perhaps i'm a vampire and just not aware of it...

here in the house of apathy, especially on these hot summer days, mom tends to sleep all day. 2 hours here and there. i'll be guilty of taking a few naps while icing my back down. of course, what it truly means, is we'll both be up around 3 in the morning, bitching about not being able to sleep. i mentioned to her earlier today, perhaps we're just vampires and don't know it. she returned with and we've never met the right people to know it for sure. i'm guessing she was half-asleep while she said that. we're supposed to get some storms tonight to break this humidity. i'll believe it when i see it.

i did contact my doctor today about the pinched nerve in my right arm. so now the waiting game is on. and i told them the GI doctor i want to go to, which isn't the one they referred me to. so, i'm interested to see when i get an email back from them.

the New York Yankees won last night over Boston, 9-6. they finally got some decent pitching on the same night the offense showed up. what a concept. they are off tonight. they start a home series tomorrow night at home against Arizona.

Euphoria was excellent last night. i can't wait to see the season finale next week.

Last Week Tonight was hilarious as usual.

City on a Hill was great last night.

Big Brother was good last night.

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Divorce and Desus & Mero. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

my sister gave mom and i our gifts from her trip to Greece. i was more interested in what she thought of the country, the ancient places, etc. i get the feeling that she didn't enjoy her time in Athens and will never go back.

she did buy us lunch yesterday before she left to go home. mom was happy that she didn't have to pay anything.

i will probably be on here tomorrow in the afternoon, unless i have a doctor's appointment.

i hope everyone had a great weekend.

until tomorrow kids...

when the dreams become weird and bitter...

oh, how i love waking up to missed calls from the muse and rejected poems. just how i wanted to start off my Sunday morning.

i heard back from Gordon at Brief Wilderness on the poems i sent back in January and then again in April. he apologized for taking so long but decided to pass on the poems. so, there's another 5 for the unpublished file. i'm tempted to keep these together and get them published as a group somewhere. more on that in August.

i did type up the 5 poems i wrote the other day last night. i really like a few of them. i'm sure they will be a part of the first submissions of August as well.

the New York Yankees split the doubleheader with the Royals yesterday. they lost the first game 10-5. just too many fucking mistakes and yet another shitty start from their ace, Luis Severino. in the second game, the Yankees came from behind late to win 5-4. they will go for the series win this afternoon with their new pitcher J.A. Happ getting the start. the Yankees made another trade last night after the second game of the doubleheader. they traded the human white flag and a minor league pitcher to the Cardinals for a minor league first baseman and more importantly, international pool bonus money. the rumor is they are in the process of signing the #9 international prospect and the money from the Cardinals will go towards that. once again, good business.

Manchester United lost to Liverpool yesterday 4-1. i won't put much stock into the game since most of United's players are still on their World Cup break. that being said, boy it's going to be tough to watch this team early in the season. good god.

ROH was really good last night.

i felt bad for mom yesterday at Meijer. one, she was pooped by the time we got in the store from the parking lot. two, her vision is going bad it seems. she had a hard time focusing on signs and labels. i don't know if she needs new glasses or if her cornea has gotten worse. we did find most of what we were looking for. i think i'll have to go to Menard's for the shower spray refill though.

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Big Brother, the season finale of Total Bellas, Power, Sharp Objects, Succession, Last Week Tonight, The Affair, Who is America? and Our Cartoon President.

i'll probably be on here in the afternoon tomorrow.

i hope everyone had a good Saturday. i hope your Sunday is even better.

it's hell for fat people

there's nothing quite like going out at 8 in the morning to get the paper and as soon as you walk out the door you feel the first little bit of sweat start to run down your back. and before you can get to the street and back in the air conditioning, that sweat is now in your asshole brewing up a storm. welcome to summer in my world. enjoy the visuals.

the New York Yankees fell behind last night 5-0 before the first inning was over. i was not happy. when i checked back a few minutes later, the Yankees had scored 6 runs and had the lead. they would go on to score 11 in that second inning. as a matter of fact, they scored 21 unanswered runs to win 21-5. that's a slow pitch softball score right there. the best thing, the Yankees next two pitchers after the starter got bombed didn't give up a hit. beautiful. hopefully it continues tonight.

WWE Tough Enough had another shocking ending. honestly, it's probably for the best that Mada got eliminated. i have no doubt he will be wrestling somewhere soon. and he's big enough that the WWE will come calling before too long. The Miz replaced Hulk Hogan as a judge. he spiced things up immediately and probably came within an inch of Paige killing him. that should make the next month interesting.

Total Divas was actually pretty good. Deadliest Catch was excellent last night. Tyrant was really great. unfortunately my DVR cut off the final moments, but i stayed up to watch that later. another excellent episode. i can't wait for next week.

enjoy some music kids:

here's some funny shit:

i highly recommend the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast this week with Daniel Bryan. it is an excellent episode. you can find it on iTunes, Stitcher, notsam.com and on the right hand side of this blog.

tonight is going to be a crazy one on television. all at the same time; NXT, Lucha Underground, Big Brother, the MLS All-Star game are going on. throw in the Yankees and Manchester United vs. PSG on tape delay and you pretty much have what my night is going to look like. the DVR will be busier that shit this evening.

hopefully the shower i took this afternoon helps. i believe the air conditioning has been running nearly all damn day long. we were supposed to get some rain, or at least that's what my back was telling me. of course, 10 miles to the east is under a flood watch. figures.

i hope this finds everyone with a cool drink in their hands. and hopefully it won't be your last.
