so, i woke up this morning and was feeling pretty good. did my usual routine of making coffee, watering the plants outside, checking emails, having breakfast, etc. right around 11:30 or so, i could feel my back start to tighten up. so, i grabbed an ice pack and headed to my massage chair. roughly 4 hours later now, my back isn't feeling any better. joy.
the Yankees swept Oakland yesterday, winning 5-3. it was yet another come from behind victory. i only got to see the last 3 innings of it. Judge and Stanton homered and that accounted for all of the Yankees runs. they play tonight in Houston before going to Cleveland for a series there.
the grocery shopping went pretty good yesterday. i got everything on the list and managed to get gas yesterday and not spend over $40. that felt like a fucking miracle.
AEW Dynamite last night was fucking crazy.
i did watch a little bit of the Columbus Crew last night.
enjoy some music:

hard to imagine that tomorrow is going to be the first day of July.
tonight is the start of NBA free agency. i thought it was going to be boring and then i saw that Kevin Durant has requested a trade from Brooklyn. so, now i'm expecting all hell to break loose.
in even crazier news, USC and UCLA want to join the Big Ten. holy shit.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.
i think i might spend the rest of today doing my laundry. i'm sure that will do wonders for my bad back.
ok kids, that's all for now.

so, i did the dishes last night and i certainly paid for it today. sometime this morning my back just sort of seized up on me and decided it didn't want to cooperate today. joy. so, i spent a good portion of today in my massage chair with ice on my back. i think it was close to 4 hours. i finally got my back "good" enough to go out and water the tomato plants. i'm trying to take it easy the rest of today, since i know i need to do the grocery shopping tomorrow.
the Yankees won again last night, defeating Oakland, 9-5. of course, they were losing at one point in the game, 5-1. that was the Yankees 23rd come from behind victory this season. hopefully, they won't have to come from behind tonight to win.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.
Miz & Mrs was fucking hilarious last night.
Don't Forget the Lyrics was good last night.

yesterday was long, crazy, good, etc. and i might as well start from where we left off yesterday...
the Yankees were in the process of being no hit again yesterday. 6 1/3 fucking innings of ineptitude and then Stanton crushed a home run to dead center. that seemed to wake up the dead. the Yankees were still down 3-1 though. thankfully, DJ LeMahieu hit a 2 run homer in the 8th to tie the game at 3. the game went to extra innings. Michael King survived the top of the 10th. and then, Dusty Baker showed his age by not walking Aaron Judge in the bottom of the 10th. he hit a three run homer that gave the Yankees a 6-3 victory. now, the Astros outpiched the Yankees by a mile in this series. but, both Yankee victories in the series spilt were punches to the dick. the Yankees start a series tonight at home against Oakland.
i did catch a little of the MLS game yesterday.
the AEW/NJPW Forbidden Door ppv yesterday was fucking great.
i completely didn't know I Can See Your Voice was going to be on yesterday. it was pretty good.
Last Week Tonight was BRILLIANT as usual.
Westworld was excellent last night. i'm really looking forward to the new season.
Vice was really good last night.
The Chi was great last night. the new season looks like it should be really good.
The Man Who Fell To Earth was excellent last night. i can't wait for the season finale next week.
Flatbush Misdemeanors was really funny last night.

i did listen to episode 401 of Notsam Wrestling this morning. you can hear that by going here:
so, as i watching the Yankees game yesterday, they brought up the stat that the Astros no-hit them in a combined no-hitter 19 years ago. and sure enough, they did it again yesterday. the Yankees struck out 15 fucking times yesterday and lost 3-0. they need to win today to split the series. it is painfully obvious that the Astros are still in their fucking heads.
i did watch plenty of the MLS yesterday.
the USWNT defeated Colombia last night, 3-0.
i did get my pills (finally) at Rite Aid yesterday.

Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final is tonight. i'm not going to be shocked if there is going to be a Game 7.
it is supposed to rain today at some point. i get the feeling i'll have to water the tomato plants anyway.

Tampa Bay defeated Colorado last night, 3-2. that forces Game 6 Sunday night in Tampa.
Smackdown and NXT Level Up were both pretty good last night.

most of the time, i am a pretty laid back kind of guy. but, i do have moments where it doesn't take much to really set me off. and i come from a long line of assholes with legendary tempers. so, you can imagine how i was today at Rite Aid. i was told by a guy working at the pharmacy that my other prescription i called in on Monday would be ready today. i got there, for the third straight day, and the same fucking guy tells me the pills will be ready tomorrow. i mention to him that he himself told me they would be ready today. he seemed surprised that either he made the mistake or someone in this town has a memory longer than a fucking goldfish. so, i guess i get to there for the 4th straight fucking day tomorrow. fuck me.
the Yankees were trailing last night going into the bottom of the 9th, 6-3. they hadn't had a hit against the Astros since the first fucking inning. so, when Aaron Hicks, of all people, hit a game tying 3 run homer, i screamed HOLY SHIT. eventually, Aaron Judge would get the game winning hit as the Yankees defeated Houston, 7-6. that was one of those victories that truly makes me believe this season is going to be a special one. and thankfully, Aaron Judge and the team avoided arbitration today and settled on a contract for this season.
NXT UK was very good last night.
The Old Man was fucking great last night.
NJPW was really good last night.
Desus & Mero was hilarious last night. they are now off for their summer hiatus.

i heard back from Cristina at Synchronized Chaos on my recent poetry submission. my poems "clusterfuck", "the longest line of whatever", "never cool just effective", "tearing at the seams" and "maybe these demons" have been accepted for publication in the July 1st issue.
you could really tell a difference this morning with the humidity. it is always nice to not start sweating as soon as you open the door.
so, i'm sure some of you saw i sent some poems out last night. i actually wrote 3 poems last night before i did that. for some reason the song Slow an' Easy by Whitesnake popped into my head last night. i have vivid memories of that song playing at a high school party i was at. the party was at a state park. so, that memory got the ball rolling and pretty soon, i had 3 poems written.
the Yankees came from behind last night and defeated Tampa, 5-4. they start a series at home tonight against the Astros.
Colorado defeated the Lightning last night, 3-2 in OT. i love that Tampa is whining about Colorado having too many men on the ice when the winning goal was scored. hockey karma is a bitch. hopefully, Colorado will win Game 5 tomorrow night and win the Stanley Cup.
AEW Dynamite was excellent last night.

mom is still swollen from one of her falls nearly a month ago. and since she can't lay on her stomach anywhere here and not feel nauseous... she said she is going to call physical therapy today and cancel. i will probably have to run out to Rite Aid today and get her a new heating pad.

the heat today was oppressive for sure. it was classic Ohio in the summer, but it felt like an August heat. the air you can wear. and it was like that from the moment i woke up. of course, i didn't fall asleep to almost 5 in the fucking morning. i was hoping i would get some poems written but that never happened last night. one thing that happens to me in the summer is i have so much other shit i am interested in, the poet in me tends to get lost in the shuffle. every once in a while, i have to blow up that fucker's ego and just go for it. of course, i would love to not have to jump through any fucking hoops. but that utopia has always been foreign to me.
so, the doctor's appointment went well yesterday. my weight was down. my A1C was down. my blood pressure was perfect. hell, the appointment was shorter than the drive there. i will have to do some bloodwork and a urine sample before my next appointment. that is in September.
the baseball cards from Repacked Wax yesterday were excellent. i spent a little under $40 on the 10 packs. there was close to $80 worth of cards in them. that is why i keep buying from them. the best card in the packs was a 1973 Topps Tom Seaver.
the Yankees lost last night down at that dump in Tampa, 5-4. hopefully, they will win the series tonight.
i did watch some of the NHL awards last night. Igor Shesterkin won the Vezina trophy. i have a feeling it won't be the last time he wins it.
NXT was pretty good last night.
Deadliest Catch was really good last night.
Holey Moley was crazy as usual last night.

the grocery shopping went pretty well today. i was able to keep the bill under $100 at Kroger today. that was a minor miracle.
mom's injection worked for the most part. she knows it can't take away all the pain, but it has taken away a good portion of it.
she is going to try to go to physical therapy tomorrow. so, i'm going to try to get the blog done in the morning so i won't be trying to squeeze it in tomorrow night.

just got back home from mom's appointment. the place was way busier than i was hoping for. but, she did get her injection. i am really fucking hoping this gives her some relief from her pain. i got her a Frozen Coke at McDonald's on the way home. so, at least i know she is currently happy.
i've got a little bit to get a little lunch, write this blog and then go to my appointment. joy.
the Yankees won last night down at that dump in Tampa, 4-2. hopefully, they will win again tonight.
the Lightning beat Colorado last night, 6-2, to win Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final. once again, it isn't a series until a home team loses a game.
Monday Night Raw was good last night.
Miz & Mrs was hilarious last night.
Don't Forget the Lyrics was good last night.

my order from Repacked Wax arrived today. i'll open those cards up when i get home from my doctor's appointment.
the first day of summer certainly didn't disappoint when it comes to heat and humidity. the real feel outside is around 100 degrees right now. i guess i'll put on some more Banana Boat (sunscreen lotion) before i leave.
i will be on here tomorrow after i get the grocery shopping done.
of course, if i get a wild hair up my ass tonight and send some poems out, there might be a quick blog post around 2 or 3 in the morning. i am back to the old days of me doing my best work in the middle of the fucking night. good times.

this doesn't happen that much to me anymore (thankfully) but there is a point where my pain in my bad back just becomes too fucking much. and what happens is i usually have to spend most of the day in my massage chair with ice on it and i am fucking useless. now, being my mother's caretaker means useless isn't allowed, which i do understand. so, i don't get to spend as much time in the chair as i would love to, but that's called fucking life. today my bad back has decided it wanted to win. and it has.
the Yankees lost yesterday at Toronto, 10-9. they blew an 8-3 lead. oh well. they will hopefully start a new winning streak tonight at that dump down in Tampa.

i didn't get anything written yesterday. another joy of back pain. my tomorrow is going to be a bit crazy. so, i'm thinking i will get some poems out either late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, before i do the grocery shopping.
i have to take mom to get her injection tomorrow. i'm really hoping this takes and eliminates most of her pain. if not, i get the feeling things are going to get very expensive. and then later in the day, i have a doctor's appointment. hopefully my A1C has gone down. so, i will most likely do the blog in the window between appointments or after my doctor's appointment.
