i think the rain is supposed to stop by tonight. not that i'm going out to celebrate New Year's Eve or anything. those moments are light years behind me now. trying to manage my arthritis is enough excitement for me anymore.
Smackdown and NXT Level Up were both really good last night.
AEW Rampage was good last night.
i did watch some college football last night:
so, the rain kept me up until 5 this morning. i didn't watch any of the Manchester United game since i didn't wake up until a little after 9. thankfully, they won over Wolves, 1-0.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
nothing on the DVR tonight.
the New York Knicks play tonight in Houston.
here are your NBA highlights from last night:
the Dayton Flyers play this afternoon at Davidson.
team USA plays Finland today at the World Juniors. the winner of the game will win first place in the group.
Ohio State plays Georgia tonight in the Peach Bowl. the winner of the game will play the winner of TCU vs. Michigan for the national championship.
i'm sure i will watch some other college basketball and football games today. hell, probably some hockey and soccer as well.
i should be on here tomorrow before the New Orleans Saints play.
i hope everyone has a great and safe New Year's Eve.
and may 2023 be a great year for all of us.

i swear, the rain has been just enough today to make my back feel like an elephant has strapped himself to me and just won't let go. these are the days where i think there isn't enough heroin in the world to take this pain away. joy.
i did have a lovely conversation last night with the Spanish princess. i can imagine if i lived closer to her, what adventures my life would be filled with now. i think both of us dream about what could be, though we both know the odds are so fucking stacked against us, how many times do we really want to roll that ball up the mountain?
the New York Rangers lost last night in Tampa in a shootout, 2-1. that was beyond fucking frustrating to watch, but at least they got a point out of the game.
team USA won at the World Juniors yesterday, defeating Switzerland, 5-1. that sets up a winner take the group game tomorrow against Finland.
the New York Knicks lost last night in San Antonio, 122-115.

i have my favorite songs of the year lined up for tomorrow's blog. it is a pretty eclectic mix i believe.
tomorrow is going to be one of the crazy days for me that has sports on from the moment i wake up until i probably go to sleep. i should be on here tomorrow after Manchester United plays in the morning.
hard to believe yet another year is coming to an end. hard to believe i'm not dead, hard to believe my mother has cheated death again, hard to believe the words still find me from time to time, hard to believe that i still have to burn fucking bridges in 2022. luckily for me, there won't be many left after this year, so... while i know it won't be smooth sailing ahead, i feel like i am in a much better position to actually do something about it. and in two days i can finally legally gamble on sports in this small minded redneck bible thumping state... time to see if i still have the smarts to turn $20 into $400 like i did so many years ago.
more on that in 2023. i am ready for 2022 to be over. hopefully, it goes out with a bang.

right as i was going to start writing this blog, the breaking news came across that Pele has died. needless to say, he was one of the greatest to EVER play soccer. i have seen the old tapes of him playing, and he simply put, was a fucking genius. i know a nation is weeping and millions of fans are as well. rest in peace, Pele. you have earned ever single word of praise and then some.
now, let's get to what happened yesterday.
team USA lost yesterday at the World Juniors to Slovakia, 6-3. they play Switzerland today in a game they really need to win.
the Dayton Flyers won last night at home over Duquesne, 69-57.
AEW Dynamite last night was excellent.
Hard Knocks was good last night.
enjoy some music:

the New York Knicks play tonight in San Antonio.
here are your NBA highlights from last night:
the New York Rangers play tonight at Tampa Bay.
i did go to Big Lots today and found some cards. i got 4 packs of baseball cards, two packs of basketball cards and one pack of football cards. i got some really nice hits including some great rookie cards, a couple numbered cards and one autographed card. i think it was a well spent $45.
i should be on here tomorrow in the morning. i think the monsoon starts tonight. it looks like it is going to rain for days. at least, it certainly fucking feels like it.

i was up early this morning, ready to go. and then i noticed i didn't take my pills last night with dinner. oh great. so i took those immediately before i had breakfast and took my breakfast pills a little later. i haven't forgotten to take pills in god knows how long. but, i wasn't surprised when my back started killing me later in the morning. the weather has turned again and everything is melting. between my back and a headache, i knew that getting to the grocery store early wasn't going to happen today. eventually, i did make it to all the stores. i got everything that was on the list and kept it at a somewhat reasonable price given the world these days.
so, when i got home, team USA at the World Juniors was winning against Slovakia, 2-1. they are currently losing to Slovakia, 4-2, in the 3rd period. i'm not happy.
Manchester United won 3-0 yesterday against Nottingham Forest. Rashford, Martial and Fred were the goal scorers. it was a pretty easy game for United and a great way to get back in the swing of things.
the New York Rangers had their asses handed to them last night at home against Washington, losing 4-0. at least their coach called them out after the game.
the New York Knicks lost in Dallas last night, 126-121 in OT. Luka Doncic had one of the most amazing games in the history of the NBA last night. 60 points, 21 rebounds and 10 assists. that is one of those HOLY SHIT triple doubles.
here are your NBA highlights from last night:
NXT was very good last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be AEW Dynamite and Hard Knocks.
Dayton plays at home tonight against Duquesne. they are 8.5 point favorites. hopefully they start the A10 schedule off with a win.
Slovakia is now up 5-2.
i might watch some college football tonight, not sure. bowl season is starting to really ramp up now.
i'm going to try to be on here tomorrow before the USA plays Switzerland at the World Juniors.
i need to get going and get started on dinner tonight.

