so, the neck gets better and the back gets worse...

i spent most of yesterday in my massage chair, trying to loosen up my neck. eventually, i did get it loose, but of course, my back was then hurting. it never fails. i got both calmed down enough to get about 5 hours of sleep last night. good times.

i turned off the Dayton Flyers game yesterday when they were down by 22 against VCU. i did follow the score and when Dayton started making their comeback, i never turned back to the game. superstition was running the show now. Dayton did come all the way back but of course, ended up losing to VCU, 69-68. that pretty much eliminates Dayton from having a chance to win the conference now. so, i guess the goal will be to finish in the top 4. that should be doable, even though you can tell they badly miss Trey Landers. and given the brace he was wearing on his shoulder yesterday, i have no clue when he will be back.

i did watch most of the NBA All-Star Saturday Night festivities. the slam dunk contest was better than the last few years. i loved that Steph Curry lost the 3 point shootout and i always love when a big man wins the skills competition.

Saturday Night Live was pretty good last night.

ROH was very good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Total Bellas, True Detective, Crashing, High Maintenance, Last Week Tonight, Shameless, Black Monday and SMILF. i'll be watching WWE Elimination Chamber for most of the evening on WWE Network.

i doubt i watch much of the NBA All-Star game tonight or the Daytona 500 this afternoon.

the New York Rangers play this afternoon at Pittsburgh. i'd love to see the Rangers win today, but i'm not expecting them to.

sometimes the pills stop working

so today is the second day in a row my neck feels like shit. i was hoping the pill i take for the pinched nerve in my neck 3 times a day would work last night when i added a little heat on my neck. no luck. i basically had to drink alcohol last night to sleep at all. less than 5 measly hours. needless to say, i'm not going to the basketball game today.

the New York Rangers won last night in Buffalo, 6-2.

NJPW was pretty good last night.

WOW was good last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher was excellent last night.

2 Dope Queens was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live and ROH. i'll probably watch the NBA All-Star Saturday Night events for most of the night (3 point contest, dunk contest, etc.)

the Dayton Flyers play today at home against VCU. Dayton is going to be missing Trey Landers, who hurt his shoulder in practice this week. i'll watch the game from home, but i figure VCU will probably win.

sometimes the pain starts at the base of the neck...

i usually can know right when i wake up in the morning, how the day is going to be for me physically. i don't think i have had a good night of sleep in over 30 years. i know if i wake up in pain, it's going to be a long day. today was one of those days. but, like most of my Fridays anymore, there was shit to get done. and i know one thing, the older i get, the harder it is for me to still find pleasure in the pain.

i did get the 9 poems i wrote yesterday at mom's physical therapy typed up this morning. i really liked most of them. that puts me at 54 poems through Feb. 15th. that's a pretty insane pace.

the grocery store today wasn't too bad. my neck was killing me for most of the time in there. and i'm sure there were some beautiful women in there, but my pain wasn't exactly allowing me to browse. i kept everything under $100, at least for the food. my prescription was $30 and a bottle of gin and Jack Daniels Honey ran me over $40. but, i need to keep the bar stocked.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

Lip Sync Battle was pretty good last night.

Will & Grace was hilarious last night.

Gotham was fucking great last night, especially the ending.

the weather has shifted back to winter today after being almost 50 degrees yesterday. i guess the water problem here has been solved for now. of course, people were still buying bottled water at the store like a fucking hurricane was coming or something.

part of me really wants to go to the Dayton Flyers game tomorrow against VCU. part of me also knows that with this weather change, there's a decent chance i'm going to feel like shit tomorrow and just watch the game on television. hopefully, i wake up tomorrow and feel better. (stop laughing)

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

happy valentine's day

i think for the majority of my adult life, i haven't been in a relationship with anyone on Valentine's Day. now, while i probably have saved thousands of dollars, i'm not exactly happy that loneliness has become a natural feeling for me. but, shit happens.

so, i guess sometime after i got my shower done yesterday, there was a huge water main break in the county i live in. the whole country was under a boil advisory. shit, i think it still is. i'm hoping this is a wake up call to all these assholes around here that the infrastructure needs to be fucking updated badly. of course, when you are surrounded by Republicans, they want shit but they don't want to pay for it. i will always maintain that people would pay higher taxes if they actually knew what the money was being used for. god forbid, people would have to pay more but got free higher education, free healthcare, better roads and an infrastructure that wouldn't fail every time there is a big rain storm. but that will never happen because these assholes still believe that capitalism isn't fucking them over. fucking fools.

