i was really disappointed with the New York Rangers last night. they started out passive once again, thinking that all they need to do is show up for good things to happen for them on the ice. thank god The King was on fire in the net for the Rangers. he had 21 damn saves in the first period alone. the Rangers got their act together at the start of the second and scored first. sadly, they once again didn't keep their foot on the gas and Ottawa scored to even the game going into the 3rd period. i wasn't in love with the officiating last night and i certainly wasn't in love with the icing that didn't get called on what ended up being the winning goal for Ottawa. the Rangers lost 2-1 and pissed away a game where their goalie was easily the best player on the ice. now, most people believe that was the best Ottawa could play and it's painfully obvious the Rangers can play much, MUCH better. hopefully that happens in Game 2 on Saturday.
the New York Yankees got a great game last night from Tanaka (97 pitches to throw a complete game 3 hit shutout) and just enough offense to beat Chris Sale and Boston 3-0. they start a series back at home tonight against Baltimore.
i was pleased with what the New Orleans Saints did last night in the draft. they had the best cornerback in the draft fall in their laps at #11 and went with their best player available at #32. hopefully they use the rest of the picks in the draft to continue to bolster the shitty defense and maybe get a nice new toy for the offense.
The Big Bang Theory was really funny last night.
Life in Pieces was fucking hilarious once again last night.
Lip Sync Battle was an instant classic last night.
enjoy some music:
and now some of this and that:
on the DVR tonight will be Vice News Tonight, VICE, NJPW and Real Time with Bill Maher.
rounds 2 and 3 of the NFL Draft are tonight as well as some playoff hockey. i'll probably catch bits and pieces of all of that and the baseball game.
i think my mother is doing better. i wish she was a little more aware at times. i've had a bad back for so damn long now, i'm really cognizant of each move and taking my time. sadly, she isn't. so, watching her almost fall because she doesn't realize where she's sitting on the bed is a little hard for me. and of course, since i was raised by assholes, i usually will have an asshole response, i suppose that's how genetics works.
congrats to former Dayton signee McKinley Wright on choosing Colorado as his new college. i hope you enjoy the weed and the middle of the PAC 12 instead of actually winning a conference like you could have at Dayton. this was my fear of Dayton picking an older coach who looks at the job as a destination. it's not. that's why i loved having a young coach who is hungry to earn his way out of Dayton. you can only do that by winning and doing so on the national stage. instead, the young AD listened to all the old fucks who think that Dayton is just as good nationally as Xavier, Butler and Gonzaga. now, i really hope i am wrong about Anthony Grant and what he will be able to do at Dayton. and i also don't want to be the asshole laughing when an alumni has to be fired from the program. all that being said, the program still doesn't have a fucking point guard. i still know enough about basketball that you have to have a good point guard if you even want to dream about winning games. sadly, the blue hairs that love this program to death only care that one of their own is now running the show.
i hope everyone has a great weekend. i will try to be on here before the Rangers play in the afternoon tomorrow.
be well. be creative. be cool. be quick to send me CASH, panties, hate mail, love letters, broken promises and dirty pennies from heaven.
peace and chicken grease...
