so, like most of this country, i watched the released footage of the killing of Tyre Nichols last night. just a fucking senseless death. now, i know the arguments from both sides. just comply, don't run, etc. all cops are evil, doesn't matter the color, etc. since we no longer live in a society where anyone can see the fucking truth is somewhere in the middle of the rhetoric, i'm hoping the protests won't turn violent, but i'm sure they will. and honestly, my only hope from all of this is the few good police that do exist in this country. please turn all the shitty police in. now, i know for any of that to happen, you have to change the police unions and the whole concept of why he have police forces to begin with. even better, imagine a society where drugs were legal and the temptation to do them was gone because you were no longer getting away with something. i'm not going to get on my soapbox and rail for the next 45 minutes, although i know i can. as i told my mother last night, there has always been a reason why i have never trusted the police and even more reasons why i never will. all this does is add to my resolve. now, if any good comes from all of this, that should come from the resolve of others who actually want to live in a society as bound to racist institutions as this country is. and if you want to think i don't know what i'm talking about, please look up why this country started up police forces. and if you actually read the truth, it shouldn't be that hard even for the fucking blind to connect the dots.