NXT was really good last night.

NXT UK was really good yesterday as well.

The Masked Singer was crazy last night. another week i was correct again.

the finale of Celebrity Big Brother went the way i was expecting once Ricky made the wrong choice at the end. i'm not sure why he thought he could win against Tamar. and i wasn't surprised when she got every vote at the end. i'm really happy Tom Green won the favorite house guest.

You're the Worst was hilarious last night.

Drop the Mic was very good last night.

a howling wind and how women fall in love with me in two days...

today has been one of those days where the cynical bastard inside of me is laughing his head off. i've had 3 different women tell me they are in love with me today. mind you, none of these women have ever talked to me or even met me in person yet. i have told all 3 of them, there is no need to set yourself up for disappointment. i suppose, time will tell.

the wind has been howling since last night. it was so bad last night, i put the trash back inside the garage. thankfully, i got up early enough this morning that i got it back down to the curb in time to be picked up. we only got a dusting of snow, so that's good. but the windchill is probably in the teens or worse. good times.

the New York Rangers lost last night at Winnipeg, 4-3.

not exactly what i was hoping for...

so when Manchester United started the game today, i was really hoping the positive momentum they have gained in the last few weeks was going to propel them. instead, PSG came out and showed that United still has a ways to go when competing against the top clubs in the world. it doesn't help either when the ref is giving out cards left and right in the first half. PSG won the game 2-0. those two away goals are huge when you think about it. but, when United goes go to Paris for the second leg, i'm hoping they play with some urgency, knowing their Champions League lives are at stake. i do like what Ole said after the match though. when told about the mountain in front of the team now, he replied they are there to be climbed.

we didn't get as much rain as i thought we were going to get today. but, it has also turned over to snow before i thought it was going to as well. thankfully, i got the trash out before it got too bad.

i thought Monday Night Raw was ok in spots last night. i don't want to shit on the end of it, when Vince took Becky Lynch out of the main event against Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania and inserted Charlotte Flair instead. i want to see what happens over the next few weeks. i think i know where it is going (triple threat match) but i'm hoping it leads to something bigger (power struggle between Vince and HHH perhaps). most of the show was forgettable, which is sad considering they have the Elimination Chamber ppv coming up on Sunday.

Celebrity Big Brother last night was just a recap episode of the season. the finale is on Wednesday.

i did get those 12 poems i wrote typed up this morning. i really like a few of them. i probably should get another round of submissions ready here soon.

and then came the rain...

before i get into another rant about how the rain fucks with my entire being, i have some poetry news to get to...

i finally send out the poems i talked about last week. i sent out 22 poems earlier today. 3 each to Red Eft Review and The Beatnik Cowboy; 5 each to Synchronized Chaos (already accepted) and Fourth & Sycamore; 6 poems to Record Magazine. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.

i also wrote 12 poems today while mom was doing her physical therapy. i'll probably type those up sometime tonight.

the New York Rangers won last night over Toronto, 4-1. the story of the game was the Rangers backup goalie stopping 55 fucking shots on his 23rd birthday.

the Grammy Awards were pretty good last night. a little long, but pretty good.

True Detective was fucking great last night.

Crashing was pretty funny last night.

High Maintenance was great last night.

Shameless was excellent last night.

Black Monday was fucking hilarious last night.

SMILF was pretty good last night.

Total Bellas was good last night.

and the snow returns...

thankfully, i got the paper this morning before it started to snow. we're only supposed to get a couple inches of snow. and then maybe some ice tonight. and then it all turns to rain tomorrow. that should do wonders for the flooding in the area. thankfully, mom doesn't have physical therapy until the afternoon tomorrow.

the Dayton Flyers took Rhode Island out behind the barn yesterday and beat the living shit out of them. when i turned on the game after i got the blog done yesterday, Dayton was up 15-0. holy shit. after the game the coach said he emphasized to the players they needed to start fast. what a fucking concept. maybe try that with every game. Dayton won yesterday 77-48. they are off until Saturday when they take on VCU at home. i'm hoping i actually get to go to that game.

