a day in the rain

so i got up early this morning and got some shit together to take to this shredding event AAA was having. mom got some stuff together and we went up there. by the time we got there, there was a long ass line and basically chaos. then a lady came up to the car and said they wouldn't take anymore but give us your name and number and here's 10% off at the AAA garage and service center. good thing we had the car serviced yesterday was the first thing i thought. so we drove away and since we were out, mom decided she wanted to go shopping. more on that later...

for National Poetry Month, i give you:

i hope you have enjoyed the videos i've posted for National Poetry Month. hopefully i have exposed you to some poets that you didn't know.

i am a very superstitious person. i have noticed over the last few years that anytime i would get some beer from the grocery store, whatever team of mine playing that night would lose. so, yesterday, i didn't get any. and sure enough, there was the New York Yankees winning 2-0 late in the game yesterday against Boston. suddenly, the wheels came off the tracks and fuck me, the Yankees lost 4-2. well, so much for that superstition. the offense fucking stinks this year. and i know exactly what will happen. once it starts to click the pitching will go to shit. that's a good sign that it's going to be a long ass year. they play again tonight in Boston, i almost give a shit.

the New Orleans Saints made me very happy with their two picks last night in the NFL Draft.
i can't wait to watch both of them next season. hopefully they both will have great rookie seasons.

Ohio State did set the record for most players drafted in the first 3 rounds. it's amazing to look back and see just how talented that team has been for the last 4 years. hopefully it will continue.

VICE was pretty fucking disturbing last night. the Iran footage was really good. i am amused with the ignorance the American people have about Iran and why they hate us. the scenes from India were truly fucking amazing. i really hope people get the chance to see this episode.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony on HBO.

i caught up on some podcasts this morning. episode #5 of Seton Calling with Beach Slang. a very interesting episode, given current events with the band. you can check it out here:
https://soundcloud.com/setoncalling/episode-5-beach-slang

also, Sam Roberts' Show #27 with Jensen Karp. if you'd like to laugh your ass off for over 60 minutes, give it a listen.
https://soundcloud.com/samrobertsshow/srshow-27-jensen-karp

so first mom and i went to Hobby Lobby. little did we know, they were having a sale. so we were in there entirely too long, but i finally got the frames for the hockey autographs i have. those are now up on the wall. i also got some fake flowers. i've decided that's what i'm going to put in the bottles of alcohol i finish off. then we went to lunch. after that, she wanted to go to Target. she found what she was looking for and i was busy looking at this one girl that works there that maybe was 18. if she was younger than that, my brain should be arrested. mind you, it was raining the entire time we were out. so by the time we were walking around in Target, my arthritis was absolutely fucking killing me.

when we got home, i got the mail and the first batch of packages coming from my recent purchase at Amazon.com showed up. you'll see that listed in the music section.

i recorded ROH while we were out. thankfully the rain wasn't bad enough to fuck up the satellite feed. i watched that this afternoon. excellent as always.

hopefully all this rain does the grass some good.

i'll be on here tomorrow sometime after Manchester United plays. hopefully, i will be in a good mood. if i'm not, i won't be pissy for long since Sunday night will be full of wrestling and Penny Dreadful returning to my television.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday night. call if you need bail money.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

you ever smell something so good it stops you right in your tracks...

i didn't expect writing this so late today. but, i suppose being out in public on the anniversary of my father's death was better than sitting at home, wallowing in hate. more on today in a little bit...

for National Poetry Month, i give you:

i was pleased with whom the New Orleans Saints took in the first round last night. lord knows they need as much help on defense as possible. hopefully more of that happens tonight and tomorrow.

i was really happy to see 5 Ohio State players go in the top 20 of the draft. hopefully even more of them get drafted in the next 2 days.

The Big Bang Theory was really funny last night. i really didn't watch much of WWE Smackdown last night. i already knew what happened and decided to watch the draft and some playoff hockey instead. i did watch Lip Sync Battle last night, which was fucking hilarious:

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be VICE.

i'm currently watching the NFL Draft while doing this. i'll probably flip over to the Yankees vs. Red Sox game during the commercial breaks once i get this done.

so mom was running behind this morning. she was worried that she was going to be late to her physical therapy appointment. apparently, she forgot that i look at speed limits as simply a suggestion. we made it with 6 minutes to spare. thankfully, she got discharged from her therapy today. she's made enough of an improvement that they would rather have her stop now and have some appointments left in case she regresses. after that, we went out to eat. we decided to go to Smokey Bones, a place we hadn't gone to in years. it was a much better experience than the last time we were there. that made me happy as i love the Cuban sandwich there. after lunch, we headed to get her vehicle serviced. oil change, tires rotated, new air filters, etc. mom decided she wanted to go home after that.

that gave me plenty of time to type up the 5 poems i wrote in the waiting room this morning. i really, really like 2 of those 5. after mom got ready, we headed to the grocery store.

the grocery store was busy as hell. thankfully, we didn't need a ton of things. while i was walking to get some lemonade, i walked by this woman that smelled like the woman of my dreams. it was one of those smells that made me stop in my tracks and close my eyes and smile. as i turned around, of course she was gone. but i know what i'll be putting myself to sleep to tonight.

i think i have to take mom to get some more shit shredded tomorrow morning. after that, i have no clue what i'm doing tomorrow other than sitting around and watching sports.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. it is supposed to rain here, which i don't mind as they finally reseeded the yard today. a good soaking rain would be great.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

so which team screws up the draft the most tonight

sure, i used that title just hoping to get hits. i only care what the New Orleans Saints do in the NFL Draft. and i hope the Ohio State players go to good teams, not in the Saints division.

for National Poetry Month, i give you:

i heard back from Off The Coast on my poetry submission from February. they decided to pass on the 3 i sent. not exactly how i wanted to start off my day. oh well. i sent out 10 poems today; 4 to Hobo Camp Review and 3 each to Dead Snakes and Chiron Review. when i hear back from these places i will pass along the verdicts.

Lucha Underground was really good last night. 2 matches that certainly had enough entertainment to make a great hour of wrestling. NXT was a little different. i was expecting them to show more of the match where Samoa Joe won the NXT title, but oh well. at least they did end the show with Nakamura.

i did enjoy the Table for 3 after NXT with 3 members of the Four Horsemen. that certainly took me back to my youth.

the New York Yankees lost last night 3-2. at least A-Rod looks to be coming out of his slump. thankfully, they are off tonight. they start a series tomorrow in Boston. i almost care.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Big Bang Theory, WWE Smackdown and Lip Sync Battle. i will probably be watching the NFL Draft for most of the night.

i got a great live album for FREE today on NoiseTrade from John Prine. i will post the link in the music section.

that's all for me kids. i've got to take a shower, as tomorrow will be a public Friday for me. i have to take mom to physical therapy in the morning and then she wants to go eat lunch. and then after that, she scheduled the car to go in to get the oil changed. supposedly, while that is being done, we're going to look at new vehicles. i'll believe it when i see it.

so i should be on here tomorrow late afternoon/early evening.

enjoy your draft night. may your favorite team get someone you actually know of.

just another cloudy day

you could tell we had a cold front move through last night. i went out to get the paper this morning and the wind actually had some cool to it. we didn't get nearly as much wind and rain as they said we were going to. i actually would have liked a little more rain as our grass is being reseeded tomorrow.

for National Poetry Month, i give you:

i did a little poetry work today. i got 10 poems ready to go out tomorrow. i figure that way i'll be busy before the NFL Draft occupies my mind.

i was not shocked with who went home last night on The Voice. honestly, i thought Owen should have gone home last week.

