few weeks. mom broke her left hip last night when she fell in the kitchen. broke it in two spots. i went to the emergency room last night and she was in tremendous pain. i came back home when they said they didn't have a hospital room for her and wouldn't know until the morning. i got back home and got a whopping 2 1/2 hours of sleep. she's still in the emergency room. she's supposed to have surgery sometime today. they still haven't given her a time. i know when she gets back home she will 8 weeks of recovery. i will probably start doing the blog on a regular basis again when i get into my new routine with her.
thanks to everyone for the kind thoughts and well wishes.
until we meet again.

happy earth day to everyone, well, almost everyone. there is a rather large portion of assholes that fall into the let's use up everything we fucking can, deplete the planet, and then go fuck up the next one. those assholes have no damn clue what they are actually fucking doing to this planet.
below are your 2 videos for this day of National Poetry Month:
i found out right before i fell asleep last night that the pope had died. i find it curious that one of the last pieces of shit to see him alive was J.D. Vance. now, i'm not saying one thing killed the other, just saying it is interesting. in a weird way, last night was full of tragedy. be it wrestling, tv shows, reality... damn.
night 2 of WrestleMania was damn near perfect. the show was much better paced than night 1. i liked the matches better. the Joe Hendry surprise was actually a surprise. it was great to see Becky Lynch back. then, the main event started. Cena's win over Cody felt completely anticlimactic. now, i have learned to let everything play out before casting judgement, but this certainly fell flat. and i know in wrestling history, when your main event falls flat, it takes away from the whole show.
i do love that today happens to be 4/20 and Easter. they go hand in hand most of the time.
night 1 of WrestleMania was good. a few surprises, probably nothing bigger than what happened in the pre-show. WWE has purchased the Mexican promotion AAA. that floored me. i have always been a fan of lucha libre and can only hope that the WWE machine will make it even bigger. as for the matches, i love that Jey Uso won the title. the Paul Heyman double backstab to end up with Seth Rollins was very good. hopefully, it will be even better tonight.
WrestleMania 41 is this weekend. since i have seen every WrestleMania, i don't plan on ending that streak anytime soon. so, plenty of the next few blogs will have enough wrestling talk to drive you mad. i totally get it if you skip all that to find the other stuff. but, if you are interested in it, enjoy.
before i get to any of that, here are your videos for this day of National Poetry Month:
i heard back from Mad Swirl on my poetry submission from back in January. my poem "old poets" has been accepted for publication. it should appear on the site on April 23, 2025.
when Manchester United was up 2-0 at halftime yesterday, i felt pretty confident. when they were down 4-2 in extra time against Lyon (playing with 10 men), i felt horrible. then, Casemiro got fouled in the box. Bruno scored the penalty kick. then, Casemiro and Bruno made a great little passing play to Kobbie Mainoo to make it 4-4. one minute after that, Casemiro made the perfect pass to Harry Maguire to head in the winner. 3 goals in 7 minutes. holy shit. one of the craziest games i can remember. first European game to have 5 goals scored in extra time. United won 5-4 and 7-6 on aggregate. they advance to the semifinals of the Europa League.
i heard back from Alan at Misfit Magazine on my recent poetry submission. my poems "bent spoons on the floor" and "before the night gets going" have been accepted for publication.
so, i was getting ready to write this about a hour ago. that was until i heard mom scream from her room. i went in and turned on the light and asked what was wrong? she started complaining about all the people in her room, etc. i told her she is once again hallucinating and thinking her dreams are reality. i explain to her all the time this is the byproduct of not doing any drugs while growing up in the 60's.

if it was just a little warmer today, it would have been perfect to open up the house some.

i actually got more than 4 hours of sleep last night. i'm guessing i must have found a slot where my pinched nerve didn't bother me. or, the rye whiskey did the trick.
the New York Rangers won last night at Florida, 5-3. it was the first time all season they had a multi-goal comeback. sure, do it after you are eliminated from playoff contention.

Manchester United lost yesterday at Newcastle, 4-1. i figured they would lose yesterday, i was just hoping they wouldn't have any injuries. silly me.
