so, as i was struggling to fall asleep last night, i saw the national weather service put out a winter storm warning for where i live. from Sunday at 10 AM to Monday at midnight. 5 to 9 inches of snow. well fuck me. i doubt mom goes to her appointment with her foot doctor on Monday.
Smackdown was excellent last night.
Inside the NFL was really good last night.
i did write 3 poems last night. 2 for the book and 1 for the general file. so far, i do like that i have been able to come up with something every night of 2025. fingers crossed.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be AEW Collision.
the Dayton Flyers play today at George Washington.
the New York Rangers play at the Capitals today.
team USA takes on Czechia tonight at the World Juniors. winner will play for gold, loser will play for bronze.
i will probably watch some of both NFL games today. Browns at Ravens, Bengals at Steelers.
i hope everyone has a great weekend.
i hope the weather is warmer where you are.
until tomorrow kids...

it snowed overnight here. nothing too bad, but i'm guessing it is a precursor of what is to come this weekend. i wrote 3 poems last night. 1 for the book and 2 for what i guess i am calling the general submissions folder. if i can keep this going, i might actually meet my goal of having this book ready to send to the publisher by late spring/early summer.
team USA defeated Switzerland yesterday at the World Juniors, 7-2. they will play Czechia on Saturday, who knocked out Canada last night for the second year in a row.
the New York Rangers won last night at home over Boston, 2-1.
Notre Dame defeated Georgia, 23-10, to advance to the college football playoffs seminfinals.

on the DVR tonight will be Smackdown and Inside the NFL.
i have a doctor's appointment this afternoon. after that, i need to go to the grocery store to pick up my prescription and get whatever is on the list.
i will most likely be on here tomorrow in the morning. the Dayton Flyers play on the road tomorrow at noon.
i know we're supposed to have a big winter storm coming through on Sunday night. if that does happen, i'm guessing the grocery store will be a fresh slice of hell today.
that's all for me today kids...

i watched the Ohio State game last night, really hoping they were going to destroy Oregon and rub their noses in it. when Ohio State got up 34-0 i was so fucking happy. they ended up winning the Rose Bowl, 41-21. they will play in the semifinals of the college football playoff against Texas, which survived Arizona St, 39-31 in 2OT.
AEW Dynamite was good last night.
Orkin came out today to check the traps. i told the guy i think one of them went off as i could hear the trap hitting up against something in the attic. sure enough, there was one squirrel in one of the traps. he used some of my suet as bait to put in the other trap to see if anything else is up there.

nothing on the DVR tonight.
team USA takes on Switzerland today at the World Juniors.
the New York Rangers play tonight at home against Boston. hopefully, they will find a way to win.
the Sugar Bowl is today between Georgia and Notre Dame. winner plays Penn State in the other semifinal of the college football playoff.
amazingly, they had the trash and recyclables picked up before 11 AM today. now, i have to put all the plastics and cardboard that wouldn't fit because they forgot to pick them up last week, into the now empty bin.
i did write one poem last night for the upcoming book. i was hoping for more, but i think that might come tonight.
i am going to try to be on here tomorrow in the morning before my doctor's appointment in the afternoon. i think after that appointment i need to get the rest of the grocery shopping done.
that's all for me kids.

i didn't get to sleep last night until 5 this morning. i did manage to write 3 poems last night. more on that in a bit. i woke up around 9:45 this morning and checked my phone. i believe the first words were what the fuck. being 48 years old, i'm no longer surprised by the violence, or the lack of humanity anymore. what really pisses me off anymore is how this country turns a blind eye to homegrown terrorists. we still operate with this mentality that our enemies are nations, etc. i always thought this was why we could never win in Vietnam. we don't understand guerillas or the lone wolfs that get radicalized. and we still don't. the Sugar Bowl tonight between Georgia and Notre Dame has been postponed to tomorrow night. i'm sure the death total will rise and lord knows how many IEDs they are going to find around the French Quarter. the terrorist in question is 42 years old and an American citizen. from Texas of course. just fucking crazy...
so, on the 3 poems i wrote last night. i need to write about 40 poems that will be for my new book, untitled as of now. John Patrick Robbins from The Rye Whiskey Review wants to publish a book of poems of mine. i have always enjoy working with JPR, so i am definitely going to jump at this opportunity. so, i basically am going to write poems for the book specifically that no one will see until the book is published. i also am going to try to write poems for the places i send to as well. what this actually means is i won't be sleeping for the next 5 months. good times.
i finished the grocery shopping yesterday and got home in time to watch the second half of Dayton vs. LaSalle. Dayton won the game 84-70.
team USA defeated Canada last night, 4-1, to win Group A at the World Juniors. the USA will play Switzerland on Thursday in the quarterfinals.
oh goody, now the FBI believes the terrorist, who was in the US Army by the way at some point, didn't act alone in this. why do i think this is now becoming an old episode of Homeland?
the college football playoff game last night between Penn State and Boise St. was won by Penn State, 31-14.
NXT last night was ok.
Hard Knocks last night was very good.
Texas is leading Arizona St. 17-3 at halftime in their college football playoff game today.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be AEW Dynamite.
Ohio State tries to get its revenge today against Oregon in the Rose Bowl. winner will play the winner of the Texas vs. Arizona St. game in the semifinals of the college football playoffs.
i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow. i know at some point i need to get my driving license renewed before my birthday on the 21st. i also have a doctor's appointment on Friday. joy.
a big thank you to everyone for checking out my first published poems of 2025:
i hope 2025 is a great year for all of us. i know that is impossible as so many of us tend to slip through the cracks of this world. i just hope this blog can continue to be a little ray of whatever you need it to be to keep your head above water.