Deadliest Catch was really good last night. i don't think i would have been able to do what Captain Jake did last night without a little bit of shit in my pants.

the New York Yankees got blown out last night, 10-1. they end their series in Texas tonight. hopefully they get a win.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Lucha Underground. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network. i'll probably also check out Game 7 tonight between Anaheim and Nashville.

i did listen to Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast today. i highly encourage all of you to check it out for the interview with Chyna that's never been heard before.
http://notsam.com/wrestlingpodcast/2016/4/27/wrestling-podcast-79-chyna-tribute

i got mom's mother's day gift last night on Amazon.com. i was also in the mood to get me some music. so hopefully in a few days i'll have the eclectic mix of Naked & Famous, Ohio Players, Steve Earle, Cowboy Junkies, Muddy Waters and Leonard Cohen. i also got "This Is Water" from David Foster Wallace. i'm gearing up for one of those weird ass summers that i am getting used to. only this one will include a "vacation" to Cleveland in it. i guess that will give me a reason to use my camera and drink in a hotel bar.

that's really all for me today. i'll probably be on here early tomorrow, most likely after i email out the poems. i want to have a pretty clean slate going into the NFL Draft tomorrow night. i'm hoping it's not another one where i end up scratching my head at what the New Orleans Saints are doing. plus, there should be a ton of Ohio State players going in the first round.

hope everyone has a great one. take it easy and then take it again.

random thoughts while stuck behind an old person driving 30 in a 50 mph zone

i wrote 2 poems yesterday afternoon, more or less about the evil inside of me. so when i was stuck behind this old lady while driving to pick up my mother at the rental car place, i started to laugh. sure, i was tempted to run her off the road. sure, i was looking for a spot to pass her. but i did nothing, i just followed. now, when she turned to get on the highway, i did say i hope you die in the accident you're getting ready to cause, but it was more in that loving sense where i hope she doesn't feel any pain. ok, i'm not buying that either.

for National Poetry Month, i give you:

i was elated to see that Bruce Springsteen made his cover of Purple Rain by Prince a FREE download. you know i got that as soon as i possibly could. here is a link to it:
http://assets.nugs.edgesuite.net/free/bs160423d1_01_Purple_Rain.mp3

i really enjoyed The Voice last night. i really have no clue who is getting voted off tonight.

i was relieved to see Gotham was a rerun last night. i was tired as hell when i started to watch it.

Monday Night Raw was pretty good. i was excited to watch Anderson and Gallows finally wrestle. i'm really happy that Karl Anderson has finally fulfilled his dream of getting to the WWE. i'm really interested to see what happens at the ppv this Sunday. it should be a great one.

the New York Yankees got some great pitching last night and a few big hits that were just enough to win 3-1. that's a good way to start a long road trip. they play again tonight in Texas.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and Deadliest Catch.

i'm not sure if it's going to storm here tonight or not. my bones tell me yes, but the radar says something else. good times.

i do need to pickup all the trash though. we've already done next door, mostly because i don't think my mother nor i wanted to do that in the rain.

i listened to the latest edition of Seton Calling this morning. you can find it by going here:

i may do another round of poetry submissions tomorrow, just so i feel like i have had an active National Poetry Month. i do think with the 7 poems i have written in the last 2 days, i should have plenty of options.

headache gone, now here comes the rain

after a nice, long shower at 2 in the morning, i had a writing session last night. i wrote 5 poems, all of which i like. i typed them up this afternoon. the only problem with me writing late at night is i have a hard time falling asleep. my brain doesn't like to be turned off. that's why i always play music at night, hoping to distract my brain and then get some rest. 4 hours a night doesn't really cut it.

for National Poetry Month, i give you:

House of Lies was funny last night. it really made me miss the days where i'd get fucking stoned out of my mind. Silicon Valley was fucking hilarious. Veep was hilarious as well. sadly, i believe that is much closer to reality about our government than it is to fiction. finally, Last Week Tonight was brilliant once again.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and Gotham. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the night.

