so, i was standing in Big Lots...

when i got the alert on my phone that Sean Payton was retiring as coach of the New Orleans Saints. this immediately put the doomsday scenario i have had in my head for years into play. he steps away from the Saints and after a year or so, gets that itch to coach and then he's the coach of the Dallas Cowboys. now, thankfully, the Saints will have his rights for three more years, so if that scenario happens, i hope the Saints rip the Cowboys off for a few first round picks and plenty of money. now, if that scenario doesn't happen and he goes into TV or some other role, i will always be happy for the job he did as Saints coach. to get that team a Super Bowl title is so beyond fucking words, let alone to help the city come back from all those fucking hurricanes... some days the news hits you like a punch to the dick. thanks for 16 years coach.

i went to Big Lots to see if i could find any baseball cards. i had the birthday coupon with me. of course, they had none. so, i found some shot glasses i liked and some Jim Beam dark roast coffee. i figure i'm well on my way to being a full fledged alcoholic, why not.

i had to go to Rite Aid today to find the stuff i couldn't find yesterday. and then i went to the local grocery store and got what i would normally get on Wednesday. since i have to take the Highlander in tomorrow, i figured i would get some of the grocery shopping done today. i did get some baseball cards at Rite Aid. there was close to $20 worth of cards in the $5 box.

the New York Rangers defeated the Kings last night, 3-2, in a shootout. the shot Adam Fox made in the shootout is why he should be a Norris Trophy candidate for the next decade for sure.

both episodes of Kenan were pretty funny last night.

That's My Jam was hilarious last night.

Monday Night Raw was good last night. i can't wait for the Royal Rumble this Saturday.

on the DVR tonight will be NXT.

the Dayton Flyers play at home tonight against Fordham. my back is still killing me, so i'll be watching the game on ESPN+. Dayton is a 13.5 point favorite tonight. i feel like Dayton will win but i would be pleasantly shocked if they win by that much.

i need to pick up the trash here and figure out what the fuck i'm making for dinner. so, that's all for me kids.

until tomorrow...

the winter blues

cloudy day after cloudy day after cloudy fucking day, welcome to winter. at least the rain this morning didn't freeze. i got mom to the hospital on time and she was out in under a hour. hopefully, this round of shots work even better.

the New York Rangers whipped New Jersey last night 5-0. it was a game that seemed like every break possible went for the Rangers. i'm old enough to know to enjoy the fuck out of those games. the Rangers play Chicago at home tomorrow night.

the New Orleans Saints had another shitty game on offense yesterday. they lost to Tampa Bay 16-11. it was a god awful game to watch. Drew Brees threw another 3 interceptions. i can't help but think if Michael Thomas would have played, they could have won. oh well.

the season finale of Divorce was very interesting last night. in hindsight, i guess i'm happy my sister and i were as old as we were when our parents got divorced. i could see my father pulling some custody shit like what happened in the show last night.

Shameless was great last night. i can't wait for that season finale next week.

The Affair was awesome last night. easily, one of the best shows on television.

and now some of this and that:

on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight and night 1 of the finale of The Voice. i'll be watching Monday Night Raw for most of the evening.

after i got mom home from the hospital this morning, i went to the grocery store. when i saw the scroll on the side of the refrigerator this morning, i figured i should go on the day where there isn't going to be any snow. i had to get gas as well. so, i got everything for under $160. that's not bad. i did see a couple of women in the store that nearly made me stop dead in my tracks. hopefully a few poems will be popping up later this evening.

i hope everyone had a great weekend. if not, a bottle is cheaper than therapy.
