disjointed sleep, but i got a poem out of it...

this is what my life has become. trying to sleep but only getting 25 to 35 minutes of it, and then waking up and wondering why? i said fuck it last night and actually wrote a poem instead of just trying to get some useless sleep. now, the poem was great, but it didn't help me sleep any. oh well.

grocery shopping went pretty good today. i got an earlier start than normal. i was all done by 1:45. hell, there are some Wednesdays i am only getting started by that time. between yesterday and today, i think i got everything we needed and kept it under $200.

so, when i was last on here Manchester United was losing at halftime at home to Aston Villa, 2-0. well, i don't know what ETH said at halftime, but they came out as a different fucking team and it showed. Garnacho scored 2 goals to tie the game and then Rasmus Hojlund scored his first Premier League goal and United won, 3-2. the kids are starting to play all the time now and i love when that happens.

NXT last night was pretty good.

Inside the NFL was very good last night.

Hard Knocks was great last night.

here are your NBA highlights from last night:

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be AEW Dynamite.

the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Washington.

i believe mom has physical therapy tomorrow afternoon. if so, i will be on here after we get back home.

i will hopefully have some poems to type up.

i need to get the trash picked up and get started on dinner.

that's all for me kids...

until tomorrow...

welcome to the weekend...

i didn't get to bed until 5 this morning. i swear, when i get the creative juices going, there is no stopping. i wrote 8 poems yesterday while mom was getting her haircut. i typed those poems up last night and then tried to figure out where my next round of submissions will be going. in a perfect world, those poems would have gone out today. as you know by now, they haven't. i'm hoping to get them out sometime this weekend.

i hate the new Blogger format by the way. it truly fucking sucks.

NXT UK was another best of last night.

Vice News Tonight had another great week of shows.

i'm now writing this blog on the old format, so much fucking easier to use. but of course, Google will always find a way to fuck something up by making it "improved".

Desus & Mero was fucking hilarious last night.

Cake was awesome last night.

Holey Moley was pretty funny last night.

Don't was good last night.

i did watch some of the Columbus Blue Jackets last night. they had an incredible OT victory over Toronto after the Maple Leafs blew a 3 goal lead. i'll laugh my ass off if Toronto gets eliminated tonight.

Nani scored 2 goals last night to lead Orlando over Minnesota, 3-1. so the finals of the MLS is Back tournament will be Portland vs. Orlando.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, Real Time with Bill Maher and Room 104. i'll watch 205 Live sometime tonight on WWE Network.

the Yankees start a series tonight down in that dump in Tampa. they lost last night to the Phillies, 5-4. i'd love to see them win this series with a couple laughers.

i'll probably watch some of the NHL games tonight, as many of the games could be series deciding games.

i'll probably check out some NBA games tonight as well.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i think the Yankees play a doubleheader tomorrow, so i'm hoping to be on here before the first game.

that's all for me kids.

i finally got the package i ordered in July that had the sleeves for the baseball cards. so, i whittled down this box i have. i'm going to have to make another order soon. i might have to sell some cards to be able to do that.

i hope everyone has a great weekend.

until tomorrow kids...

hoping for a lazy Sunday...

i got some sleep last night, at least that's what i am going to call it. i went to bed after drinking some Jack Daniels and listening to LCD Soundsystem. i figured the emails could wait until the morning, all 147 of them.

the New York Yankees won both games of the doubleheader yesterday against the Royals, 7-3, 6-5. hopefully, they will sweep the series this afternoon.

here are your highlights from the NBA playoffs last night:

i did watch the AEW pre-show last night and saw some of the highlights from Double or Nothing. i loved what i saw. it strengthens my hope that AEW will be a great alternative to WWE. and having a nice shock ending doesn't hurt.

ROH was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Our Cartoon President, Billions and The Chi.

i will probably watch a good portion of the Indy 500 and the NASCAR race tonight as well.

Canada plays Finland this afternoon in the Gold Medal game of the Hockey World Championships. Russia won the bronze this morning over the Czech Republic.

20 years ago today was one of the greatest days of my life as a Manchester United fan.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully, your Sunday will be even better.

i have no clue when i will be on here on Memorial Day. i'm shooting for before the Yankees play on Monday afternoon.

never forget

to everyone who has served this nation, died in battle, wounded, scarred mentally for your entire lives, etc., happy Veteran's Day. i heard a veteran say last night that never forget means more to a veteran than thanks for your service. so, never forget.

yesterday was one of those days where i laugh that i'm still alive in 2018.

Ohio State defeated Michigan St. yesterday in a god awful game. as soon as i saw Gus Johnson was calling the game, i knew some crazy shit was going to happen. sure enough, Ohio State's punter was easily the best player in the game. it was like the team turned back the clock a decade. and i love that Michigan St. talked all this shit this past week about revenge and could only score 6 points. Ohio State won 26-6.

the Dayton Flyers destroyed Coppin State last night, 76-46. i went to the game alone and honestly, might have said 5 words the entire time i was there. the game was really fucking boring. the conversations around me were as boring. hell, the only excitement for me was the old white woman next to me that had her ass up against my leg for the entire first half. most action i've got in years.

the New York Rangers won in Columbus last night, 5-4 in a shootout. the Rangers have got points in 6 straight games. that's much better than i was fearing this season would start.

Shut Up and Dribble was excellent last night. it went over the LA riots and really focused on Michael Jordan's inaction during the time, and how Craig Hodges and Mahmoud Abdul Rauf got blackballed out of the league for voicing their concerns. i lived through all of this and remember it way too well.