the New York Yankees play tonight down in Texas. i doubt i watch much of the game.

i did listen to the latest Sam & Cathy podcast this morning. i highly recommend you checking it out.
http://notsam.com/srshow/2016/4/25/sam-cathy-008-bars-lemonade

the sun was out for most of the day. i did see my uncle get out on his scooter for a little bit. i don't know how much longer he'll actually get to enjoy that.

i did all my household duties in the last 2 days. cleaned the toilets, put away the dishes, vacuum the whole house. hopefully mom will notice when she gets back.

heard from my first girlfriend this morning that she's moving to Virginia next month. i told her to keep in touch but i doubt that happens. the one thing that amazes me as someone who has never had many friends to begin with, just how easily adults grow apart from their friends. of course, i probably wouldn't notice this problem at all if i had gone to college and had those friendships to build on. instead i was working in a factory, falling in love with the wrong people and writing poems hoping someone would publish them. lord knows, i never liked the easy way of doing anything.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. i may be a little moody this week. it's coming up on the one year anniversary of my father's death. i need to get out to the cemetery and be sure to take my camera. i'd like visual proof that fucker really is gone.

the joys of a headache while living on a toilet

as the title implies, today has been one of those days where the 8 year old me was absolutely correct. choose death.

for National Poetry Month, i give you:

i think i have had a headache since last night. alcohol didn't help. sleep didn't help. hell, a shower and clean clothes didn't help either. good times.

i really enjoyed Saturday Night Live last night. seeing all those old Prince performances and the skits was great. having Jimmy Fallon host it was good as well. you could tell just how much Prince meant to Jimmy.

ROH was excellent last night.

i was blown away by Lemonade last night. Beyonce really showed me something last night, in more ways than one. first, loved the concept. second, i was so happy she used poetry in the production, even better she used the poems from someone who isn't a household name. for that, i will always have something positive to say about Beyonce. thirdly, the celebrity cameos were great and including the mothers of the black men killed by police officers was certainly a poignant part. and quite frankly, i enjoy anything that makes white people uncomfortable. lastly, the music was great. and it was a little of everything; rock, r&b, hip hop... was a great listen. i highly encourage everyone to check it out.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be House of Lies, Last Week Tonight and the return of Veep and Silicon Valley.

the New York Yankees played like shit today. i turned the game off when they were down 2-0 ten pitches into the game. they ended up losing 8-1. that wraps up a lousy home stand. they now go on the road. i doubt it gets much better, especially now that the injuries are already popping up. so much for that winning streak.

mom made it up to Columbus. she hates her rental car. she wanted a mid-size SUV and the place told her that wouldn't be a problem. instead she gets a Chevy Tahoe, which is probably the biggest vehicle she has ever driven. she's supposed to be back by tomorrow afternoon. hopefully she gets back here before the rain hits.

i think i will have a writing session tonight if all goes as planned. one of those that lasts until 3 or 4 in the morning. i haven't had one of those in a few months.

i hope your Saturday was great. i hope your Sunday is even better.

time to shave i guess

i slept longer than i wanted to (shocking) this morning. i really didn't have time to eat breakfast before taking mom to get her rental car. sadly, this has happened enough that i now know... if i don't eat breakfast before 10 AM, no matter what i have for breakfast, i will be on the toilet, really enjoying life. sure enough, at the stroke of noon today, there i was racing for the toilet just as i was getting ready to watch Manchester United. good times.

for National Poetry Month, i give you:

i really enjoyed NJPW last night. after that, i watched the NBC special on Prince. that sort of gave me a little closure on everything. after that, i watched VICE on HBO. i really hope someone asks Trump about that golf course in Dubai and the slave labor going on to build it.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Lemonade (Beyonce's special on HBO), ROH and Saturday Night Live's tribute to Prince.

i did get a chance to listen to the latest Sam Roberts' Show podcast today. if you'd like to find out just how stupid some Americans are, i highly recommend it.
http://notsam.com/srshow/2016/4/22/srshow-the-trans-bathroom-debate