so, it looks like it is going to be nearly 30 degrees warmer here in a couple of days. i know damn well all of this ice and snow will be melted by then. i swear, the weather in Ohio is meant to make sure everyone just stays sick. the guy that does our driveway did a pretty good job yesterday. and he charged mom less than he said he was going to, which was nice as well. mom called more pills in to Kroger, so i'm waiting to make sure all those are done before i go out and get them. hell, i might as well just wait until i do the grocery shopping tomorrow.
i did watch that Ric Flair documentary on Peacock last night. it was very good.
Monday Night Raw was good last night.
at the World Juniors yesterday, the USA defeated Latvia, 5-2.
i did listen to episode 427 of Notsam Wrestling last night. you can hear that by going here:
i heard back from Cristina at Synchronized Chaos on my recent poetry submission. my poems "a sense of calm", "much better off", "searching for a vein", "enjoy it while they can" and "that first kiss" have been accepted for publication.
so, Christmas went pretty good yesterday. i think mom really liked what i got her. we had some really good food yesterday as well. now here is where the dysfunction kicked in. i took her blood pressure last night and for the first time in eons, it was where it was supposed to be. her first thought was that she was dying. that stunned me and i am a pessimist most of the time. for her to react to good news like that on Christmas was baffling to me. but, this does explain why anytime i get good news i'm always looking for when the other shoe to drop instead of enjoying it.
the New York Knicks lost yesterday at home to Philadelphia, 119-112.
here are your NBA highlights from Christmas Day:
i did watch some of all 3 football games yesterday:
George & Tammy was excellent last night.

so, i watched the temperature drop 40 fucking degrees in just a few hours last night. the winds were so bad, they were blowing open the door to our garage inside of our house. i believe our high today was -2 degrees. i haven't bothered to venture outside to see if a paper or the mail have been delivered. i highly doubt either have. the guy who mom picked to do our driveway showed up this morning and asked if we wanted it done. mom said no, as it didn't look like we got much snow (less than 3 inches) and we weren't planning on going anywhere.
but, i did do a little creative shit today. some of you have seen the first fruits of that, with my latest SoundCloud recording. look for another little nugget of gold late tonight most likely.
the New York Rangers won last night over the Islanders, 5-3. they came from behind for this win and that made me very happy.
i did watch some of the Jets vs. Jaguars game last night. let's just say there was really no reason to watch after halftime.
NJPW was excellent last night.
here are your NBA highlights from last night:

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown, AEW Rampage and the final two episodes of Random Acts of Flyness. i'll watch NXT Level Up sometime tonight on Peacock.
the New York Knicks play tonight at home against Chicago.
i think we're going to make some pasta tonight. i'm slowly getting better at doing that by myself. i like to think i can multi-task, but cooking with 3 or 4 burners going gets a little stressful for me still.
we have a windchill warning until tomorrow afternoon, so i'm going to guess it will be another day indoors. of course, there will be plenty of NFL games on tomorrow. i'm going to try to be on here before the Saints play at the Browns.
i hope the weather is better where you are. i hope you are warm and have all your Christmas shopping done. i wish all of you a great weekend.

the weather is going to get fucking crazy here in a few hours. the rain is going to turn to snow, heavy at times, the wind is going to become ferocious and the temperatures are going to drop like crazy. like from 41 to a feels like -30. good times.
at least mom's new chair got here this morning. she got duped a bit as she thought the $40 she was paying extra was for them to take the old chair. actually, it was $40 for them to move it out of the room and put it somewhere else. i opened the garage door and told them to put it in there. i know damn well the store never made it clear that was what the fee was actually for. so, i imagine this might be the last time we use Med Mart for awhile.
AEW Dynamite was really good last night.
Hard Knocks was pretty good last night.
Homeward Bound: A Grammy Salute To The Songs of Paul Simon was excellent last night.
enjoy some music:

i did see some of the Yankees press conference today introducing Carlos Rodon.
the New York Rangers play tonight at home against the Islanders.
the New York Knicks lost last night at home to Toronto, 113-106.
here are your NBA highlights from last night:
i will probably watch some of the Jets vs. Jaguars NFL game tonight. mom is a Jets fan.
i need to get going on dinner tonight. i'm going to try to make the home equivalent of the Arby's Beef and Cheddar. this is going to be interesting to say the least.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i'm hoping we actually have power tomorrow. mom has a guy lined up to do the driveway and sidewalks if we get a ton of snow. i'm hoping it isn't too bad, but i know if we get any snow and have those crazy ass winds, it is going to be a fucking mess.

so, i did get to the grocery store early today and made it back home in time to watch Manchester United. more on that in a bit. i tried my best to keep the grocery bill reasonable considering the list i was given was more like a scroll. i ended up saving $41 so the total of $209 was a little more palpable. so, we are fully stocked now. i wanted to do that just in case the weather truly turns to shit in the next few days. we're only supposed to get a few inches of snow, but when that is falling and the wind is blowing 60 MPH, i know it is going to be fucking crazy. and apparently everyone else shopping today was thinking the same thing. but, at least this time Kroger had more than two checkout lanes going.
Manchester United won today over Burnley in the League Cup, 2-0.
the New York Knicks won last night at home over Golden State, 132-94. they play Toronto at home tonight.
here are your NBA highlights from last night:
