and thank god mine is dead. enough said.
the Yankees were rained out last night. they play a split doubleheader today in Boston.
AEW Collision was excellent last night.
a delightful trip into the dark mind of an evil genius or simply the musings of an asshole

i am hoping this will be a pretty quiet and good Saturday. other than vacuuming the house, all i really want to do today is get in my massage chair and ice down my bad back.
the New York Yankees got their asses handed to them last night in Boston. they lost 15-5. hopefully, they will do better tonight.
well, since the last time i was on here, some things have happened... i wrote 4 poems yesterday while mom was in her physical therapy session. i typed those up eventually last night. they are pretty good. on the way to lunch after physical therapy, saw a really good car accident. two women, both on the phone, in a construction zone. the jokes write themselves people. mom wanted to have lunch at Lee's. she got a free lunch for her birthday. we ate in the restaurant. it wasn't bad. got back home and was going to go to Kroger last night for mom's pills. she said go on Friday instead. ah, the beauty of hindsight...
so, i got up this morning later than i wanted and put on some cinnamon rolls for mom's birthday breakfast. i had to go to Lowe's to get the garage door lubricant i ran out of. mom wanted me to find her a snake plant. they had everything but that there. after that, i went to Big Lots and found some hockey cards. then, i went to Dollar General and found some baseball cards. after that, i went to the bank to deposit my check. and then finally, i went to Kroger. i had to get mom's pills, a birthday cake and some hand soap. and while i was waiting in line, i got her some alcohol for her birthday. she texted me as i was getting ready to leave the parking lot, wondering where i was. i figured she would enjoy some time alone.
the USMNT defeated Mexico last night, 3-0. the game was ugly, which i was kind of expecting as Mexico has fallen way behind the USA now in soccer. 4 red cards in the game. the USA will play Canada Sunday for the CONCACAF Nations League title, but they will be without McKinnie and Dest. plus, i wasn't thrilled with the news last night that they were hiring the old coach back again.
NJPW was really good last night.
usually, what will happen in the summer is it will start out cool, warm up real fast and then you'll have a chance of thunderstorms in the late afternoon or early evening. rinse and fucking repeat and you have the summers in the midwest. here lately, it is more likely to add in the chance that those storms will get super big or super violent. there is the beauty of a couple generations not believing climate change is real. good times.
the New York Yankees lost last night at the Mets, 4-3, in 10 innings. they are off tonight and start a series at Boston tomorrow night.
my poems "under amber skies", "burned for kindling", "in some mystical place", "covered in snow" and "visible for miles away" have been published at Synchronized Chaos. you can read the poems by going here:

when the guy told me they pulled a nail out from the left rear tire of the Highlander that was probably two inches long, my mind started racing back trying to figure out where the fuck did i run over a nail. thankfully, i was only at the dealership for 40 minutes. they got the nail out, fixed the tire and it cost me a little over $20. definitely better than what i was fearing.
congrats to Las Vegas on winning the Stanley Cup. they destroyed Florida last night, whipping them 9-3.
as many of you know by now, i hate having arthritis. and on days like these, i feel like i am just dragging. but, when you get so fucking used to pain, it always just seems like you are going through the motions. good times.
i did write 4 poems yesterday while mom was in physical therapy. i typed those up and i think they are pretty good. i need to write some more so i can get another batch of poems out to the world.
Monday Night Raw was pretty good last night.
i think i had just got my first load of laundry going in the washer and my iPhone went nuts. when i saw it was for a tornado warning, i thought back to 4 years ago when the last one hit around here. thankfully, it was already past us when the experts on tv were saying the tornado has to be here. we got 1.5 inches of rain in just about 45 minutes. on the bright side, the smell of smoke is gone from the air. and i did get my laundry done, eventually.
the New York Yankees lost last night to Boston, 3-2, in 10 innings. they are off tonight and start a series tomorrow night at the Mets.
i wanted to get up early this morning, but around 8 AM, i felt like i had a knot in my back the size of a gorilla. so, getting out of bed wasn't an option. i eventually got out of bed around 11. i think it is supposed to rain on and off for the rest of the day and night. joy.
the New York Yankees won last night over Boston, 3-1. hopefully, they will win the series tonight.
i did watch the Champions League final yesterday. fucking Manchester City won, 1-0, over Inter Milan.
i did watch some of the MLS games last night.
when i took some mail out to the mailbox last night, it was the first time i could really smell the smoke in the air. i am really hoping the advisory ends tonight as they are expecting.
the New York Yankees lost last night at home to Boston, 3-2. hopefully they will win tonight.
i heard back from Cristina at Synchronized Chaos on my recent poetry submission. my poems "under amber skies", "burned for kindling", "in some mystical place", "covered in snow" and "visible for miles away" have been accepted for publication.
thankfully, it doesn't happen too often, but i do have days where no matter how much i stretch or ice or whatever, my back won't loosen up for anything. these become the days where i slip down a rabbit hole on YouTube and just waste the hours away. fun times.
i did write 4 poems yesterday while mom was doing her physical therapy. i typed those up and really liked them. i will hopefully do a little writing this weekend as well.
the New York Yankees lost the first game of the doubleheader against the White Sox yesterday, 6-5. they won the second game, 3-0. they start a series tonight at home against Boston.

i just sent out 5 poems to Synchronized Chaos. when i hear back from Cristina, i will pass along the verdict.
so, the smoke from the Canadian wildfires are still causing havoc. i have no clue if the Yankees are actually going to play that doubleheader against the White Sox or not. the air still looks crazy as fuck.
here are your highlights from Game 3 of the NBA finals last night. Denver won, 109-94, to go up 2-1 in the series against Miami.
so, the wildfires are fucking up everything. the haze here is bad enough. the scenes from New York are straight out of a fucking movie.
i was saddened when i heard the news about The Iron Sheik dying today. he was absolutely one of my favorite bad guys of all time. thanks for one hell of a ride.
