doing laundry during a tornado warning...

i think i had just got my first load of laundry going in the washer and my iPhone went nuts. when i saw it was for a tornado warning, i thought back to 4 years ago when the last one hit around here. thankfully, it was already past us when the experts on tv were saying the tornado has to be here. we got 1.5 inches of rain in just about 45 minutes. on the bright side, the smell of smoke is gone from the air. and i did get my laundry done, eventually.

the New York Yankees lost last night to Boston, 3-2, in 10 innings. they are off tonight and start a series tomorrow night at the Mets.

i did watch a good portion of the NASCAR race, mostly because the guy i bet to win was leading the race.

VICE was very good last night.

the series finale of Ghosts of Beirut was excellent last night.

i really wanted to like The Idol. after the second episode, i have really no interest in watching the show anymore.

on the DVR tonight will be Monday Night Raw.

Game 5 of the NBA finals is tonight. Denver is up in the series, 3-1.

i will listen to episode 451 of Notsam Wrestling later this afternoon.

i will hopefully write some poems today while mom is in her physical therapy session.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

i should be on here tomorrow in the afternoon.

welcome to the weekend...

so, i got up early this morning to watch the USMNT takes on Japan in a friendly over in Germany. right when i heard that Pulisic wasn't playing for the USA, i should have just gone back to sleep. Japan defeated the USMNT today, 2-0. honestly, the match never felt that close. i was not pleased at how the USA played at all. simply not good enough.

i went to Rite Aid and got my pills after that debacle. thankfully, there was no charge.

the Yankees won last night over Boston, 5-4, in 10 innings. i honestly thought Judge won the game in the bottom of the 9th, but his blast to center field died at the wall. i figure he will get 61 and/or 62 tonight since i can't watch it. the game is on Apple+. with the win last night, the Yankees clinched a playoff spot at the very least. the magic number to clinch the division is 6 i think.

Vice News Tonight had two great episodes this week.

Big Brother was good last night. Brittany got sent to the jury house, as i expected. Turner won the first HOH of the final 3.

NJPW was excellent last night.

Little Demon was fucking crazy last night.

Atlanta was great last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, Smackdown, AEW Rampage, Real Time with Bill Maher and Los Espookys. i'll watch NXT Level Up sometime tonight on Peacock.

i thought i was going to take mom out to look for a new chair today. i think all of yesterday just really drained her. so, that will have to take place on another day. it would probably help if her glasses would come in first and actually help improve her vision.

i should be on here tomorrow in the morning.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. it feels like it is going to be the perfect fall weather for a good weekend.

if looks could kill

so, i went in with my mother this afternoon at her doctor's appointment. the doctor looked a little dumbfounded when she told him that since he agreed with the one doctor on her disability claim, they are it taking it away. he explained to mom that he agreed with the report, but not with what the insurance company used as the basis to take away her claim. he welcomed talking to a lawyer and was really pissed when he found out that the doctor he agreed with actually never did an exam on mom. what amazed me about the visit was all the questions she was asked since she is on Medicare. after the nurse left, i told her to remind me to die before i turn 65. fuck me.

this appointment went on forever it seemed. it was easily over 60 minutes, maybe closer to 90. we went to Smokey Bones for our late lunch/early dinner. this was the first time we had gone in over a year. it was really, really good.

the New York Yankees lost last night to Minnesota, 10-5. of course, Sonny Gray was pitching. hopefully, the Yankees win tonight so they win the series and can maintain their lead for the first wildcard. they have just about pissed that away as well.

the USMNT defeated Mexico last night, 1-0 in Nashville. Tyler Adams scored his first international goal for the win. it's appropriate that a guy that plays for New York would score the winning goal on 9/11.

Smackdown was really good last night.

205 Live was good last night.

the season finale of Fuck That's Delicious was great last night.

Mayans M.C. was excellent last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Lucha Underground, Big Brother, Mr. Mercedes and American Horror Story. i'll watch NXT and the Mae Young Classic sometime tonight on WWE Network.

we've got just about everything moved away from the windows for tomorrow. we just have some stuff to move in the kitchen and that will get done tonight. all the blinds and curtains are down. i'm hoping the weather is really nice tomorrow and they can knock it out in a day. i know that's not likely, but i don't mind dreaming.

i've been keeping an eye on this damn hurricane. the muse lives down where this fucker is heading, so i'm a little more serious about following the track than normal. so far, this little turn it has taken has given me some relief, but not as much as i would like.

the window guys are supposed to be here between 8 and 10 in the morning. hopefully, i'll get to sleep before 3 in the morning like it has been for the last few nights.

i'll do a blog sometime tomorrow. your guess is as good as mine.
