a cold winter wind...

 we had this spinning chime up by our garage. i say had, because the fucking wind brought it down today. when i woke up this morning, the feels like temperature was 8 degrees. good times.

i did send out some poems today. 5 to Horror Sleaze Trash (already heard back from them); 4 to Dumpster Fire Press and 1 poem (broken into 5 parts) to Synchronized Chaos. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.

the New York Rangers won last night over Washington, 4-2. funny, they get rid of one defenseman and another one gets hurt and now suddenly, the defense is playing better. imagine that.

the satellite was out for most of the night. i watched the hockey game on my phone. right around 10:30 last night, the weather cleared enough for the satellite to start working again.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

the season finale of Cari & Jemele Won't Stick to Sports was excellent last night.

Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.

some afternoon snow...

 i had a choice today... either ice my back or put some poems out. i chose to ice my back and got a 2 hour nap out of it. good times. of course, that means the poems are going out tomorrow.

i got the mail today right before it started to snow again. i have no clue how much we are supposed to get. all i know, is it is currently fucking with the satellite feed. of course.

today was a day to remind myself that life is nothing but a slow death...

 i wrote a poem last night that i broke into five parts. it was the first time i have done that in years. i'm doing my next round of submissions either tomorrow or Friday.

the first two stops on the grocery shopping day were fine. i went to Rite-Aid to get a ton of stuff for mom. they didn't have any baseball cards there. so, i went to the one where i got lucky the last time, near the Kroger i go to. more on the baseball cards i found in a bit. as for Kroger. you would think a damn blizzard is coming or something. fuck, it was way too damn crowded for my liking, especially in a fucking pandemic. but, i got everything on the list, so we are stocked for weeks in my opinion.

as for the baseball cards, i paid $13 for 3 Fairfield boxes. i got 1 autographed card out of one box and all told, probably close to $50 worth of cards. not bad.

the Dayton Flyers started off like shit yesterday at Duquesne. and honestly, when the score was 15-3, i turned the damn thing off. the final score of 69-64 does no justice to the fact the game was never close.

 so, i spent this Groundhog's Day going to the bank to make a deposit and then going to Big Lots to see if they had any baseball cards. i had a 20% off coupon.

i got 4 packs of baseball cards. i found 2 short prints in the 2020 Topps Heritage packs i got. those are worth what i paid for all 4 packs. so, that made me happy.

i guess the groundhog saw his shadow so we have six more weeks of winter. who gives a shit.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.

The Investigation was awesome last night.

the New York Rangers came from behind last night and beat Pittsburgh, 3-1. addition by subtraction worked last night.

 we got a little more snow and i don't think the wind chill got out of the teens today. good times.

i did get my baseball cards i ordered today. i paid (with shipping, tax, etc.) $31 for the box and i probably got close to $50 worth of cards in it. that made me pretty happy.

WWE Royal Rumble last night was excellent. i picked the winner of the women's match correctly and i was slightly shocked when Edge won the men's royal rumble. but, that should make things interesting.

the USMNT defeated TNT last night 7-0. i only got to see the highlights, but i am encouraged with what i have seen so far.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Pittsburgh. so, Tony DeAngelo cleared waivers and the team is currently trying to trade him. the GM has stated publicly he will never play for the Rangers again. this makes me happy. Kaapo Kakko is on the COVID list but he is feeling fine. the lineup tonight will have a new forward and new defenseman in it. i'm hoping the addition by subtraction works and they find a way to win tonight.

we did get some snow...

 i think we got around 3 to 4 inches of snow last night. not nearly the amount that some were saying. now, it might rain a little later and then go back to snow, so that's going to be sloppy as fuck if that happens.

Manchester United and Arsenal played a 0-0 draw yesterday. that's 5 points dropped in United's last 2 games. that's how you find a way to lose a championship.

the Dayton Flyers defeated Rhode Island yesterday, 67-56. Dayton was trailing at halftime by 3 points and started the second half on fire. what impressed me the most yesterday was Dayton's defense. they held Rhode Island scoreless for the first 12 minutes of the second half i think. 

the New York Rangers lost in OT last night against Pittsburgh, 5-4. that's 5 fucking games in a row the Rangers have blown a 3rd period lead. i guess Tony DeAngleo  and Alexandear Georgiev got into after the game. from what i have heard, Tony called him a commie and AG punched in the face. this morning, the Rangers put Tony on waivers and i am more than fucking happy his time with the Rangers is hopefully over forever now.

WWE Backstage was really good last night.

 the "experts" are saying we are supposed to get anywhere from 4 to 8 inches of snow this weekend. that would be way more than we have had for all of winter so far. i asked my mother if she needed anything today as i was going to get it today rather than try this weekend. she said no, so i guess it is time to get ready to see if these motherfuckers are actually going to be correct.

 my day was actually going pretty good. i found plenty of baseball cards today (more on that in a bit), got all the grocery shopping done in time to get home to see Manchester United play. and then everything went to shit.

let's get this shit out of the way. Manchester United was playing the worst team in the Premier League today, knowing they needed a victory to go back into first place. so, of course, they play down to their competition and fucking lost, 2-1. kill me now.

i picked up a box of 2020 Topps Heritage High Numbers today at Meijer. got some new sheets for the cards while i was there as well. the Rite-Aid where i live had no cards at all. so, i went to the Rite-Aid where the grocery store i use is at and holy fuck, i got 2 Fairfield boxes of baseball cards and 1 Fairfield box of football cards. now, both of the baseball card boxes had relics in them. the football box had some really good cards in it. and the Topps Heritage box had some really good rookie cards in it and one short print. so, all in all, i think i got my money's worth today. 

the New York Rangers lost last night to Buffalo, 3-2. i'm hoping one of these nights they actually just stop thinking and start playing and let their talent come through.

the Dayton Flyers lead from start to finish yesterday against Saint Louis. they won 76-71. it was Dayton's first win against a ranked opponent since 2015.

such a dreary day...

 mom wasn't feeling well today, so she cancelled her appointment for her injection into her back. so, that opened up my day completely and of course, depression said you aren't going to do shit today. now, much to his surprise, i did write and type up 5 poems. so, i did get something accomplished today.

i had to go into town to the post office today as i had some bills that i needed to mail. any other fucking day, the mail is never here before noon. and of course, the day i had to write some checks, it was here a little after 11 AM. fuck me.

the New York Rangers play tonight in Buffalo. the injury bug has hit the team, so i'm interested to see what the new lines are going to look like tonight. hopefully, they can get a fucking win.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight at Saint Louis. it is their first game in over a month. so, i'm hoping Saint Louis is rusty as hell and Dayton feels like making a statement tonight considering the ass whipping they took at VCU. and considering Saint Louis is ranked in the top 25, it is one of the few chances Dayton has left this season to get a signature victory.

too much dysfunction

 when it gets really icy out here, my lazy ass just drives the Highlander down the driveway to get the mail or paper. i have no desire to walk in this shit and slip and fall. my back is bad enough already.

Manchester United defeated Liverpool yesterday 3-2 in the FA Cup. that made me very happy.

the New York Rangers pissed away two different leads last night and lost to the Penguins, 3-2. the kids are playing pretty good. the vets aren't doing much at all, in my opinion. i think the whole damn team tries to pass too much. time for the K.I.S.S. theory to be executed i suppose.

i did watch most of both NFL games yesterday. as a Saints fan, i truly hope the Chiefs beat Tampa Bay to death in the Super Bowl.

Shameless was very good last night.

i have to take mom to get her injection for her back at noon tomorrow. i'm really hoping the roads are at the very least cleaned off and the fucking parking lot isn't a skating rink. i told mom with me having a phone now, she can text me and i can pick her up at the door. that makes it much easier, especially in the winter.