Manchester United probably played the best first half i had seen them play all season today. they were up 1-0 going into halftime. then, Everton showed some urgency in the second half, though it took a Chris Smalling own goal to get them level. thankfully, Anthony Martial came to the rescue. he scored with probably 30 seconds left in the game. i believe the whole fucking neighborhood could hear me screaming at the top of my lungs when he scored. Manchester United will be playing for the FA Cup for the first time since 2007. way too long of a drought. i can't wait for that drink tonight.

the New York Yankees stopped their losing streak last night. i think the whole season might have turned when Jacoby Ellsbury had a straight steal of home. that sort of woke everyone up. the Yankees went on to win the game 6-3. fast forward to this afternoon, and the Yankees were trailing late. they found a way to tie the game and then Brett Gardner hit a walk off home run to win the game 3-2. holy shit, a winning streak. they go for the sweep tomorrow.

and then that brings me to the New York Rangers. honestly, i didn't watch much of the game today. as soon as i heard that AV had scratched Dan Boyle and replaced him with Dan Girardi, i knew the worst was going to come. sure enough, the Rangers lost 6-3 to be eliminated in just 5 games. god willing, the powers that be will know some fucking changes HAVE to happen for next season to be the season we have been waiting for since 1994.

so, time to go shave off the little playoff beard i have and eat a little dinner.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

wallowing in the rain

we made it back from the grocery store today right before it started to storm. that is one of the first times since we moved here that i absolutely love having a garage attached to the house. after so many years of bringing in groceries out of the rain out at the farm, staying dry is a nice change of pace.

for National Poetry Month, i give you:

i was (an really still am) in the dumps last night. i was hoping that my sports teams could lift me up. instead, they decided to shit down my throat.

the New York Rangers got embarrassed last night, losing at home to the Penguins 5-0. i turned the game off when it was 3-0. honestly, i do hope their season fucking ends tomorrow so maybe the general manger and owner can understand that changes need to be made.

the New York Yankees got swept by Oakland, losing 7-3. they are in last place in the division and start a series at home with Tampa tonight. sadly, they probably need to keep losing for changes to actually happen on that team as well.

thankfully, The Big Bang Theory was excellent last night, as was Lip Sync Battle. both shows got me to laugh, which i desperately needed last night.

i watched WWE Smackdown this morning. it was an excellent show this week.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW and VICE.

i had to take mom to her bank today to deposit a check and then she wanted to go to lunch before we went to the grocery store. so we went to this sports bar we both like. right as we were getting ready to leave, Purple Rain came on in the place. it was simply fucking amazing to hear the place get quiet and watch people with tears in the eyes as we walked out. i know that each time i have heard that song in the last 24 hours i have started crying.

as i was trying to fall asleep last night, i was wondering why this death is affecting me more than Bowie's death did. the only thing i can think of is how much more of a personal relationship i have had with the music of Prince over my life. going to a black high school certainly played a role in that. making mix tapes with Prince songs in them over the years certainly played a role. and i guess the one thing Prince did that Bowie really didn't do, was always create new music. to think that he's dead is still numbing to me. but, as James Corden said last night, i will always cherish the fact i was alive when that genius was making music.

for those of you that are interested, on my Soundcloud page you can find the last concert that Prince did. it should be at the top of my page. here is a link to it: https://soundcloud.com/j-j-campbell

i have to take mom to get a rental car tomorrow morning. hopefully i will get back home by the time Manchester United plays at noon in the FA Cup semifinals. by the time that is over, the Rangers and Yankees will be playing. so, i'll probably be back on here tomorrow evening or so.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

please excuse these purple tears

i guess 2016 is going to be the year my musical influences die. i remember being 8 years old and watching Prince on television and being completely blown the fuck away. probably one of the best guitar players you never thought of as a bad ass guitar player. he was always a go to when i was making a mixtape back in the day. see kids, we used to have these things called cassettes and you put songs on both sides of them for either friends or the girl you had a crush on...

you left this world way too soon. you will never be forgotten. may you rest in peace...
"A strong spirit transcends rules" - Prince (June 7, 1958 - April 21, 2016)

for National Poetry Month, i give you:

the New York Yankees last night got two solo home runs and some horrific base running. sadly, if their pitchers aren't perfect, they can't win at the moment. they lost last night 5-2. Oakland goes for the sweep tonight. good times.

