so, i overslept this morning and got up at 9. i wanted to be up earlier, just in case the guys got here early for the kitchen. thankfully, they got here around 10. mom overslept as well. one of the guys involved in the project lives in town, so that will be rather convenient. he's also a New Orleans Saints fan, so that is rare around here. i think i now know 3 Saints fans in this town. they got all the countertops measured and were gone in about a hour. i then had to run up to Kroger because mom forgot to tell me she had pills ready to be picked up. i got back in plenty of time to get mom to her doctor's appointment. now, when my mother is stressed or anxious, she becomes a chatty Kathy. the doctor's appointment was at 2:20. we got out of there at 3:53. and i reminded mom this whole appointment was to know her A1C and go over her bloodwork. did she discuss either of those with the doctor? nope. this is the kind of shit that truly tests my patience. then, after the appointment, she wanted a frozen coke. 5 minutes later, she didn't want one, just wanted to go home. 3 minutes after that, she changed her mind again and told me to go to Burger King. she got a frozen coke and a Whopper Jr. she thanked me on the way home for being patient and knows she is driving me up a wall. i laughed and said i believe this is why you said i would make a great wife for someone someday. she always hates that i remember every fucking time she emasculated me and pissed me off to the nth degree. welcome to my life.

AEW Dynamite was very good last night.

issue 1 and issue 2 passed yesterday here in Ohio. it truly made me laugh as i live around a bunch of backward thinking biblical fucks who still have their vote no signs up in their yards. issue 1 puts abortion into the state constitution. issue 2 legalizes recreational marijuana. now, i figure the republicans in this state will fuck this up and basically make it impossible for anyone to actually have the marijuana. if they were smart, they would legalize and then collect the taxes and watch the debt go away. but, given that these dumb fucks still believe it is a gateway drug, they will never do that. and honestly, i need the weed for my pain. mostly because if i find out the weed doesn't help, then i will need to find a morphine drip.
when i got home from the grocery store today, Manchester United was up 2-0 in the Champions League. i mistakenly thought that this was going to be a good day. throw in a Marcus Rashford red card and once again a defense that can't defend and United lost to Copenhagen, 4-3. they are in last place of their group. fuck me.
the New York Rangers won last night at home over Detroit, 5-3.
NXT was very good last night.
Inside the NFL was very good last night.
both episodes of Welcome to Wrexham were excellent last night. the season finale is next week.
Name That Tune was pretty good last night.
The Voice was really good last night.
Big Brother was good last night. i know Matt won the first HOH and Jag won the second HOH. so, the final HOH of the season will come down to the two best players this season and see if one of them is smart enough to cut the other and take Bowie Jane to the final 2.
enjoy some music:

the Columbus Crew lost last night at Atlanta, 4-2. they will now have to play Game 3 in Columbus, winner advances, loser goes home.

i should be on here whenever i get back home from the doctor's appointment.
a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poem:
i'm really hoping issue 1 (abortion) and 2 (marijuana) passes in Ohio tonight. if not, i might actually really think about leaving the state i have lived in for 47 years.
i wrote 3 poems today while mom was doing her physical therapy. i typed those up this afternoon. i will hopefully get some poems out by this weekend.

so, mom got a call yesterday that i don't think either one of us were expecting. my cousin's husband died yesterday morning. now, he wasn't in the greatest health to begin with, but dying in your early 60's isn't exactly the norm anymore. fuck, i can remember being in their wedding back in the 80's. those memories coming back yesterday was a bit of a mind fuck. but, i look at it like this... he's no longer in pain and the house isn't in his name. at least my cousin won't have to go through that nightmare. and, he chose cremation, so there isn't the need to spend a ton of money on a funeral. the absolutely shitty thing was yesterday was the birthday of their daughter. i can't imagine her pain and loss right now.
so, the friend i was hoping to meet up with yesterday didn't text me back until after 4 PM. i'm not sure what she had going on as she never texted me back after the initial text. i'm never sure why people will say yes to doing something and then never contact the person when something comes up, etc. i mean, i'm not a fucking asshole 100% of the time. i do understand that life gets in the fucking way sometimes. but when someone claims they want to be with you and the last two attempts have gone haywire and sideways, i can't help but wonder, what the fuck is really going on. and with my lack of self esteem, it is always going to come back to what is wrong with me. i will ask the peanut gallery to pipe down, that was rhetorical.
the New Orleans Saints won yesterday at home against Chicago, 24-17.
i did watch a few NFL games yesterday and last night.
here are your NBA highlights from last night:
Big Brother was good last night. the final 3 are Jag, Matt and Bowie Jane.

i got all the clocks set last night except for the one in the Highlander. mom always has that one set twenty minutes fast so we're never late anywhere. i figure i might change that if i go out somewhere today. i was hoping to meet up with a friend later today but she hasn't texted me back yet.
well, let me begin with the Ohio State at Rutgers game from yesterday. i only got to see the highlights of it, but i figured they would struggle as i don't think they are the kind of team that knows how to handle success easily. but, a win is a win, 35-16.
WWE Crown Jewel was very good yesterday.
the New York Rangers lost last night at Minnesota, 5-4, in a shootout. they pissed away a 3-0 lead last night, so that pissed me off. but, at least they got a point out of the game.
FC Cincinnati won on penalty kicks last night to advance in the MLS playoffs.
i did watch a few college football games yesterday:
here are your NBA highlights from last night:
AEW Collision was good last night.
the baseball cards i got yesterday were very good. the highlight for me at least was the 1964 Topps Willie Mays / Orlando Cepeda card.

hard to believe that college basketball starts back up tomorrow. i had to give up my Dayton Flyers season tickets. that was a tough decision to make but i knew i couldn't afford them anymore. plus, as i have told mom, now that we don't have the tickets, they will probably do something magical this season.
i hope everyone had a great Saturday. i hope your Sunday will be even better.
i have no clue when i will be on here on Monday.

Smackdown and NXT Level Up were both pretty good last night.
AEW Rampage was good last night.

so, when i started the drive around noon today to take mom out to her eye appointment, i was hoping the traffic was going to be good. for the most part, other than being followed by a sheriff for a few miles, it was a decent ride. eventually, i found the place after a wrong turn. sometimes mom gets her lefts and rights confused these days. i know they wanted us there early to finish filling out the paperwork which mom could never get to come up on her phone or ipad. eventually, they called her back. the first guy she saw was sort of this matter of fact i don't need the story guy. he was filling in all her paperwork on the computer. mom is wordy when she gets nervous, and i could tell her anxiety was really fucking with her on this. eventually, she got used to what the guy was asking and calmed down. by the time she saw the second doctor, she was pretty good. her right eye is the worst eye, so that would be the one they would do surgery on first. it is going to be tricky if mom decides to have it, as she would have to lay flat for 24 hours afterwards. given her spinal stenosis, i have no clue if this is even possible. she made the comment on the way home that she wishes she never would have made this appointment. i understood what she meant. she knows what is possible but also knows what her physical ailments are that could limit her chances of it really being successful.
so, the drive home was crazy. i could see behind me that two cars were weaving in and out of traffic, almost like they were either filming shit for YouTube or this was the beginning of some road rage shit. so, i fucking floored it to get around the truck in front of me and get plenty away from those fucks. thankfully, there were no cops around since i was going 50 mph over the speed limit. i hate the long drives for mom because every bump in the road she can feel in her back. and here in Ohio, since no one wants to pay taxes, the roads are shit. good times.
the New York Rangers won last night at home over Carolina, 2-1. that's 6 wins in a row. it was a costly one though, as Adam Fox got injured on some cheap shit from Sebastian Aho and is now out 2-4 weeks. Filip Chytil is out as well. and i guess Igor Shesterkin is dealing with an injury as well. joy.
i did see a little of the NFL game last night.
Big Brother was good last night. Cirie was evicted and Bowie Jane is the new HOH.
NJPW was really good last night.

i woke up this morning and found my mother sleeping in the living room. she said her back was really hurting and wanted to sleep in her massage chair with the heat on. as someone with a bad back, i understand all too well. thankfully, i was able to get her to the place to have her bloodwork done today. the sun was out, which at least made it a little pleasant. the wind was a bit wicked though.
congrats to the Texas Rangers on winning the World Series last night.

i have a longish drive tomorrow to get mom to her eye appointment in the next county over. i need to map out the best way tonight. hopefully, i will be on here tomorrow after i get back from that.
i think it is supposed to start warming up in the next day or so.
i need to go figure out dinner, so that's all for me kids.
a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poem:
so, another cold one today. mom slept past noon. thankfully, she wrote my check last night. so, i squeezed in a trip to the bank while doing the grocery shopping today. add in having to go to Rite Aid to pick up a prescription. my arthritis has been raging and i think i nearly broke the toilet when i took a shit this morning. good times. mom's new medicine she's on cost twice as much as all the groceries today. thank god my credit is good.
let me get the shit news out of the way. Manchester United lost in the League Cup today at home to Newcastle, 3-0. back to back home losses of 3-0. that is surely a way to make sure you get fired as coach. i won't be surprised if that happens soon. i turned the fucking game off when it was 2-0. just fucking awful.
holy shit, i just saw the TMZ story that Bobby Knight is dead.
i see 2023 is now making a push to be remembered as the year of death. good times.

i should be on here tomorrow after i take mom to her appointment to have some bloodwork done.
i need to figure out dinner tonight.
i am running on roughly 3 hours of good sleep, so i know at some point i am going to fucking crash tonight. hopefully, it won't be in the middle of cooking or in the middle of taking a shit. i have always joked about going like Elvis, but i'd much rather die in my sleep or inside of a beautiful woman. that was typed to see if anyone is actually reading this and/or paying attention.
a big thank you to everyone for checking out my latest published poems:
