take them behind the woodshed

it was fun to watch Dayton whip the shit out of Alabama today. even better, it was in front of a national audience on ESPN. i was thrilled that Dayton once again showed they own the SEC in basketball. 80-48 and honestly, it wasn't that close.

i didn't watch much of the Monday Night Football game last night. i knew just from the score that i was going to be fucked. i ended up losing all 3 of my fantasy football matches. plus, i only went 5-9 on picks this week. not fucking good at all.

Monday Night Raw could have been great last night. could. sadly, it wasn't. Legends with JBL on WWE Network was really good though. Gotham was spectacular last night. and while The Voice had a few really good performances, only one forced me to but the song on iTunes. since i'm not able to put the video in the blog for some fucking reason, you'll see the song listed in the music section.

enjoy some music kids (hopefully):

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be The Voice, Scream Queens and The Muppets.

for some reason, i'm starting to feel light headed and sweating. i can only hope this is a sign of impending death. just in case it is, that's all for me today kids.

i'll be on here sometime tomorrow. hopefully.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

not sure it's healthy for one to be pissed off for this long

i did something last night/early this morning that i really try to never do. i went to asleep pissed off beyond belief.

and it wasn't about the Yankees losing on a walk off home run in the 11th inning. it was more about the fucking umpire getting a call wrong in the top half of that inning that really set me the fuck off. i could understand if it was a bang bang play considering these old fucks were up way past their bedtimes. but this wasn't even close. and 20 seconds later ESPN had the replay to prove it. god forbid a baseball game goes 20 seconds longer to get a call right. and people wonder why no one under 30 gives a shit about this sport anymore.

so that pissed off feeling has basically lasted all day long. from the gigantic shit i took this morning, to the rain forest feel of the air as i was feeding the animals, to the standing water in the basement/cellar, to the rust on the water filter after just 10 days of use, to the downpour i was walking in to get the paper and mail.

i was hoping a nice long shower was going to help, but it didn't. i was hoping music was going to put me in a different frame of mind, but no luck there either. fuck it.

i did watch Big Brother last night. not much different than how i thought it went. The Newsroom was excellent once again. and finally, Ray Donovan had me laughing my ass off. the final scene in the gay bar had me nearly in tears.

not sure i'll pay much attention to the Yankees tonight. they start a new series in Texas 7 games out of first place. i won't throw in the towel but i'm not sure if i can say the same for the team.

probably the only good news in the last little while was team USA destroying El Salvador yesterday 5-1 in Gold Cup action. probably their best performance of the tournament. next game is Wednesday against Honduras. hopefully they can extend the winning streak to 10 games.

i'll probably be hitting the bed right after Monday Night Raw this evening as Manchester United plays early in the morning in Japan, i believe. at least the plan will be to go to sleep. i figure i'll achieve that by 2 am or so.

that's all for today.

time to pinch myself

so, i sat down last night to watch the Dayton Flyers. typical first half. up and down play, allowing the opposing team to go on a 10-0 run, too many turnovers, etc, etc. amazingly, in the second half, the team i thought they were going to be all season showed up. made 9 of their first 10 shots, played great defense, forcing the other team into turnovers. made their free throws, won the rebound battle and literally drove the other team fucking nuts. and mind you, this was on the road. their first road win in the conference this season. and honestly, winning by 21 only gets better when you get to see a posterizing dunk like this one

that dunk was top play #6 on Sportscenter last night on ESPN. hopefully this is the start of a winning streak that just might save their season. next game is at home on Saturday. another must win.

i wrote 3 poems last night and typed them up earlier today. i think one of them may be the best thing i've written in some time. i suppose time will tell on that one. they will probably be sent out sometime in the next few weeks. as March Madness approaches, i have roughly 10 basketball games i will be seeing in person in a 6 day stretch. after that chaos, i should have plenty of time to get back to the poems.

the snow has melted and it's just another dreary day out here on the farm. although it's amazing what an unexpected victory beer and a good poem does for my disposition. i completely understand why i'm a loner. i have no doubt it actually makes the world a better place.

an oh by the way news flash, my poem "many more miles down this road" appears on page 19 in Potters Wheel Anthology Vol. 1.

hopefully my good mood continues tonight as the New York Rangers play another home game. they are getting some injured players back i believe, so maybe it will. i had another injury on my fantasy hockey team, unexpected of course, but shockingly, i am ok with the player i got to replace him with.

i just know this positive vibe can't last forever. just hoping to stay on the wave as long as i can.
