so, mom cancelled her appointment today. her gut is really fucking with her and of course, she can't get an appointment until December to see that doctor. at least that meant, i got to watch all of the Manchester United game today.
the first half of United vs. Aston Villa was a snoozefest. the second half was a different story, thankfully. Aston Villa held two different leads in the second half, but United finally woke the fuck up and played much better in the second half. goals from Martial, Rashford, Bruno and McTominay gave United the 4-2 win. they will play Burnley in the next round of the League Cup at home in December.
the New York Knicks lost last night at the Nets, 112-85.

i heard back from Cristina at Synchronized Chaos on my recent poetry submission. my poems "little chance", "put our differences aside", "downing spoonsful of shit", "yet" and "open a window and fall back asleep" have been accepted for publication.
considering i live in a state that is becoming more and more bat shit crazy with right wing bullshit, i took a fair amount of glee at watching all the fucking nut jobs in other states lose. now sure, the Republicans will have control of the House, which means there will be constant investigations into all the stupid shit that they don't like that Biden has done, you know like helping fund Ukraine against an unprovoked Russian invasion, leaving Afghanistan (they will hate when they realize he was using Trump's plan to do it), and of course, have to investigate the crack head son of the President. i remember when the Republican party was actually about fiscal sanity, pro business, etc. now, it is nothing but whatever conspiracy theory gets fucking clicks. hell, i still remember the t-shirts from the right saying they would rather be Russian than a Democrat. that made me laugh as i know those dumb shits have no fucking clue what life in Russia is like. but, it looks like the Senate will still be a 50/50 split. i'm sure the Republicans loved spending all that money for a red wave that amounted to jack shit. as for Ohio, i feel real sorry for Tim Ryan. he could have easily beaten J.D. Vance if the Democratic party would have supported him. and to hear J.D. Vance talk about how he wants to do all this shit for Ohio... coming from the same piece of shit that made millions off of sending jobs from Ohio to foreign countries. now, he wants to bring them back? horse shit. two more years of Congress not getting shit done, and then the shit show of 2024 will be upon us. good times.
the New York Rangers pissed away a 2 goal lead entering the 3rd period last night, losing to the fucking Islanders, 4-3. that was the kind of loss that keeps me up until 4 or 5 in the morning.

i did go to the Dayton Flyers game last night. they won over Lindenwood, 73-46. they played pretty good defense, but couldn't shoot worth a shit last night. they will have to improve if they want to win on Friday against SMU. the injuries to the guards aren't helping them either.
most of the time with my bad back, a little ice and a nap will do the trick. and of course, on the day i need to be on the go and ready, my bad back has decided it wants to be an attention whore. fucking great.

i got up this morning and by the time i put the clean dishes away and made mom's coffee, Manchester United was losing 2-0 to Aston Villa. United would lose the game 3-1. i didn't watch any of it.
i went to Rite Aid to get a few things today. after that, i went to the local grocery store to get a few things. i think mom was pleasantly surprised i actually found a pizza that the sodium is at a level where she can have more than just one slice.
thank god the wind has fucking died down. i did pick the perfect day to get all the leaves off the back porch. they probably ended up about a mile away or so. i was shocked that all the bird feeders made it through the wind storm.
i will be on here early tomorrow as i have a crazy Monday in store for me. the Dayton Flyers begin their regular season tomorrow night. i truly hate college basketball games on Mondays. but, of course, i'll be going. the New Orleans Saints play tomorrow night as well.

today was one of those days where i would have loved to just open the windows and sleep in my chair all day. of course, that didn't happen.
i live about 4 minutes away from the Rite Aid in town. i got a text message last night that one of my prescriptions was ready. i went there this afternoon. it took me 4 minutes to drive there. i then stood in line for 40 minutes, listening to people bitch about the store. i finally got up to the window and got my pills. and the drive home took me all of 4 minutes. that pretty much sums up my afternoon.
the New York Rangers lost last night at home to Boston, 5-2. i think the Rangers played pretty good but ran out of gas in the third period.

Manchester United won yesterday at Real Sociedad, 1-0. they had plenty of time to get that second goal so they would win the group in the Europa League, but they never did. and Sociedad parked the bus in the second half and made damn sure United wasn't going to score. United will find out on Monday who they will play in February for the Europa League playoffs. my gut tells me they are going to face Barcelona.
the New York Knicks play tonight on the road at the 76ers. hopefully, they will find a way to win.
i should be on here tomorrow in the morning. my Saturday is going to be extremely fucking busy. between wrestling, college football, the MLS Cup final, etc, etc...

Manchester United plays Real Sociedad in Spain today in the last games of the group stage in the Europa League. United needs to win today by 2 goals or more to win the group and advance. if that happens, they will avoid playing one of the teams dropping down from the Champions League in a brutal home and away matches in February. i am really hoping United pulls it off today.
the New York Rangers play tonight at home against the Boston Bruins. Boston is one of the best teams in the league to start the season, so this will be a big game for the Rangers.

i did make a trip to the bank today. i hate that i have to drive even farther to get to a Chase bank now. oh well. after i made that deposit, i headed to Lee's because mom wanted some chicken and mac & cheese for lunch today. of course, Lee's didn't have the chicken she wanted, so i just got her the mac & cheese. thankfully, there wasn't a line at Wendy's and i know she can have the grilled chicken there. i used the bread for a sandwich for the chicken i got from Lee's. i have to have a rolodex in my head of what she can eat with her sodium restrictions at all times. if i go insane anytime soon, everyone should understand why.