Lucha Underground last night was spectacular. i absolutely love this show.

NXT was pretty good last night, but way too short for my liking though. i do think i am going to enjoy No Way Jose though.

it was late last night, as i was helping my mother with her job, that i found out that Chyna had died. this is one of the things i learned early on being a pro wrestling fan. never expect any of them to live long lives. Chyna was amazing at what she did and she was years ahead of her time. may you finally rest in peace Joanie.

so you might imagine what the next round of poems are going to be about. good thing i have plenty of experience writing about death.

speaking of writing, i highly recommend any of you poets out there to send your work to In Between Hangovers. Tasha got back to me with a response about 90 minutes after i sent her my submission. so she's not bullshitting when she says a timely response.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Big Bang Theory, WWE Smackdown and Lip Sync Battle.

the New York Rangers play Game 4 tonight against Pittsburgh. i feel like they really have to win tonight if they want to win this series. i don't think this Rangers team is built to come back from being down 3 games to 1. that being said, the Rangers have lost 4 straight home games in the playoffs and haven't beat the Penguins there all fucking season. hence why i believe tonight is a MUST win game.

appropriately enough, it's been raining just about all day long. perfect for my fucking mood.

i'll be on here sometime tomorrow after a trip to the grocery store.

now i'm off to go put on some purple and go drown myself in some great music.

and here comes the rain

another night of shitty sleep, but this time the ache crept back in. that means only one thing... rain will be here soon, good times.

for National Poetry Month, i give you:

last night was one of those nights that if i wasn't 40 and already beaten by life, i would have been in the mood to kill someone after the games last night.

the New York Yankees still can't hit consistently for anything it seems this season. they lost in 11 innings last night 3-2. Oakland was begging them to win the game. figures. they play again tonight. i doubt i watch.

the New York Rangers started off on fire last night. when Nash scored i really felt they were going to win the game. silly me. the Penguins scored the next three goals to win 3-1. that didn't piss me off as much as the horrific officiating last night did. how the fuck do you miss a two handed slash to the head when there are 8 fucking eyes out there looking for shit like that? and i, as a Rangers fan, is supposed to believe the league doesn't hate us. such fucking bullshit. so when a Rangers player does that to one of the Penguins star players in the next game, how much do you want to bet the Rangers player gets suspended for? Game 4 is on Thursday and i really hope AV gets his head out of his fucking ass and plays McIlrath in the game. i swear, if i have to see Dan Boyle fuck up one more time and cost the team a goal, i will do something really fucking stupid. and by stupid, i mean go to New York and remove the coach myself. fucking ridiculous.

so as you might imagine, i was (and still am) a bit pissy last night.

i thought Deadliest Catch was pretty good last night. it's interesting to see how the young guys deal with the bad weather compared to the guys who have fished up there for 30 years or more.

the season finale of Total Divas was the usual hot mess. i see the Bellas are getting their own spin off show, Total Bellas. i'll watch just to see how quickly Daniel Bryan gets on John Cena's nerves.

i was a little bummed at who got voted off of The Voice last night. i really liked Emily's style and the songs she did. plus, she's from Ohio as well.

enjoy some music kids:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Lucha Underground. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i did listen to Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast this morning. i really enjoyed his interview with Samoa Joe.
i highly recommend you checking this out. http://notsam.com/wrestlingpodcast/2016/4/20/wrestling-podcast-78-samoa-joe

