last day of February and the sun is out like it is a fucking spring day. i'm not complaining though. i see better in my sunglasses anyway.
i wrote 3 poems today while my mom was doing her physical therapy. i typed them up when we got back home. i think they are pretty good.
i did get some baseball cards in the mail today. got 100 in some unopened packs that i bought on Wish.com. there were plenty of hall of famers in the packs. so, i probably made back what i spent on them.
i also got a money order today for some cards. i'm really happy my friend took advantage of this deal. $25 (postage paid) for 100 baseball cards. all of the cards are either rookies, all stars or hall of famers. if anybody reading this would be interested in this deal, email me and let me know.
one of my Amazon.com orders just showed up.
the New York Rangers lost to Vancouver last night, 5-2. the Rangers looked ragged last night and a bit tired. of course, 3 games in 4 nights can do that to you.
the season finale of Euphoria last night was really good.
the season finale of The Righteous Gemstones was fucking crazy last night.
the season finale of Somebody Somewhere was very good last night.
Last Week Tonight was BRILLIANT as usual.
Billions was very good last night.
Super Pumped: The Battle for UBER was good last night. i love the cast of the show, so i should enjoy this one.
Power Book IV: Force was excellent last night.

on the DVR tonight will be Monday Night Raw and two episodes of Better Things.
i did listen to episode 384 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can hear that by going here:
i will be a busy boy tomorrow morning. between going to the bank and the post office, and most likely the local grocery store since we are low on Equal, i will be running around like a chicken with its head cut off. good times.
i should be on here in the afternoon tomorrow.
i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i heard back from the fine folks at The Beatnik Cowboy on my poetry submission from a few weeks ago. my poems "with plenty of whiskey" and "the best kind of neighbor" have been accepted for publication online. my poem "you deserve it" has been accepted for publication in the print issue.
it was bad enough that yesterday was the 20th anniversary of my stepfather's death. nothing really went the way i wanted, at all. one of those fucking frustrating days that makes you realize my 8 year old self was right. let's get this day of shit going.
first up was Manchester United. they pissed away chance after chance and ended up in a 0-0 draw against Watford. mind you, Watford is 19th in the league. i should have known what the rest of the day had in store for me from there.
the Dayton Flyers pissed away a 15 point lead in the second half. now, shit like that happens. it shouldn't against a team as bad as LaSalle, but it does. what killed me was that Anthony Grant never called one fucking timeout as the lead was dwindling down. i thought he had learned his lessons, but i was mistaken. we are now back to the Coach Grant that doesn't fucking know how to make in game adjustments. the final score was 62-60. so, any chance Dayton had to make the NCAA tournament without winning the A10 tournament are dead and gone.
the New York Rangers lost at Pittsburgh yesterday, 1-0. what kills me anytime the Rangers play the Penguins is the amount of cheap shit Crosby is allowed to get away with. there's one prick i wouldn't mind seeing die on the ice. hopefully, the Rangers will win tonight at home against Vancouver.
thankfully, the Columbus Crew won yesterday, 4-0.
7 of the top 10 college basketball teams lost yesterday. that was the most top 10 teams to lose on the same day in the history of college basketball.
Saturday Night Live was excellent last night.

the weather is supposed to get better this week. i'll believe that when i see it.
i hope everyone had a better Saturday than i did. and here's hoping your Sunday will be even better.
i will probably be on here tomorrow after i get back from taking mom to her physical therapy appointment.

