the sun is supposed to shine this weekend

i was amazed at how quickly mom and i made it to her appointment this morning. usually the highway is a fucking mess in the morning. i did bring along my pen and little notebook, just in case the words hit me in the waiting room. i ended up writing 5 poems this morning. i think i will wait to type them up. i'm hoping that i'll be using my new computer (hopefully soon) to type them up. as for my mother, her procedure went well. no cancer, nothing crazy. she has diverticulosis. she will be on a high fiber diet, probably for the rest of her life most likely. she will get the result from the biopsies in a few days i guess. she's pretty relieved that it wasn't cancer, especially with what is going on with her brother. after we left the hospital, we went to Perkins. she was hungry and wanted some real food.

i guess they didn't start to work on our new computer until this afternoon. the guy at Best Buy gave us the impression they were going to at least start the process last night. so i'll go ahead and assume we'll be picking up the computer after the basketball game tomorrow afternoon.

i watched most of that crazy ass football game last night. i can't believe Green Bay came back to win.

the New York Rangers were asleep for most of the game last night against Colorado. i guess it was too much to ask to have great efforts in back to back games. they lost 2-1 and have certainly hit the skids or, reality is finally catching up with them.

i didn't watch any of The Wiz. i figure i will watch that sometime over the holidays.

enjoy some music kids:
i'm really starting to feel old when guys i saw in concert back in the 90's are coming up dead less than 20 years later. rest in peace Scott. the demons won't bother you anymore.

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Undateable, NJPW and The Knick.

i will probably be on here later tomorrow as Manchester United plays in the morning and i will be leaving shortly after that game to go see the Dayton Flyers take on North Florida.

i haven't given much thought to a Flashback Friday, so here is another lazy example of my brilliance:
wise enough to keep driving (first published in Gutter Eloquence Magazine 2012)
too many pieces to count (first published in The Camel Saloon 2012)
the first crack of thunder (first published in Jellyfish Whispers 2012)

i hope everyone has a great weekend. drink until your blind, only fuck the ones that cough and call if you need bail money.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

peace and chicken grease...

it's not how you start...

when i had my third shit of the morning before 9 AM, i was wondering if my whole day was going to be spent on the toilet. mind you, the third one decided to surprise me while i was out in the yard feeding the birds. it was one thing when that happened at the farm and no one could see me. it's another when you have nosy fucking neighbors. thankfully, i made it inside and didn't put on too much of a show for the bastards. a big thank you to Imodium for finally working later in the morning. the last thing i wanted to do was spent today on the fucking toilet.

look out kids, i actually remembered Flashback Friday today. first up, my poem "locked in a war" from way back in 2004. you can find that poem by going here:
http://www.zygoteinmycoffee.com/issue5lockedinawar.html

the other poem for today is "the first crack of thunder". you can find that poem by going here: http://www.jellyfishwhispers.com/2012/08/a-poem-by-jj-campbell.html

if you happen to enjoy those poems, feel free to share them and tell the world.

i thought Manchester United played much better today. i am really impressed with the defense so far this season. imagine how good they all will be when they actually have played together for a few months. 6 points out of 2 games. i'll take that every fucking time. Manchester United 1 Aston Villa 0. the goal came from Adnan Januzaj off a beautiful pass from Juan Mata. a nice way to start my weekend.

enjoy some music kids:

thankfully Big Brother came on last night after the late local news. that was much better than waiting until 3 in the morning to see it. i believe the house will regret not getting Vanessa out when they had the chance. Shelli and Jackie got evicted last night. Liz is the new HOH.

Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll and Married were both excellent last night. Lip Sync Battle was pretty fucking funny, mostly because Iggy and Swaggy P are 2 dumb asses that are made for each other.

anyone else need a laugh?

the New York Yankees finally got a win last night. of course, they couldn't make it easy on themselves but i'll take it. the offense finally got going, scoring 8 runs. the pitching was so so most of the night, giving up 6. but, that sets up a HUGE weekend series up in Toronto. the Yankees are 1/2 game out of first. hopefully they can pay the Blue Jays back for last weekend.

on the DVR tonight will be NJPW and Treehouse Masters.

i did watch bits and pieces of the NFL last night. i hope the New Orleans Saints are going to play better defense than that when the regular season starts. i figure by next weekend i'll have some clue how many fantasy football leagues i'm going to be playing in this season. most likely either 2 or 3.

that's all for me today kids. my stomach is starting to rumble and my guess is that victory beer isn't doing well with the crackers i had. good times.

hope everyone has a great weekend. it's supposed to hot and a chance of rain here all weekend. hopefully you have better weather wherever the hell you are. drink too much, eat too much, live too much. as soon you truly figure out what that means, life is as simple as anything else. of course, this is coming from some fat fuck that enjoys the struggle. grain of salt my friends.

be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.

response from Jellyfish Whispers

i heard back from A.J. Huffman at Jellyfish Whispers on my recent poetry submission. my poem "the first crack of thunder" has been accepted for publication. it is slated to appear on the site August 24th.
