it was one of those days. i tossed and turned until 6 this morning. i finally fell asleep and woke up at 10. joy. made some coffee, had some breakfast and then didn't make it to the toilet in time. fuck me. so, i had a little laundry to do. these are the days where i just shake my head and realize the 8 year old me was the smartest one i knew. for those of you who wonder why i always reference that... it was at 8 years old that i first thought of suicide. and given all the pain, rejection and endless amounts of effort put into this world for nothing... imagine all of that being spared and ceasing to exist. i don't want to make suicide this glamorous thing because it isn't. i have people i love that have done it or even tried it. but, i never judge anyone that chooses that route. not my place to do that. mostly because, i have been there and if my circumstances would have been different, i would have done it. i tried it once at 17, but didn't know at that point in my life you need to snuff out the will to live to accomplish your goal. now, at 48, i know such things. but i don't think i have the strength, unless i am a few bottles of Jack Daniels in, to snuff out the will. but, i do know i am capable. so, i tuck it away like an Irish goodbye. don't worry, i have too many irons in the fire to do something like that right now. the light still makes it through the darkness. when that changes, then worry.
i did catch a little of the Oscars last night.
the series finale of Hightown was good. the show was crazy and while i hope there will be a spin off, i won't be shocked when there isn't.
The Regime was fucking crazy last night.
Curb Your Enthusiasm was fucking hilarious last night.
Last Week Tonight was BRILLIANT as usual.

i think i got a little sleep last night. i was almost too tired to masturbate. almost. when i got up this morning, it was just before Manchester United and Everton was getting ready to play. more on that in a bit.
when Dayton got down 17 to VCU yesterday, i was pissed. thankfully, Dayton calmed down, started getting stops and started making shots. Dayton didn't lead in the game until there was 5 minutes left in the second half. Dayton won last night, 91-86 in OT. Dayton finished the season undefeated at home. VCU will get the 5th seed in the A10 tournament.
Smackdown and NXT Level Up were both very good last night.
AEW Rampage was good last night.
Real Time with Bill Maher was hilarious last night.
Manchester United won 2-0 this morning over Everton. honestly, Everton was the better team for most of the game, but United won two penalties and Bruno and Rashford both scored.

i might have got 2 hours of sleep after i took a shower last night. i couldn't find a position where my back wasn't hurting. and of course, when i did fall asleep, mom woke me up as i guess she was having a bad dream. most of the time, she thinks there are spiders or snakes on her. good times. as i was getting ready to take her to her appointment today. she told she had to call them and cancel. she wasn't feeling good. now, she goes next Friday. that meant i got to watch the trade deadline coverage from the NHL this afternoon. the New York Rangers made a few minor moves. they held on to their top prospects and first round pick. so, time will tell if the players they got will work for them.
oh, and add in that it has been fucking raining all day long.
Young Sheldon was very good last night.
NJPW was excellent last night.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight at home against VCU. if Dayton wins, they will finish the season undefeated at home. they will be the #3 seed in the A10 tournament regardless. VCU needs the win to finish in the top 4. top 4 seeds in the A10 tournament get a double bye. game is on ESPN2.
a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poem:
i'm not exactly sure why i didn't sleep well last night. i tried to make up for it this afternoon. but, sleeping in two hour increments isn't exactly what i need at the moment. oh well.

i didn't get to sleep until 5 this morning. when i got out of bed a little after 10, it was still raining. more of a mild drizzle than anything, but to anyone with arthritis, a drizzle is basically being in a monsoon. add in that a good portion of Brookville is under construction, and you can imagine my stress level today. although, i did see a black cheerleader at the local grocery store today. maybe Brookville is actually approaching the 20th century now.
the Dayton Flyers won last night at Saint Louis, 100-83. Dayton was without their starting point guard, so i was pleasantly surprised that the offense was humming last night. of course, Saint Louis absolutely sucks this year. Dayton will have their senior night at home on Friday against VCU.
we had some storms move through here last night, so i wasn't able to see A Revolution on Canvas. hopefully, it will be able to record tonight on HBO2.
NXT was very good last night.
The Voice was good last night.

i knew i was in for it today when i woke up in the middle of a thunderstorm. i ached like a motherfucker. still do. joy.
well, the New York Rangers lost last night at home to Florida, 4-2. to be honest, i think the Rangers need a center, a right wing and a defensive defenseman. and i think they will probably have to give up their first round pick in the draft to get 2 of those positions. if they don't, i honestly can't see them winning more than one round in the playoffs. trade deadline is this Friday.
The Voice was very good last night. hopefully, it will be tonight as well.
Monday Night Raw was good last night.

a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poem:
mom actually wanted to go out and walk this afternoon. i told her it was a good day to do that. it was in the low 70's with a bit of wind. we walked for a little over 10 minutes. we probably could have done more but someone forgot to taker her pain pills before we started. i did go outside a little bit yesterday. i fixed our chimes that the wind tried to destroy the other night and i filled all the bird feeders. on top of all that, i wrote 3 poems yesterday afternoon. those are the first poems of March.
The Regime last night was pretty crazy.
Curb Your Enthusiasm was very funny last night.
Last Week Tonight was BRILLIANT as usual.

i went to bed pretty late last night, knowing that is the only way i actually sleep past 9 AM. i did that mostly because i was fearing the worst today in the Manchester derby. for the first 45 minutes, i was pleasantly surprised as United was up 1-0 at halftime thanks to a Marcus Rashford screamer. after halftime, that was when the absolute gulf in talent showed up. to be honest, i turned the game off when City took the lead. hell, i went out to my massage chair, and hoped for the best. of course, that didn't happen. Manchester City won the derby, 3-1. i am hopeful the new people in charge at Manchester United truly understand the massive job ahead for them. while i am not sure if a new manager is what the team needs, i am 100% sure they need new and better players. the sooner the better.
last night, the New York Rangers lost at Toronto, 4-3 in a shootout. at least they got a point out of the game.
AEW Collision was good last night.
Saturday Night Live was hilarious last night:

the Dayton Flyers lost last night at Loyola Chicago, 77-72. considering that Dayton lost their starting point guard and had a ton of turnovers, the score was closer than what it should be. at least i got the over correct.

i heard back from Dave at Black Coffee Review on my poetry submission from back in November. my poem "the last remnants of hope" has been accepted for publication in the spring issue.
of course, it had to be raining today since i had things to do. but, the beauty of being stubborn is sometimes you can block everything out; pain, common sense, whatever... i did make it to the bank this afternoon to make a deposit. after that, i went to Meijer, which is just down the road a bit from where i bank. i found just about everything i was looking for and kept it under $50. it was raining all the way home. what i hate about living in Brookville is when it does rain, no one goes the speed limit. the absolute joy i have going 35 in a 50 and 100% of the time, it is an elderly person that shouldn't be behind the wheel at all anymore. fuck me.
