there are days where i just feel beaten. sort of what i always felt like Kerouac was getting at with the Beat generation. i have plenty of moments where i feel defeated and truly question what the fuck am i doing? but, i still feel proud that i can take a shit large enough to clog a toilet. part of me knows i shouldn't, but that's probably why i do. i have never been like everyone else, why the fuck am i going to start at 40? let's just say, the poems should be interesting for the next few weeks.
the New York Yankees lost again yesterday, 5-2. this is the first time since 1995 they are below .500 after the All Star break. if they can't figure out they need to be sellers at the trade deadline, they are truly fucking clueless. the manager said tonight is a MUST WIN game. i won't be shocked when they lose.
ROH was excellent last night. the match between Roderick Strong and Dalton Castle was excellent. next week's episode should be great.

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Power, The Night Of, Ballers, Vice Principals, Roadies and Ray Donovan.
my sister sent me the pics she took up in Cleveland. here's a few of them:
the guy who mows our grass got the toilet unclogged. that certainly saved some money.
i guess i should feed the birds before it storms tonight. i'm certainly not looking forward to a night of constant wind and rain. this could be the night i just drink myself into oblivion.
i hope everyone has a great Sunday. at the very least, i hope it's better than your Saturday was.
i would love to be naive enough to think i could write the words PLEASE STOP KILLING EACH OTHER and it would make a difference. imagine what this country could have been like if we actually had a honest talk about race after the Civil War. just imagine if we actually would have evolved to be at the point in 2016 that we recognize everyone as a human worth respecting. but, enough people make enough money off of hate, that i can't see anything changing anytime soon. i would love to go one day without seeing that an innocent black male was killed or any cops were killed in response. just one fucking day. and when that becomes too much to ask for, you can imagine what we're degenerating into.

right before i pulled the shades down last night, i saw this cat go over and start sniffing by the sewer. i look at cats now as ghosts. i used to have so many and damn near every cat i see i can see something that reminds me of one of the farm cats. not sure if that was why i was tossing and turning all night long, but it's as good a reason as any.
mom and i went to the grocery store this morning. we left sometime after noon. that should explain everything.
the New York Yankees lost 5-3 last night. hopefully they will lose again this afternoon, although i truly fucking hate losing to the Red Sox.
NJPW was excellent last night. 3 title matches from back in September of 2015. a great hour of wrestling.
Treehouse Masters was pretty cool last night. i think if i ever come back for another life, all i want is a treehouse that gets me completely off the grid; a pool table and a little place to cook food from the solar garden below.

Manchester United played their first preseason game today. judging from everything i've read, things went well.
not sure if it's supposed to rain today or not. my body is saying yes you fucker, it's going to rain cats and dogs. the sky of course is sunny. this is what misery is like.
i need to go get some lunch and then maybe do a little writing.
i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

i just love getting an email from a editor or publisher that points out a mistake i have made. not saying that i don't want editors and publishers to do this... i'm saying i always beat the shit out of myself for making the mistake in the first place. that's the fun part of having a father that never showed you any love unless you were perfect. so, you can imagine why i am fucked in the head.
i haven't even begun to think about what to write about what happened in France yesterday. sadly, i don't think anything shocks me anymore. i've been immune to death for almost my whole life now. in this rinse/repeat cycle we live in now, it just shows how disposable we as humans truly are in the eyes of other humans. we've already fucked over the planet, now it's time to get what's left.
Big Brother did have the surprise eviction last night. but, the ladies forgot they have to win the next HOH to have the plan work. whoops. so, basically, nothing got accomplished. that certainly sounds like reality.
Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll was hilarious last night. i really like this show.
last night was the final taped Smackdown for the time being. the show will be moving to Tuesday nights next week. that should make things a little more interesting. i did like the show last night, mostly for KO and Seth Rollins winning.
enjoy some music:

the New York Yankees start the second half of the season tonight at home against Boston. i read a report today where it said the GM of the team wants to start trading players away but the owner and team vice president thinks they can still win and want to trade away young talent to get better players for now. no wonder the team fucking sucks this season. hopefully, since they are playing 3 of the better teams in baseball on this homestand, they go on a nice losing streak so the non baseball people in the organization can see the benefits of selling at the deadline.
i saw the New York Rangers signed 3 more players today. they still have 2 big restricted free agents to sign. i like how they have really made the bottom six forwards much better. that should definitely help the penalty killing next season.
i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade last night. i'll post the link below in the music section.
i don't have any big plans over the weekend. i imagine i'll have to take mom to the grocery store at some point and hopefully, get some writing done.
i hope all of you have a great weekend.

the misery i felt last night is being doubled down on today. nothing quite like sitting at a computer for most of the day, typing while feeling all the fucking effects of arthritis. this may be one of those nights where i look at a bottle of vodka and decide it's just me and you babe.
i sent out 22 poems today. 5 each to Horror Sleaze Trash and Section 8 Magazine. 3 each to Napalm and Novocain, Pyrokinection, In Between Hangovers and Bluepepper. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.
the wrestling last night was great. Lucha Underground was awesome. NXT had a great match between Nakamura and Finn Balor. i'm fully expecting that to be Finn's last match before he gets called up to WWE. i fully expect him to be part of the draft on July 19th. the CWC (Cruiser Weight Classic) was spectacular last night. i loved the pairing of Mauro Ranallo and Daniel Bryan on commentary. the matches were excellent as well. i really think this is going to be one of the best things WWE has done in years.
Big Brother was pretty funny last night. i'm hoping there's a shock vote tonight at the eviction, which should get the house going paranoid. then, it's really Big Brother.
Tyrant was fucking crazy last night. thankfully i was able to catch what i missed when the satellite got knocked out from the storms last night. i'm getting the feeling that this will be the last season of the show. it seems like most FX shows only go for 3 seasons. if it is the last season, they are certainly going out with a bang.
Any Given Wednesday was really interesting last night.

oh goody, i hear thunder in the distance. so that stuff will be on the DVR, weather permitting.
i guess if the satellite does go out tonight, i'll catch up on some reading. hell, i guess i should do some writing as well, just in case some of those 22 poems i sent out get accepted for publication.
i did catch some highlights from the ESPY awards last night.
i'm sure that made white america a little uncomfortable. good.

they ran out of the normal stuff to check my A1C, so they had to take two vials of blood from me today instead of one. thankfully, i'm not scared of needles. my doctor believes the pills i'm on now are right, but in a couple of days we'll know for sure. if they are right, i won't be a type 2 diabetic just yet. but, given my genetics, it's inevitable. lucky for me, i don't bleed much, so i didn't have to wear the gauze and paper tape that long. yeah, they had ran out of the wrap us hairy fucks need so we don't have to fuck with band-aids. so, i think i had breakfast sometime around noon today. good times.
Deadliest Catch was pretty interesting last night. Maya & Marty was really funny once again.

it's hotter than hell here at the moment and there are storms coming. just fucking perfect.
i did see that the New York Rangers signed J.T. Miller to a 2 year deal today. hopefully they can get all their restricted free agents signed to similar deals.

today was one of those days... i wouldn't say it's depression, it's certainly not joy... just that weird feeling i sometimes get when the pain isn't overbearing but i can feel it. it almost reminds me of when i was on drugs... the void. the certain need to find that spot to dwell, waste away. and i'm not saying this is a bad thing. i often find my best moments of creativity when i'm at my lowest. probably explains why i write so many poems on the toilet. today i put on the right music and it just happened to take me away. i was still able to get some shit done, so maybe i'm just a functioning dreamer.
i didn't watch one second of the Home Run Derby last night. i won't watch one second of the All Star game tonight. it actually feels good to be away from baseball for a few days.
Monday Night Raw had a few good moments (Seth Rollins was great last night) but was mostly just a bunch of blah. next week, the final Raw before the brand split, has the potential to be really good. but, potential and the WWE is usually a recipe for disaster.
on the DVR tonight will be Deadliest Catch and Maya & Marty.
i did a little poetry work this afternoon. i should have a monster day of submissions coming up, most likely on Thursday.
the one thing that i did really like about being away from here was the amount of different shit i could write about. that's certainly the one drawback to living in a small town. especially when you don't really like going to any of the local bars and sitting around and shooting the shit with people. i do know when my imagination runs dry, i either have to move or convince myself i'm a better painter than a poet. and i doubt there are enough drugs in the world for that to happen.
i have trash to pick up and i really need to take a shower. it's a hot and sticky one here today. i was outside for maybe 20 minutes and had sweat running down into the crack of my ass. enjoy that visual.

well, hello there. i'm back from vacation. other than the fucking humidity and me forgetting the charger for my camera, everything was really good. i can now say i've used Uber and have seen the New York Yankees win in person. today's blog is going to be a long one, so grab something to drink and sit back and enjoy.
the drive up was pretty good. just missed a nice rollover accident on I-71 by a few minutes. other than the ton of cops out, the drive was a quick one. our first stop was A Christmas Story house in Cleveland. my sister loves this movie.
if it would have been cooler, i probably would have enjoyed it more. but it felt something like death outside. find more about the tour by going here: http://www.achristmasstoryhouse.com/
next we went to an Irish pub to watch the game between France and Germany. the fish and chips were excellent. as for the game, i was a little surprised that France won.
we walked around downtown a little, stumbling into the House of Blues. i got a cool shot glass from there. then it was time to go find the hotel.
my sister heard from a friend that the hotel we were staying at was really good. while we were there, she realized that her friend had never stayed at the hotel, he only saw it from the bar he was drinking in. it was a total hipster hotel. no drawers to put anything in, so we were basically living out of our suitcases. the beds sucked. the pillows sucked. the toilet was about as low to the ground as possible. how i didn't kill my back while taking a shit when i was on it is still amazing to me. but, the view from the hotel wasn't bad. we were in The Flats, so it was a noisy time, not only from the clubs but the damn train tracks.
the next day we had breakfast at a really good local deli and then made our way to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. after we found some parking relatively close, we made our way in.
if you have followed this blog for any length of time, you know how much i absolutely LOVE music. so, you can imagine just how pissed i was when halfway through the museum my camera started to die. it's a cruel fucking world my friends. below are some of my favorite pictures. i took a ton of them.
the last photo i took was when we left, looking out to the water.
we went back to the hotel to cool down and get ready for the baseball game. we had a parking pass for the game, so that made things really easy. i do like the setup in Cleveland with the baseball stadium and basketball arena right next to each other. i'm not sure what kinds of pictures my sister got from the games or walking around the stadiums. the Yankees got torched on Friday night, losing 10-2. yikes. the fireworks after the game were good at least.
Saturday we got up sort of early and went to the market on the west side of the city. breakfast there was ok. i figured out i don't like that much paprika on potatoes. i think i tasted paprika for the rest of the day. the market itself was pretty cool but it was sensory overload for my brain. after my sister got her coffee, we went back to the hotel to get ready for an afternoon game.
my sister has used Uber in the past and had no problems with it. that was about to change. the driver couldn't find us for anything. and once he did, he was in this little sedan. i was immediately pissed as i knew i would be aching after this car ride. well, the Ron White look alike driving us had no clue where to drop us off near the stadium. once he figured that out after a couple u-turns, mom and i had a really fun time crawling out of the vehicle. thankfully, the game went much better than the car ride. the Yankees came from behind a few times to win 7-6 in 11 innings.
after the game, we decided to walk to the Hard Rock Cafe, which was a few blocks down from the stadium. the service there was atrocious. at least my burger was decent. i believe my sister is still waiting on her salad. while we were there, i noticed Rob Refsnyder of the Yankees came in. i don't bother famous people when i see them in public. i do understand why the Yankees GM has doubts about him. he's a slight man to say the least. but, he got the same burger i got, so he has decent taste.
the Uber ride after dinner was good. the driver had a SUV, so that made it much easier. by this time, the rain was getting closer, so my back was shot. now, at the hotel we were at, there is two clubs and a restaurant in the same building. nothing quite like bass thumping all the way up to the 5th floor to make you feel like you were back in your 20's again.
now, while in the hotel room, i think i wrote 13 poems. most of them were while i was looking out the window. i typed them up when we got home yesterday. i really think a couple of them are great.
the drive back to my sister's was mostly uneventful. we had to separate some of things we got as we basically packed up as quickly as we could to leave on Sunday. i do like the fact that we really didn't eat at any chains while we were up there. we tried to do "local" as best as possible. the drive from my sister's to the house was pretty easy. we got back in time to see the finals of Euro 2016.
Euro 2016 Update:
i was sort of bummed to see CR7 go off with an injury in the first half. sadly, so was France. their play really dipped like they just knew they had the game won already. whoops. Portugal scored in the 109th minute to win the game 1-0. easily, the biggest win for Portugal EVER. and quite frankly, they deserved it.
the Yankees won yesterday 11-7 to take 3 out of 4 from Cleveland. that gets the Yankees back at .500 at the All Star break. i do hope the Cleveland fans know they will have to be much better if a team like the Yankees can come in and whip them like they did. i really laughed at how many fuckers in that town think just because the Cavs won a title, now the Indians will. sorry people, but LeBron doesn't play baseball.
the Sunday night shows were good. Big Brother was pretty much what i thought would happen. i did get to see the Thursday live show while up in Cleveland, so the Sunday show was a little catch up for me.
Ray Donovan was really good. Roadies was pretty good as well. the winner of the night was The Night Of. i decided to get some sleep and watch that this afternoon. holy shit, it's great. i can't wait to see how this show turns out. the first episode had a little bit of everything. hopefully the rest of the episodes will as well.
mom and i went out to lunch this afternoon. first time i had ever been to Red Robin. where the fuck has this place been all my life. this one just went in about 2 months ago. first one in this area. i absolutely loved it. i'll be back, for sure.
i managed to catch up on all 362 emails that were waiting for me. i kept my promise of not getting online at all while i was away. told my mother i struck it rich today. made 80 cents on a pork survey. the big time is right around the corner.
enjoy some music:

i will probably catch up on some more things on the DVR tonight after i watch Monday Night Raw.
i will probably get some poems ready to send out later this week. i have a doctors appointment on Wednesday and i'll probably have to go with mom when she takes the car in on Friday.
the check engine light came on while we were driving back from Cleveland yesterday. it never started flashing, so i figured it was ok to drive. but, we had to have the windows down as i wasn't going to press our luck by running the air conditioner. i think i drove fast enough that we stayed somewhat cool.
that's all for me kids. i did enjoy my first vacation in over 13 years. a big thank you to my sister and my mother as this was my 40th birthday present. i probably have some more poems about the trip to write. those will trickle out for a few months probably.
i hope everyone had a wonderful time while i was away. of course, if you are a human and actually give a shit about humanity, the events of Baton Rouge, Minnesota and Dallas should still be on your mind. if you don't give a shit and enjoy fucking chaos, live it up while you can. as for the rest of us, it still fucking amazes me how much shit doesn't change in this world.

i went outside to get the mail and the empty trash can and just happened to look up to my left. maybe one of the darkest clouds i have ever seen. so much for feeding the birds before it was supposed to rain. hopefully the satellite is back up by the time Wales plays Portugal this afternoon.
Euro 2016 Update:
the semifinals start today. Wales vs. Portugal. winner goes to the final on Sunday. tomorrow Germany plays France. i'm hoping to watch that from a bar up in Cleveland.
the New York Yankees played one of their best games of the season last night, winning 9-0. hopefully that doesn't continue. 3 of them amazingly made the All-Star team. i'm hoping 2 of the 3 of them get traded before the end of this month. they play again tonight in Chicago. i won't be watching.
Deadliest Catch was really good last night. i'm not sure i would be that calm with a fire at sea.
Maya & Marty was fucking hilarious last night. i laughed really, really hard at times, to the point of tears.
enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Any Given Wednesday, Lucha Underground and Tyrant. i'll watch NXT and the start of the WWE Cruiserweight Classic tonight on WWE Network. can you say clusterfuck?
looks like Manchester United has a new signing.
i'm so happy to see Jose Mourinho rebuilding the midfield. it's been needed for way too many years.
i listened to Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast this morning. excellent as always.
i did watch The Final Deletion last night on Impact Wrestling. it was bizarre as much as it was funny. probably the best thing TNA has put out in years. and i really think all the credit is to Matt and Jeff Hardy. hopefully TNA will be smart enough to put the whole thing on YouTube so everyone can watch it. think Sharknado and backyard wrestling finally meet each other. truly classic.
hopefully i will get all packed by tonight. i guess the plan is to leave in the morning. pick up my sister along the way and the first stop will be A Christmas Story house. i'm bringing my camera, so i'm hoping to get pictures of everything. hard to fucking imagine this will be my first vacation in 13 years.
i don't plan on being online at all during my time away. i will be back blogging sometime on Monday. so, if you need to get a hold of me, you're shit out of luck. i do hope everyone has a great upcoming weekend and hopefully i will have plenty to share come next week.

i had a hard time sleeping last night. i tried to do it without the fan on or any music playing, so i could sort of get used to what it's going to be like in the hotel later this week. needless to say, after 45 minutes of tossing and turning, the fan was on and the music was playing. fuck it.
the New York Yankees got beat 8-2 yesterday. thankfully, i didn't watch past the second inning. they play the White Sox again tonight. i'm hoping they go on a long losing streak so the dumb fucks in the front office will finally realize it's time to start trading off the veterans for some youth.
i think one person wrote about Monday Night Raw perfectly last night. it was really good but so god damn long that you couldn't enjoy it. Kevin Owens once again stole the show for me. and i really enjoyed that the Wyatt Family is back to being weird ass monsters again. the show just drags at times, mostly because of the 3 hours it has to fill.

i've heard all the buzz about the wrestling match between Matt and Jeff Hardy that is on tonight. i have rarely watched TNA over the years, but i think i might check this one out.
i did a little poetry work last night. i should have a round of submissions ready to go when i get back from my little vacation to Cleveland.
i did watch some of the NASA coverage last night. it's amazing to me how much more i like science now than when i was in school. it must have been the shitty teachers.
i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade this morning. i'll post the links below in the music section.

i don't know if i'm going to enjoy it or not, as it is raining here and is supposed to for most of the day. but, i hope all of the rest of you get to enjoy some fireworks, food, drink and whatever the fuck else makes a great 4th of July for you.
the New York Yankees salvaged the 3rd game of the series with San Diego by winning 6-3 yesterday. Mark Teixeira hit the 400th and 401st home runs of his career in the game. they play today in Chicago against the White Sox.
Ray Donovan was excellent last night. it's good to see Lisa Bonet back on television. that reminds me of many dirty dreams in my youth.
Roadies was really good last night.
Big Brother was pretty funny last night. i laughed really hard when the one side of the house figured out they were lied to. have any of you dumb fucks actually watched this show before?
enjoy some music:

nothing on the DVR tonight. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.
i figure i'll probably watch the hot dog eating contest at some point today as well.
i just saw that Kevin Durant is going to sign with Golden State. if you can't beat them, join them. hopefully everyone gives him the same amount of shit people gave LeBron for leaving Cleveland to go win in Miami.
Euro 2016 Update:
France beat Iceland yesterday 5-2. France started off on fire, something they hadn't done all tournament. they were up 4-0 at halftime. i'll give Iceland credit for at least making the second half watchable. they will go home and be heroes forever now. so the semifinals are set. Wales vs. Portugal and Germany vs. France. 2 games that should be very interesting.
it looks like my new chapbook is getting closer to completion. i can't wait to share the news with all of you. it's with a publisher i've always wanted to work with.