Saturday Night Live was very funny last night.

Austin City Limits was excellent last night.

ROH was really good last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Axios, Camping, Last Week Tonight, Ray Donovan and the season finale of Kidding.

Manchester United plays Manchester City today. if United wins, not only will i be pleasantly shocked, i will be drunk for the rest of the weekend.

the New Orleans Saints play today down the road from me against the Bengals. hopefully, the Saints will keep their winning streak going today.

the muse and i had a fascinating conversation last night that lasted until 4 in the morning. that certainly brought back some memories.

i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. i know most things will be closed to observe Veteran's Day. and, i want to get some writing done. so, probably late afternoon maybe, maybe sooner.

i hope everyone had a great Saturday. hopefully, your Sunday will be even better.

no good deed goes unpunished...

so i went next door to do the trash yesterday and my aunt said to leave the garage door open when i left. no problem i told her as i handed her her mail. i walked back out to the garage and there was the cousin that molested me getting out of her SUV. well, hello, how are you doing? i swear if she would have tried to touch me i would be asking to write this from jail today. i kind of just mumbled some bullshit and she went into the house. i tried to get finished as quickly as i could. it's this kind of shit that will make sure i hate life until i am finished with it.

a little poetry news to pass on. i heard back from Easy Street on my poetry submission from a few weeks ago. they decided to pass. i just love the first email i open up in the morning being a rejection letter. kind of just tells you to buckle up asshole, it's going to be a bumpy one. so, i'm going to take those 5 that were rejected and 3 others and add them to the submission pile for tomorrow (hopefully).

the New York Yankees scored early and often last night, defeating the Tigers 13-4. Gary Sanchez had a monster night and for the first time in 37 games, Aaron Judge didn't have a strikeout. hopefully they can get another win tonight.

Smackdown was pretty good last night. i love that Bobby Roode is now on the show. and i can't wait to see what happens with Shelton Benjamin finally being back in WWE. i think it's pretty obvious they are going to have a Shane McMahon vs. Kevin Owens match sometime soon. i think they missed the boat though by not putting Sami Zayn and Kevin back together. that could have been amazing.

205 Live was pretty good last night as well. i can't wait to see Neville beat the shit out of Enzo on a weekly basis.

Hard Knocks was good last night. it was a short episode, which tells me that Tampa is full of boring ass guys.

Deadliest Catch was sad as fuck last night. i don't think any reality show has dealt with death better than this one.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother, Mr. Mercedes, Snowfall and Lucha Underground. i'll watch NXT sometime tonight on WWE Network.

i had to take mom to get some blood work done today for her upcoming cataract surgeries. after that, she wanted to go out to lunch. we went to this sports bar that she likes that we used to go to all the time before she had her hip replaced. lunch was pretty good but i think all of it was a little much for mom. i'm hoping she will start to feel much better once she can actually see again.

i'm really interested to see what group Manchester United is going to end up in tomorrow in the Champions League draw. all i'm hoping for is close games so they don't have a ton of travel and avoid the group of death. please.

the heating and air guy was out here today. everything looks good with the air conditioner. pretty soon, it will be fucking winter i suppose.

i guess school started back up here today. i guess i will have to start driving the speed limit in town again.

i might have the artsy fartsy juices flowing again. i have stacks of magazines and poster boards and scissors. what could possibly happen?

i'll be on here sometime in the afternoon most likely. hopefully i will get the poems out in the morning.

playing a losing game...

i have noticed on the nights i do get to drink, the alcohol in the glass is getting higher and higher. i know my father had the alcoholic gene, as did probably all of his fathers before him, so i know my future. i suppose i'm simply trying to fool myself into thinking i'm being responsible about it all. whatever. before long i'll be the drunk writing on my back porch, bitching about the kids to stay off my fucking lawn.

i did write a couple poems this morning. i typed up those two and the one from the other day this afternoon. i think they are pretty good. i'm thinking i might really go through the unpublished file again and try to find some hidden gems. i do plan another round of submissions before August ends.

the New York Yankees pounded out 17 hits last night and beat Toronto 11-5. hopefully they still have some more left in those bats and win the series tonight.

i got some great FREE music on NoiseTrade this morning. i highly recommend checking it out.
Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real - Find Yourself EP

Big Brother was pretty good last night. Jessica will get evicted tonight and hopefully there will be fireworks. of course, i won't be able to see the show until 2 in the morning because of preseason football. so i guess i will be following online.

Mr. Mercedes was fucking awesome last night. i think i am really going to enjoy this show.

Snowfall was excellent last night.

Lucha Underground was really good last night.

NXT was a little light on wrestling but did an excellent job selling just how good Takeover: Brooklyn could be this year.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, Big Brother, Weekend Update and The Chris Gethard Show.

the reason Big Brother will be on later here is the game between the Cleveland Browns and New Orleans Saints. hopefully the Saints win and don't have any injuries.

i believe today is mom's last physical therapy session for her hip. the hip has healed really good. the problem she has is her muscles in her right leg are so damn weak that she has problems doing the little things. i told her she might have to do a little electric stimulation on those muscles to help the process. but, what do i know...

i did listen to the latest Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast today. you can check that out by going here:

it's supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow.. hit or miss back to Summer showers i suppose. at some point, i know i need to hit the grocery store. i have pills to pick up for myself and mom. that's probably $100 right there.

i guess i should actually check the mailbox sometime before i take mom to her session. i guess i have spent most of the day here in my room. hello depression, my name is...
