not the Sunday i was hoping for...

oh where to begin...

i did go to the Dayton Flyers game yesterday. thank god Dayton's cold spell came in the first half. they battled back in the last 3 minutes of the first half to take the lead into halftime. and thankfully, they played much better in the second half. they greatly improved their odds of finishing in the top 4 of the conference and getting a first round bye in the A10 tournament. Dayton beat Saint Louis 70-62.

the New York Rangers won yesterday against the Devils, 5-2. after the game, they traded one of my favorite Rangers ever, Mats Zuccarello, to Dallas for draft picks. now, i have to root for Dallas to do well and for Mats to sign there so both the picks will become first round picks. the Rangers lost today at Washington, 6-5 in OT. i do expect the Rangers to make a few more trades before the deadline tomorrow.

ROH was really good last night.

the New York Yankees lost yesterday to Boston and won today against Tampa Bay. hopefully, i will be in the mood for baseball when the season starts.

i did not sleep well at all last night. i got up this morning and realized i had missed the first 30 minutes of the Manchester United game. United had to use all 3 subs in the first half today because of injuries. fucking crazy. even more crazy was United held Liverpool to only 1 shot for the entire game. incredible defending by a group that can't play defense. final score was 0-0. considering United played most of the game with 10 1/2 men because of Marcus Rashford being injured and not being able to be subbed off, i am so fucking proud of them today. i would have loved a victory, but their effort today was unreal.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be the season finale of True Detective, Crashing, High Maintenance, Last Week Tonight, Total Bellas, Shameless, Black Monday and SMILF.

i doubt i watch any of the Academy Awards tonight. i haven't seen any of the movies, so i couldn't give two shits.

mom has physical therapy tomorrow afternoon, so i will be on here after that.

and here comes hell

so the wind has been blowing like it's the end of the world for most of the day so far. a massive cold front is supposed to come through tonight with the usual thunder, hail, possible tornadoes, you know, usual February shit. after it goes through, the temperatures will go from the 70's to the 30's. good times.

baseball is back. the New York Yankees won today over Philadelphia 9-4 in spring training. hopefully the Yankees will be better this season. and hopefully they stick with the youth movement.

my order from Amazon.com came today. thankfully the mailman didn't try to stuff it in the mailbox.

the New York Rangers won last night 2-1 over Toronto in a shootout. it was yet another come from behind road win for the boys. it truly was the battle of Swedish goalies last night. thankfully, The King came out on top. the Rangers play tomorrow at New Jersey.

The Big Bang Theory was pretty good last night.

Life in Pieces was pretty good as well.

Baskets was fucking hilarious last night.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice, NJPW and Real Time with Bill Maher.

the Dayton Flyers play tonight at Davidson. it's on ESPN2, so i'm really hoping the storms stay away until after the game.

my bones are really starting to ache, so i know the storms are getting closer. it's such a joy being 41 and feeling like you are in your fucking 70's.

i did write 5 poems this morning. i typed them up earlier and i think a couple of them are really good. i will probably do another round of submissions before the month is over. i have a couple places in mind to send to.

i hope everyone has a great weekend. i have no clue when i'll be on here tomorrow. i imagine mom will have me running somewhere to get something. my luck, it'll be snowing.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

no pain no gain

so i woke up this morning early to the dishes because i chose to sleep a little more last night. and by a little more, i'm talking about 30 minutes or so. if i had known my back was going to be in agonizing pain while doing them, i would have done them last night while asleep. maybe that's my next YouTube video.

the Sunday night shows were really good last night. my sister called right after True Detective ended and said, "what the fuck was that?" i just laughed. the show is so damn good. only 2 episodes remain and i get the feeling that none of the lingering questions are going to be answered. Girls was pretty damn funny. Shameless was excellent once again. House of Lies had some funny moments. and Episodes is the reason i fell asleep i do believe.

as for tonight, my usual Monday quandry is back. The Voice returns tonight. i'll be watching as usual. but, it comes on the same time as Monday Night Raw. and tonight is a huge episode as the WWE Network started today. it stands to be nostalgia heavy and interesting, as they are coming off a ppv last night. yet another night i could use a damn DVR. i'll be flipping back and forth for at least 2 hours.

i was happy that Little E won the Daytona 500 late last night. hard to believe it has been 10 years since he was won that race.

i was sad to see that Harold Ramis died today. one of the more underrated funny guys ever. for you kids that don't know what i'm talking about, go see how many movies he was involved with that you love. he will be missed.

there's a rumor we have some snow coming tonight as the temps go down to the single digits again. just fucking lovely.

i did some poetry work today with this pile of new poems i have sitting here. i picked out 9 i'll be sending out later this week to 3 places. i feel pretty good about these.

check out my friend's new blog, http://michelle-mattila.blogspot.com/

i'll be on here tomorrow sometime after the Manchester United game. hopefully i won't be too pissy.

i hope this finds everyone well.

one forgettable Sunday

so i woke up Sunday still pissed off from the New York Rangers loss and more injuries from the night before. let alone even more injuries to my fantasy hockey team which i have no doubt help give me a 6-4 loss for the week. i started to watch the Chelsea vs. Manchester City match hoping for the best. but, as soon as Chelsea didn't score on a penalty kick, i didn't bother to pay much attention to the game. i know how this shit turns out with the gods of sports. so, i started to pick up the trash and get ready to go feed the animals. City won 2-0 by the way. i still feel confident that Manchester United will win the title this year, but after last year's debacle, i'm not ready to pound on my chest just yet.

so, started to watch the Daytona 500 but the first crash of the race took out 3 of my 5 drivers. amazingly, my other 2 drivers finished first and second. what could have been.

turned on the New York Yankees spring training game just in time to watch Curtis Granderson break his right forearm getting hit by a pitch. he's out for the next 10 weeks. i did watch bits and pieces of the rest of the game. more shit from last year it looked like. no damn ability to get a hit when it mattered. boy, i really can't wait for another 162 games of that shit again. of course, if they somehow win the division again, that will help temper the misery.

i might have only watched 10 minutes or so of the Academy Awards last night. i laughed a few times but mostly, just couldn't give a shit.

the Sunday night shows i normally watch did salvage the day for me. all of them, Girls, Shameless, House of Lies, and Californication were excellent last night. that put me in a little better mood before i went to sleep. a little.

but, today the sun is out and it's a tad bit warmer. of course, judging from the radar, we have a monsoon coming later tonight and tomorrow. that should get interesting. the guy who farms out here finally got all the brush and trees out from the creek in front. i couldn't believe how much was in there. i guess we'll see quickly if it helps with the drainage or not.

looking forward to Monday Night Raw tonight. the Undertaker returned this past weekend at a house show, so maybe he makes a return tonight. plus, i'm sure some screwy ending to the Cena vs. Punk match is coming to set up a triple threat match at Wrestlemania. when you've been watching pro wrestling for 35 of your 37 years on this planet, you can damn near write the shit yourself. i'd really just like 3 hours of being entertained and not having to think. that should do me some good.

in other news, found some small deer antlers behind one of the barns today. not sure what i'm going to do with them. i imagine i'll think of something. also, a new cat showed up at the farm in the last 2 days. it's pretty big so i'm imagining that either it's a runaway or someone dumped it out here as it got too big to care for. it seems pretty friendly, so i'm guessing it was a pet. i gave it a little food but didn't check to see if it still had claws or not. if it doesn't, it won't last long out here.

mom ordered her hearing aid today. i had no idea they could be so expensive. at the price she got it at, i'm not sure it's worth it given what sounds she's been missing out on. of course, i'm one cynical fucker...
