one of those days...

so, after roughly three hours of sleep last night, i got up this morning and knew my back was fucking fucked. that started a roughly 5 hour process of icing, stretching, etc., trying to get my back good enough that i could do the grocery shopping. thankfully, it all worked well enough. i didn't have any problems while i was at Kroger, but i knew to be very careful and purposeful. yet, i know i will be icing my back down for most of tonight just to be able to function a little tomorrow. joy.

the Yankees won last night at the Phillies, 7-6 in 12 innings. and today, they won, 6-5, to sweep the series. i am still shocked that they swept the Phillies on the road. they are off tomorrow and start a series Friday at home against Toronto.

the USWNT won today at the Olympics against Australia, 2-1.

the USA men's basketball team won today against South Sudan, 103-86.

NXT last night was great.

Deadliest Catch was very good last night.

Hard Knocks offseason last night was good. the Bears Hard Knocks show starts next week.

Manchester United plays tonight out in San Diego against Real Betis. hopefully, they will win and have no fucking injuries.

i have no clue when i will be on here tomorrow.

quite the busy day...

so, we had a plumber out here this morning. turns out our flange on our toilet was cracked. the plumber said it was an easy fix and he was gone in just over a hour. they picked up the trash late, so that made it fun driving in town. it was like a fucking obstacle course. the cards i ordered from Etsy got here sooner than i was expecting. they were mostly NBA cards, plus a few baseball cards and old WCW wrestling cards. all in all, i think i got my money's worth. i did get all the grocery shopping done. got home in time to watch a little soccer, walk with my mother outside and write a poem down that came to me when i was driving today listening to the radio. thankfully, the sun was out today.

the New York Yankees lost last night at the Twins, 6-2. that meant the Twins won their first season series against the Yankees since 2001. apparently, that must have pissed off the Yankees, as they won the game this afternoon, 12-6. the Yankees play tomorrow night in Texas against the Rangers.

and now the wind...

we got another 1.5 inches of rain yesterday. that means we've had 3 inches in the last 2 days. and now the wind is blowing like a motherfucker. good times.

i did send out 11 poems earlier today. 5 to Synchronized Chaos and 3 each to Yellow Mama and Cajun Mutt Press. when i hear back from these places, i will pass along the verdicts.

the USMNT whipped Grenada last night, 7-1. that was a beautiful thing to watch. they play at home on Monday against El Salvador.

the college basketball games last night were crazy once again. first time ever i believe there are no number 1 seeds still going and we're down to the Elite 8.
