it was bound to end sometime...

i woke up with a terrible headache this morning. i'm not sure if it was the alcohol (not likely) or the massive cold front that moved through the area last night. plus, the clocks got moved forward a hour. anywho, i felt like something bad was going to happen today and sure enough...

i really wanted Manchester United to take the momentum they got in Paris and have it travel with them today when they faced Arsenal. sadly, it didn't. instead, United had the letdown that i feared was coming. they simply were not clinical in the final third of the pitch when they needed to be. add in some shitty officiating, and you have yourselves a 2-0 loss. not exactly how i wanted to start my Sunday. this will be a good test for Ole to see how the team responds from this.

the Dayton Flyers won last night at Duquesne, 78-67. they finished the regular season with a record of 21-10. that's 7 games better than last season. they are the 3 seed in the A10 Tournament, which means they won't play again until Friday night.

the New York Rangers scored 4 straight goals last night to defeat New Jersey, 4-2.

the New York Yankees won last night over Baltimore, 6-1. they have a split squad today playing against the Pirates and Tigers.

Saturday Night Live was pretty funny last night.

ROH was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Aretha! A Grammy Celebration for the Queen of Soul, The Case Against Adnan Syed, the series finale of Crashing, High Maintenance, Last Week Tonight, Total Bellas, the season finale of Shameless, Black Monday and SMILF. i'll be watching WWE Fastlane for most of the evening on WWE Network.

i have no damn clue when i will be on here tomorrow. mom has physical therapy at 4 in the afternoon, so i'll try to get the blog done before i take her. i also have some medications for me to pick up...

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday is even better.

i suppose, since it's 4 in the afternoon now, i should think about eating lunch.

until tomorrow kids...

response from Yellow Mama

i heard back from Cindy at Yellow Mama on my poetry submission from a couple weeks ago. my poem "a few haunting memories" has been accepted for publication. the poem will be in issue #71, scheduled to come out on June 15th.

way too busy for a Saturday morning...

mom gave me a check last night for everything i have had to spend this week. between the groceries, gas, and her pills, it was close to $800. i decided to get that deposited this morning. since i was going to be going out, mom told me to get some breakfast and bring it home. i laughed and said sure, i just went to the grocery store, but go out and get some fast food as well. so of course, i went to McDonald's after i went to the bank this morning.

the grocery store was pretty good yesterday until i felt a nice twinge in my back. it's a damn good thing my pain tolerance is as high as it is.

the New York Yankees lost last night to Detroit, 6-5. they play Baltimore tonight i think.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

NJPW was pretty good last night.

WOW could have been good last night, but for the third week in a row the finish of the show was a run in no finish. i can't stand shows that keep running on the same gimmick week after week with no pay off in the end. that's a recipe for disaster.

Real Time with Bill Maher was really good last night.

i did write 3 poems late last night. i really, really liked them. i then figured out where my next 45 poems are going. i'll get those submissions out early next week most likely.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live and ROH.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight at Duquesne. i'll have to listen to the game on the radio since i don't have ESPN+. it would be nice if Dayton got their 21st win tonight, but they will need Davidson to lose to finish 2nd in the league. even if Dayton loses tonight, they will still finish 3rd. not bad for a team picked 6th before the season started. of course, VCU was picked 7th and they won the whole league going away.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against New Jersey. Lose for Hughes, boys.

i made some chili for tonight for dinner.

my favorite woman at the bank was working today. if i was twenty years younger...

i'll be on here tomorrow probably after Manchester United plays Arsenal.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. i'm off to go ice down my back and watch some college basketball.

until tomorrow kids...

another weather forecast gone wrong

i woke up this morning to see a dusting of snow that was covering the driveway and that's about it. i started to laugh, wondering if we will actually get the thunderstorms they were predicting this weekend or not.

the New York Rangers lost last night in the shootout at Detroit, 3-2. lose for Hughes boys.

The Big Bang Theory was hilarious last night.

Young Sheldon was excellent last night.

Gotham was great last night.

Will & Grace was really funny last night.

Better Things was great last night.

Desus & Mero was fucking crazy last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, NJPW, WOW and Real Time with Bill Maher.

i figure i might watch some of the New York Yankees tonight as well. i think they are playing the Tigers.

i also want to figure out my next round of poetry submissions. lord knows i've got plenty to choose from.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

i should be on here in the morning or early afternoon tomorrow.

i'm off to the grocery store...

miracles exist

i watched the Manchester United game yesterday and probably 12 hours later, i still couldn't believe what happened. United came into the game down 2-0 to PSG. now, when they lost to them at Old Trafford, the media talked about the mountain in front of them and Ole talked about how mountains are there to be climbed. well, yesterday, with all the fucking injuries and playing in Paris, the boys climbed that fucking mountain. United won 3-1. the 3 away goals were what sent them through to the next round of the Champions League. just fucking crazy. give Ole the job for the next 10 years NOW!

right after that ended, i went to go watch Senior night at UD Arena. the Dayton Flyers were taking on a horrible La Salle team. the first half was horrific to watch. Dayton has the tendency to play down to its competition. it's obvious the head coach has no clue how to get that mentality out of the team. shit, it's too late now. thankfully, Dayton woke up in the second half and absolutely destroyed La Salle, 70-39. that means Dayton will finish no worse than 3rd in the A10, which gives them a double bye for the conference tournament.

NXT was really good last night.

NXT UK was really good as well.

You're The Worst was fucking great last night.

Drop the Mic was pretty funny last night.

enjoy some music:

i wrote 13 poems today while mom had her physical therapy. i typed those up this afternoon. that brings me to 25 poems for the month of March so far. i really like a few of the poems today. i'm guessing that a late Friday night session to figure out the submissions is going to happen tomorrow.

mom wanted to go to Bob Evans for lunch after her therapy.

there's supposed to be snow coming tonight. 1-3 inches i guess. and then a chance for thunderstorms on the weekend. joy.

i will probably be on here before i go to the grocery store tomorrow. i want to go after the fucking snow melts, hopefully. so, i'm planning on writing the blog in the morning.

the New York Yankees won today over the Phillies, 6-0. so, i'm drinking tonight.

the New York Rangers play tonight at Detroit. this is a game that neither team really wants to win. great.

swimming upstream it seems

i opened my email this morning and had 256 emails. i started to laugh. so much for eating breakfast before noon. i got through all the emails eventually, and knew my day was about 3 hours behind where i wanted it to be. oh well.

Manchester United plays this afternoon in the Champions League against PSG. i'd love to see them pull off a miracle, but i'm not counting on it.

The Voice was pretty good last night.

Smackdown was really good last night.

205 Live was good last night as well.

enjoy some music:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, You're The Worst and Drop the Mic. i'll watch NXT and NXT UK sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the Dayton Flyers play at home tonight against LaSalle. it's senior night, so there should be plenty of emotion in the building. this is a game Dayton MUST win if they want to finish in the top 4 of the conference.

i think mom has physical therapy tomorrow. i'll probably be on here after that is done.

i'd really love if spring would show the fuck up here. this cold ass wind is driving my arthritis nuts today. good times.

the New York Rangers lost last night at Dallas, 1-0. the refs certainly didn't do the Rangers any favors last night.

that's all for me kids. i have to go have some lunch and get a shower in before i leave for the game tonight.

always love when the windchill is below zero

when i felt the wind this morning when i went out to get the paper, i knew it was going to be a cold fucking day. sure enough...

i did type up the 12 poems i wrote yesterday. i really like a few of them. i will get my next batch of submissions ready this weekend probably.

so, part 2 of Leaving Neverland had me in tears last night. and it really cemented in my mind that there is zero chance Michael Jackson didn't do something to those kids. the Oprah Winfrey Presents: After Neverland interview after part 2 was pretty good. it wasn't just about the documentary but child sexual abuse in general. she marveled at how the director was able to show in 4 hours what she couldn't do in 216 shows on the subject. and honestly, any Michael Jackson fan that thinks he's innocent, i hope you never have any children. blind loyalty is beyond fucking stupid. and that is a disease that doesn't need to be passed on.

The Voice was pretty good last night.

Monday Night Raw was pretty crazy last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Smackdown and The Voice. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the New York Rangers play tonight in Dallas.

the New York Yankees won today over Atlanta, 5-1. it was supposed to be the spring debut of Luis Severino today, but they scratched him for rotator cuff inflammation. oh joy.

i did go and get mom money out of the ATM today. of course, that's about a 10 minute drive. then, i had to go 20 minutes back in the other direction to pick up her pills. that was about $150 right there. and then she wanted Taco Bell for lunch.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays in the Champions League. i'm hoping for a miracle.

the trash has already been done, so that is all for me today kids.

until tomorrow...

quick edit, i just remembered Dayton plays tomorrow night, so i will be doing the blog in the morning...

i guess winter isn't done yet...

we didn't get much snow yesterday, but holy fuck it got cold. i believe the windchill for most of today was below 0 at all times. that made for a fun walk in the parking lot at mom's physical therapy. i guess it's supposed to be like this all week. joy.

i wrote 12 poems today. i'll type them up sometime tonight or tomorrow morning. i guess they told mom they can't do much for her back anymore. they are concentrating on her shoulder now. i know she gets her next injection in her back in a month.

i did watch part 1 of Leaving Neverland last night. as someone who was molested at a young age, it was very tough to watch at times. seeing the faxes that Michael Jackson sent the kid in Australia and the jewelry he bought for the kid in California, that really drove it home to me that they are telling the truth. i'll watch part 2 tonight and then the interview with Oprah sometime tonight. i'm not expecting part 2 to be any easier to watch.

Total Bellas was good last night.

Crashing was pretty good last night. the season finale is next week.

High Maintenance was hilarious last night.

Last Week Tonight was fucking great as usual.

Shameless was great last night. the season finale next week should be amazing.

Black Monday was really fucking funny last night.

SMILF was pretty good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, part 2 of Leaving Neverland and Oprah Winfrey Presents: After Neverland. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

so i know celebrity deaths usually come in 3's, but today was pretty ridiculous. i first saw that Ted Lindsay died. i knew of him because of my love for hockey. then, i saw the news about Keith Flint, lead singer of The Prodigy. his suicide broke my damn heart. they were absolutely one of my favorite electronic bands ever. and then, i saw that Luke Perry died from his massive stroke at just 52.

so you can imagine what theme most of the poems were about today.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after a trip to get some money out of the bank for mom and picking up her medications. that will be fun to do in the fucking cold.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

and here comes the snow...

it started snowing around 10 this morning. i believe it's supposed to stop around 10 tonight. i have no clue if it actually will though. it doesn't look like it's sticking to the road or the sidewalk, so i hope that stays like that.

the New York Rangers lost today to Washington in the shootout, 3-2. it was one of the crazier finishes i have ever seen. the Rangers backup goalie threw his stick at Ovechkin in the shootout and the on ice officials must not have seen it well enough to actually know what happened, since the officials in Toronto had to actually make the call that it was an awarded goal. just fucking crazy.

i did watch some of the MLS last night.

Saturday Night Live was really good last night.

ROH was really good last night as well.

growing tired of the excuses...

at one point yesterday, i felt like i was busier than 9 cats covering up shit in a windstorm. between the bank and two different grocery stores, a swell of humanity thinking the end of the world was coming, and a gas station to fill up (just in case)... i got back home in time to put the groceries away and turn around and go to the Dayton Flyers game. when i saw where i was going to be parking, i thought to myself i should have stayed home. the way Dayton started the game, my mind hadn't changed. Dayton dug out of the hole they put themselves in against Rhode Island and had a chance to win the game in regulation. and they had a chance to win the game in OT, but of course, did neither. Dayton lost 72-70 to a god awful Rhode Island team. and then to hear Dayton's coach after the game put the blame on himself for not having the team ready to play... i was fucking apoplectic. it's fucking March. there is no excuse in the fucking world to not be ready for that game at home when the end of the season is near and people are starting to talk about your team being on the bubble for the NCAA tournament. and people wonder why i never wanted this motherfucker to be hired in the first place. Dayton played like Rhode Island was going to travel all this way and just lay down for them. that pretty much explains 19 fucking turnovers at home and only have 2 starters play like they give a shit. now i have been in that building for some truly painful losses over the years. but rarely did i sit there and stew about the shitty play calls or who was actually in the game at the critical moments. here is what i think is the major flaw in Anthony Grant's system. he treats this job like it is a NBA job. you can see in the timeouts, the assistants are doing all the work. he's more or less the CEO. and honestly, he should never be allowed to draw up another play out of a timeout this fucking season. Dayton had 2 players going last night, Obi Toppin and Ryan Mikesell. neither of them got the ball at the end of regulation or at the end of OT. it's fucking mind blowing to me that both times the hopeful shots were put up by a guy who didn't score the entire fucking game.

the New York Rangers lost to Montreal last night, 4-2. the game was over by the time i got home last night.

NJPW was pretty good last night.

WOW was good last night.

The Shop was excellent last night.

the season finale of 2 Dope Queens was hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Saturday Night Live and ROH.

i will probably watch some of the MLS games tonight. their season began today.

i got up this morning (i'm on barely 4 hours of sleep at the moment) and watched Manchester United. with a win today, they would move back in the top 4. Southampton got a wonder strike in the first half to go up 1-0. in the second half, United got a wonder strike of their own from Andreas Pereira to even it at 1-1. Lukaku scored to put United up. Southampton got another wonder strike to even the game at 2-2. and then Lukaku scored in the 89th minute to put United up 3-2. that was the final score. it's starting to feel like the old days again. i can remember watching United when i was younger and being amazed at the number of goals that would come in "Fergie Time". perhaps, since Ole scored plenty of those goals, the glory is coming back.

i guess the winter storm is supposed to hit us tomorrow. they are saying we're going to get 2 inches of snow. yesterday at the grocery store, the cashier was talking about the white death coming this weekend. i almost said something about a KKK rally, but i kept my mouth shut.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after the New York Rangers play in the afternoon. of course, if that game gets too bad, i'll be on sooner.

i hope everyone has a good Saturday. call if you need bail money.

starting the month off with...

i was hoping to be at the grocery store by this time. of course, it didn't exactly work out that way. this is why i rarely will plan anything. life gets in the way.

i did type up the 10 poems late last night. i really like this batch. i will probably get my first submissions of March ready this weekend, most likely.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight at home against Rhode Island. i am planning on going to the game. i believe it is on ESPN2. Dayton is favored to win and they need to keep winning if they want to play in the NCAA tournament this season. if Dayton does win tonight, it would be win number 20 on the season.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Montreal. i know they called up one of their kids for this game. i'm hoping they start playing the younger players even more now.

i need to go to the bank and grocery store before i get ready to go to the game tonight, so that is all kids.

i will probably be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays in the morning.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. i hope the weather where you are is good for the start of March. we got almost an inch of snow last night. they are calling for a big ass snow storm this weekend. so, i can just imagine a calm and boring grocery store this afternoon. fuck me.