i woke up this morning to the trees and grass just covered in ice. amazingly, the driveway wasn't that bad at all. i was able to get down to the street for the paper and mail without having to worry. mom didn't go to physical therapy today. she's not feeling well and with the amount of snot she's bringing up, i'm pretty sure she made the right call.
so, of course, i've been watching the videos of the war out of Ukraine. i'm hoping the capital doesn't fall, but i'm also a realist. i wouldn't put it past the Russians to kill the elected president of Ukraine on live television. god knows all Putin wants is his puppet government to run the country the way he wants. and i did see the stories about the Baltic nations wondering if they are next. that answer would be yes. this motherfucker is hell bent on reforming the Soviet Union before his puppet takes the throne. i swear, this is why i miss the threat of assassination of political figures. when that went away, these assholes knew there were no consequences for their actions. personally, i hope the sanctions cripple all those rich fucks in Russia and makes them obsolete from the world. now, i know they have more money than any fuck can imagine. and, i know the banks probably will play both sides of this because they love money more than they have morals (i know, i just choked on my laughter as well). i'm not a big fan of the USA getting involved in this shit, but i thought this was what the C.I.A. was supposed to take care of. oh well. keep fighting for your freedom. never let anyone take it from you. and i do hope the Molotov cocktails come in handy.
the New York Rangers defeated Washington last night, 4-1. that made me happy.
Young Sheldon was pretty funny last night.
United States of Al was pretty good last night.
B Positive was hilarious last night.

i'm guessing i will be on here tomorrow before Manchester United plays in the morning. that is my hope at least.
if not then, i will definitely be on here before the Dayton Flyers play tomorrow afternoon.
i hope everyone has a great weekend. i hope the people of Ukraine get some help from NATO or who the fuck ever and fight off the Russians. and i honestly hope more famous Russians come out against the war but more importantly, come out against Putin. not doing that and just saying no to war isn't enough.

i have friends, fellow writers, etc. that live in Ukraine. to say i'm a bit pissed and worried at the moment would be an understatement. what fuckhead Putin is trying to do is recreate the Soviet Union. he wants his legacy as a former piece of shit KGB spy, to be one of the great Russian leaders who rebuilt the communist empire. this is such a step backward from where this fucking world should be going, it pisses me the fuck off. now granted, i am not the biggest fucking fan of capitalism, but i am a fucking fan of freedom. so, anything we can do to support the FREE people of Ukraine, we should do. one example is what i just did:
to all the readers of this blog in Europe, Asia, shit wherever, please open your fucking mind and hearts and realize what is going on. i hope we don't have the precursor of World War 3 on our hands, but to be honest, aren't we fucking due? please stay safe, resist and never be afraid to die for freedom.
now back to regularly scheduled programming...
the Dayton Flyers won last night over UMass, 82-61. when the offense is clicking and the defense is dictating tempo, Dayton is a fun team to watch.
the USWNT defeated Iceland last night, 5-0. that was more like it ladies. congrats on winning the SheBelieves Cup.
AEW was great last night.
both episodes of Snowfall last night were excellent.
Miesha won Celebrity Big Brother last night. Carson won America's favorite houseguest. best part was probably watching Todrick learn everyone knows he's a fucking asshole.
I Can See Your Voice was good last night.
Batwoman was excellent last night. the finale is next week.

NXT was really good last night.

Manchester United plays in the Champions League this afternoon. i'm hoping i will have the grocery shopping done by then.
the Dayton Flyers play tonight at home against UMass. Dayton will be seeking their 20th win of the season. they need to keep on winning if they want a chance to get part of the regular season title in the A10.
i'd love to go to the game tonight, but i doubt i will be able to squeeze it in with everything else i have going on today.
the USWNT takes on Iceland tonight in the finale of the SheBelieves Cup. the USA needs to win tonight to win the cup.
i have 4, possibly 5 stores to go today to get all of the grocery shopping done. good times.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.
Celebrity Big Brother was good last night. the final three are Todrick, Miesha and Cynthia.

i just got my laundry done, so that was my big goal for today.
now, i need to get the trash out and figure out what is for dinner.
i should be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays in the Champions League. if not then, it will be early in the morning, before i do the grocery shopping.
it has been warm the last couple of days. that will end tonight as it is supposed to get down to 30. right now it is 56 degrees. fun times.