Won't You Be My Neighbor was excellent last night. seeing all those old clips of Mr. Rogers certainly brought back some memories.

Saturday Night Live was pretty good last night.

ROH was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Toronto. i'm expecting them to lose again.

i did watch a little bit of Manchester City destroying Chelsea this morning. i think City won 6-0. that means Manchester United is now in 4th place in the Premier League. i'm not sure how Ole isn't going to get the permanent role of manager at United now. especially if the club does great in the next few weeks (PSG, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, etc.) i would have to believe the job is his.

now i have a decision to make. catch up on sleep or send some poems out before the Grammy Awards start tonight. knowing me, i'll probably take a book out with me to my massage chair, start reading and fall asleep.

i guess you'll know by tomorrow's blog what happened. i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday is even better.

letting go of the past...

i know there was a reason i didn't check my emails yesterday. when i did this morning, i knew exactly why. there was an email from the former muse, my former best friend and wannabe dominatrix, basically telling me why i fucked up by ending our friendship. i kindly reminded her she ended the friendship by declining to ever treat me as an equal in the friendship and i have removed all negativity from my life and she played a large role in that. i then thanked her for wishing me a happy birthday, which i was joking about because she never did in the 15 years we were friends. and i know she only emailed me because she, for some fucking reason, thought i would email her on her birthday. some people think way too highly of themselves. but, as i told her, which was my largest gripe with her, i wished her the best life and all the love she needs, which she never once wished for me. and somehow, i'm in the wrong. oh, i wish i could live one fucking day in that land of make believe.

and the black woman from yesterday was a fucking catfish situation. i figured it was, but at least i got some nudity out of it.

the grocery store today was a little nuts. the rain stopped last night and it got fucking cold as hell. whatever water that was left was frozen solid. thankfully, the roads around here weren't that bad. it was probably 50 degrees colder today than yesterday. i missed a golden chance today to do some flirting. this woman mentioned something about my cart and i laughed and of course, walked away. this is why i have always wished i would have just killed myself when i first thought of it at 8 years of age. imagine all the fucking pain i would have been spared.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

time to build an ark i guess

it has rained all day today. and by rain, i mean it has fucking poured so bad there is some flooding. it wasn't that fun driving mom to her physical therapy considering a few of the roads were covered with water and the highway was full of trucks going slow. joy. thankfully, i got her there on time with no problems, other than the parking lot was flooded more or less. nothing quite like having wet shoes and socks for the next few hours. i drop mom off at the door, so she doesn't have too far to walk.

i got 16 poems written while she was in physical therapy today. i have no clue when i will get those typed up.

the rain and all the misery it brings...

it rained all night and most of today. and joy, there's probably another couple of inches coming. as i told my mother this afternoon, all we are missing in this house are the burnt spoons. it's scary that i think she is starting to get all my heroin references. this has been one of those days of pure fucking misery.

i've spent most of the afternoon talking to women from France. i figure it won't be long until i figure out most of them are Russian bots. good times.

i did do a little poetry work this afternoon as well. i know where my next batch of poems are going. more on that in the next few days.

the Dayton Flyers got whipped last night in Saint Louis, 73-60. Saint Louis had lost 4 games in a row coming into it. i think every Dayton fan knew this game was going to be a fist fight. apparently, the coaches and players didn't. Dayton got punked from the start to the finish. it was so damn bad at some points, i just stopped watching completely.

but i never did switch over to listen to that asshole speak for almost 90 minutes.

Smackdown was really good last night.

205 Live was pretty good last night as well.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, The Masked Singer, Drop the Mic and You're The Worst. i'll watch NXT and NXT UK sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Boston. the Rangers made a minor trade today. i'm guessing it will be the first of many.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow after mom gets done with her physical therapy.

that's all for me kids.