Manchester United defeated Crystal Palace 2-0 today. i don't believe Palace had a shot on goal for the entire game. United went up 1-0 4 minutes on an own goal from a Palace defender. United went up 2-0 with a wonder strike from Matteo Darmian. that was his first goal for the club. the win puts United just 1 point behind Arsenal and just 2 points behind Manchester Shitty. next game is on Saturday against Everton in the FA Cup semifinals. big, big, big game. a win and they will actually play for a title this season.

i believe the victory beer tonight is actually going to be something involving either Jack Daniels or Jagermeister.

when i was younger, 4/20 was actually a day i enjoyed. now that i'm older and live in a house where the owner claims to be allergic to marijuana, it's not as fun. but, she won't live forever and i have no problem being the stereotype as the old stoner.

that's all for me kids. i really need to go take a long hot shower or go break something in the garage. one of those days i guess.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

who knew restless dreams are actually inspiration

i couldn't sleep worth a shit last night. tossing and turning... even the thought of masturbation didn't help. i started reading some poems and got some ideas... and what you have seen from me today is what came from those restless dreams. of course, i'd much rather not to have to resort to this again, but oh well. on with the show.

for National Poetry Month, i give you:

Gotham was fucking amazing last night. i think we're getting to the really good shit now.

The Voice was really, really good last night. a few of the performances were truly awesome. i have no damn clue who is getting the boot tonight. all of them have enough talent to make it one way or another in the music business.

Monday Night Raw wasn't as good as the week before, but it was still good. it looks like Jericho and Ambrose are going to feud. and Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, which i guess are going to feud with each other until death, are set to face off at the next ppv. my favorite part of the show had to be Roman Reigns getting jumped by Anderson and Gallows. that certainly put a smile on my face.

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, Deadliest Catch and the season finale of Total Divas.

the New York Rangers play Game 3 of their series with the Penguins tonight at MSG. hopefully the boys can win and get the 2-1 advantage in the series.

the New York Yankees play tonight against Oakland. i'd love to see them get a win tonight as well.

i listened to a great podcast last night. Seton Calling. you can check out the interview with Zach Blair on the right hand side of this blog or by going here:

i have trash to go pick up and i need to fill some bird feeders. it's supposed to rain tomorrow, so god knows the birds will be going nuts.

i'll be on here tomorrow after the Manchester United game. hopefully i'll be in a good mood.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

one of those days where i wish i could have slept it away

it's amazing how nice it is to see the sun and some warmth after a month or so of nothing but clouds and rain. of course, a few more weeks of this and i'll be bitching about life as a fat person in the summer. good times.

for National Poetry Month, i give you:

the one thing i have kept in mind while watching Vinyl on HBO this season, i knew the show was going to be over the top most of the time. that's exactly how the creative minds behind it are. so, i wanted to focus on the music more than anything. and the music never disappointed. that is why i really enjoyed the entire series, as well as the finale last night. the one thing i have always liked about the music from the early 70's, you could find a little bit of everything in everything. and most of it still resonates.

the season finale of Girls last night was great. i truly enjoyed the "reality" of it. when you hit your 30's, you don't have friends per se. you barely have pals. it's about finding yourself and trying to find the reality that works for you. the show i think finally found that this season.

House of Lies was pretty funny last night. the show hit a little close to home as i remember when i got fired over a sexual harassment claim. oh the memories.

Last Week Tonight was excellent as always last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice and Gotham. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw.

i listened to a hilarious podcast this morning from Sam & Cathy. be prepared to laugh your ass off.
you can check it out here: http://notsam.com/srshow/2016/4/18/sam-cathy-007-the-fb-episode

i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade today. i'll post the links below in the music section.

i think i know what poem i'm going to make into a YouTube video and i'm thinking i might do a medley of poems for Soundcloud. something like 3 short ones put together. of course, i could change my mind by tomorrow.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.