and your whatever the fuck i wanted you to see video of the day:
my bad back has been really fucking with me the last couple of days. so, i had a little time this morning to put some ice on it and catch a nap. well, that nap extended into the afternoon. i woke up about 15 minutes before i had to drive my mother to her physical therapy session. this is why i keep my hair short. no need to fuck with it if i am in a rush. we got there on time, as usual. it was warm enough today that i probably didn't need anything more than a t-shirt on. i did write 4 poems today while mom was in her session. those are pretty good. i typed them up when i got home. i did have an interesting conversation with a guy at the facility. he stopped and asked if i was really... i had my New Orleans Saints mask on, so i knew exactly what he was talking about. i said i am and we bumped fists. he then started talking about the team and i told him i am fine with Dennis Allen as coach, fine with keeping the offensive coordinator the same, which means the offense should stay the same. they just need a few tweaks here and there, Mickey needs to work his magic with the cap and they simply need to find the right QB. he agreed. he is from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. that is the one thing i do love about Saints fans. black, white, whatever, it is always about the team.
the NBA All-Star game last night was really good. Steph went nuts from the 3 point line and of course, LeBron James hit the winning shot.
i did watch a good bit of the Daytona 500 yesterday. they had some crazy fucking crashes. the finish was pretty damn close as well.
the USWNT won yesterday over New Zealand, 5-0. helps when the other team gives you three own goals.
the New York Rangers won in Ottawa yesterday, 2-1.
Celebrity Big Brother was good last night. there will be a double eviction tonight. i'm hoping for fireworks.
Power Book IV: Force was great last night.
Billions was really good last night.

so, i got what i guess i can call some decent sleep last night. my arms weren't killing me the entire time. and i got what i needed to get done this morning (put the dishes away, make coffee) in time to watch Manchester United play at Leeds.
when United went up 2-0 by halftime, i was pretty pleased. of course, by 10 minutes into the second half, it was 2-2. thankfully, Fred of all people scored the game winner. Anthony Elanga added in the insurance and United won 4-2.
the Dayton Flyers won yesterday at Saint Joseph's, 74-62.
Celebrity Big Brother was just some of the never before seen moments from this season last night. the season will thankfully be over on Wednesday.
WWE Elimination Chamber was pretty good yesterday. my hunch was correct, as i figured one of the main events of WrestleMania would be Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns, title vs. title. i didn't see the Bobby Lashley injury angle coming, but it makes sense.
NBA Saturday Night was good for the most part. the dunk contest sort of dragged on, mostly because i think most of the guys were trying to do dunks they can't do. at least Obi Toppin did dunks he knew he could make. and he won, finally.

AEW Rampage was really good last night.
Celebrity Big Brother was good last night. Carson was evicted.

i'm pretty sure i will be watching the dunk contest and three point shootout tonight as part of the NBA All Star weekend.

i'm very interested to see the matches today at WWE Elimination Chamber. this should set up some of the matches for WrestleMania.

first off, i had a conversation with an old friend/lover last night. it is kind of shocking at times what happens when you don't hear from someone for a few months. glad you are still alive. we shall be meeting again soon.
so, my eye doctor's appointment went well today. my right eye is a little worse, but not bad enough to need new glasses. and my new insurance is certainly coming in handy. this appointment would usually cost me $45 or more in the past. today it was $29. the prescription i got from Rite Aid today was $12. it always cost me $30 when i got it at Kroger. so, i'm really fucking happy all the bullshit with my insurance seems to be figured out now.
the New York Rangers lost to Detroit last night in a shootout, 3-2. just one of those frustrating as fuck nights.
the USWNT had a 0-0 draw last night with Czech Republic. i am all for the team getting younger. but, the kids need to understand the standard that has been put down for them. last night didn't come fucking close to that standard at all.
NXT UK was really good last night.
Vice News Tonight had two good shows this week. the show comes back in March.
