the beauty of running on fumes...

so, my mother wanted McDonalds for breakfast this morning. she decided today was her "cheat" day. there's 30 minutes of my life i'll never get back. while we were eating breakfast, her accountant called to tell her the taxes were done and ready for her to sign and pay. so, she asked me to take her over there this morning. no big deal really, just a few minutes from the house. so, we get in there and she signs and then she realizes she didn't bring her credit card. that old trick again. so, i had to pay for her taxes. and that started the snowball running downhill today. i went to the local grocery store and got some things i forgot yesterday. i then went to Big Lots to get some stuff. i was shocked they had baseball and football cards there. i even found some WWE cards i hadn't seen before. i had a 20% off coupon, so that came in handy. i spent around $30 on the cards and there was about $75 worth of them in the packs. i was going to go to Menards after Big Lots, but i forgot the fucking rebate at the house for Menards. thank god i realized that before i got too deep into the trip there. i found just about everything i was looking for at Menards. of course, that came to over $150 worth of stuff.

now mind you, i have done all of this on less than 4 hours of sleep. i'm pretty damn sure the candle burning at both ends is nearly out now.

the Yankees lost last night to Toronto, 6-5. that means the game tonight at Toronto is pretty much a MUST win. if they don't win tonight, they might have to sweep Tampa to make the playoffs.

the season finale of Big Brother went as i expected last night. Xavier won 9-0, as he should have.

AEW Dynamite was excellent last night.

Rhodes to The Top was pretty good last night.

The Masked Singer was crazy as usual last night.

Alter Ego put me to sleep last night.

American Horror Story: Double Feature started part 2 last night. Death Valley definitely gave me some X Files vibes for sure.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, What We Do in the Shadows, Dark Side of the Ring and Cake. i did watch NXT UK this afternoon. it was really good.

i imagine if i get bored tonight, i might watch some of the Bengals vs. Jaguars.

i did watch a little bit of the Columbus Crew match last night. i'm so happy they beat Cruz Azul to win the Campeones Cup.

i have nothing planned tomorrow. now, if mom cuts me a check, i might make a trip to the bank. hard to believe October starts tomorrow.

my back is begging for some ice and my massage chair, so that's all for me kids.

until tomorrow...

not a bad way to start the weekend

i got up sort of early (or late) this morning and made some coffee. amazingly, my sister liked it. she's one of these snobs that drinks about a gallon of coffee a day. i just wanted to make sure i would be awake for the Manchester United game.

i was sort of leery about the game with Crystal Palace. they had been so bad this season, i could just see Manchester United not stepping on their throats and destroying them. thankfully, i had nothing to worry about. 3 minutes in, Juan Mata had already scored and the stroll in the park was on. United added 2 from Fellaini and 1 from Lukaku to comfortably win 4-0. that's an excellent way to head into the international break.

the New York Yankees got some great pitching yesterday (Tanaka with 15 strikeouts) and just enough clutch hits to defeat Toronto 4-0. Boston lost last night so the division lead is down to 2 with 2 games to play. yesterday was the first time the Yankees had won 90 games in 5 seasons. hopefully the Yankees get another win this afternoon.

the oil change for the car yesterday turned into a bit of a fiasco. apparently the brake lights weren't working and something was wrong with a tire. the guy was telling mom that you must have took it someplace to get a patch. mom went off saying that she bought the tires from where we were at and if there was any patch, it was done by your guys. that shut him up pretty quickly. about 45 minutes later, we were leaving. i had to sit and listen to Fox News for way too long while i was there. at least i understand why so much of this country is fucking stupid.

VICE was excellent last night.

Real Time with Bill Maher last night was fucking hilarious.

Room 104 was really good last night.

Mike Judge Presents: Tales from the Tour Bus was about Jerry Lee Lewis last night. yet another great episode.

enjoy some music:

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Felipe Esparza: Translate This, Saturday Night Live and ROH.

Ohio State plays at Rutgers tonight. they should win the game on talent alone, but i know that's a recipe for disaster.

i figure i will be flipping through a little baseball and college football for most of the day.

i'll probably be on here tomorrow after the New Orleans Saints play in London in the morning against the Dolphins.

i hope everyone has a great Saturday. call if you need bail money.

poetry in the morning, mindless bullshit at night

got my ass in gear this morning and sent out poetry to the following places:

Rattle (Poetry Contest)
ZYX
ART:Mag
The Camel Saloon
Horror Sleaze Trash

hopefully the factory put the right poems in the right places. time will tell.

as for tonight, some mindless television. tonight marks the return of Big Brother, one of the few guilty pleasures i allow myself. and after that will be two of the best shows on tv, Wilfred and Louie. some local news, Letterman, Fallon and then Big Brother After Dark on Showtime 2. hopefully this cast doesn't suck. from what i've seen so far, it could be an interesting season. of course, if it sucks, more sleep for me.

music today:

Beck - Guero
AC/DC - The Razors Edge
Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream
KISS - Destroyer
Pixies - Bossanova
Beastie Boys - Hot Sauce Committee Part Two
